Raising taxes doesn't raise revenues; Obama's America will become Detroit; Why Cubans came to America; Media hides union thugs attacks in Lansing; "Religion is what mucks the whole [Chritmas] thing up?; Surviving Americans hidden; The jig is up on manmade global warming lies; Why MI Governor Snyder signed Right to Work legislation

The theater of the absurd in Washington revolving around raising tax rates on the wealthy is based on a fiction: massively raising the rates will result in additional revenue for the government.
One of the constants in any analysis of income taxes paid in the United States since their inception in 1916 is the correlation between the top marginal rates and the taxes actually paid by the so-called wealthy. Short of turning America into Stalin's police state and confiscating all the wealth of the "evil" one percent, the predictable behavior of this economic class very much revolves around the tax policies of the government, both state and federal. [The article describes how those who are taxed too much change their investments so as not to participate.  Even Obama admitted that he knows it won't increase revenues, but it is only FAIR!]

Obama's America Will Become Detroit

President Barack Obama traveled to Michigan this week and made his case for class war in defense of the welfare state.
"Our economic success has never come from the top down," said Obama. "It comes from the middle out. It comes from the bottom up."  [As the old saying goes, "I have never been given a job by a poor man.]Obama spoke these words a few miles from Detroit — the reductio ad absurdum of his argument.
If America continues down the road to Obama's America — a road that began when President Franklin Roosevelt started building a welfare state here — our entire nation will become Detroit.

Is wanting workers to have the right to choose if they're going to join a union racist?
Apparently it is according to MSNBC commentator Al Sharpton who concluded a Huffington Post rant about Michigan's newly enacted right to work laws Wednesday, "People should think twice before they invite Gov. Snyder to a King Day celebration in three weeks."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

According to the Detroit News‘ Henry Payne, were it not for the United Auto Workers’ top boss, Bob King, and his lust for union power at the expense of the Michigan constitution earlier this year, Michigan’s GOP-legislators and, more importantly, Governor Rick Snyder would not have taken on the fight to enact Right-to-Work legislation. However, it was King and his failed attempt to enshrine forced union payments into the state’s constitution fanned the flames of workplace freedom.
According to Payne, the UAW’s King provoked the Right-to-Work fight by by trying to bite the hand that feeds him one too many times:
Were it not for UAW President Bob King’s introduction of the divisive Prop 2 in November’s campaign, right-to-work would not be an issue today.
With his March announcement of a constitutional amendment to ban right-to-work and reverse Republican-led government reforms, sources say that King united a broad coalition of business, grass-roots activists and legislators in a long-term strategy to not only defeat Prop 2 – but to enact game-changing right-to-work legislation in Michigan.
Politics is about personalities as well as issues, and King’s key mistake was honking off Gov. Rick Snyder who, until King’s Prop 2 provocation, had tried to keep right-to-work on the sidelines. http://www.redstate.com/2012/12/13/dog-bites-man-man-bites-back-the-uaws-king-made-michigans-right-to-work-bed/-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ABC, NBC and CBS ignore union thugs' attack on Fox News contributor
t’s a sad day for American TV journalism when The Huffington Post is a more honest news outlet than ABC, CBS or NBC. On Tuesday, after Michigan union protests escalated into violence, HuffPo led with several stories, including one headlined: “Fox News Contributor Punched.”http://global.fncstatic.com/static/v/all/img/external-link.png
That story was about how Fox News contributor Steven Crowder and others were attacked by union thugs during the protest against the new “right-to-work” law. ABC, CBS and NBC covered the protests but only ABC made mention of police having to deal with protesters. None of them mentioned the attack on Crowder or showed the videos of that attack and the thugs tearing down a tent with people in it, both widely available on the Internet hours before the evening news show broadcasthttp://global.fncstatic.com/static/v/all/img/external-link.png. No network quoted Teamsters head Jimmy Hoffa predicting “civil war”http://global.fncstatic.com/static/v/all/img/external-link.png between lawmakers and union members.

Man-made global warming: even the IPCC admits the jig is up
The admission of strong evidence for enhanced solar forcing changes everything. The climate alarmists can’t continue to claim that warming was almost entirely due to human activity over a period when solar warming effects, now acknowledged to be important, were at a maximum. The final draft of AR5 WG1 is not scheduled to be released for another year but the public needs to know now how the main premises and conclusions of the IPCC story line have been undercut by the IPCC itself.

NBC’s medical editor denounced the religious part of Christmas during a panel discussion about the holiday on Today
“I don’t like the religion part,” said Nancy Snyderman, the network’s chief medical editor. “I think religion is what mucks the whole thing up.”
The “religion” she was referring to is celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.
The outburst came during a panel discussion with Matt Lauer, Star Jones and Donny Deutsch. Her response came after Jones said she focuses on the religious meaning of Christmas.

Congressman Jason Chaffetz (R- UT) told Breitbart News on Wednesday that he has been “thwarted” by the State Department from seeing any Americans who survived the deadly attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in  Benghazi. Many people forget that there were Americans who survived the Benghazi attack, some of whom were badly injured and are still recovering.

“My understanding is that we still have some people in the hospital. I’d like to visit with them and wish them nothing but the best but the State Department has seen it unfit for me to know who those people are—or even how many there are,” Rep. Chaffetz said. "I don’t know who they are. I don’t know where they live. I don’t know what state they’re from. I don’t even know how many there are. It doesn’t seem right to me."  http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2012/12/12/Chaffetz-Benghazi-State-Dept

Rep. Frank Wolf: Tunisia Won´t Let FBI Interview Benghazi Suspect
According to Wolf, Tunisian officials have not allowed the FBI to question him for the past five weeks.“These unnecessary and unfounded delays are inexcusable and demonstrate that Tunisia is no friend or ally of the United States,” Wolf wrote in a letter to Clinton earlier this week.“Since January 2011, the U.S. has given more than 320 million taxpayer dollars to Tunisia,” he said in the House Wednesday. “Why are we giving any sort of aid to a country that has proven at this time it is no friend or ally to the United States?  Why are we not doing everything in our power to investigate the events in Benghazi that killed four Americans?”  http://cnsnews.com/news/article/rep-frank-wolf-tunisia-wont-let-fbi-interview-benghazi-suspect

The Dumbing Down Of Americans [A decades-long process coming to fruition]

Superficial thinking has made many Americans vulnerable to demagogues, thieves and just plain liars. Unfortunately, the media and our government are full of the latter. What's behind this intellectual indolence? Is it drugs, our poor educational system, the instant gratification addiction induced by the technological advances in our culture or is it all the above?
The clearest indicator that this country no longer has grey cells that work is how the voting masses have been manipulated into believing everything the treasonous mainstream media tells them. The very idea that bills can be passed in Congress that will cost us trillions that we don't have and haven't even been read is beyond credibility. They have now reelected a president that has saddled generations to come with trillions of debt and yet will not cut spending. Hollywood celebrities fawned at his feet during the campaign ignoring the fact that he wanted to tax them into bankruptcy. President Barack Obama is just so cool, like Sally Fields, they all thought, "He likes me, he really likes me."

MSNBC´s Hall Annoys Lib Senator By Asking Tough Questions Re: Intern Scandal; AP: Feds Waited Til After Election to Arrest Him
Democratic Senator Bob Menendez of New Jersey seemed absolutely shocked and appalled Tuesday afternoon, when MSNBC anchor Tamron Hall kicked off their interview on comprehensive immigration reform by asking him about breaking news from the Associated Press regarding the arrest and deportation order against an intern in the senator's office who is a registered sex offender. According to the report, the arrest was deliberately timed to fall AFTER the November 6 presidential election.

An Islamic extremist hacker group appears to have followed through on its latest threats to attack several major American banks in retaliation for what it says is “widespread and organized offenses to Islamic spirituals and holy issues.”  The attack is one in a series that began this fall under the banner of Operation Ababil, which the group has vowed to continue until the “Innocence of Muslims” film has been removed from the internet.

PNC Bank confirmed on its Facebook page Wednesday that it was experiencing “an unusual volume of internet traffic,” which was impacting its customers’ ability to access their accounts.  On Tuesday, it had posted the following warning:

Hispanics must recall the reason their parents came to America in the first place
Put me down as one as a Cuban-American who voted for Romney.   Yes, we saw that "hope and change" movie before and it does not end well.

I will add that I've always supported a rational immigration reform that focuses on the economic needs of the US.  For example, I'm open to "work visas" for people who want to work here.  However, I do not believe in amnesty or legalizing people just because they crossed the border.  Our focus should be on all of those who respected our laws and sit in their countries waiting for their turn to come to the US.
