Circumcision criminalized; First mixed-race president; Crusaders in warmner climes; Pentagon rescinds recent edict; Withhold all aid to Egypt?; Opposition notebooks found online; CNN hammers Obama's hypocrisy on transparency; EPA roadless rule hampers Forest Service, causes bigger fires; Obama won't apologize for lying about Mitt; Unmanned underwater craft to Persian Gulf; EBT cards used for tatoos, manicures, etc.

Calling it the "worst attack on Jewish life since the Holocaust," the Conference of European Rabbis on Thursday strongly condemned a recent German court decision that criminalizes the circumcision of boys.

"A ban on circumcision poses an existential question for the Jewish community in Germany," the president of the organization, Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, said on Thursday. "If the ruling is allowed to stand, then I don't see a future for Jews in Germany."
Last Friday, while on Michel Martin's NPR show, "Tell Me More," Hollywood titan Morgan Freeman informed his host that, contrary to the prevailing wisdom, Barack Hussein Obama is not America's first black president.
He is the country's "first mixed-race president."  The first black president, Freeman continued, has not as yet "arisen."
So, one wonders, whence stems the popular misconception that Obama is black?  Freeman has an answer ready at hand: the president's opponents.
Obama's rivals want to fuel the flames of racial bigotry by emphasizing his African ancestry while ignoring his white background.  Yet they conveniently "forget that Barack had a mama" who "was white, very white American, Kansas, middle of America."
[The truth here, if Morgan would only wake up, is that it is Obama himself who describes himself as black, seeking black friends, failing to mention his whiteness in any way.]

While CBS touts a "groundbreaking" government report linking extreme weather and climate change, German researchers find 2,000 years of cooling and warmer temps in medieval times and the Roman era.
This summer's heat wave has given the global warmongers new hope in conning the hot and the restless into believing the whole thing is due to that SUV parked in your driveway and that coal-fired plant down the street.
Not so fast, say German researchers who documented a two millennia cooling trend. Both the Roman legions and Crusaders marched in warmer climes.
The chairman of the House Armed Services Committee on Thursday threatened to hold up Pentagon funding for military activities until the department reverses a policy of requiring sharply reduced reports to Congress. The Pentagon announced it is scrapping the policy a short time later.
“We have rescinded the guidance,” said Pentagon spokesman George Little.
The policy, which mandated all reports to Congress be around 10 pages in length, was put in place last year by the office of the undersecretary of defense for policy, Little said. He noted that Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, a former House member, is committed to being responsive to Congress.
Thirty-five Republican members of Congress are calling on House leadership to “withhold all U.S. aid to the Egyptian government” until its new Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated president agrees to abide by “Egypt’s treaties, promote peace with Israel, and continue to recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state.”
It could be one of the biggest political intelligence coups of the 2012 battle to control Congress. Media Trackers, a conservative investigative watchdog group, discovered nearly three-dozen Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee opposition research notebooks – extensive secretive manuals outlining anything that could be used against a political opponent. Several news outlets have reported that some of the files have been quietly published on the DCCC’s website to facilitate their use by independent expenditure groups. On Thursday, however, Media Trackers published a dozen opposition research books that Democrats have so far managed to keep secret.
Although the sudden availability of the files may trump any timetable Democrats may have put together for distributing the information, their value to Republicans depends largely on the individual campaign’s own strategic response. The information – if damaging in anyway – could be pre-empted or attacks based on the material could be headed off at a time when they are not quite so damaging as the final weeks of a campaign. As is often the case, the general dynamics of a race will impact the value of the early release almost as much as the substance of the intelligence itself.
The full list of still-secret opposition books discovered and released by Media Trackers is as follows:

It’s nice to see a network such as CNN absolutely destroy Obama’s repeated claims that his administration is the “most transparent”in history. Now if only MSNBC would do something similar…
Environmental regulations restricting the construction of forest access roads have limited the ability of the Forest Service to clear combustible brush and trees, adding dangerous fuel to the wildfires that have ravaged Colorado this summer. The so-called “roadless rule,” which was first implemented in 2001 by President Clinton shortly before he left office, restricts and in many cases prohibits local and federal officials from building and maintaining roads that allow firefighters to clear out growth that could instantly become tinder for a new fire.
The Roadless Area Conservation Rule, regularly referred to as the 2001 roadless rule, was adopted in January of 2001 and classified 31 percent of national forest lands in Colorado as Inventoried Roadless Areas (IRA’s). Four of the national forests that fell under the IRA classification did so based on inventories from 1979, four more were classified as IRA’s based on inventories from 1996, 1997, 1998, and 2002. [I've also read that while we are decrying 8 million acres being on fire this year, 38 million acres was typical in the past.]
Mitt Romney wants President Obama to apologize for his campaign's suggestion that the Republican candidate could have broken the law by making inaccurate statements to the Securities and Exchange Commission. Says president 'reckless and absurd'... 'Deceptive and dishonest'... 'Beneath Dignity Of His Office'... [Obama's "Kill Romney" campaign]: 'It's disgusting. It's demeaning'...
The Navy is rushing dozens of unmanned underwater craft to the Persian Gulf to help detect and destroy mines in a major military buildup aimed at preventing Iran from closing the strategic Strait of Hormuz in the event of a crisis, U.S. officials said.
The tiny SeaFox submersibles each carry an underwater television camera, homing sonar and an explosive charge. The Navy bought them in May after an urgent request by Marine Gen. James Mattis, the top U.S. commander in the Middle East.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “If you are a tax payer in Massachusetts, you get to fund EBT cards for those who want to buy tattoos, manicures, body piercings or porn.” The legislature had the good sense to stop the madness, but it seems that Governor Deval Patrick had other ideas.
“According to the Boston Herald, which first reported the veto, the governor berated the legislature’s stab at banning the purchase of specific items like manicures, tattoos, guns, porn, body piercings, jewelry, and bail by saying the move was ‘political grandstanding’ at a time when such reforms are already on track elsewhere.”

Obama hasn't told a good story; Romney's immigration plans; Romney receives standing ovation at NAACP; Unions and their "Second Bill of Rights" threat; This was Obama's moment; How polls sometimes lie; The end of Clinton's welfare reform; Obama fighting legal elections; How GM skews data to look successful; Obama lies about Bain and outsourcing; Bush tax cut end would give just 8 days of revenue; Black Panthers threaten to burn Detroit down; US Olympic outfits made in China; Public housing residents not allowed to hang American flag outside homes

"When I think about what we've done well and what we haven't done well," the president said, "the mistake of my first term - couple of years - was thinking that this job was just about getting the policy right. And that's important. But the nature of this office is also to tell a story to the American people that gives them a sense of unity and purpose and optimism, especially during tough times."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Is the debate on illegal immigration finally turning serious? Mitt Romney's campaign has laid out an immigration strategy that ends rewards for lawbreaking, stops political pandering and makes rule of law matter again.
'Gov. Romney believes that young illegal immigrants brought here as children should have the chance to become permanent residents if they serve honorably in the U.S. military," a Romney spokeswoman told CNS News this week. "And illegal immigrants should be able to register and get in line with other applicants."
In a nutshell, that two-track option for illegals takes the various thinly disguised amnesty proposals that reward and encourage more illegal immigration, such as the Dream Act, off the table as the only option.
After his speech to the NAACP national convention Wednesday, Romney said he connected with black leaders in private and was assured that the loud and sustained booing he got for promising to repeal the health care reform law didn’t represent the feelings of all African American voters, even if they can’t say so in public.  [Media, of course, focused solely on the booing Mitt received from the NCAA.  They completely hid from us the fact that Mitt got a standing ovation from the audience when he finished his speech.  Also hidden from us was the fact the VP Joe Biden spoke to an almost empty room.  And let's not forget Nancy Pelosi's wonderful comment that Mitt tried to get booed so that he would curry favor with southern racists.  It's a wonderful life when you get to make up your own stories.]
Organized labor has a new request for lawmakers throughout the country: Sign labor’s “Second Bill of Rights” or suffer consequences at the polls in November.
The “bill” — a list of rights and priorities labor is promoting and pushing to be featured at the Democratic and Republican national conventions — takes aim at everything from low wages and uncertain retirement benefits to subpar education and new voting-rights laws. It’s labor’s latest attempt in its promise to hold lawmakers, particularly Democrats, accountable for not backing or promoting certain initiatives. Included on the list of rights labor says Americans deserve: the right to gainful employment and “a living wage”, the right to full participation in the electoral process, the right to collective bargaining and the rights to quality education and secure healthy futures.
“This is our way of asking those in leadership positions: Are you with us?,” AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka said at a press conference in Washington Thursday to discuss plans for the initiative. “If you don’t sign on you obviously don’t support one or more of these” things, he said. The consequences will be felt “at the polls,” Mr. Trumka added.
That threat didn’t seem to be aimed at President Barack Obama
Do you remember the Obama campaign - and when he landed in Germany, telling up to 100,000 Berliners that, as a “fellow citizen of the world,” “This is our moment; this is our time.”?
A huge Pew Forum survey just released shows what President Obama desperately needs to see in the polling: He’s at 50 percent among registered voters, with Mitt Romney at 43 percent. But wait. What’s this? Scroll to the final page and you learn that of the 2373 registered voters, 837 identify as Democrats and only 636 as Republicans.
President Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released an official policy directive undermining the welfare reform law of 1996. The new policy guts the federal work requirements that have been the foundation of that law — one of the most successful domestic policy reforms in the 20th century.
Obama’s new welfare decree guts sound anti-poverty policy. The administration tramples on the actual legislation passed by Congress and seeks to impose its own policy choices — a pattern that has become all too common in this administration.
The result is the end of welfare reform as we know it.
The Obama administration is in federal court this week challenging Texas’ new law requiring voters to show photo identification at the polls.Attorney General Eric Holder told the NAACP yesterday that such laws are like the poll taxes of old intended to keep blacks from voting.  But most voters don’t see it that way.
In fact, Rasmussen Reports polling finds that only 21% of Likely U.S. Voters nationwide think it’s discriminatory to require all voters to prove their identity before being allowed to vote.  Seventy-three percent (73%) disagree and say such a requirement does not discriminate against some voters. That’s consistent with past polling on the topic.

GM’s sales figures for last month were the best since 2008 , up 16% for the month of June. YIPPEE! Well, wait just a minute. It seems that those rosey sales figures are due primarily to a 79% increase in fleet sales to the U.S.government in June. That’s right. Our tax dollars are being used to pump up GM’s sales figures ahead of next month’s quarterly report so that Dear Leader can point to Government Motors as a huge success.  One of GM’s past tricks to help fudge earnings numbers has been to stuff truck inventory channels. Old habits die hard at GM. According to a Bloomberg report, “GM said inventory of its full-size pickups, which will be refreshed next year, climbed to 238,194 at the end of June, a 135 days supply, up from 116 days at the end of May.” 135 days supply is huge, the accepted norm is a 60 day supply. The trick here is that GM records revenue when vehicles go into dealership inventories, not when actually sold to consumers.
"When a president doesn’t tell the truth," the voiceover in the ad says. "How can we trust him to lead?"
"The Obama outsourcing attacks: ‘misleading, unfair and untrue,'" the voiceover continues. "There was ‘no evidence’ that Mitt Romney shipped jobs overseas."
Then, the ad refers to what it considers unfair attacks on Democrat Hillary Clinton during the 2008 campaign. "Candidate Obama lied about Hillary Clinton," the voiceover states, before cutting to a clip of Clinton saying, "So shame on you, Barack Obama."
The ad concludes: "But America expects more from a president. Obama’s dishonest campaign: Another reason America has lost confidence in Barack Obama."
This ad will begin airing immediately, especially, sources tell me, in swing states like Ohio and Virginia.
Disappointingly, last time the issue [the Bush tax cuts] was brought before the Congress, it was estimated to add just $85 billion per year in tax revenue--enough to run the federal government for a mere eight days.
And shamefully for Obama, even though this measure was expectedly defeated in the Republican-dominated House--it could not pass in the Democrat-led Senate either, which he neglected to mention, before blaming this stalemate squarely on ... "the other party."
The real problem for Barack Obama is that his lack of any knowledge about capitalism, which is showing in his continuing to promote this totally "class warfare" oriented bill, and he knows that his growing political impotence cannot even overcome the push-back amongst his own party.
Angry over steps being taken due to a financial emergency in Detroit, New Black Panther Party leader Malik Shabazz declared he would burn the city down.
“This is white on black crime,” he said during public comment at the two hour meeting held Monday afternoon.
“This is white supremacy. Before you can take over our city, we will burn it down,” he added.
According to the Detroit Free Press, Shabazz was one of about 100 angry and defiant Detroiters who attended the meeting.
Lawmakers were outraged Thursday after an ABC World News report revealed that the U.S. Olympic team’s opening ceremony outfits are made in China. Some suggested making a bonfire with the outfits, which include berets and blazers.
“I think they should take all the uniforms, put them in a big pile and burn them and start all over again,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said when asked by ABC News today, “If they have to wear nothing but a symbol that says USA on it, painted by hand, that is what they should wear.”

According to the Sun Chronicle, Massachusetts public housing residents are outraged after they were told they could no longer hang United States flags outside of their homes.
Wednesday afternoon, the Wrentham Housing Authority notified its tenants of a new policy banning the many patriotic flags displayed for Fourth of July celebrations by taping an unsigned letter to their doors.
“The Wrentham Housing Authority has been informed that the public display of the American flag in common areas is not permitted,” the letter read. It further adds that tenants are welcome to display flags anywhere inside their homes including windows, but not outside.

Timbuktu tombs destroyed as idolatrous; Nine Border Patrol stations being shut down; Harry Reid won't put Obama's tax cuts to a vote; "W" doing good in Africa; $20 slush fund for Sec. of Health and Human Services; Changing demographics in this election; 500 million year old bacteria purposely brought back to life; Mayors breaking federal law with sanctuary cities; Stimulus Funds to Chinese government and workers; Yes, Mr. President, we ARE a Christian nation; Dancing couple suing NYC over abusive arrest;

About a dozen militants arrived in an armored four-wheel drive truck, armed with pickaxes and hoes. They fired in the air to intimidate people and started smashing the tombs, said Ibrahim Cisse, who witnessed the scene.
The new destruction comes after attacks last week on other historic and religious landmarks in Timbuktu that UNESCO called "wanton destruction".
Islamists of the Ansar Dine group say the centuries-old shrines of the local Sufi version of Islam are idolatrous. [Oh, that wondrous religion of peace.....]

The Obama administration is moving to shut down nine Border Patrol stations across four states, triggering a backlash from local law enforcement, members of Congress and Border Patrol agents themselves.
Critics of the move warn the closures will undercut efforts to intercept drug and human traffickers in well-traveled corridors north of the U.S.-Mexico border. Though the affected stations are scattered throughout northern and central Texas, and three other states, the coverage areas still see plenty of illegal immigrant activity -- one soon-to-be-shuttered station in Amarillo, Texas, is right in the middle of the I-40 corridor; another in Riverside, Calif., is outside Los Angeles.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection says it's closing the stations in order to reassign agents to high-priority areas closer to the border.

Republicans, eager to put Senate Democrats on record on taxes, tried to force a vote Wednesday on President Obama's proposal to extend middle-class tax cuts but raise taxes for the rich, but Majority Leader Harry Reid objected, essentially sidelining the president's plan.
Sen. Mitch McConnell, Republicans' leader, tried to set up competing votes — one on the GOP's plan to extend all the tax cuts for one year, and another on Mr. Obama's proposal to extend them only for households making $250,000 or less.
But Mr. Reid objected to the request, saying he didn't want to have the vote on the GOP's legislation.

Former President George W. Bush has kept a relatively low profile in the United States since leaving office.  But in Africa this week he is publicly promoting his institute's initiative to prevent and treat cervical cancer. While Bush is following a familiar post-presidential path in supporting humanitarian causes, he would prefer to focus on quiet service, to lead through example and hard work.
He worked alongside other volunteers in Kabwe - Zambia's second-largest city - to renovate a health clinic which specializes in the early detection and treatment of cervical cancer.

The Senate Appropriations Committee has created a $20 million fund for Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to invest in biotech startups, shifting money to a program that some say resembles the Department of Energy’s controversial loan guarantees.
The Strategic Investor initiative allocates $20 million to “allow the Federal Government to partner with small biotechnology companies in order to foster and accelerate the generation of novel medical countermeasures and technologies,” according to the Senate Appropriations Committee.
“That money is coming at the direct expense of funding that would directly fund anti-terrorism preparedness measures,” said a source familiar with the biotech industry.
Elections are about numbers, and right now the president's are bad. To understand why, consider 2008 as a reference point. That year, Barack Obama received 69,456,897 votes to John McCain's 59,934,814.
But a big chunk of President Obama's 9.5 million-vote advantage is probably gone. Let's break this down. According to exit polls, 44.8 million Republicans showed up to vote in 2004 while only 41.4 million did in 2008. Almost all those 3.4 million Republicans who stayed home have been energized by Mr. Obama's agenda and are now eager to vote against him.

Jurassic Park in a Petri dish: Scientists bring 500 million-year-old bacteria back to life - what could possibly go wrong?

  • 'Frankenstein' germ spliced with gene from 500-million-year-old bacteria
  • Bacteria is now thriving in lab
  • Some of the 'chimeric' E Coli is now stronger than normal bacteria
  • Scientists hope to 'restage' evolution
  • Will answer questions about how and why organisms evolve
Much of the recent commentary about the Supreme Court rulings last month had to do with Obamacare and Chief Justice Roberts' controversial decision. Not much has been said about the earlier immigration decision which ruled that Federal immigration laws have precedent over states in most cases. Well, imagine that. This means that all those mayors of U.S. sanctuary cities are breaking federal law and should be sued by the taxpayers. -
Seem billions of dollars of America's Stimulus Funds for American jobs have been given to China-owned companies with Chinese workers!
We are NOT a Christian nation, Mr. President?  Here's a history lesson for you:

A Manhattan couple is suing New York City after an incident last July that began with them swing dancing on a subway platform and ended with them spending a night behind bars.

The couple is suing for unspecified damages, claiming they spent a miserable night behind bars handcuffed and were later told it’s not illegal to dance on the platform after all.
The charges of resisting arrest and blocking the flow of traffic were eventually dropped.
The New York City Law Department is reviewing the lawsuit.

Pete Hoekstra's past; Wealthy pay far more than their fair share; NAACP's I.D. requirement; Americans like AZ immigration laws; The best golden parachute; Agenda 21 and Rio+20; Air Force base converted to training drone operators; Utah Garden Challenge - beware, gardeners; Another Obamacare lie exposed; Dancing couple arrested by ninja cops; Obama's half-brother makes film debut

Do you need another reason to vote for Pete Hoekstra - other than how experienced he is from being on the House Intelligence Committee, helping to develop the Contract with America, helping to overturn the results of a corrupt union election, being endorsed by the Michigan Right to Life, working for energy independence and getting straight A's from the NRA?  The Pete Hoekstra I read about on Facebook is not the one I know.  Check out this one minute video of Hoestra's response to Obamacare:
Wealthy Americans earn about 50 percent of all income but pay nearly 70 percent of the federal tax burden, according to the latest analysis Tuesday by the Congressional Budget Office — though the agency said the very richest have seen their share of taxes fall the past few years.
CBO looked at 2007 through 2009 — the latest years data are available, but enough to include the early effects of the last recession — and found the bottom 20 percent of American earners paid just three-tenths of a percent of the total federal tax burden, while the richest 20 percent paid 67.9 percent of taxes.
The top 1 percent, whom President Obama has made a target during the presidential campaign, earned 13.4 percent of all pre-tax income but paid 22.3 percent of taxes in 2009, CBO said. When tax burden is figured in, the top 1 percent took in only 11.5 percent of income.

NAACP Requires Photo I.D. to See Holder Speak in State Being Sued Over Voter ID

After the Supreme Court upheld Arizona’s law allowing police to check immigration status of those they stop in the course of their duties, an overwhelming majority of Americans say they want to see their own states enact the same kinds of laws.
The latest The Washington Times/JZ Analytics survey, released Monday night, found about two-thirds of all likely voters would like to see their own police be able to check status during routine traffic stops. Support was high across most demographics, including self-identified Republicans and independents, and even Hispanics favored the policy by a 55 percent to 41 percent margin.
In the history of golden parachutes it has to be the most generous of them all.

The world’s judges, prosecutors and legal experts have adopted a powerful call to action to build capacity for implementation and enforcement of national environmental laws at the conclusion of UNEP’s Rio+20 side event on justice, law, and governance. “The Rio+20 Declaration on Justice, Governance and Law for Environmental Sustainability” recognizes the critical importance of national compliance promotion as part of an effective governance strategy to meet green economy and sustainable development objectives.
The Declaration was the outcome of the first ever gathering of more than 200 Chief Justices, Attorneys General, Auditors General, Chief Prosecutors, and other high-ranking representatives of the judicial, legal and auditing professions during the World Congress on Justice, Governance and Law for Environmental Sustainability held on 17-20 June 2012 in Rio de Janeiro.
Following four days of discussions on the role of these communities in achieving environmental sustainability, the participants reached agreement to adopt the Declaration, which stresses the primacy of strong enforcement institutions and underscores the importance of networking among its main actors.  [International Network for Environmental Compliance and Enforcement]

Today many of the pilots at Holloman never get off the ground. The base has been converted into the U.S. Air Force’s primary training center for drone operators, where pilots spend their days in sand-colored trailers near a runway from which their planes take off without them. Inside each trailer, a pilot flies his plane from a padded chair, using a joystick and throttle, as his partner, the “sensor operator,” focuses on the grainy images moving across a video screen, directing missiles to their targets with a laser.
Holloman sits on almost 60,000 acres of desert badlands, near jagged hills that are frosted with snow for several months of the year — a perfect training ground for pilots who will fly Predators and Reapers over the similarly hostile terrain of Afghanistan. When I visited the base earlier this year with a small group of reporters, we were taken into a command post where a large flat-screen television was broadcasting a video feed from a drone flying overhead. It took a few seconds to figure out exactly what we were looking at. A white S.U.V. traveling along a highway adjacent to the base came into the cross hairs in the center of the screen and was tracked as it headed south along the desert road. When the S.U.V. drove out of the picture, the drone began following another car.
“Wait, you guys practice tracking enemies by using civilian cars?” a reporter asked. One Air Force officer responded that this was only a training mission, and then the group was quickly hustled out of the room.
The Utah Garden Challenge is a voluntary contest to register 10,000 gardens. The data mining project has a broad interest in any “resource” who is growing food:
Whether you grow a tomato in a pot, a row in a community garden, have backyard gardens, a CSA or working fruit and vegetable farm, we want to hear from you because you are an important resource as a food producer.
While the contest paints a proud face on independent food production, it is important to remember that registering with the government sets up a system to track, tax, permit or confiscate the registered item. Gun ownership is a good example of this scheme.
According to a pop-up window on the official website, participants’ gardens will be registered with the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS):
Another lie from the Obama administration has been exposed,” said Charles Benninghoff,Publisher of American Patriot. “Based on the evidence that was provided to us,we now know that many American workers are already being impacted negatively by Obamacare.”
Among the evidence that American Patriot has published, the source’s employer asked for an exemption from Obamacare until 2013 in order to avoid providing $1.25 million in coverage for every worker. Once the exemption was granted, the employee benefits were reduced to just 10 percent of what was originally provided.
“Our source and other Americans with health problems now have to make a painful choice,” said Benninghoff. “They can either find their own coverage, which will be even more expensive,or go on the government-run Obamacare scheme. Most Americans don’t want to opt for a government program, but they’re being forced into it – which was the plan of the Obama administration all along.”
It was nearly midnight when Stern and Hess, a film-industry prop master, headed home last July from Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night’s Swing. As they waited for the train, a musician started playing steel drums on the nearly empty platform and Stern and Hess began to feel the beat.
“We were doing the Charleston,” Stern said. That’s when two police officers approached and pulled a “Footloose.”
“They said, ‘What are you doing?’ and we said, ‘We’re dancing,’ ” she recalled. “And they said, ‘You can’t do that on the platform.’ ”
The cops asked for ID, but when Stern could only produce a credit card, the officers ordered the couple to go with them — even though the credit card had the dentist’s picture and signature.
When the couple tried to film the order, Stern says the officers called for backup.
“That’s when eight ninja cops came from out of nowhere,” she said.  Her boyfriend was allegedly tackled to the floor, and then both were handcuffed.
The initial charge was reportedly disorderly conduct for “impeding the flow of traffic,” but Stern argued that “there were like, three people [on the platform].”

Taxing the middle class; More go on disability than got jobs; DNC Chair pretty happy with jobs numbers; Another reason to vote Republican; Supreme Court on union dues; Obama outsources stimulus funds; FL lifeguard offered his job back; The naked contempt of Obama; Horrifying MI testing scores; MI limits government takeover of more land; Russian bombers in our airspace once again; Republican governors have lower unemployment; Public school workers doubled while students increased 8.5%; The farm bill is food stamps

The president announced today that he favors a one-year extension of the Bush tax cuts for families making less than $250,000 a year — and a tax hike for millions of others. Considering the persistently bad employment, manufacturing, and growth numbers, maybe the president should take a trip down memory lane to 2009, when he said “you don’t raise taxes in a recession.” [This falls into the category of knowing that whenever you see his lips moving, he is lying. Some Democrats want the line in the sand to be $1million.]
Did you know that in the month of June MORE AMERICAN PEOPLE WENT ON DISABILITY THAN FOUND JOBS?    Do you realize that our "poor" citizens mostly have cell phones, cars, tv, air-conditioning, free food, etc.?
However, Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) was far more optimistic, saying she was “pretty happy” about the latest jobs numbers.
The president hailed the June jobs data as “a step in the right direction.” Republicans slammed Obama’s choice of words, saying it recalled his recent assertion that “the private sector is doing fine,” despite myriad indications to the contrary.
The president told supporters in Pittsburgh that under his leadership, “we’ve started to see manufacturing come back to our shores.”
However, just last week, the Institute for Supply Management’s reported that U.S. manufacturing activity contracted for the first time in three years.
Many conservatives are angry with Chief Justice John Roberts, whose decisive vote in late June not only sustained a disastrous health-care law. It also interpreted the Constitution to permit Congress to penalize behavior through its taxing power that it cannot control through its power to regulate commerce.
All of this underscores that in terms of lasting importance, the power to control Supreme Court nominations is the grand prize in the coming presidential election. Long after Barack Obama and Mitt Romney fade in our memories, the Supreme Court justices one of them appoints will still be rendering the rulings that determine the future course of our nation.
The U.S. Supreme Court, in a hat tip to common sense, decided yesterday that nonunion members can opt out of union fees that are targeted towards political purposes.
“Labor unions must give nonmember workers ‘fresh notice’ of unplanned increases in fees or assessments -- money that might be used for political purposes -- the Supreme Court ruled Thursday,” according to CNN.
For labor unions around the country, it serves as a painful reminder that when they decided to go all-in for Obama in 2008, they alienated the rest of us non-government, non-union members- the 99 Percent- who have to go out and earn our keep every day. And that alienation is being felt in political defeats by unions around the country.

Republicans are looking to flip the script on President Obama's frequent charges that Mitt Romney supported the outsourcing of American jobs with a new push Tuesday to highlight instances that stimulus dollars helped companies create jobs overseas.

At an event in Iowa on Tuesday, RNC chairman Reince Priebus will debut a new website — — that features companies that received stimulus dollars and opened factories in foreign countries. Among the examples: a solar panel factory in Mexico, windmills in Denmark, and a battery manufacturer in South Korea.

HALLANDALE BEACH (CBSMiami) – Lifeguard Tomas Lopez’s journey this week has been all over the map. He went from being hailed for helping save a life, to being fired for leaving his beach, to being offered his job back.
But Monday, Lopez will once again be hailed, this time by Hallandale Beach. Mayor Joy Cooper told CBS4’s Carey Codd Friday that Lopez will receive a key to the city in a Monday morning news conference.
"That's it," I thought: contempt.  Never have we seen a president so full of naked contempt for any person or idea or policy that does not accord with his own vision, plans, and beliefs.  Obama doesn't just disagree with others; he holds them in contempt.
Obama has shown contempt for American friends and allies.  He insulted the Czechs and Poles when he unilaterally and without warning repudiated our missile defense agreements with them.  His contemptuous snubs and denigrations of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu are notorious.  He recently showed contempt for the British by refusing to say he would recognize Britain's claim to sovereignty over the Falkland Islands, even if the Falklands' residents voted for British sovereignty in a plebiscite.  And just as Jimmy Carter ensured the shah's departure by rejecting him, so Obama paved the way for the Muslim Brotherhood's rise to power in Egypt by snubbing, ignoring, and abandoning a flawed ally rather than work with him to encourage reforms.
The president has shown his contempt for American voters in various ways, from whispering to Russian leader Medvedev that he will be able to concede more to Putin after he wins re-election to having the Justice Department fight state voter ID laws to decreeing that illegal immigrants be given work permits that will lead to driver's licenses that will lead to illegals being registered to vote under various "motor voter" statutes. [The latest school exam results for Michigan are devastating!    Those passing various subjects are as follows, according to the Petoskey News Review:
Science   26%
Social Studies 41%
Writing 49%
Reading 56%
Math 29%
This leaves, according to the paper few high school juniors who are "college ready"
Average ACT scores, out of a possible 36 are:
Boyne City: 20.10
Charlevoix: 20.1
East Jordan: 18.8
Petoskey: 21.2
State Average: 19.6
At nearly 80 Michigan schools, NONE of the students were considered to be college ready.  How does that reflect on our Department of Education, Teachers and their unions, and parents of the students?
I also wish to ask members of public unions what they think about THEIR  union dues going for the purchase of fancy resorts which are used for junkets for the union leaders?  Do they get to go to "their" resorts?
From the Petoskey News Review comes word that Governor Snyder signed into law a limit on Michigan's ability to acquire even more land, making Agenda 21 detractors happy and environmentalists mad.
Two Russian strategic nuclear bombers entered the U.S. air defense zone near the Pacific coast on Wednesday [July 4] and were met by U.S. interceptor jets, defense officials told the Free Beacon.
It was the second time Moscow dispatched nuclear-capable bombers into the 200-mile zone surrounding U.S. territory in the past two weeks.
An earlier intrusion by two Tu-95 Bear H bombers took place near Alaska as part of arctic war games that a Russian military spokesman said included simulated attacks on “enemy” air defenses and strategic facilities.
A defense official said the Pacific coast intrusion came close to the U.S. coast but did not enter the 12-mile area that the U.S. military considers sovereign airspace.

In 2010, influenced by the Tea Party and its focus on fiscal issues, 17 states elected Republican governors. And, according to an analysis, every one of those states saw a drop in their unemployment rates since January of 2011.

President Obama said last month that America can educate its way to prosperity if Congress sends money to states to prevent public school layoffs and "rehire even more teachers."Since 1970, the public school workforce has roughly doubled—to 6.4 million from 3.3 million—and two-thirds of those new hires are teachers or teachers' aides. Over the same period, enrollment rose by a tepid 8.5%. Employment has thus grown 11 times faster than enrollment. If we returned to the student-to-staff ratio of 1970, American taxpayers would save about $210 billion annually in personnel costs.
A full 78% of the soon-to-be-voted-upon Farm Bill simply pays for FOOD STAMPS!  and nutrition programs.  Are you happy about that?

  • A Circuit Court has decided that Florida election law applies to everyone but Barack Hussein Obama. In response to a suit brought by Florida resident and Democrat Party member Michael Voeltz challenging Obama’s eligibility to the Florida ballot, Circuit Court Judge Terry Lewis ruled that Florida election law “…is not applicable to the nomination of a candidate for Office of President of the United States.”  This means that the Florida Statute which says, “the… nomination of any person to office…may be contested in the circuit court…by any elector or any taxpayer…” is null and void when it comes to Mr. Obama’s nomination to the presidency.
“If the plaintiff was challenging the candidate’s eligibility for any other office, his analysis would be correct and [the law] would apply,” said Lewis of Voeltz’s suit. However, according to the Judge, “…Political parties determine their [presidential] nominee at a national convention pursuant to rules that the parties draft and approve…”  In short, Mr. Voeltz’s contest of Barack Obama’s eligibility will NEVER be permitted in a Florida court; for voters do not nominate the president, political parties do in balloon filled convention halls! With this ruling, Lewis has spared Barack Obama the necessity of having to prove his eligibility for office as no Florida voter will have the right to question it, the language of the state’s election law notwithstanding!
Now that conservatives and libertarians are beginning to recover from the injuries they sustained by banging their heads against walls, desks, and other hard objects on June 28, perhaps it's a good time to introduce a ray of hope that might have seemed absurdly Pollyannaish during the dark hours immediately following the Supreme Court's surreal Obamacare ruling. Although the voters can put an end to the madness on November 6, the states don't need to wait until Election Day to take aim at a point of vulnerability that remains in place despite the Court's latest caprice. They can refuse to implement the law's insurance exchanges.
Well, as the Cato Institute's Michael Cannon succinctly puts it, "Without these bureaucracies, Obamacare cannot work." And, oddly enough, the law doesn't actually require states to set up these "marketplaces." Moreover, there is no rational incentive for them to do so. If a state sets up an exchange, it then must pay for it, which won't be cheap. Cannon writes, "States that opt to create an exchange can expect to pay anywhere from $10 million to $100 million per year to run it." This is a burden that the states, most of which are already in deep financial trouble, are not likely to embrace with enthusiasm.  [To read of the seven states which have refused to set up insurance exchanges, read here:]
Two-thirds of likely voters say President Obama has kept his 2008 campaign promise to change America — but it’s changed for the worse, according to a sizable majority.
Attorney General Eric Holder could lose his license to practice law in the District of Columbia, or face some other penalty from the D.C. Bar, now that he has been found in criminal and civil contempt of Congress.
Last week, the bloggers who first exposed Operation Fast and Furious, Mike Vanderboegh and David Codrea, filed a formal complaint with the Washington, D.C. Office of Bar Counsel alleging that Holder committed “professional misconduct” during the congressional investigation into the scandal.
Speaking in Sandusky, Ohio on July 5, President Barack Obama used the first-person pronouns “I” and “me” a combined 117 times in a speech that lasted about 25 minutes and 32 seconds.
But what change? Taxing rich people won’t create jobs. Neither will bashing Bain Capital. Obama is surrounded by leftist campaign advisers. And it’s hard to see them shifting gears to something constructive like making a summer deal to extend the Bush tax cuts for a year, or heaven forbid backing off the 20-some-odd tax hikes embodied in Obamacare.
In other words, Obama’s goose may already be cooked.
Top Olympics officials questioned whether it was appropriate to allow fast-food chain McDonald’s to continue sponsoring the games amid mounting concern about the global obesity crisis, the International Olympic Committee president has admitted.

  • The youth unemployment rate for 18-29 year olds specifically (NSA) for June 2012 is 12.8 percent.
  • The declining labor participation rate has created an additional 1.735 million young adults that are not counted as “unemployed” by BLS because they are not in the labor force, meaning that those young people have given up looking for work due to the lack of jobs.
  • If the labor force participation rate were factored into the overall 18-29 youth unemployment calculation, the actual 18-29-unemployment rate would rise to 16.8 percent (NSA).

780,000 More Women Unemployed Today Than When Obama Took Office

The Republican Study Committee has listed on their website the 219 bills passed by our Republican House of Representatives having to do with improvements in health care, contrary to what the Democrats are saying about them not providing any alternatives.

[Just for openers:] Obamacare contains 20 new or higher taxes on American families and small businesses. Arranged by their respective sizes according to CBO scores, below is the total list of all $500 billion-plus in tax hikes (over the next ten years) in Obamacare, their effective dates, and where to find them in the bill.

$123 Billion: Surtax on Investment Income (Takes effect Jan. 2013): A new, 3.8 percent surtax on investment income earned in households making at least $250,000 ($200,000 single). This would result in the following top tax rates on investment income:

    Capital Gains

Despite claiming Obamacare was “not a tax,” Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that the Internal Revenue Service would be the “easiest enforcer” of penalties against those who refuse to comply with the new health care law.
“The way we usually think of taxation, Wolf, is that taxation as the IRS administers is collected on broad swaths and large categories of individuals,” Wasserman Schultz said. “This is a penalty that will be assessed on the tax return if you choose to roll the dice and make us all pay for your being irresponsible and increase all of our health care costs.”
“We’re not going to tolerate that any more in America. You have to be responsible and you have to pay a penalty if you choose not to be,” she added.
However, that could only mark the beginning of a massive expansion of the IRS as a result of Obamacare. Back in 2010 it was reported that as many as 16,500 extra armed IRS agents were being hired to harass Americans into complying with the new mandates.
Congressman Ron Paul responded by asking why so many armed agents were required to enforce a law that the Obama administration has promoted as beneficial to the American people.
“16,500 armed bureaucrats coming to make this program work – if it was a good program and everybody liked it, you wouldn’t need 16,500 thugs coming with their guns and putting you in jail if you didn’t follow all the rules,” said Paul.
Voters could get the right to overrule federal laws and mandates under the terms of an initiative filed late Thursday. The Arizona Constitution already says the federal Constitution "is the supreme law of the land." This measure, if approved in November, it would add language saying that federal document may not be violated by any government -- including the federal government.
More to the point, it would allow Arizonans "to reject any federal action that they determine violates the United States Constitution."
That could occur through a vote of the state House and Senate with consent of the governor.
But that also could occur through a popular vote on a ballot measure, effectively allowing voters to decide which federal laws they feel infringe on Arizona's rights as a sovereign state.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [The topic here is that Maria Sharapova may have benefited from the radiation from Chernoble]: Chernobyl nuclear disaster has spawned a generation of "mutant" super brainy children.  Kids growing up in areas damaged by radiation from the plant have a higher IQ and faster reaction times, say Russian doctors.  They are also growing faster and have stronger immune systems.  Radiation from the Ukrainian Chernobyl plant swept the globe and affected more than seven million people.  Professor Vladimir Mikhalev from Bryansk State University has tracked the health of youngsters growing up in areas hit by the fallout since the 1986 accident.  He compared their mental agility and health to those in unaffected areas and found they came out tops in tests. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------arack Obama has an accountability problem. It’s not simply that during the 2008 campaign he made extravagant promises to heal the planet, slow the rise of the oceans, end political divisions in America, and usher in an era of hope and change. It’s that as a candidate and in the early days of his presidency, Obama and his top aides made a series of very specific promises on a range of issues.
