Chilling 13 minute video on Obama; The truth about GM; "Every man has a black sheep"; Gov't defends HHS Mandate on birth control; Axelrod intimidates polling firm; Republicans did not stand on the sidelines; Clint describes greatest hoax; Another deadline missed by White House; A movie must see: "Occupy Unmasked" ;

*Case Closed: If Moderate Voters See This Video, It’s Over for Obama

This is a stunning thirteen minute video that shows Obama in his own words, with commentary from mostly mainstream media sources. If this video goes viral and reaches moderate and independent voters, it would be a big blow to the Obama re-election bid. [Yes, it lasts 13 1/2 minutes.  You need to find the time to watch it!  It's your homework for the day.  It is Obama in his own words, and it is chilling.]
Following taxpayer bailout of  GM, 70% of GM cars and trucks were made outside the United States, mostly in China, mostly government owned manufacturers.  This arrangement 13 years ago included the transfer of our technology to the Chinese.  There are 11 joint ventures in China. [It has been widely written that GM is about to need another bailout to stay in business.  I will remind you that part of the bailout particulars is that GM will not have to pay corporate taxes for TEN YEARS.  So much for Obama's words of making corporations pay their fair share of taxes.]
Though they may spar across the political aisle, Vice President Dick Cheney is close enough to Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama to call him “cousin.” Eighth cousin, that is.
A spokesman for Obama, who wants to be the first black U.S. president, offered a tongue-in-cheek response. “Every family has a black sheep,” said spokesman Bill Burton.
Last week the Government filed its opposition to Thomas More Law Center’s motion for Preliminary Injunction in its case to stop the HHS mandate.  The motion was filed on behalf of Legatus, a nonprofit organization of Catholic business leaders and Michigan-based Weingartz Supply Company, and its owner Daniel Weingartz.  Earlier, Federal District Judge Robert H. Cleland, at the request of the Government, moved the date for hearing oral arguments from September 26, 2012 to September 28, 2012.   The hearing is scheduled for 9:30am at the U.S. Courthouse in Detroit, Michigan. - -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Daily Caller’s Matthew Boyle reports that emails between senior officials at The Gallup Organization, show senior Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod attempted to intimidate the polling firm when its poll results found Mitt Romney leading President Obama.
According to Boyle,  after Gallup declined to change its polling methodology, Obama’s Department of Justice hit it with an unrelated lawsuit:
“Since Gallup first roused Axelrod’s ire, Obama’s Justice Department revived old allegations against the firm that, according to now former Gallup employee Michael Lindley, the polling company violated the False Claims Act by over-charging the federal government for its services.”
Boyle explains that “Michael Lindley was a field organizer in Council Bluffs, Iowa, for then-Sen. Obama’s 2008 run for president before joining Gallup, a fact omitted from the DOJ’s legal filings and from most press accounts.”
In a very Nixonian abuse of power the Obama/Holder Justice Department announced it was joining the lawsuit on August 22, 2012.
On Thursday, Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.) made some bold claims about the GOP’s handling of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid — the nation’s largest, most intensely valued — and most controversial — entitlement programs. The congressman said that “Republicans stood on the sidelines” when these programs were created, a notion that PolitiFact found to be false .  Read all five here:
AFTER A week as topic No. 1 in American politics, former Carmel Mayor Clint Eastwood said the outpouring of criticism from left-wing reporters and liberal politicians after his appearance at the Republican National Convention last Thursday night, followed by an avalanche of support on Twitter and in the blogosphere, is all the proof anybody needs that his 12-minute discourse achieved exactly what he intended it to.

“President Obama is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people,” Eastwood told The Pine Cone this week. “Romney and Ryan would do a much better job running the country, and that’s what everybody needs to know. I may have irritated a lot of the lefties, but I was aiming for people in the middle.”
John Nolte of Breitbart said: That's right, New Media had Eastwood's back and the old, dying corrupt media wasn't able to get away with its "manufactured reality" this time.
The White House on Friday said it will miss the legal deadline for delivering a report to Congress on the spending cuts from sequestration that are scheduled to take effect in 2013.
Spokesman Jay Carney told reporters on Air Force One that the report will be coming next week.
Under the terms of the Sequestration Transparency Act signed in August, President Obama was to tell Congress by Friday how the administration plans to implement the $109 billion in automatic cuts mandated by the Budget Control Act.

The Occupy Wall Street movement’s dark underbelly is on full display in an explosive new documentary set for release later this month.
"Occupy Unmasked," produced by the non-profit group Citizens United and the late Andrew Breitbart, in one of his last projects before his death last March, examines the movement and its possible links to organized labor and leftist groups. Its premiere in theaters on Sept. 21 follows the release of the documentary "2016: Obama's America," providing more cinematic fodder for the president’s critics ahead of the Nov. 6 election. was given an advanced screening of the 70-plus minute film in which Breitbart presents the case against the Occupy Movement, suggesting it was not a spontaneous event that sprouted up in downtown Manhattan, but a methodically planned uprising carefully organized by unions, left-wing activists and even members of the mainstream media.

Arizona law for secret ballots deemed Constitutional; Krauthammer stunned about Obama's empty speech; GAO says Obama DID gut Clinton welfare rules; The look; NYT writes on the Competitor-in-chief; Obama/Boehner; Dems removal of God; The Obama vision for America; Half of U.S. Miltiary bases abroad lack offices for voting; Convention turns down gifts from churches; Selling Obama; Venezuela seized U.S. flagged ship; State Dept. refused to name the Capital of Israel; Threat on Romney might be followed-up; Dem delegates wants to ban corporate profits

In a rebuke to a 2011 Obama administration demand calling for Arizona to repudiate the voter-approved protection of secret balloting in union elections, U.S. District Court Judge Frederick Martone today granted Summary Judgment in favor of the State’s position that the law is constitutional, Attorney General Tom Horne announced. “This is a stinging rebuke to an outrageous National Labor Relations Board attack made in 2011 when that panel tried to subvert the sanctity of the secret ballot,” Horne said.
CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: I was stunned. This is a man who gave one of the great speeches of our time in 2004, and he gave one of the emptiest speeches I have ever heard on a national stage. Yes, it had cadence, and yes, there were deceptions in it, but that is not what is so striking about it. There was nothing in it. This is a man who believes that government can and should do a lot. There is nothing in here that tells us how he's going to go from today to tomorrow. For any of the so called goals and what government is going to do, what is he going to enact?

At least Romney had a five point plan. What we heard from Obama was a vision. And he pulls numbers out of a hat. 100,000 new math and science teachers. 600,000 more people working in natural gas. Two million more trainees, and he doesn't say how we get from A to B. It's a vision. I have a vision of an America where there is no disease and everybody has a private airplane, but unless I tell you how we get there, I’ve said nothing. And what is so surprising, is that - all he had left - he can't speak about his record on the economy, and it's not a good one. As we heard, he didn't speak about achievements, the one that's liberals like, ObamaCare, stimulus and etc… they're unpopular.
In another blow to the so-called fact-checking propaganda wing of the Democrat Party, the Government Accountability Office (GAO), said yesterday that the Obama regime must give Congress the chance to block President Obama’s scheme that lets states change, some say “gut,” the Clinton-era welfare to work rules Obama long opposed:
“In July, the Obama administration offered states more latitude in how they can run cash-assistance programs that replaced the welfare system after the 1996 overhaul passed by Congress and signed in to law by President Bill Clinton. … ‘It must be submitted to Congress and the comptroller general before taking effect,’ wrote Lynn H. Gibson, GAO’s general counsel, in a letter to the lawmakers on Tuesday.”
This is exactly the same look you'd get from your friends
if you told them you plan to vote for Obama. [I only wish]
A Sunday New York Times front page story — New York Times! — might have killed President Obama’s re-election hopes.

The story is called “The Competitor in Chief — Obama Plays To Win, In Politics and Everything Else” ... [and it] is devastating. ...

“I think that I’m a better speechwriter than my speechwriters,” Mr. Obama told Patrick Gaspard, his political director, at the start of the 2008 campaign, according to The New Yorker. “I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I’ll tell you right now that I’m going to think I’m a better political director than my political director.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The book, "The Price of Politics," on sale Sept. 11, 2012, shows how close the president and the House speaker were to defying Washington odds and establishing a spending framework that included both new revenues and major changes to long-sacred entitlement programs.
But at a critical juncture, with an agreement tantalizingly close, Obama pressed Boehner for additional taxes as part of a final deal -- a miscalculation, in retrospect, given how far the House speaker felt he'd already gone.
The president called three times to speak with Boehner about his latest offer, according to Woodward. But the speaker didn't return the president's phone call for most of an agonizing day, in what Woodward calls a "monumental communications lapse" between two of the most powerful men in the country.
The Democratic Party’s symbolic dismissal of God with the removal and forced return of His name to its platform by party officials amid boos from delegates could be the turning point in the 2012 presidential campaign said talk radio-host Michael Savage.
And how about CLinton saying "President Obama’s approach embodies the values, the ideas, and the direction America must take to build a 21st century version of the American Dream in a nation of shared opportunities, shared prosperity and shared responsibilities."

The Pentagon’s Inspector General discovered nearly half of U.S. military bases abroad lack offices where troops can register to vote or apply for absentee ballots.

The Pentagon’s report notes the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment (MOVE) Act, which President Barack Obama signed into law in 2009, requires an installation voting assistance office (IVAO) on every military base that is not in a war zone. The Pentagon attempted to contact the offices at 229 military bases, but could only reach 114 IVAOs.  -
The Democratic National Committee banned dozens of Charlotte churches from distributing gift baskets to delegates because the congregations hold values that are contrary to the party platform, according to local religious leaders.

“They told us our views on women’s rights are contrary to the Democratic party platform,” said David Benham, the lead organizer of the Charlotte714 religious movement.
Charlotte714 is a group of more than 100 churches across the region that mobilized to pray for the Democratic National Convention. More than 9,000 people gathered last Sunday for a time of worship and prayer in advance of the convention.-
The Venezuelan government has seized a U.S. flagged ship and detained its captain for more than a week. Yet after four hours in port, the ship was boarded and searched by armed security personel, and the captain was detained on suspicion of trafficking in arms or drugs. [This article does not even ask why our government is not intervening.]
The State Department today again refused to name the capital of Israel, even after being questioned by the press and even after the Democratic party (President Obama's party) voted yesterday to add language to its platform stating that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.-
A spokesman for the Secret Service said the agency is “aware” of the video published by TheBlaze that featured a Democratic National Convention delegate saying she would like to “kill” Mitt Romney.
“We are aware of it and we will conduct the appropriate follow-up,” Secret Service spokesman George Ogilvie told TheBlaze Thursday.
Ogilvie said he could not talk specifically about what kind of follow-up the agency was conducting.
In TheBlaze’s video, a woman who identified herself as New York delegate Julia Rodriguez said Romney would “destroy this country” if elected president.
“He will destroy this country completely, she said. “Romney will destroy his country…if I see him I would like to kill him.”
At the Democratic National Convention, where one speaker after the next swears they love free enterprise, delegates and attendees (maybe some media, who knows?) were asked by Peter Schiff, posing as a anti-corporate activist,  if they would support capping or banning corporate profit.
Well, there seems to be plenty of enthusiasm for the idea in Charlotte this week — and not from the fringe. “We deliberately avoided speaking with the occupy protestors camping outside in tents to get a more “mainstream” Democratic perspective,” writes Schiff.

My empty chair; A one sentence definition of Obamacare; Israel and God at the DNC; Arab delegates furious; Mitt requests civility; Michelle's viewership at DNC; Be wary of Obama claims;

Here is my rendition of "the empty chair" representing Obama, enlarging on Clint Eastwood's "empty chair speech" at the RNC - We shall have to mop up his mess!
This spontaneous movement replacing the typical Labor Day honorees shows a wonderful sense of humor.  Actually, ridicule is one of Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals, the playbook of radical leftists, as it angers the target because it belittles him.

As townhall wrote: Saul Alinsky was a brilliant man. Evil, but brilliant. Unfortunately, whether we like it or not, everyone on the Left from the President on down is playing by his rules in the political arena. Not all liberals have read his book or know his name, but his tactics have become universal. Sadly for conservatives, when two evenly matched forces go head-to-head outside of a fairy tale, the side that tries to play nice usually ends up with its head in a box. So, don't lie or become an evil person like Alinsky, but learn from what he wrote and give the Left a taste of its own medicine.
[Some of those rules]: Always remember the first rule of power tactics: Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have. The second rule is: Never go outside the experience of your people.
…The third rule is: Wherever possible go outside the experience of the enemy. Here you want to cause confusion, fear, and retreat.
…the fourth rule is: Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules.
…the fourth rule carries within it the fifth rule: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.
If you will take the time to watch this short video, you will be amazed at Dr. Barbara Gellar, candidate for the Illinois State Senate, as she describes in one long sentence just what Obamacare represents.

For those of you who won't go there and get a chuckle, here is her sentence: "Let me get this straight.  We are going to be gifted with a healthcare plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't; which purportedly covers at least 10 million new people without adding a single new doctor, but which provides 16,000 new IRS agents; written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it; passed by a Congress that didn't read it, but exempted themselves from it; signed by a President who smokes; with funding administered by a Treasury Chief who didn't pay his taxes; for which we will be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect; by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare; all to be overseen by a Surgeon General who is obese; and financed by a country that's already broke........   So what the blank could possible go wrong?"
[Concerning the contentious issue of Israel in the DNC platform] Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, the Convention chairman, needed to take three separate votes to get the motion passed and he was booed when he ruled it in. That’s because the crowd of delegates on the floor sounded more split 50-50, than having delivered the two-thirds majority needed, CBS 2′s Marcia Kramer reported.
Jewish leaders reacted swiftly.
“The principle that Jerusalem should remain united and is the capital of Israel has been enshrined for a long time,” said Malcolm Hoenlein, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.
“It concerns me. It concerns every Jew,” said Chanina Sperlin, Executive VP of the Crown Heights Council. “It’s a big mistake leaving that out of the party platform.”
Many Palestinians were also annoyed. They want Jerusalem as the capital of a Palestinian state.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The president of a top Arab American group is lashing out at the 11th hour political maneuvering that restored language about Israel capital to the Democratic convention platform — calling the move “insulting to my community.”
Dr. James Zogby, president of the Arab American Institute, a DNC delegate and a member of the convention’s platform committee, blasted the re-insertion of language affirming that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel in an interview with POLITICO.
“I think it was embarrassing,” Zogby said. “What bothers me is the way it was done.”
Mitt Romney's campaign issued a statement Wednesday demanding Democratic officials "cease and desist from comparing those with whom they disagree to Nazis" after the chairman of the South Carolina Democratic Party compared Gov. Nikki Haley (R-S.C.) to Adolf Hitler mistress Eva Braun.
"The latest offender is Dick Harpootlian, the South Carolina Democratic Party chairman, whose outrageous words I will not repeat," said former Sen. Norm Coleman (Minn.) in a statement released by the Romney campaign. "In recent days, we’ve seen similarly disgraceful statements from a top Kansas Democratic delegate and from the chairman of the California Democratic Party.
"President Obama has called for civility in American politics. If his call is to be taken seriously, it’s time for the President to rein in those of his supporters and allies who are trivializing Nazism while also shamelessly trampling on the most basic rules of American political discourse.”
Overall, the speech [Michelle Obama's] attracted around 11 million viewers on the three broadcast networks. That’s about 400,000 fewer viewers than watched Ann Romney’s speech. But, the really bad news for Obama is the massive drop in viewers from 2008.
NBC won the coverage, as it did for the RNC last week. But, its viewership was down 24% from ’08. For its RNC coverage on the first night, viewership was actually 8% higher than ’08.

Be wary of these 5 claims by Obama

“I’m also going to ask anybody making over $250,000 a year to go back to the tax rates they were paying under Bill Clinton.”
Here, Obama is defending his proposal to boost taxes on the wealthy by noting that the tax rate would be the same as under Clinton. The Bush tax cut set the top rate on income at 35 percent; Obama would restore it to the 39.6 percent rate set during Clinton’s presidency.
But while Social Security taxes are capped, there is no cap on Medicare payroll taxes. Obama does not mention that the health-care law included a 0.9 percent Medicare surtax on incomes over $200,000 for individuals and $250,000 for couples filing joint returns. -
“Nearly 7 million young people have health insurance because they’re able to stay on their parents’ plans.”
Obama has framed this assertion different ways, sometimes more accurately than the quote above.
The Department of Health and Human Services reported in June that more than 3 million young adults would not have health insurance without the health-care law. So how does Obama get to say that nearly 7 million “have insurance” because of the law?
The total number of jobs — private and government — created in the United States from February 2010 until now is 4 million. The job-growth number is still negative if you start counting from the beginning of Obama’s presidency.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, job creation in Obama’s presidency is plus or minus a few hundred thousand jobs, depending on whether you date his presidency from January or February. At this point, Obama is on track to have the worst jobs record of any president since World War II.

Forward Back Across the Bridge to the 21st Century

Written yesterday: Today, in Charlotte, NC, the Democrats will convene their convention to re-nominate Barack Obama as President of the United States. There are two ironies they will do their best to ignore. First, four years after a concerted effort to paint Bill Clinton as a racist, Barack Obama depends on Bill Clinton’s presence and blessings to secure his re-election. [It is interesting that the same man who once told Ted Kennedy that "Obama Would Have Been Carrying Our Bags a Few Years Ago", who admitted to his affair with Monica Lewinsky, who was impeached for perjury, who was credibly accused of assaulting or raping several women and who had a "bimbo eruption team", now stands to speak during the "Republican War on Women" convention where Ted Kennedy, who left his female "friend" Mary Joe Kopechne to drown, will be honored.] Second, and most importantly, after a several month effort to claim the Republicans want to go backwards, the Democrats will rely on a bunch of former Governors and a President elected two decades ago promising a bridge to the 21st century to make a case for their slogan “Forward”.
A public university in Colorado may have violated state law by offering students course credit if they volunteered with President Obama’s re-election campaign. A blog post on the Adams State University website billed the opportunity as a “12 week long organizing internship for the Obama Campaign.”
Both the blog post and the course are now gone. The course was canceled due to lack of interest, according to the university. The blog post was taken down earlier this week after a conservative student blog, Campus Reform, reported on it.
The course may have been in violation of the Colorado Fair Campaign Practices Act,

GM has increased its manufacturing capacity in China by 55 percent since emerging from bankruptcy thanks to a $50 billion bailout from taxpayers. An important piece of that increased capacity has taken place in Changchun, Jilin Province in China.

A rebellion is developing in Texas against a plan by a school district in San Antonio that would monitor the exact location and activities of all students at all times through RFID chips they are being ordered to wear.

Thirty percent of America’s high school students drop out and never graduate. Fewer than half of the nation’s black and Hispanic students graduate on time from high school.
The scandalous bottom line here is that more than 1 million students drop out of American public schools every year. That works out to more than 6,000 students every day and one student every 26 seconds.
Education in America, particularly big-city education, is in crisis. Historians are already describing the decline of public education as a threat to the nation’s economy and military. And when the tragic scale of harm to racial minorities is considered, the education crisis is aptly labeled as the greatest civil rights challenge of the 21st century.
I am the host of a half-hour video documentary, produced by education reform activist Kyle Olson, telling the story of how a Democrat — Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel  — is risking his political life by fighting the city’s teachers’ union to improve schools. (Take a look at
Several pro-Israel sections of the 2008 Democratic Party platform have been removed from the 2012 platform—on Jerusalem, Palestinian refugees, and Hamas. The new platform represents another shift by the Obama Democrats toward the Palestinian position on key issues in the peace process.
For Jerusalem, the new platform has been brought into line with the Obama administration’s policy of not recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and supporting its division
-Remarkably, the Democrats began their convention with a video that proclaimed, “The government is the only thing we all belong to.”
Earlier today, we told you that the document fails to mention Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, a proclamation that was previously touted by the party. And now, in an even more shocking revelation, CBN News is reporting that the Democrats have removed mentions of “God” from the document as well.
This is a departure from the past. In 2008, the platform read (emphasis added), “We need a government that stands up for the hopes, values, and interests of working people, and gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential.”
With the words “God-given” removed, the 2012 platform sticks to a more secular script:
Asked by Parade magazine, "What do you hope to accomplish in your second term?” First Lady Michelle Obama said she wants to "impact the nature of food in grocery stores" with the aim of cutting sugar, fat and salt.
Daniel James Devine reports on the horrible treatment that a Wisconsin teacher received at the hands of her fellow union members during the now thankfully past recall effort of Governor Scott Walker. This teacher openly supported Walker and was spat upon, cursed, shown the sort of violent hatred that makes one despair for the poor woman’s personal safety.
Again, though, this is how unions operate. They don’t work on true American principles of joining in a public debate, offering their solutions like adults, and then peacefully accepting the verdict of the voters in the spirit of the democratic process. No, what unions do is intimidate, arm twist, attack, and commit violence against those that disagree with them. Quite un-American, really and this is what happened to this poor teacher in Wisconsin.
Bu maybe things are turning? Maybe people are sick and tired of the thuggery perpetrated by unions. At least it seems so in Wisconsin as the teachers union is losing support, losing members, and losing millions in dues.

One source who has seen the report told National Gun Rights Examiner David Codrea today that the report is "10 times worse" than expected.

Is Our President a Bit of a Jerk?

At law school, few people knew Barack Obama really well, and I wasn't one of them, although we did have some dealings when we overlapped The Harvard Law Review. But in the run up to the convention, it's clear that there are people who have had extensive dealings with him -- and they don't like him very much.  Two themes have emerged from news coverage in the last two days, and they are revealing:

(1) He's selfish:

The President does almost no fundraising for Senate or House candidates and     hasn't transferred money to other party election committees.  His numerous     campaign offices rarely coordinate with local candidates or display signs for anyone     but Mr. Obama.  At rallies, Mr. Obama seldom urges supporters to volunteer -- or     even vote -- for other     Democrats running for office. . .. He rarely shares the stage     with other candidates.

A House panel is calling on the U.S. Department of Labor to turn over all records involving a half-million dollar contract funded through President Obama’s $831 billion stimulus program that paid for more than 100 commercials on MSNBC touting a “green jobs” initiative.

A senior Obama administration political appointee and longtime aide to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano resigned Saturday amid allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior lodged by at least three Immigration and Customs Enforcement employees
In her letter to Morton, Barr said she has been the subject of "unfounded allegations designed to destroy my reputation" and is resigning "with great regret."
Those quixotic [global warming] goals just plain wouldn’t work — certainly not in China, and that means not in one-sixth of the populated world. When you see China up close and personal, with its 2,000-plus coal-generated power plants, it’s obvious that the kinds of changes proposed to fight global warming could never be implemented there. No matter how much the communist overseers wished to help the world lower its temperature, they couldn’t do so without freezing the tremendous economy of the giant nation — or fomenting a popular revolution — or both — and that means the global strategy for combating climate change is really just so much pie in the sky (or more appropriately “tilting at eco-friendly windmills”).-
But that doesn’t mean we need to automatically endorse the harumphing conclusions of social activists who proclaim “global warming” to be a done deal — and the urgency of reversing it to be the equivalent of gospel truth. Even if there has been a spike in global temperatures as the result of CO2, that doesn’t mean we can simply trade away all the benefits of coal for the self-satisfaction of thinking that we humans have the power to raise or lower the level of the oceans, as Barack Obama once declared!
Seven months ago, Israel and the United States postponed a massive joint military exercise that was originally set to go forward just as concerns were brimming that Israel would launch a strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities. The exercise was rescheduled for late October, and appears likely to go forward on the cusp of the U.S. presidential election. But it won’t be nearly the same exercise. Well-placed sources in both countries have told TIME that Washington has greatly reduced the scale of U.S. participation, slashing by more than two-thirds the number of American troops going to Israel and reducing both the number and potency of missile interception systems at the core of the joint exercise.
“Basically what the Americans are saying is, ‘We don’t trust you,’” a senior Israeli military official tells TIME.
The reductions are striking. Instead of the approximately 5,000 U.S. troops originally trumpeted for Austere Challenge 12, as the annual exercise is called, the Pentagon will send only 1,500 service members, and perhaps as few as 1,200.  Patriot anti-missile systems will arrive in Israel as planned, but the crews to operate them will not.  Instead of two Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense warships being dispatched to Israeli waters, the new plan is to send one, though even the remaining vessel is listed as a “maybe,” according to officials in both militaries.

Driving Ms. Jarrett

Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett enjoys full-time Secret Service detail, NYT reports
Jarrett once ordered “a drink from a four-star general she mistook for a waiter” at a White House event, according to the report.
Jarrett is identified by Times correspondent Jo Becker as the person responsible for such controversial policy decisions as the insurance mandate for contraceptives, abortifacients, and sterilization procedures contained in the Obama health care overhaul; the president’s questionable decisions to sue the state of Arizona for its immigration enforcement statute SB1020 and to allow Millennial illegal immigrants to apply for work permits without consequence; and the president’s 2009 decision to fly to Copenhagen to lobby the International Olympic Committee to select Chicago for the site of the 2016 Olympics.
In a rare moment of bipartisanship, the House overwhelmingly passed a bill by Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) to audit the Federal Reserve.
The first ever GAO (Government Accountability Office) audit of the Federal Reserve was carried out in the past few months due to the Ron Paul, Alan Grayson Amendment to the Dodd-Frank bill, which passed last year. Jim DeMint, a Republican Senator, and Bernie Sanders, an independent Senator, led the charge for a Federal Reserve audit in the Senate, but watered down the original language of the house bill(HR1207), so that a complete audit would not be carried out.
Nevertheless, the results of the first audit in the Federal Reserve’s nearly 100 year history were posted on Senator Sander’s webpage earlier this morning.
What was revealed in the audit was startling:
$16,000,000,000,000.00 had been secretly given out to US banks and corporations and foreign banks everywhere from France to Scotland. From the period between December 2007 and June 2010, the Federal Reserve had secretly bailed out many of the world’s banks, corporations, and governments.

Organizers at the Bureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs anticipated crowds at yesterday's "Jumah at the DNC" event in Charlotte, North Carolina would reach 20,000. Instead, only 300 Muslims showed up for the open air prayer ceremony.

The event had been listed on the schedule of events that were part of the officially sanctioned DNC/Charlotte in 2012 Host Committee's website. But less than 24 hours before "Jumah at the DNC" was held, nervous officials at the Host Committee quietly removed it from the list of officially sanctioned DNC pre-convention events.
Officials at the Host Commitee confirmed that the event was removed. As NBC reported late yesterday:
"This event, like many others on the page, was user generated," a senior Host Committee official told NBC News on Friday. "Upon further review, and because speakers for the event and statements and positions from event organizers were not appropriate and relevant to the Host Committee, Charlotte in 2012 has decided to remove the event from our events calendar."
Nearly 16 months after first pledging to help Egypt’s failing economy, the Obama administration is nearing an agreement with the country’s new government to relieve $1 billion of its debt as part of an American and international assistance package intended to bolster its transition to democracy, administration officials said.
In addition to the debt assistance, the administration has thrown its support behind a $4.8 billion loan being negotiated between Egypt and the International Monetary Fund. [Earth to Barack: they still won't love us.]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Chairman of the California Democratic Party already had political pundits, delegates and rivals buzzing a day before the Democratic National Convention formally opened in Charlotte, North Carolina, after telling KCBS Radio exclusively that Republican tactics had been akin to Nazi propaganda.
“They lie and they don’t care if people think they lie,” Chairman of the California Democratic Party John Burton told KCBS Monday in Charlotte. “As long as you lie, Joseph Goebbels, the big lie, you keep repeating it, you know.” “I mean, that’s very cynical, very dangerous,” Burton said. [Minority leader Nancy Pelosi refused to condemn the leader of the Democratic Party in California after he just compared Paul Ryan to a Nazi propagandist while she was standing right there.]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ While pundits and critics are divided over whether "2016: Obama's America" is a sobering documentary examining "the most mysterious U.S. president in modern history" or an 87-minute attack ad, there's no debating that the film is a box office phenomenon.
Taking a page from his own book "The Roots of Obama's Rage," conservative scholar Diniseh D'Souza's film has shocked industry prognosticators by earning an estimated $20 million to date, more than five times what the second-highest documentary this year, "Bully," earned. With virtually no promotional budget, the film has expanded in a little over a month from one theater in Houston to 1747 screens this weekend.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------College students from across North Carolina will arrive in Charlotte by the busload. Same with members of predominantly black churches in neighboring South Carolina.  Their goal: help fill a 74,000-seat outdoor stadium to capacity when President Obama accepts the Democratic nomination Thursday night.

*The federal government has closed a criminal probe into Arizona lawman Joe Arpaio, who styles himself as "America's toughest sheriff," and no charges will be filed, the U.S. Attorney's Office said on Friday.
The Maricopa County sheriff and his deputies have been under investigation by the U.S. Justice Department since 2008.
Last December, the department said he and his office violated U.S. civil rights laws by engaging in racial profiling of Latinos and making unlawful arrests in their bid to crack down on illegal immigrants.  [So how many taxpayer dollars were spent in this politically motivated investigation?]
Arpaio is also known for outfitting county jail inmates in pink underwear, claiming the pink shorts are less likely to be smuggled out of jail and sold on the black market, and for housing inmates in a Tent City jail in Phoenix, even when Sonoran Desert summer temperatures soar to 115 degrees.
President Barack Obama was a pioneering contributor to the national subprime real estate bubble, and roughly half of the 186 African-American clients in his landmark 1995 mortgage discrimination lawsuit against Citibank have since gone bankrupt or received foreclosure notices.
As few as 19 of those 186 clients still own homes with clean credit ratings, following a decade in which Obama and other progressives pushed banks to provide mortgages to poor African Americans.
The startling failure rate among Obama’s private sector clients was discovered during The Daily Caller’s review of previously unpublished court information from the lawsuit that a young Obama helmed as the lead plaintiff’s attorney.

You said the time has come to move beyond the bitterness and pettiness and anger that’s consumed Washington,” the then-senator from Illinois said that winter night in Des Moines. “To end the political strategy that’s been all about division and instead make it about addition. To build a coalition for change that stretches through red states and blue states. We are choosing hope over fear. We’re choosing unity over division and sending a powerful message that change is coming to America.”--Barack Obama at the 2008 DNC
Nikki Haley, Governor of S. Carolina said at the RNC:  And, sadly, the hardest part of my job continues to be this federal government, this administration, this president.

As I said, my parents loved that when they came to America, if you worked hard, the only things that could stop you were the limits you placed on yourself. Unfortunately, these past few years, you can work hard, try to be as successful as possible, follow the rules, and President Barack Obama will do everything he can to stand in your way.

South Carolina recently passed one of the most innovative illegal immigration laws in the country. What did this president - who has failed to secure our borders and address this issue in any meaningful way - do? He sued us.

If this President refuses to secure our borders, refuses to protect our citizens from the dangers of illegal immigration, then states have an obligation to take it on ourselves.
We said in South Carolina that if you have to show a picture ID to buy Sudafed and you have to show a picture ID to set foot on an airplane, then you should have to show a picture ID to protect one of the most valuable, most central, most sacred rights we are blessed with in America - the right to vote.
And what did President Obama and his National Labor Relations Board do? They sued this iconic American company [Boeing]. It was shameful. And not worthy of the promise of America.

And what happened? President Obama stopped us.
Some of you may know, the last time I [former campaign director to Obama, the black Artur Davis] spoke at a convention, it turned out I was in the wrong
We have a country to turn around. This week you will nominate the most experienced executive
to seek the presidency in 60 years in Mitt Romney.

He has no illusions about what makes America great, and he doesn't confuse the presidency with
celebrity, or loftiness with leadership.
Now, America is a land of second chances, and I gather you have room for the estimated 6
million of us who know we got it wrong in 2008 and who want to fix it.

Maybe we should have known that night in Denver that things that begin with plywood Greek
columns and artificial smoke typically don't end well.
The official GOP platform approved at the Republican National Convention in Tampa included tough language rejecting the United Nations “sustainability” scheme known as Agenda 21 for the threat it represents to national sovereignty, drawing praise from conservative and Tea Party leaders across the country.
The Republican Party document also rejected any form of UN global taxes and slammed a wide range of the international body’s controversial programs.
That’s weird?
Back on Monday the Obama Campaign listed an “Islamic Jumah at the DNC” as an “official function” at the DNC convention in Charlotte next week.

But now it’s gone.
Gerard Direct has more on the disappearing Jumah:
Earlier this week, we posted an article about the DNC sponsoring, as an “official event” JUMAH at the DNC (watch the promotional video here).
Florida Family Association sent out an email alert on August 29, 2012 which reported the following two sub headlines:
“DNC approves Jumah for 20,000 Muslims.” “RNC adopts anti-Sharia plank at convention.”
A federal court on Thursday blocked a controversial new voter ID law in Texas, ruling that the state failed to show that the law would not harm the voting rights of minorities.
The three-judge panel in the historic case said that evidence also showed that costs of obtaining a voter ID would fall most heavily on poor African Americans and Hispanics in Texas.
Evidence submitted by Texas to prove that its law did not discriminate was “unpersuasive, invalid, or both,” wrote David. S. Tatel, a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, in the panel’s 56-page opinion.
The ruling will likely have political implications in the coming elections. Republicans and Democrats have been arguing over whether increasingly tough voter ID laws discriminate against African Americans and Hispanics.
Texas Attorney General Gregg Abbott said that the state will appeal Thursday’s ruling to the Supreme Court, which is the next stop in a voting rights case. [So we have a federal court who believes as Harry Reid does, that one must prove a negative.  Welcome to Obama's America.  There is no attempt to help them get registered nor to help pay for it, just to be sure that ANYONE can vote.]

Dems Giving Away Tickets to Obama's Speech

You need to be at Manuel's Tavern by noon Friday.  [When one is arrogant and narcissistic enough to demand a football stadium for one's acceptance speech, one needs to fill the stadium to make it look as if there is broad support.]
The great Thomas Sowell: After reading Barack Obama's book "Dreams from My Father," it became painfully clear that he has not been searching for the truth, because he assumed from an early age that he had already found the truth — and now it was just a question of filling in the details and deciding how to change things.
Obama did not simply happen to encounter a lot of people on the far-left fringe during his life.
As he spells out in his book, he actively sought out such people. There is no hint of the slightest curiosity on his part about other visions of the world that might be weighed against the vision he had seized upon.
His statement in "Dreams from My Father" about how white men went to Africa to "drag away the conquered in chains" betrays his ignorance of African history.
During the era of the Atlantic slave trade, most of Africa was ruled by Africans, who sold some of their slaves to white men.
But there was also no reason for him to be shooting off his mouth without knowing what he was talking about.
President Barack Obama was greeted with fleeting applause and extended periods of silence as he offered profuse praise to soldiers and their families during an Aug. 31 speech in Fort Bliss, Texas.
His praise for the soldiers — and for his own national-security policies — won cheers from only a small proportion of the soldiers and families in the cavernous aircraft-hanger.
The audience remains quiet even when the commander-in-chief thanked the soldiers’ families, and cited the 198 deaths of their comrades in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The audience’s reaction was so flat that the president tried twice to elicit a reaction from the crowd.
“Hey, I hear you,” he said amid silence.
The selected soldiers who were arrayed behind the president sat quietly throughout the speech.
CNN and MSNBC ended their coverage of the speech before it was half-over.
The silence deepened when the president lauded his strategy of withdrawal from the war. “Make no mistake, ending the wars responsibly makes us safer and our military even stronger, and ending these wars is letting us do something else; restoring American leadership,” he said amid complete silence.
When he said demobilized soldiers would find jobs because “all of you have the skills America needs,” he got little reaction.
Just hours after a producer for deranged MSNBC host Chris Matthews was accused of physically assaulting Republicans outside the party’s national convention last night, Matthews himself has admitted to verbally confronting several GOP delegates at a restaurant in Tampa, Florida calling them a “douchebag convention.”
According to The Hill newspaper, the perpetually angry liberal television host confronted the delegates early Friday morning following taunting questions they asked about whether he felt “thrilled” following GOP nominee Mitt Romney’s acceptance speech.
The Tampa Bay Times  reported that protesters who made it to Tampa were just as surprised as anyone else that their turnout was so anemic
But by Wednesday, after several days of marches — permitted and unpermitted — police had arrested exactly three people. The largest demonstration drew 500 protesters at most — far fewer than the 10,000 some had predicted would swarm the city.
"Where are all the protesters? Where are our supporters?" wrote on its website Wednesday.
Did you know that the Harvard Law Review produced a pamphlet including a bio of Barack Obama - born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii?  Even snopes says it is true, but that the man who wrote it make a "mistake" which no one ever corrected... Right. See for yourself.
In the US, journalists are sacrificing editorial independence in exchange for access to top politicians. The practice has a long history in Germany, where interviews often must be authorized before publication.

Quotes gleaned from administration officials by a reporter are not just reviewed by the publication's editor, they are often sent to the very same officials for approval - and even redaction - before going to print. Notice the origin of this article: Germany's Deutsche Welle.,,16204465,00.html
The Navy SEALs who killed Osama bin Laden on May 2, 2011, learned from ABC News that they had “gazelle legs, no waist, and a huge upper body configuration,” not to mention calloused hands and gigantic egos. They learned from other American news sources that they had taken part in a 45-minute firefight and that an armed bin Laden, once cornered, had tried to defend himself in his final moments, staring straight at the fighters who would shoot him. Their raid was being turned into a bad action movie.
These distortions seemed funny at first.
The worst it has to say about President Obama is that none of the fighters who caught bin Laden wanted to help re-elect him, and that he never followed through on a promise to invite them to the White House for a beer.  Read the rest of this book review at
[If you want to smile, go to this website which promotes our new national holiday - empty chair day, which replaces Labor Day since there are no jobs.  Americans are long on humor, and these are good.] One comment: From Allen in Lexington, KY, who writes, “Prof Jacobson, what better way to hold Labor Day, for the 23 million unemployed under Obama. …thank you Mr. Eastwood, it took a day or two for most to understand, but your demonstration will be remembered for years!”
