Problems with our Department of Justice - my latest Boyne City Gazette column

Barack Obama’s chosen leader of the Department of Justice, Eric Holder, has consistently made news since Barack Obama became President.
One of the first things Eric Holder did was to drop the charges which had been made against the New Black Panthers.  During the 2008 election they had intimidated, on video, those at polling places in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, displaying billy clubs at the polling place.  Saying that these actions were not nearly as bad as those against blacks back in the earlier days in our history, a decision was made by Holder to only prosecute white-on-black crimes, just to make it fair.  A Federal Judge recently declared that political appointees of Barack Obama did indeed interfere with the Black Panther prosecution. Holder continues to systematically turn a blind eye to black-on-white crimes.
With not one enemy combatant caught on a battlefield in American history ever tried in a civilian court, Eric Holder argued for having Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, one of the terrorists allegedly involved in the 9/11 attacks against America, tried in New York City as a civilian, even though Mohammed said he personally decapitated Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in Pakistan in 2002.
Eric Holder sued to force Arizona to stop following the Federal guidelines on immigration. When the Supreme Court verified Arizona’s right to check the identification of those who have committed a crime, President Obama’s Department of Homeland Security quickly said they would suspend existing agreements with the Arizona police, telling the Feds to decline doing their jobs unless a felony has been committed. Thus the President is failing to uphold America laws he swore to uphold.
The Department of Justice sued Florida for removing its voter lists of as many as 182,000 dead and illegal voters.  State officials sought access to a federal immigration database but that request has been turned down by the Department of Homeland Security.  A federal judge consequently ruled to allow the info and the purge of non-Americans.
The Department is now investigating whether Pennsylvania’s new voter ID law is discriminatory.  The Justice Department requested data on the state’s registered voters in an effort to analyze whether those who lack the proper identification are disproportionately minorities.  Is it our fault that minorities less frequently seek to be registered voters?  Perhaps Democrats time should be spending time to help them register instead of attempting to allow possibly fraudulent votes to be cast.
The DOJ is now suing the state of Ohio over their law restoring the 2008 rights for the military to have three extra days to cast their early votes.  Our military is frequently kept from having their votes counted.  The federal court ruled that in 2008 Virginia had violated federal law by waiting until the day prior to the election to have their military absentee ballots mailed out, for instance.
We have learned from the GSA that Eric Holder’s failure to criminally charge any top Wall Street bankers for the recent financial meltdown is likely a result of cronyism inside the Department of Justice and political donations made to Obama’s campaign.
Perhaps worst of all is Fast and Furious, the program which resulted in Eric Holder receiving a Contempt of Congress citation along with possible criminal and civil charges, some calling for his resignation.  As the L.A. Times described, ‘it allowed weapons from the U.S. to pass into the hands of suspected gun smugglers so the arms could be traced to the higher echelons of Mexican drug cartels.”  Many think the program was run with the purpose of providing another argument for government gun control.  Many of those weapons have been used to commit crimes, including the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. Congress has to this day not received requested documents after 1 ½ years of asking.  As President Obama famously said, “the only people who don't want to disclose the truth are people with something to hide.”  Indeed.
Mister Holder, our complaints against how you run the Department of Justice really don’t have anything to do with the fact that “you know, you and Obama are both African-American”, as you claim.  It has to do with the Rule of Law and the Constitution.
Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia on August 15, 2012, against the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for documents related to the “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” directive issued on June 15, 2012 (Judicial Watch v. Department of Justice et al. (No. 1:12-cv-01350)).  The new Obama administration policy would allow certain illegal aliens under the age of 31 to apply for protected status that would prevent their deportation and authorize them to work.
Specifically, Judicial Watch seeks the following records in its June 22, 2012, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request:
All records concerning…the Department of Homeland Security’s decision to exercise prosecutorial discretion with respect to individuals who came to the United States as children…Such records include, but are not limited to, opinions, memoranda, or legal advice rendered by the Office of Legal Counsel.

Making everything about race; Obama's shameful leaks targeted by Special Ops; Another GM bailout necessary?; Obama's promise of good conduct is a sham; Obama defends Biden's "chains" comment; Obama's end of Medicare; Wisconsin now "toss up" state; First black mayor speaks about Biden's remarks; Arizona's Governor pushes back; Floridea seniors what protection FROM Obamacare; Judge allows voter I.D. in Pennsylvania; DHS, Weather Service & SS all preparing for possible chaos; Ryan plan explained;

On Thursday’s edition of MSNBC’s The Cycle the group discussed Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney‘s assertion that President Obama should “take [his] campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago.” Co-host TourĂ© saw what he believes to be explicit racial connotations beneath what Romney was saying, calling it the “niggerization” of the campaign.
“That really bothered me,” he said. “You notice he said anger twice. He’s really trying to use racial coding and access some really deep stereotypes about the angry black man. This is part of the playbook against Obama, the ‘otherization,’ he’s not like us.”
“I know it’s a heavy thing, I don’t say it lightly, but this is ‘niggerization,’” TourĂ© said to the apparent shock of his co-panelists. “You are not one of us, you are like the scary black man who we’ve been trained to fear.”  [Now this is the racial division typical of this campaign.  A "Chicago way", epitomized by white Mayor Daley, Rod Blagojevich, and the Italian Mafia [does anyone remember Al Capone and Elliot Ness fighting the "Chicago Way?], as well as a heavy-handed leadership, is now presented as all black just to gin up hatred for Romney.  Regardless of his color (half-black), didn't Obama get his start in community organizing and politics in Chicago?]
*The Obama administration, to its everlasting shame, has eagerly leaked sensitive national security information to advance its own partisan political interests. The killing of Osama bin Laden by special forces who had been on the job for years was the most grotesque, but not the only, example. Special forces operators and intelligence officials were outraged by Obama’s leaks, as were many others, including Democratic Senators.
So a bunch of special operators and intelligence professionals got together to protest against the Obama administration’s irresponsibility. The result is this video, titled “Dishonorable Disclosure.” It is dynamite: the production values are excellent, and the message is overpowering. The video is 22 minutes long, but trust me: it is riveting, and goes fast. You should watch the whole thing, to appreciate how dishonorable the Obama administration is when it comes to national security.
President Obama loves to tout the General Motors bailout as the signature “achievement” of his presidency, even though current taxpayer losses on the deal are estimated at over $25 billion.  The exact degree to which the rest of us got soaked so Obama could give GM to his union allies changes constantly as the value of the stock held by We the People fluctuates.  You don’t remember being asked if you would like to become a GM stockholder and willingly accept massive losses to protect highly compensated union jobs, do you?  Well, that’s the great thing about command economics.  It relieves the ruling class of the tedious chores private-sector entrepreneurs face when attracting voluntary investment.
Not only does Obama portray the GM bailout as a great success, he has actually said, in public, that he wants a lot more “successes” just like it.  “I said I believe in American workers, I believe in this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back,” he told an audience in Colorado last week.  “Now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs, not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.
Now Forbes tells us GM is probably heading for bankruptcy again.  Its stock price would have to more than double, to $53.00 per share, for taxpayers to recover their “investment.”  Instead, stock values have declined by 39 percent in absolute terms, and 49 percent relative to the Dow average, since GM went public in 2010.  Louis Woodhill of Forbes thinks political considerations would prompt Obama to “ride the stock down to zero” instead of cashing out at a massive loss to the public.
In the innocent, bygone days of February, President Obama told NBC News that the campaign would get negative against him, but provided this assurance: “I think that you will be able to see how we conduct ourselves in the campaign. I think it will be consistent with how I conducted myself in 2008 and hopefully how I have conducted myself as president of the United States.”
Not since Gary Hart urged reporters to follow him around because “they’d be very bored” has an assurance been more of an indictment.  [For those of you who do not recall, the reporters found that Hart was having an affair, and photographed the two on the yacht Monkey Business.  His campaign for President ended one week later.]  Read more at
President Obama’s answer on Wednesday to a question about his running mate claiming Republicans are going to put “y’all back in chains” was a classic bit of soothing presidential palaver.
“I don’t think you or anybody who’s been watching the campaign would say that in any way we have tried to divide the country,” he said about a moment in which Joe Biden had done precisely that.
The president’s answer has the quality of the adulterer caught in bed with another woman who says to his wife, “Who you gonna believe? Me or your lying eyes?”
Biden was suggesting, off the cuff or not, that Republicans want to restart slavery (apparently through deregulation of the banking system).
The end of Medicare and Medicaid as we know them—through reform, the Ryan way, or -bankruptcy, the Obama way. The direction of the country—via the Romney-Ryan right track, or the Obama-Biden wrong track. Those are the choices, made stark by the addition of Paul Ryan to the Republican ticket.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CNN Thursday turned the important battleground state of Wisconsin from "lean Obama" to true "toss up" on its electoral map, in the wake of Mitt Romney's naming of House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan, a seven term congressman from the Badger state, as his running mate.

America’s first black governor in modern times has become the most senior Democrat to break ranks over Joe Biden’s ‘y’all in chains’ comments, telling the Vice President: 'Slavery is nothing to joke about.'-

Douglas Wilder, who was governor of Virginia from 1990 to 1994 and the first black governor since Reconstruction, told CNN that 'without question' Biden’s remarks in Danville, Virginia (though the veep seemed to think he was in North Carolina) 'were appeals to race'.
He continued: 'The important thing I got out of this was Biden separated himself from what he accused the people of doing. As a matter of fact, what he said is they are going to do something to y’all, not to me. Not us. So he was still involved with that separate American.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer on Wednesday ordered state agencies to deny driver’s licenses and other public benefits to young illegal immigrants who obtain work authorizations under a new Obama administration policy.

In an executive order, Brewer said she was reaffirming the intent of current Arizona law denying taxpayer-funded public benefits and state identification to illegal immigrants.
Democrats eager to tell seniors President Obama will protect them from Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan have a problem: Florida seniors want Ryan to protect them from Obamacare, a new poll suggests.
In Florida, “48 percent of the state’s voters fear the president’s health care law more than Ryan’s proposal when it comes to Medicare,” Rasmussen found in a survey of 500 likely voters (subscriber content). “Just 41 percent fear Ryan’s proposal more.”
Ryan’s lead over Obama is even larger among senior citizens, of whom “54 percent are more fearful of the president’s plan.”

Be ready to show ID at the polls in November.
A Pennsylvania judge on Wednesday refused to stop a tough new voter identification law from going into effect, which Democrats said will suppress votes among President Barack Obama's supporters.

Bullet-proof checkpoint booths. Riot gear. Hollow point bullets.
The Department of Homeland Security—a non-military agency—has requested all of these items, and more.
Is the United States about to enter a domestic war? Or is Obama just determined to keep dissenters in line?
Of course, after the outcry began because citizens wondered what in the world the National Weather Service would need with thousands of rounds of ammo, the Washington Post ran a correction that the solicitation contained a “clerical error” and the bullets are in fact meant for the NOAA Fisheries of Law office.
But that clarification doesn’t set our minds at ease, because the federal government is busy purchasing checkpoint booths, anti-radiation pills, and large assault vehicles.
AND the Social Security Administration is ready to purchase 174,000 rounds of hollow point bullets that will be delivered to 41 locations across the country, including Los Angeles, Detroit, Houston, Dallas and Seattle.
Is the United States about to enter a situation that resembles Nazi Germany?
Since the news of the DHS bullet purchase broke in March, it has come to our attention that the agency has requested other items, as well. Infowars reports that Government Security News is listing riot gear requested by the DHS:
- 147 riot helmets – which must have an “adjustable tactical face shield with liquid seal” and be able to fit the “3M Full Face Respirator FR-M40B masks.”
- 152 sets of thigh and groin protection
- 147 hard shell shin guards – which should have an “optimized protective design for severe riot control or tactical situations.”
- 156 forearm protectors
- 147 pairs of tactical gloves – which should ensure that the “Kevlar on back of hands is flame/flash retardant as well as cut protective.”;_ylc=X3oDMTBvamJjMmxoBF9TAzM5ODMwMTAyNwRhYwNtdkZsZE1zZw--&mid=2_0_0_1_158112_ANlbimIAABqpUCzVbADNSGM8lYM&fid=Inbox&sort=date&order=down&startMid=0&filterBy=&.rand=2140146219&.jsrand=3589335
Mr. Ryan's [Medicare] plan has a different approach [from Obama]. While there would be no changes in Medicare for those 55 or older, starting in 10 years younger Americans would have a choice. They could either pick traditional Medicare or use the average amount of money the government spends on each Medicare enrollee to buy private insurance. The reasoning is based on a reliable truth: Competition will lower costs by using market forces to spur innovation and improvement.
This approach is nothing new or radical. Called "premium support," it was recommended in 1999 by Louisiana Democratic Sen. John Breaux, chairman of President Bill Clinton's Medicare Reform Commission.

*A former four-term Democratic congressman from Alabama and one time strong supporter of President Barack Obama will campaign for Mitt Romney Wednesday.
A Romney campaign aide confirms to CNN that Artur Davis will stump for the presumptive Republican presidential nominee in the battleground state of Virginia.
Davis, who is black, may be best known for seconding Obama's nomination at the Democratic National Convention in 2008, when he served as an Obama campaign co-chairman. Davis said he had hoped Obama's presidency would make a huge dent in race relations, as well as move the Democratic Party further to the center.
Thousands of people showed up to Navy Pier, carrying school transcripts, plane tickets and other proof of their time in the United States as they sought temporary protected status under an Obama administration program geared toward students and young adults in the country illegally.
The crowd of mostly teenagers and young adults packed into the Navy Pier grand ballroom, where volunteer attorneys waited to help people apply, and spilled down Illinois Avenue and onto a Lake Shore Drive bike path for several blocks, approaching Millennium Park.
By mid-morning, the crowded was estimated at 11,000 people.,0,6131463.story
[The great, and proudly black, Walter Williams writes]: President Barack Obama recently wrote an executive order that established a White House initiative on educational excellence for black Americans that will be housed in the Department of Education. It proposes “to identify evidence-based best practices” to improve black achievement in school and college. Though black education is in desperate straits, the president’s executive order will accomplish absolutely nothing to improve black education. The reason is that it does not address the root causes of educational rot among black Americans. It’s not rocket science; let’s look at it.
The president’s initiative contains not one word about rampant inner-city school violence, which makes educational excellence impossible. If rampant school crime is not eliminated, academic excellence will be unachievable. If anything, the president’s initiative will help undermine school discipline, because it advocates “promoting a positive school climate that does not rely on methods that result in disparate use of disciplinary tools.” That means, for example, if black students are suspended or expelled at greater rates than, say, Asian students, it’s a “disparate use of disciplinary tools.” Thus, even if blacks are causing a disproportionate part of disciplinary problems, they cannot be disciplined disproportionately.
With the US sending clear public signals to Israel that it is opposed to military action now against Iran, and a cacophonous debate on the matter in Israel, senior Iranian officials continue to threaten Israel with destruction.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Wednesday that he was confidant "the fake Zionist (regime) will disappear from the landscape of geography,” Iran's Mehr News Agency reported.

A strike on Iran’s nuclear sites would spark a 30-day war with missile attacks on Israel's cities and as many as 500 dead, according to the Israeli minister responsible for preparing home defences.

First it was the Department of Homeland Security, then it was the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and now the Social Security Administration is set to purchase 174,000 rounds of hollow point bullets that will be delivered to 41 locations across the country.

Homeland Security boss Janet Napolitano’s embattled high-ranking immigration aide took a leave of absence following salacious new claims about the agency’s alleged sexually hostile environment toward men, while Napolitano herself indicated she is pondering stepping down.

Suzanne Barr, who has close Arizona ties to Napolitano, took a “voluntary leave,” according to Brian Hale, spokesman for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.
Barr’s leave, which began Tuesday, comes as two more male accusers claimed they personally witnessed Barr engage in lewd and hostile behavior with subordinates.

The following clip would make a nice 30-second ad:  [This is Erskin Bowles, former Clinton Chief of Staff speaking]:
“Have any of you all met Paul Ryan? We should get him to come to the university. I’m telling you this guy is amazing. ... He is honest, he is straightforward, he is sincere. And the budget that he came forward with is just like Paul Ryan. It is a sensible, straightforward, serious budget and it cut the budget deficit just like we did, by $4 trillion. … The president as you remember, came out with a budget and I don’t think anybody took that budget very seriously. The Senate voted against it 97 to nothing."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A controversial billboard in Elkhart has been drawing a lot of attention-- both negative and positive this month.
But Monday, protesters gathered at the billboard to argue its message.
The billboard, paid for by a tea party group called "We the People of Marshall and Fulton County",  is posted near Nappanee Street and John Weaver Parkway in Elkhart.
It says: "The Navy Seals removed one threat to America. The voters must remove the other.",0,6088709.story?track=rss

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- President Obama touted his new vision of America as one where "prosperity is shared" at a campaign stop in Chicago. We've got news for him: Prosperity is always shared. The real question is whether it's created at all.
From Obama's 2008 lecture to small business owner "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher to "share the wealth" to his more recent "you didn't build that" admonishment to entrepreneurs, President Obama's call for an "America in which prosperity is shared" is a declaration of war on wealth creators, capitalism, rule of law and prosperity itself, all in the name of "sharing."
It pretty well makes his vision for America not so much a land of opportunity, but a land of redistribution.
Take, for example, the matter of revelations by five members of the Congress and the Center for Security Policy that there appear to be a number individuals working for or with the Obama administration with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. The possibility that their influence may be helping to shape U.S. policy in ways that increasingly align it with the demands, ambitions and goals of the Brotherhood and other Islamists is a national security problem of the first order. That is especially true at a moment when the Muslim Brotherhood is consolidating its hold on power in Egypt with the cashiering of two top generals at the hands of theBrotherhood's newly elected president, Mohammed Morsi.
Yet, Team Obama and its allies in the mainstream media have aggressively worked to deflect the focus away from these realities.
Vice President Joe Biden told supporters that Republicans would “put y’all back in chains,” during a campaign speech Tuesday in Danville, Va.
Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter says the campaign has "no problem" with Vice President Joe Biden's comment about putting people back in chains.

"I think he probably agrees with Joe Biden's sentiments," Cutter said on behalf of President Obama. "He's using a metaphor to talk about what's going to happen."
Why would the National Weather Service need to purchase large quantities of powerful ammo? That’s the question many are asking after the federal agency followed in the footsteps of the Department of Homeland Security in putting out a solicitation for 46,000 rounds of hollow point bullets.
A solicitation which appears on the FedBizOpps website asks for 16,000 rounds of .40 S&W jacketed hollow point (JHP) bullets, noted for their strength, to be delivered to locations in Ellsworth, Maine, and New Bedford, Mass.
A further 6,000 rounds of S&W JHP will be sent to Wall, New Jersey, with another 24,000 rounds of the same bullets heading to the weather station in St. Petersburg, Florida.
The solicitation also asks for 500 paper targets to be delivered to the same locations in Maine, Massachusetts and New Jersey.
Mitt Romney used a tough new campaign speech to personally blast the Obama campaign on Tuesday, saying comments earlier in the day from Vice President Biden are "what an angry and desperate Presidency looks like."
"Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago," Romney said while campaigning in Ohio
Romney was responding to Biden's suggestion that the GOP ticket's economic policies would “put y’all back in chains."

New Black Panthers to RNC: Our 'Feet Will Be On Your Motherf***ing Necks'  [Where are the arrests?  Didn't Joe Biden just play into their hands?]

Try this thought experiment. Imagine that someone grows up in poverty, works his way through law school by holding the night shift as a Capitol Hill policeman, and spends all but two years of his career as a public servant. Now imagine that this person’s current salary — and he’s at the top of his game — is $193,400. You probably wouldn’t expect him to have millions in stocks, bonds, and real estate.
But, surprise, he does, if he’s our Senate majority leader, whose net worth is between 3 and 10 million dollars, according to When Harry Reid entered the Nevada legislature in 1982, his net worth was listed as between $1 million and $1.5 million “or more,” according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. So, since inquiring minds inquire, let’s try to figure out how Reid’s career in public service ended up being so lucrative. He hasn’t released his tax returns, which makes this an imperfect science, but looking at a few of his investments helps to show how he amassed his wealth.
Are you having trouble finding a doctor who will see you? If not, give it another year and a half. A doctor shortage is on its way.
Most provisions of the Obama health law kick in on Jan. 1, 2014. Within the decade after that, an additional 30 million people are expected to acquire health plans—and if the economic studies are correct, they will try to double their use of the health-care system.
Here is the problem: The health-care system can't possibly deliver on the huge increase in demand for primary-care services. The original ObamaCare bill actually had a line item for increased doctor training. But this provision was zeroed out before passage, probably to keep down the cost of health reform. The result will be gridlock.
A Democratic Party caucus chairman who has speculated about Jewish involvement in the 9/11 terrorist attacks has launched a new political action committee dedicated to supporting “anti-Zionist” Muslim candidates who believe “the ‘war on terror’ is a hoax and that the official story of 9/11 is not true,” according to the group’s website.
MD Rabbi Alam is an Obama campaign ally and Missouri-based Democratic activist who came under fire in July after he told the Free Beacon that “not a single Jew” was killed during the 9/11 attacks. (Alam is not a rabbi.)
A veteran Democrat, Alam lost a bid last week to become his party’s nominee for Missouri’s next secretary of state. However, his conspiratorial views about 9/11 and the Jewish people continue to garner the most attention.
Some Democratic lawmakers want to make sure that one question does not get asked at the upcoming first presidential debate - about Simpson-Bowles.
Three Democratic House members objected Tuesday to a request by four senators that President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney be asked which of the commission’s proposals to address the debt they support. The Democrats said such a question would force “candidates to choose solutions from one menu of options.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A group of former U.S. intelligence and Special Forces operatives is set to launch a media campaign, including TV ads, that scolds President Barack Obama for taking credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden and argues that high-level leaks are endangering American lives.
Leaders of the group, the Special Operations OPSEC Education Fund Inc, say it is nonpartisan and unconnected to any political party or presidential campaign. It is registered as a so-called social welfare group, which means its primary purpose is to further the common good and its political activities should be secondary.

ANN ARBOR, MI – A stunning new development has come to light surrounding allegations of public corruption over the sale of Farmington Public Schools (FPS) property to the Islamic Cultural Association (ICA). On Wednesday, August 8th, Reverend Bruce D. Burwell, Senior Pastor of Light of the World Christian Center in West Bloomfield, read aloud a prepared statement on how the person in charge of FPS properties told him the property was not for sale when he expressed an interest in purchasing it for his church.  FPS subsequently sold the vacant Eagle Elementary school property to the Islamic Cultural Association.
[Harry] Reid, who last week hosted the fifth annual National Clean Energy Summit at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, has been “pulling strings behind the scenes” for months on behalf of ENN Mojave Energy, a Nevada subsidiary of the Chinese-owned ENN Group.
After more than two years of secret negotiations beginning in 2009, lawmakers in Clark County, Nevada, unanimously agreed to sell 9,000 acres of public land to ENN for the bargain price of just $4.5 million ($500 per acre) in December 2011.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal questioned the “steep discount” ENN received for the land, which had been previously appraised for between $30 million and $39 million. The arrangement also included a bundle of tax incentives for ENN.
"Do we go forward towards a new vision of an America in which prosperity is shared?" Obama asked. "Or do we go backward to the same policies that got us in the mess in the first place?"
Romney answered critics who say Ryan’s Medicare plan will hurt the ticket’s chances, especially in Florida.
“There’s only one president that I know of in history that robbed Medicare, $716 billion to pay for a new risky program of his own that we call Obamacare,” Romney said.
“What Paul Ryan and I have talked about is saving Medicare, is providing people greater choice in Medicare, making sure it’s there for current seniors. No changes, by the way, for current seniors, or those nearing retirement. But looking for young people down the road and saying, “We’re going to give you a bigger choice.” In America, the nature of this country has been giving people more freedom, more choices. That’s how we make Medicare work down the road.”
Let me say this right up front: Congratulations to Wolf Blitzer for being a relentless, responsible journalist. If you value the truth, this interview is a pleasure to watch.  If you have even an ounce of human compassion for the in-over-her-head target of Blitzer's inquisition, it's positively brutal:
She's touted by the liberal media as one of the brightest commentators on television, yet MSNBC's Rachel Maddow got thoroughly demolished by National Review editor Rich Lowry on Sunday's Meet the Press.
When continually asked by Lowry to defend the President's $700 billion Medicare cuts in ObamaCare, Maddow repeatedly refused making herself look tremendously foolish

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thanks to an Obamacare regulation that took effect on Aug. 1, health care plans in Oregon will now be required to provide free sterilizations to 15- year-old girls even if the parents of those girls do not consent to the procedure.
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius finalized the regulation earlier this year.
It says that all health care plans in the United States--except those provided by actual houses of worship organized under the section of the Internal Revenue Code reserved for churches per se--must provide coverage, without cost-sharing, for sterilizations and all Food and Drug Administration-approved contraceptives to “all women with reproductive capacity.”
A Russian nuclear-powered attack submarine armed with long-range cruise missiles operated undetected in the Gulf of Mexico for several weeks and its travel in strategic U.S. waters was only confirmed after it left the region, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.
It is only the second time since 2009 that a Russian attack submarine has patrolled so close to U.S. shores.
The stealth underwater incursion in the Gulf took place at the same time Russian strategic bombers made incursions into restricted U.S. airspace near Alaska and California in June and July, and highlights a growing military assertiveness by Moscow.

Ryan then praised Romney for his career at Bain Capital — mentioning that company’s role in launching Staples, especially — before offering this implicit rebuke of Obama’s attacks on Romney: “We Americans look at one another’s success with pride, not resentment, because we know, as more Americans work hard, take risks, and succeed, more people will prosper, our communities will benefit, and individual lives will be improved and uplifted,” Ryan plans to say.
Less than three months to Election Day and the Obama Campaign—including the Democrat Party—has already sunk to the bottom of the political sewer and are drilling for new depths of depravity.
The outhouse stench of their scatological maneuvers to smear the republican candidate will, no doubt, go down in the annals of history as even worse than those of the father of their depraved party, Andrew Jackson, in the election of 1828.
Thank you Governor Romney, Ann. I am deeply honored and excited to join you as your running mate.
Mitt Romney is a leader with the skills, the background and the character that our country needs at a crucial time in its history. Following four years of failed leadership, the hopes of our country, which have inspired the world, are growing dim; and they need someone to revive them. Governor Romney is the man for this moment; and he and I share one commitment: we will restore the dreams and greatness of this country.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) doesn't become vice president of the United States, he has a backup option: his old House seat.
Under Wisconsin law, Ryan can run simultaneously for both offices.
The lawmaker hasn't said anything about his House election, which he is strongly favored to win, but he may not have much of a choice.

The law specifically states that once a candidate is nominated, his or her name has to remain on the ballot except in the case of death. But if Ryan does make it to the vice presidential mansion, that election would "void the candidate's election to any other office," and a special election would be called, according to the law. And names are already being floated in case that comes to pass. [ Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus, a close friend of Ryan, has been mentioned.]
Americans are desperate for a serious, intelligent, down-to-bedrock debate on the economy — and on the nation’s future. With Mitt Romney’s blockbuster selection yesterday of Paul Ryan as his running mate, they’re now sure to get one.
Ryan brings to the ticket an unshakable commitment to core conservative economic principles — free markets, equality of opportunity, consumer choice. And he approaches the nation’s problems with a maturity that should shame most of his Washington colleagues.
“We can turn this [economy] around,” he said yesterday, but it will take the “courage to tell you the truth.”Read more:
Romney did a great job responding to a heckler, then turned it on Obama telling him to get his campaign out of the gutter. Fantastic.  [He said, " You see, young man, this group here is respectful of other people's rights to be heard.  And you ought to find yourself a different place to be disruptive because here we believe in listening to people with dignity and respect!] .
Brushing aside tears and responding to raucous cheers, U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan returned to Wisconsin on Sunday for an emotional homecoming in front of thousands [10,000] of people on the grounds of the Waukesha County Expo Center. "It's good to be home," Ryan said in a speech that wove personal history and national aspiration.
Romney cast this as a noble act in the 60 Minutes interview with Bob Schieffer. “What Paul Ryan and I have talked about is saving Medicare, is providing people greater choice in Medicare, making sure it's there for current seniors,” Romney said in a segment of the interview that was posted online. He stressed there would be “no changes… for current seniors, or those nearing retirement.” But he acknowledged big changes for those younger. He said Republicans are telling them, “We're going to give you a bigger choice.” He suggested that is the only way to “make Medicare work down the road.”
An illegal Mexican immigrant who wants to be licensed to practice law in California has received support from the state's top law enforcement officer, the State Bar of California, civil rights groups, county bar associations and law professors — but not from the Obama administration.
In a brief to the California Supreme Court, the U.S. Department of Justice said federal law prohibits giving a public benefit, such as a bar license, to an "unlawfully present alien.",0,2182329.story
Republicans quickly jumped on a report that President Obama’s largest fundraiser here Sunday was only “half full,” but the crowd for the event was larger than the Obama campaign had initially anticipated.
But the crowd for the afternoon fundraiser at the Bridgeport Art Center totaled 1,000.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------You see, a majority of workers at Chapman Medical Center in Orange, California, signed letters and petitions rejecting the SEIU's presence in their workplace.

But company management served up the healthcare workers on a silver platter to the union through a rigged card check "vote" and entered into contract negotiations anyway

Collusion like this between union organizers and company officials seems to leave employees without defense. [This came from righttoworkfoundation.]
