Recent attacks on Capitalism fall flat - my Boyne City Gazett column

Recent attacks by President Obama on Mitt Romney’s time at Bain Capital reflect his disdain for capitalism as well as his celebration of government control – and his belief that he knows what we need or want better than we do.  As he said, “I won”.  How do hundreds of venture capitalism companies compare to President Obama’s venture investments in green energy companies and company bailouts using taxpayer dollars?
The essence of Bain Capital and other similar firms is that of taking a reasonable risk in hopes of being rewarded.  Lanny Davis, Clinton Administration insider, recently described the process well, saying, “Private equity firms often invest in distressed companies by putting in cash and cutting expenses in order to save a company that is already close to bankruptcy. Sometimes the investment works and the company and jobs are saved. And sometimes, to save the company, jobs need to be cut or wages and benefits reduced.”  Employees and owners alike will be rewarded if jobs can be retained by delivering products which consumers want to buy.  Bain and others use money invested only by private citizens.  Bain Capital has a success rate of 80% on their turn-around companies.  Just a few of Bain’s great successes include Staples and Sports Authority, producing many thousands of jobs.
This President believes that government is the job provider, not the free market.  His administration will therefore decide for Americans how their taxpayer dollars will be invested, without our input or approval, and 70% of his loans were delivered to the companies of his major donors. The record is one of abject failure.  Curious readers can do an Internet search on Solyndra, Beacon Power, Ener1, Evergreen Solar, SpectraWatt, Eastern Energy, Nevada Geothermal, or some others of the 11 companies which CBS News declared have “either already failed, or are on the verge of failing, taking with them more than $6.5 billion in taxpayer money.”
Let’s consider our “investment” in GM.  He touts the fact that the company still exists.  He neglects the fact that Preferred Bond Holders were sold out, many auto dealerships were told to close, 38% of the company is now owned by unions, and GM does not have to pay taxes for 10 years.  Salaries continued to be raised and bonuses are handed out in spite of the fact that Americans are still owed $24 billion. AIG, General Motors and Chrysler still collectively owe us nearly $90 billion.
Some well-know Democrats have been appalled at these attacks on Capitalism, as well as the President’s statement that we should not have a venture capitalist for President.  Obama is himself a venture capitalist.  But he puts our money at risk instead of his own.  As Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick declared, “Bain is a perfectly fine company.”  Newark Mayor and upcoming Democrat Cory Booker said, “I know I live in a state where pension funds, unions and other people invest in companies like Bain Capital. If you look at the totality of Bain Capital's record, they've done a lot to support businesses, to grow businesses.” It was said afterwords by the Obama Administration that Booker is “dead to us”. Former Governor of Pennsylvania Ed Rendell said of the ads attacking Bain, “I think they’re very disappointing.”  President Bill Clinton said, “Or you can go into a company, have cutbacks, try to make it more productive with the purpose of saving it. When you try, like anything else you try, you don't always succeed. I don't think that we ought to get into the position where we say this is bad work. This is good work.  His record there was sterling.”
Voting in November will either save our system of Constitutional law, capitalism and free enterprise, or it will provide another four years with this ever more divisive and dictatorial President.  He thinks his job is to provide ever more government oversight, jobs and benefits, and to provide amnesty for illegals against the vote of Congress, as he did just last week.  He thinks his word alone should be law.  Obama’s campaign motto is “Forward”, the same as the old Nazi marching tune.  I prefer to go “Onward” with that which made America the hope of the world.

This quote came from the Czech Republic. Someone over there has it figured out and hit the nail right on the head. We have a lot of work to do.
"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting an inexperienced man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for  their president.
The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince .

The Republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president."

Executive privilege = something to hide; Supremes go against EPA; Mini drones; Barack didn't know......; Obama once again displays his total ignorance; Pelosi's terrible spin; Supremes against unions; U of Minn's ad against whites; Another lawsuit against Holder; Wind farms cause global warming; Dem superdelegates avoid National Convention; Where's the tv coverage of 2000 dead in Afghanistan?; Obama down 7 points in two weeks

"Executive privilege protects communications with the president, the human being of the president, not with people that work for him and the Justice Department," Judge Andrew Napolitano said on FOX News today.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Supreme Court threw out an $18 million penalty Thursday against a natural gas company convicted of violating an environmental law.
The court voted 6-3 in favor of Texas-based Southern Union Co. in an appeal of a penalty imposed for its improper storage of mercury in a building in Pawtucket, R.I.

The kinds of drones making the headlines daily are the heavily armed CIA and U.S. Army vehicles which routinely strike targets in Pakistan - killing terrorists and innocents alike.
But the real high-tech story of surveillance drones is going on at a much smaller level, as tiny remote controlled vehicles based on insects are already likely being deployed.
Over recent years a range of miniature drones, or micro air vehicles (MAVs), based on the same physics used by flying insects, have been presented to the public.
The fear kicked off in 2007 when reports of bizarre flying objects hovering above anti-war protests sparked accusations that the U.S. government was accused of secretly developing robotic insect spies.
Barack Obama: "Well I heard about it from the news reports. This is not something we were aware of in the White House and the Attorney General it turns out wasn't aware of either.
So this investigation will be complete, people who have screwed up will be held accountable but our overarching goal consistently has been to say we've got a responsibility not only to stop drugs from flowing north, we've also got a responsibility to make sure we are not helping to either arm or finance these drug cartels in Mexico."
Is it mere coincidence that around the same time Operation Fast and Furious commenced, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton acted to launch talks on a U.N. treaty to regulate the sales of small arms?   Is it also a coincidence that in October 2009, the U.S. State Department released a statement overturning the Bush administration's previous stance against such a treaty?
Secretary Clinton supported the talks stating, "Consensus is needed to ensure the widest possible support for the Treaty and to avoid loopholes in the Treaty that can be exploited by those wishing to export arms irresponsibly."

When Obama stopped in at Master Lock in Milwaukee, Wisconsin last week, he
was walking the plant and stopped to talk with a plant employee and looked
up at the banner hanging on the wall and said to the worker and people
around him, "It is great to be in a union shop, especially one as old as
this union is " - - - - pointing to the banner. He then said, "A Union shop
since 1848" - - - and then he went on to talk on what that banner stood for
and how important it was to display it and show your union support.
The worker then said to Obama that it was the flag of the State of Wisconsin
- - which was founded in 1848.
This was only reported by a local radio station in Milwaukee (1130AM) and
not by the major news networks - - - they didn't want to embarrass this President!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., declared that House Republicans are charging Attorney General Eric Holder with contempt of Congress not as part of an investigation into Operation Fast and Furious, but in order to weaken his ability to prevent voter suppression.
"They're going after Eric Holder because he is supporting measures to overturn these voter suppression initiatives in the states," Pelosi told reporters during her press briefing today. "This is no accident, it is no coincidence. It is a plan on the part of Republicans.

The University of Minnesota - Duluth (UMD) is now sponsoring an ad-campaign designed to achieve "racial justice" by raising awareness of "white privilege."
The project disseminates its message, that "society was setup for us [whites]" and as such is "unfair," through an aggressive campaign of online videos, billboards, and lectures. The ads feature a number of Caucasians confessing their guilt for the supposed "privilege" that comes along with their fair features.
WATCH BELOW: Group says it is "unfair" to be white
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------An "Inside the Beltway" watchdog group announced that it filed yet another Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the secretive Attorney General Eric Holder and the U.S. Department of Justice to obtain records related to the agency blocking a section of South Carolina Act R54 that would have required voters to present photo identification when voting.
Judicial Watch originally filed a FOIA application on Feb. 6, 2012 requesting any and all records "regarding, concerning or related to the Civil Rights Division’s denial of pre-clearance of Section 5 of South Carolina Act R54 (A27 H3003).
Sadly, as of June 19, the DOJ has failed to comply with the FOIA request, according to officials at Judicial Watch.

Democratic superdelegates from the Rust Belt are boycotting their party’s convention in North Carolina amid fears that voting to nominate President Barack Obama for the general election will doom them to defeat in November.
The superdelegates, given a vote in the presidential nomination process because of their status as senior elected officials, want to avoid any association with Obama, who is politically toxic for many blue collar voters in the upper Mid-West and Appalachia.
Representative Mark Critz of Pennsylvania, who has just won a tough Democratic primary in a newly-drawn district, said he had decided to stay at home rather than travel to Charlotte for Obama’s formal nomination in early September.
On June 13, the CBS Evening News devoted a story by David Martin to the Afghanistan death count reaching 2,000, as Martin interviewed a mother of a fallen Marine. CBS was alone. There was no story last week on the Afghanistan death “milestone” on ABC, NBC, the PBS NewsHour – or even on the MSNBC programs found in Nexis, including Rachel “Our Military’s In a Perilous Drift” Maddow.

But the networks were all more aggressive when the 2,000 mark arrived in Iraq on October 25, 2005. The Big Three networks devoted 14 morning and evening news stories to the death toll from October 24 through the end of October, and another 24 anchor briefs or mentions. They used the number to spell “disaster for this White House.”

MI school union demands credit card and bank account info; DOJ drops charges of providing material support; More Obama lies in auto-biography; That's a clown question, said Harry Reid; UN wants to levy taxes on America; EPA gets one right; King Barack's 934 Executive Orders; Obama attacked Bush for hiding behind Executive Orders; Holder retracts lies to Congress = perjury; UK Death Panels are a warning; The Constitution may have died on 6/15/2012; Obama lies again about Bain Capital

One school employee union in Michigan is demanding that members turn over bank account and credit card information so that the union can automatically claim monthly dues after the state voted to stop deducting the money on behalf of the union.
In Wisconsin, the state AFL-CIO lost over half its members after Gov. Scott Walker, R, and the state legislature ended the automatic deduction of dues from worker paychecks. Bence’s union chapter is part of the Michigan Education Association, one of the most powerful education unions in the country.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) refuses to explain why it has abruptly dropped terrorism charges against a member of a Middle Eastern family indicted in south Florida last year with providing material support for the Pakistani Taliban.

Khan founded an Islamic school that supports the Taliban’s jihad while living in Pakistan and continued controlling and funding it as an imam in Miami, according to a federal indictment. He used the school to provide shelter and support for Taliban soldiers and to train children how to kill Americans in Afghanistan, the indictment says. The rest of the family helped create a network that flowed money from the U.S. to Pakistan to purchase guns for the Taliban, according to the feds.
The story made headlines nationally because the FBI raided the mosque with terrorist ties in a manner that assured cultural sensitivity towards Islam. Federal agents actually waited for prayer service to end before moving in out of respect for Muslims and they took their shoes off prior to entering the mosque as per Islamic tradition. It made for “kindlier, gentler arrests,” under the Obama Administration’s new rules of engagement to assure more sensitivity toward religious practices.
A new biography of Barack Obama has established that his grandfather was not, as is related in the President’s own memoir, detained by the British in Kenya and found that claims that he was tortured were a fabrication.
'Barack Obama: The Story' by David Maraniss catalogues dozens of instances in which Obama deviated significantly from the truth in his book 'Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance'. The 641-page book punctures the carefully-crafted narrative of Obama’s life.
One of the enduring myths of Obama’s ancestry is that his paternal grandfather Hussein Onyango Obama, who served as a cook in the British Army, was imprisoned in 1949 by the British for helping the anti-colonial Mau Mau rebels and held for several months.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In "Dreams from My Father," his 1995 memoir, Obama used the story of his paternal grandfather's imprisonment and torture at the hands of British colonists in Kenya as an example of white cruelty. He claimed Hussein Onyango Obama was unjustly detained for six months before being released a crippled, lice-ridden "old man."
In fact, none of it is true, according to Washington Post editor and biographer David Maraniss, who traveled to Kenya to investigate the tale. His grandfather was not detained or beaten by his "white rulers," as Obama, writing as a 34-year-old lawyer, claimed.
This is only the latest example of a growing body of fabrications, embellishments and outright lies told by this president, who has a real and possibly pathological problem with the truth.
Stacked up, his whoppers would make even Bill Clinton blush. Here's a sampling:
Lie No. 1: Obama has repeatedly claimed his white grandfather, Stanley Dunham, "fought in Patton's army," when he was a clerk with no combat in WWII.
In a press availability with reporters this afternoon Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid shot down a reporter’s question using some rather colorful language.
“I don’t want to answer that question. That’s a clown question bro,” Mr. Reid said eliciting laughs.
According to USA Today, Mr. Reid’s unusual response was a provoked by a reporter asking him to respond to “Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s comments on the DREAM Act.”
As of this writing, Mr. Reid has not responded to a request for comment on this story.
Diplomats at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Conference in Rio de Janeiro next week will consider proposals that would levy taxes on American families and energy industries in order to support international efforts to combat global warming, according to a draft agenda for the conference.
“We recognize that subsidies for non-renewable energy development should be eliminated and replaced with a global tax on the production of energy from non-renewable energy sources,” the UN draft agenda, amended by non-governmental organizations at the invitation of the UN, says. “The income of this tax should be allocated to renewable energy development.” The draft agenda was obtained by the Center for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT), a group skeptical of the UN’s position on global warming.
The American public has awakened and is acutely aware of the damage environmentally-driven policy is doing to America’s citizens and economy. The decision not to add the sand dune lizard to the list of species protected under the Endangered Species Act, announced Wednesday by the US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), was precipitated by public involvement as the citizens of Texas and New Mexico wrote the FWS, showed up at public rallies, and spoke up at official hearings in opposition to the listing. The listing of the sand dune lizard had the potential annual cost of more than $35 billion to the American economy due to lost oil production alone.-

FLASHBACK 2007: Obama Attacked Trying "To Hide Behind Executive Privilege"

In a second major retraction over its version of the the gun-walking scandal, the Justice Department has retracted Attorney General Eric Holder's charge in a hearing last week that his Bush administration predecessor had been briefed on the affair.
In a memo just released by Sen. Chuck Grassley, the Iowa senator reveals that Holder also didn't apologize to former Attorney General Michael Mukasey for dragging him into the Fast & Furious scandal that is headed for a major legal clash and likely contempt of Congress charge against Holder.
According to Grassley's memo, Justice said that Holder "inadvertently" made the charge against Mukasey in a hearing.
[The UK Death Panels]: NHS doctors are prematurely ending the lives of thousands of elderly hospital patients because they are difficult to manage or to free up beds, a senior consultant claimed yesterday.
Professor Patrick Pullicino said doctors had turned the use of a controversial ‘death pathway’ into the equivalent of euthanasia of the elderly.
He claimed there was often a lack of clear evidence for initiating the Liverpool Care Pathway, a method of looking after terminally ill patients that is used in hospitals across the country.

If last Friday's dictatorial action by President Obama is allowed to stand, historians may someday look back on June 15, 2012 as the day the Constitution died. The rule of law has been replaced by Obamarule.
The Founding Fathers designed the Constitution to limit the power of politicians.
They had fought an eight year war against the tyranny of King George.
A better source for Romney’s behavior as an investor might be someone who actually worked on Wall Street, such as former Obama auto czar Steven Rattner. “Bain Capital is not now, nor has it ever been, some kind of Gordon Gekko-like, fire-breathing corporate raider that slashed and burned companies, immolating jobs wherever they appear in its path,” Rattner wrote in Politico this year.

Contempt vote still on; Legislation to block King Obama's edict; Deep cuts in nuclear weapons sought; Thousands in Rio march against "green economy"; Occupy movement collapsing; Michigan's bold new voter registration law; NBC lying again by manipulating tape; Dems have not yet nominated Obama to be a candidate; Dem hopes of taking back House dimming; Protesting children singing God Bless the USA; Computer Virus "Flame"; Obama's book full of lies

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. faces a contempt of Congress hearing Wednesday after refusing a last-minute compromise offer to turn over subpoenaed documents to a House committee investigating the botched Fast and Furious gunrunning operation.
Rep. David Schweikert (R-Ariz.) on Monday proposed legislation that would block enforcement of President Obama's new policy of letting certain illegal immigrants request temporary relief from deportation.
Schweikert's bill would specifically prohibit the Department of Homeland Security from allowing that relief, which Obama described on Friday as an option for up to 800,000 immigrants who came to the United States illegally at a young age. Schweikert said his bill would prevent Obama from "dictating" immigration law from the White House.
"Instead of working with Congress to secure our border and reform our immigration policy, President Obama sought to circumvent Congress once again."
President Obama has decided to seek deeper cuts in deployed strategic nuclear weapons to as few as 1,000 warheads, sharply below the target of 1,550 warheads required under a 2010 U.S.-Russia arms treaty, U.S. officials said Monday.
Critics say the steep cuts, which the administration will seek in new talks with a growing anti-U.S. government in Moscow, would undermine U.S. strategic deterrence for the United States and its allies in Asia and Europe.
The lower warhead levels also would be contrary to recent congressional testimony from a strategic forces commander who said further cuts would weaken the ability to deter nuclear states like Russia and China.
Thousands of women representing social and farm movements marched in central Rio Monday to rail against the "green economy" advocated by the Rio+20 conference on sustainable development.
Behind a large banner from the international peasant movement Via Campesina proclaiming "the peoples are against the mercantilization of nature", they marched several miles to the Flamengo park, the venue for the "People's Summit" organized by civil society groups on the sidelines of the Rio+20 event.
The annual Take Back the American Dream Conference was moved up to June this election year — the Occupy encampments are gone, and participants in the conference were pondering what went wrong. Or, as activist Van Jones put it to them, what has become of “the voice that is missing.”
Jones, an Obama administration official who resigned under pressure because of his far-left positions, is a fixture at the annual gatherings and a fiery orator. But this version of his yearly pep talk was laced with disappointment. “I’m watching that movement that inspired the world . . . that stunned the world, in the moment of maximum peril now sit down,” he lamented at the opening session, where half of the 500 seats were filled.
Suffering Americans, he went on, “need a movement that is willing to stand with them — and yet there is this reluctance. We saw in Wisconsin what happens when we put our minimum against our opponents’ maximum. . . . Are we going to let the tea party govern America?”
Over the weekend, the Michigan state House voted to join a number of other states that have passed laws that impede the work of voter registration organizations and restrict access to the ballot for thousands of eligible voters.
The legislation creates several burdensome requirements on community-based voter registration organizations, including registering with the Michigan secretary of state, and “promptly” (which is undefined) updating any changes to the information provided to the state. Also, the legislation would require a registered agent of the organization to receive training, to be designed by the secretary of state, on proper procedure for registering voters. The only people who will be allowed to register voters will be agents that the original registered agent has trained. The organization must keep on file for no less than two years the oaths of its registered agents accepting the penalties for not following the law.
All of these extra hoops could discourage registration organizations from working in Michigan.
[NBC LIES AGAIN BY DOCTORING TAPE]: After NBC was caught selectively editing the George Zimmerman police tapes to make it seem like he was volunteering racial information, MSNBC has been caught editing a clip of Mitt Romney to make him seem wildly “out of touch,” when he was really just explaining the difference between the private and public sectors.
In the MSNBC clip, Romney is shown discussing Wawa’s convenience stores like he has never been to one before (presumably because he is “too good” for such an establishment).
Introduced by Andrea Mitchell saying: “I get the feeling–take a look at this– that Mitt Romney has not been to too many Wawa’s along the roadside in Pennsylvania,” Romney says: “I was at Wawa’s, I wanted to order a sandwich.  You press the little touch tone keypad, alright, you just touch that, and you know, the sandwich comes at you, touch this, touch this, touch this, go pay the cashier, there’s your sandwich.  It’s amazing.”
Momentarily speechless, Mitchell repeats, “It’s amazing,” as her guest breaks into sharp laughter.
Too bad the clip was taken wildly out of context.
[What is going on here?  Typical lawyering.] A lawyer for President Barack Obama argued today in Florida that a lawsuit claiming his client "is not eligible to appear on the November ballot because he is not a 'natural born citizen,'” should be dismissed on the grounds that the Democratic Party has not yet nominated a candidate.
In Tallahasse, Florida, Attorney Mark Herron, representing President Obama, told Leon County, Florida Circuit Judge Terry Lewis that the January 31, 2012 Florida Presidential Preference Primary “did not result in nomination or election” and that “federal law precludes this court from determining whether a candidate for the office of President of the United States is qualified under Article Two Section Five of the United States Constitution.”
“There has been no nomination to office, there has been no election to office,” Herron told Judge Lewis.
Democratic hopes of recapturing the House are dimming as a series of race-by-race setbacks and economic uncertainty suggest that the 25 seats they need to net might be out of reach.
The Hill projects that Democrats will net somewhere between 10 and 15 seats, assuming the presidential election remains a close contest.
As school bells signaled the end of the day, students at PS 90 in Brooklyn greeted their parents. Moments after students began exiting the school doors, senate hopeful Rep. Congressman Bob Turner and his staff arrived and a showdown between two factions of angered parents took place.
The congressman was there to chime in with kids singing Lee Greenwood's patriotic anthem, God Bless the U.S.A., which had been removed by PS 90's principal from a kindergarten graduation ceremony. Watch as Turner and some of the children take their revenge in the video above.
The rising tensions over the last week all came to a head yesterday afternoon when Turner showed up to sing with some of the students. Despite previously arranging to sing the song on the school's Neptune Playground, the congressman was refused entry as school security said a rental company was picking up supplies from a carnival and would not be able to move. One of Turner's staff angrily argued with the school's security for several minutes before saying, "Fine we'll just do it on the sidewalk!"

As 20 or so students started to sing the opening stanza, the two factions of parents began arguing loudly. On the one side was Luz Lozada, one of the parents from the Facebook group; on the other was Jorge Rosado, husband of PTA president Deena Rosado.
Lozada and Rosado began a screaming match that lasted the duration of the children singing and boiled over further when they began shouting obscenities at one another over a sea of students.
The United States and Israel jointly developed a sophisticated computer virus nicknamed Flame that collected intelligence in preparation for cyber-sabotage aimed at slowing Iran’s ability to develop a nuclear weapon, according to Western officials with knowledge of the effort.
The massive piece of malware secretly mapped and monitored Iran’s computer networks, sending back a steady stream of intelligence to prepare for a cyberwarfare campaign, according to the officials.
The effort, involving the National Security Agency, the CIA and Israel’s military, has included the use of destructive software such as the Stuxnet virus to cause malfunctions in Iran’s nuclear-enrichment equipment.
The emerging details about Flame provide new clues to what is thought to be the first sustained campaign of cyber-sabotage against an adversary of the United States.
“This is about preparing the battlefield for another type of covert action,” said one former high-ranking U.S. intelligence official, who added that Flame and Stuxnet were elements of a broader assault that continues today. “Cyber-collection against the Iranian program is way further down the road than this.”

Yes, finally, an Obama biographer admits what the right side of the blogosphere has known for the last four years, that there was no Obama family, that the president's mother and presumed father never lived together, and that mother and baby "were long gone from Honolulu" within a month of the baby's birth.
Unfortunately, no one bothered to check the record while Obama was basing his persona and his candidacy on the myth of this multicultural romance.  This includes Maraniss himself.  In a botched 10,000-word Washington Post article published on the eve of the 2008 election, he chose to overlook the fact that Obama created a false narrative for the first two years of his life and then ran for president on that narrative.

The seriousness of "Securitygate"; The hatred of the left; Impeachment is appropriate; No Sharia law in Kansas; This is no burning straw; US and others try to censor internet search results; Let them get polio; Key Catholic ally drops support; Game changer by defense contrators; The Obama Fellowship; Details of King Obama's Immigration Decree; McGurk's judgement the issue

photo.JPGWhat I call “Securitygate” — the release of the most intricate details about the cyber war against Iran, the revelations about a Yemeni double-agent, disclosures about covert operations in and against Pakistan, intimate details about the Osama bin Laden raid and the trove of information taken from his compound, and the Predator drone assassination list and the president’s methodology in selecting targets — is far more serious than either prior scandal. David Sanger and others claim that all this was sort of in the public domain anyway; well, “sort of” covers a lot of ground. We sort of knew about the cyber war against Iran, but not to the detail that Sanger provides and not through the direct agency of the Obama administration itself.
Here is the crux of the scandal: Obama is formulating a new policy of avoiding overt unpopular engagements, while waging an unprecedented covert war across the world. He’s afraid that the American people do not fully appreciate these once-secret efforts and might in 2012 look only at his mishaps in Afghanistan or his public confusion over Islamic terror. Ergo, feed information to a Sanger or Ignatius so that they can skillfully inform us, albeit with a bit of dramatic “shock” and “surprise,” just how tough, brutal, and deadly Barack Obama really is.
Yet these disclosures will endanger our national security.  Here is why Securitygate is a national outrage and goes to the heart of a free and civil society......
Reader, forget politics. Just digest the nature, theme, the timing, and the damage of these disclosures. Do that and most of you will conclude they are offenses to the security of the United States — or, in the words of Barack Obama on another matter, “unpatriotic.”

[Martin Bashir should lose his right to be on TV for doing the following news item on Romney, in my view.  It is, however, typical of the hatred displayed by the Left, for they fear a loss of their power in this election.   DO watch the short Video: MSNBC notes Romney’s bus tour with montage of exploding buses]:

From Hot Air: Lest you doubt that they actually ran this, the Washington Free Beacon has posted its own copy of the same segment. The excuse here will be that it’s just a jokey metaphor for how badly things can go on the campaign trail, not any sort of death wish directed at Romney. Which may be true — but remember, Bashir is among MSNBC’s most enthusiastic practitioners of psychoanalyzing one’s political opponents to attribute the worst possible motives to them. If a Fox host used the same montage for an Obama bus trip, the “metaphor” excuse would never, ever fly, and Bashir would be leading the parade of righteous indignation. He’s a paradigm case of someone who thinks his own shinola doesn’t stink even though, as you’re about to see, the stench is overpowering.
If the citizens of this Republic still took the Constitution seriously, Obama would be impeached for his decision to unilaterally grant amnesty to certain illegal aliens.
Article 1, Sec. 8 of the Constitution, which enumerates the power of Congress, states that "Congress shall have the Power To... establish an [sic] uniform Rule of Naturalization." Congress has passed numerous laws pertaining to immigration and naturalization, including laws requiring the deportation of illegals.
The role of the President, according to Article II, Sec. 3, is to "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed." Obama's refusal to execute Congress's immigration laws (or, for that matter, Congress's Defense of Marriage Act) is an impeachable offense. Article II, Sec. 4 states that the President "shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for... Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors." The deliberate failure to enforce valid immigration law and allow hordes of foreigners to live and work in the U.S. is, arguably, "treason," and doing so in an election year to appease Hispanic voters could certainly be considered "bribery."

The upshot of Obama's policy not only to allow hundreds of thousands of illegals to live and work in the U.S. during a time of 8 to 10% unemployment, but even worse, since the vast number of illegals we're talking about are Hispanics eligible for affirmative-action preferences, to actually get preferential treatment over native-born Americans.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Republican Kansas Governor Sam Brownback signed a bill aimed at keeping state courts and agencies from using Islamic or other non-U.S. laws when making decisions, his office said on Friday, drawing criticism from a national Muslim group. The law has been dubbed the "sharia bill" because critics say it targets the Islamic legal code. Sharia, or Islamic law, covers all aspects of Muslim life, including religious obligations and financial dealings. Opponents of state bans say they could nullify wills or legal contracts between Muslims.
Supporters said the law will reassure foreigners in Kansas that state laws and the U.S. Constitution would protect them. Opponents said it singled out Muslims for ridicule and was unnecessary because American laws prevail on U.S. soil. [Inch by inch......]
[Let me say that I have visited China.  When we went to Chian we could not even barely see the nuclear power stacks due to the terrible smoke in the air from the burning of their corn crops.  This photo below is not at all what that looked like, of course.] A couple days after residents in central Chinese provinces received warnings they should stay inside due a mysterious yellow-grey haze, a giant mushroom shaped cloud has also been spotted in the sky over Beijing.
(Related: Is this mysterious, yellow haze in China really from burning straw?)
Officials said last week the haze was the result of burning straw — an illegal but still practiced activity. The June 14 cloud on the other hand is reported to be a natural phenomenon created by clouds typically associated with thunderstorms.
Here are a few photos of the cloud from China Daily:

-- Let’s hope the explanation suffices. That’s because some citizens of the Hunan, Hubei, Anhui, Jiangxi and Jiangsu provinces witnessing the haze (not the cloud) criticized the government’s explanation and two were arrested for spreading rumors the haze was the result of a chemical plant malfunction.
Western governments, including the United States, appear to be stepping up efforts to censor Internet search results and YouTube videos, according to a "transparency report" released by Google.
"It's alarming not only because free expression is at risk, but because some of these requests come from countries you might not suspect -- Western democracies not typically associated with censorship," Dorothy Chou, a senior policy analyst at Google, wrote in a blog post on Sunday night.
In the last half of 2011, U.S. agencies asked Google to remove 6,192 individual pieces of content from its search results, blog posts or archives of online videos, according to the report. That's up 718% compared with the 757 such items that U.S. agencies asked Google to remove in the six months prior.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------QUOTE----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Taliban commander in northwest Pakistan has announced a ban on polio vaccines for children as long as the United States continues its campaign of drone strikes in the region, according to a statement by the Taliban.
"Polio drops will be banned in North Waziristan until the drones strikes are stopped," said the statement, released Saturday.
"Almost every resident of North Waziristan has become a mental patient because of the drone strikes, which are worse than polio," the statement continued. "On one hand, the U.S. spends millions of dollars to eliminate polio, while on the other hand it kills hundreds with the help of its slave, Pakistan."

The Obama administration’s key Catholic ally on its controversial plan to require health insurers to provide free contraceptive coverage is dropping support for the plan, potentially complicating the president’s relations with Catholics in an election year.
The Catholic Health Association, which comprises 2,000 Catholic hospitals, health systems and related organizations, said Friday that although it had initially supported what the White House called a compromise on the contraception issue, it is now “deeply concerned” about the plan and says the White House “has not relieved our initial concerns.”
Facing economic uncertainty, defense contractors are plotting to spur Congress to nix the automatic budget cuts set to begin next year.
The plan? Threaten to send out layoff notices — hundreds of thousands of them, right before Election Day.
Congress, industry leaders contend, has left them few options. Federal law, they say, requires employers to give notice of 60 days to workers facing layoffs.
For President Barack Obama and congressional incumbents, the timing couldn’t be worse. With the automatic cuts, called sequestration, set to begin taking effect on Jan. 2, the layoff notices would have to be sent out by Nov. 2 — four days before this fall’s elections.

As I noted on Friday, campaign organizers for the Obama reelection campaign are called "Fellows" and communicate on Twitter using the hashtag #fellows2012. But did you know that they have an official crest?
"Become an organizing fellow, get your own family crest," reads a note on the campaign's Tumblr page.
The Obama "Fellowship" is a 12-week, volunteer program that takes place in the summer and fall of 2012.
The maddening details of Obama’s DREAM Decree are becoming clearer. As this CIS report notes, 1) The decree doesn’t just apply to illegal immigrants who were “brought to this country by their parents.” It also would give work permits to those who snuck across the border by themselves as teenagers. “Through no fault of their own” is a talking point for DREAM proselytizers, not an actual legal requirement. 2) The same goes for the phrase “and know only this country as home.” That’s a highly imaginative riff on the decree’s actual requirement, which is for 5 years “continuous residence.”  It turns out “continuous residence” doesn’t mean what you think it means. “Immigration attorneys have been successful in getting immigration courts to whittle this down to a point where it is almost meaningless,” says CIS’s Jon Feere. As an illegal immigrant you can go back
abroad for multiple 6-month stints during those five years–but, if precedent holds, in Janet Napolitano’s eyes you will still “know only this country as home.” …

Sources on Capitol Hill praised the White House for “finally waking up” to the fact that former National Security Council member Brett McGurk was unfit to serve as the next ambassador to Iraq.
McGurk, who withdrew his name from consideration late Monday afternoon, was caught in a series of leaked emails engaging in an affair with a former Wall Street Journal reporter while the duo were stationed in Iraq and he was serving as a senior Bush administration official.
The emails raised questions about McGurk’s judgment and led to concerns that he could have been trading sensitive information for sexual favors.
“This nomination has been in free fall since the emails became public,” said one GOP aide close to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, which was considering McGurk’s nomination.

Rep. King to sue King Obama; Unprecedented alliance between Democratic Party and Communist Party; Voter frauds; Guatamalan citizen is not a legitimate voter; Understanding the Muslim "civilain jihad" threat in America; U.S. Military now in Yemen and Somalia; Malkin "just a blogger", says Juan; No global warming since 1998; Obama Professor urges us not to vote for Obama; Expanded social safety net linked to high job losses

Iowa Republican Rep. Steve King said Friday that he plans to sue the Obama administration to halt implementation of its newly announced selective illegal immigration law enforcement policy. He told Mike Huckabee on the former Arkansas governor’s radio program Friday that he successfully sued his own state’s governor — and won — over a similar separation-of-powers issue.
“I will tell you that — I’m not without experience on this — I’m prepared to bring a suit and seek a court order to stop implementation of this policy,” King said
A top communist defector is warning of an unprecedented “alliance” between the Democratic Party and the Communist Party, reflected in the CPUSA’s endorsement of Barack Obama for president in 2008 and the party’s continued support for Democratic Party policies. But is this warning going to be too hot to handle for the media? And the Republicans?
Lt. Gen. Ion Mihai Pacepa, the highest-ranking official ever to have defected from the former Soviet bloc, says in an article for PJMedia that any doubt that the Democratic and the Communist parties had secretly joined forces was erased in 2009, “when Van Jones, part of a left fringe of declared communists, became the White House’s green jobs czar.”
Obama aide Valerie Jarrett had disclosed at a left-wing bloggers convention that “we,” apparently referring to herself and President Obama, had hired Jones for the job. However, Jones was fired when an outcry developed over his communist background, and the media quickly dropped any probes into Jones’ White House contacts.
Pacepa, who served as a top aide in the Romanian communist regime, tells Accuracy in Media, “The Democratic Party has become dangerously infected with the Marxism virus. I recognize the symptoms because I once lived through them, and I believe it is my obligation as an American citizen to help the conservative movement to prevent any further spread of Marxism in my adopted country.”
He adds that he is personally convinced that Obama is a Marxist.

"A polling place, inside a gymnasium, featured a giant poster of Obama '08".

Soon after the election, Breitbart News, also, reported on evidence they received of “potential voter fraud, ballot insecurity and unethical activity on behalf of the community-organized Left in Racine, Wisconsin”.  Their evidence revealed:
  • Residents were enticed to vote in exchange for a free meal;
  • Video of open ballot boxes with ballots dropped on the floor;
  • Reports of ballots being torn out of the ballot machines and ripped up;
  • AFL-CIO vehicles displaying recall placards, with megaphones playing a recording of Jesse Jackson telling residents of targeted poor neighborhoods to get to the polls;
  • Reports of “electioneering” inside the polling places;
  • An election observer saw the same woman vote three times at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center polling place; and
  • Election observers receiving threats of physical harm.
Now, there’s more.
According to the MacIver News Serviceelection documents have been discovered in a dumpster outside one of the polling locations.  The Sheriff for Racine County is now investigating.
The Justice Department lawsuit against Florida will stop Florida from removing non-citizen voters from the rolls by freezing the entire purge process.  Justice claims that immediate removal of foreigners falls within time limits that restrict Florida’s ability to remove legitimately registered voters.
But a citizen of Guatemala isn’t a legitimately registered voter in Florida in the first place.  They committed a crime when they registered to vote. Florida and the Justice Department should be indicting and prosecuting these voters who falsely registered.
But maybe they made a simple mistake when the registered to vote? Nonsense.

Ottawa airport wired with microphones as Border Services prepares to record travellers’ conversations

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Washington, DC, June 14, 2012: Five influential Members of Congress called yesterday for the inspectors general (IGs) of government departments with national security responsibilities to investigate whether their agencies are being subjected to influence operations mounted as part of what the Muslim Brotherhood calls its “civilization jihad.” This initiative holds out hope that a grave, and largely unremarked, threat may thus be recognized and thwarted in time.
In a joint press statement, each of these congressional leaders expressed profound concern about the dangers posed by the Muslim Brotherhood and the need to understand that threat here in the United States.  What is more, they cited in their letters evidence of the penetration of Brotherhood operatives and allies inside the Obama administration, and examples of policies that appear to have been influenced as a result.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For the first time, the Obama administration has publicly stated that U.S. military forces are engaged in direct action against suspected terrorists in Yemen and Somalia.
In a letter to Congress on Friday, President Barack Obama informed lawmakers of U.S. military actions in the two nations that have seen significant terrorist activity and civil unrest.
Following her tense segment on Hannity with Juan Williams this week, where she was insulted as just a “blogger on the blogosphere” and “not a real journalist,“ Michelle Malkin is firing back at the ”snotty condescension from liberal elite journalists” like Williams.
At the “Right Online” convention this weekend, Malkin began her speech, “My name is Michelle Malkin and I am just a blogger,” to roars of applause.
She continued: “You’re blogging in your spare time when these ‘real reporters’ can‘t do their jobs when they’re on the clock!  ‘Just a blogger…’  I want it on a t-shirt.”
After all, as most  of us are now aware, there has been no ‘global warming’ since 1998, which is when the curve on the graph goes flat.
In the eternally moving battlefield of claim and counter-claim in the great climate change debate, even the fervently warmist Professor Phil Jones – of the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit – concedes that there has been no ‘statistically significant warming’ since 1995.
In the simplest, human terms, therefore, no one younger than 14 years old has experienced global warming.
So why does our Government go on acting as if it’s a major problem? Why all t
hese hugely expensive commitments to ‘decarbonisation’ and ‘renewable energy’? Why all the eco-taxes on our holiday flights and wind-farms – if the supposed threat they were designed to avert now turns out to be unsupported by real-world evidence?
It is not just ‘deniers’ who are asking these questions.
Last week, in London, the Global Warming Policy Foundation hosted a lecture by a leading German green – former activist and Hamburg state environment senator Prof Fritz Vahrenholt.
The evidence for man-made global warming is looking shakier by the day, Germany’s answer to Jonathon Porritt or George Monbiot admitted. Far more likely a culprit is the sun.
A former professor of Barack Obama has turned against his one-time student and publicly urged voters not to re-elect him.
Roberto Unger posted a video on YouTube detailing the reasons why he believes the President does not deserve a second term in the White House.
Mr Unger, a prominent Brazilian politician and an adviser to Obama in 2008, said: 'President Obama must be defeated in the coming election. He has failed to advance the progressive cause in the United States.'
A prominent economist has found that expanding the social safety net, a key factor to President Barack Obama’s economic agenda, has nearly doubled job losses.
University of Chicago Prof. Casey Mulligan, author of the soon-to-be-released The Redistribution Recession, found that without the rapid increase of the social safety net during the economic crisis, unemployment per capita would have increased by 4 percentage points, half of the 8 point jump the U.S. experienced.
“The less painful it is to be without a job, the less reasons employees and employers have to work together to save a job,” Mulligan said. “By making the safety net more generous, you’re going to have more businesses close up because of higher costs, and you’re going to see employees who will refuse to work if their wage is going to be less than their unemployment.”
he benefits came at a price. The effective marginal tax rate for low-income households—the rate at which each additional dollar in income is taxed—rose from 40 percent in 2007 to 48 percent in 2009.
The increased costs to the labor market provided unemployed workers with little incentive to get back on their feet immediately, and deterred current employees from taking pay cuts in a down economy, according to Mulligan.
“When the White House pitched the so-called stimulus bill, they portrayed unemployment and food stamps as free and said they would make the labor market better,” Mulligan said. “That is not only wrong, it is dishonest to those in the labor market who need jobs.
