Rep. David Schweikert (R-Ariz.) on Monday proposed legislation that
would block enforcement of President Obama's new policy of letting
certain illegal immigrants request temporary relief from deportation.
Schweikert's
bill would specifically prohibit the Department of Homeland Security
from allowing that relief, which Obama described on Friday as an option
for up to 800,000 immigrants who came to the United States illegally at a
young age. Schweikert said his bill would prevent Obama from
"dictating" immigration law from the White House.

President Obama has decided to seek deeper cuts in deployed strategic
nuclear weapons to as few as 1,000 warheads, sharply below the target
of 1,550 warheads required under a 2010 U.S.-Russia arms treaty, U.S.
officials said Monday.
Critics say the steep cuts, which the administration will seek in new
talks with a growing anti-U.S. government in Moscow, would undermine
U.S. strategic deterrence for the United States and its allies in Asia
and Europe.
The lower warhead levels also would be contrary to recent
congressional testimony from a strategic forces commander who said
further cuts would weaken the ability to deter nuclear states like
Russia and China.

Thousands of women representing social and farm
movements marched in central Rio Monday to rail against the "green
economy" advocated by the Rio+20 conference on sustainable development.
Behind a large banner from the international peasant movement Via
Campesina proclaiming "the peoples are against the mercantilization of
nature", they marched several miles to the Flamengo park, the venue for
the "People's Summit" organized by civil society groups on the sidelines
of the Rio+20 event.

The annual
Take Back the American Dream Conference
was moved up to June this election year — the Occupy encampments are
gone, and participants in the conference were pondering what went wrong.
Or, as activist Van Jones put it to them, what has become of “the voice
that is missing.”
Jones, an Obama administration official
who resigned under pressure because
of his far-left positions, is a fixture at the annual gatherings and a
fiery orator. But this version of his yearly pep talk was laced with
disappointment. “I’m watching that movement that inspired the world . . .
that stunned the world, in the moment of maximum peril now sit down,”
he lamented at the opening session, where half of the 500 seats were
filled.
Suffering Americans, he went on, “need a movement that is
willing to stand with them — and yet there is this reluctance. We saw
in Wisconsin what happens when we put our minimum against our opponents’
maximum. . . . Are we going to let the tea party govern America?”

Over the weekend, the Michigan state House voted to join a number of
other states that have passed laws that impede the work of voter
registration organizations and restrict access to the ballot for
thousands of eligible voters.
The legislation creates several burdensome requirements on
community-based voter registration organizations, including registering
with the Michigan secretary of state, and “promptly” (which is
undefined) updating any changes to the information provided to the
state. Also, the legislation would require a registered agent of the
organization to receive training, to be designed by the secretary of
state, on proper procedure for registering voters. The only people who
will be allowed to register voters will be agents that the original
registered agent has trained. The organization must keep on file for no
less than two years the oaths of its registered agents accepting the
penalties for not following the law.
All of these extra hoops could discourage registration organizations from working in Michigan.

[NBC LIES AGAIN BY DOCTORING TAPE]: After NBC was caught selectively editing the George Zimmerman police tapes to make it seem like he was
volunteering racial information, MSNBC
has been caught
editing a clip of Mitt Romney to make him seem wildly “out of touch,”
when he was really just explaining the difference between the private
and public sectors.
In the MSNBC clip, Romney is shown discussing Wawa’s convenience
stores like he has never been to one before (presumably because he is
“too good” for such an establishment).
Introduced by Andrea Mitchell saying: “I get the feeling–take a look
at this– that Mitt Romney has not been to too many Wawa’s along the
roadside in Pennsylvania,” Romney says: “I was at Wawa’s, I wanted to
order a sandwich. You press the little touch tone keypad, alright, you
just touch that, and you know, the sandwich comes at you, touch this,
touch this, touch this, go pay the cashier, there’s your sandwich. It’s
amazing.”
Momentarily speechless, Mitchell repeats, “It’s amazing,” as her guest breaks into sharp laughter.
Too bad the clip was taken wildly out of context.

[What is going on here? Typical lawyering.] A lawyer for President Barack Obama argued today in Florida that a lawsuit claiming his client "
is not eligible to appear on the November ballot because he is not a 'natural born citizen,'” should be dismissed on the grounds that the Democratic Party has not yet nominated a candidate.
In Tallahasse, Florida, Attorney Mark Herron, representing President
Obama, told Leon County, Florida Circuit Judge Terry Lewis that the
January 31, 2012 Florida Presidential Preference Primary “did not result
in nomination or election” and that “federal law precludes this court
from determining whether a candidate for the office of President of the
United States is qualified under Article Two Section Five of the United
States Constitution.”
“There has been no nomination to office, there has been no election to office,” Herron told Judge Lewis.

Democratic hopes of recapturing the House are dimming as a series of
race-by-race setbacks and economic uncertainty suggest that the 25 seats
they need to net might be out of reach.
The Hill projects that Democrats will net somewhere between 10 and 15 seats, assuming the presidential election remains a close contest.

As school bells signaled the end of the day, students at PS 90 in
Brooklyn greeted their parents. Moments after students began exiting the
school doors, senate hopeful Rep. Congressman Bob Turner and his staff
arrived and a showdown between two factions of angered parents took
place.
The congressman was there to chime in with kids singing Lee Greenwood's patriotic anthem,
God Bless the U.S.A.,
which had been removed by PS 90's principal from a kindergarten
graduation ceremony. Watch as Turner and some of the children take their
revenge in the video above.
The rising tensions over the last week all came to a head yesterday
afternoon when Turner showed up to sing with some of the students.
Despite previously arranging to sing the song on the school's Neptune
Playground, the congressman was refused entry as school security said a
rental company was picking up supplies from a carnival and would not be
able to move. One of Turner's staff angrily argued with the school's
security for several minutes before saying, "Fine we'll just do it on
the sidewalk!"
As 20 or so students started to sing the opening stanza, the two
factions of parents began arguing loudly. On the one side was Luz
Lozada, one of the parents from the Facebook group; on the other was
Jorge Rosado, husband of PTA president Deena Rosado.
Lozada and Rosado began a screaming match that lasted the duration of
the children singing and boiled over further when they began shouting
obscenities at one another over a sea of students.

The United States and Israel jointly developed a sophisticated
computer virus nicknamed Flame that collected intelligence in
preparation for cyber-sabotage aimed at slowing Iran’s ability to
develop a nuclear weapon, according to Western officials with knowledge
of the effort.
The
massive piece of malware
secretly mapped and monitored Iran’s computer networks, sending back a
steady stream of intelligence to prepare for a cyberwarfare campaign,
according to the officials.
The effort, involving the National
Security Agency, the CIA and Israel’s military, has included the use of
destructive software such as the
Stuxnet virus to cause malfunctions in Iran’s nuclear-enrichment equipment.
The
emerging details about Flame provide new clues to what is thought to be
the first sustained campaign of cyber-sabotage against an adversary of
the United States.
“This is about preparing the battlefield for
another type of covert action,” said one former high-ranking U.S.
intelligence official, who added that Flame and Stuxnet were elements of
a broader assault that continues today. “Cyber-collection against the
Iranian program is way further down the road than this.”

Obama: The Story' by David Maraniss catalogues dozens of instances in
which Obama deviated significantly from the truth in his book 'Dreams
from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance'. The 641-page book
punctures the carefully-crafted narrative of Obama’s life.
One
of the enduring myths of Obama’s ancestry is that his paternal
grandfather Hussein Onyango Obama, who served as a cook in the British
Army, was imprisoned in 1949 by the British for helping the
anti-colonial Mau Mau rebels and held for several months.

Yes,
finally, an Obama biographer admits what the right side of the
blogosphere has known for the last four years, that there was no Obama
family, that the president's mother and presumed father never lived
together, and that mother and baby "were long gone from Honolulu" within
a month of the baby's birth.
Unfortunately, no one bothered to check the record
while Obama was basing his persona and his candidacy on the myth of
this multicultural romance. This includes Maraniss himself. In a
botched 10,000-word Washington Post article published on the
eve of the 2008 election, he chose to overlook the fact that Obama
created a false narrative for the first two years of his life and then
ran for president on that narrative.
