The Washington Times tells us: Gasoline prices haven't gotten much attention amid all the other bad economic news for Democrats heading into a final week of campaigning, but the price per gallon has climbed nearly 15 cents since Labor Day - a surprising jump, given that prices usually plummet before an election.
The cost of a gallon of gas has eclipsed the $3 mark in several parts of the country and clocks in nationally at $2.82, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA). That's up from $2.68 on Sept. 6, and overall about $1 higher than the week of Jan. 26, 2009, when President Obama took office and the per-gallon price was $1.81. [First of all, this is just what our President said needs to happen. He is all for skyrocketing utility and gas prices, for that will decrease consumption. Second of all, what did we expect when he got a moratorium on drilling for oil in the ocean? Yes - higher prices and many more people on welfare for the loss of their jobs. What a plan.] http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/oct/25/gas-prices-rise-breaking-pattern/

CAIRO (AP) - A U.S.-born spokesman for al-Qaida on Saturday urged Muslims living in the United States and Europe to carry out attacks there, calling it a duty and an obligation. In a 48-minute video posted on militant websites, Adam Gadahn directed his appeal to Muslim immigrants in what he called the "miserable suburbs" of Paris, London and Detroit, as well as those traveling to the West to study or work.
"It is the duty of everyone who is sincere in his desire to defend Islam and Muslims today, to take the initiative to perform the individual obligation of jihad ... by striking the Zio-Crusader interests," he said, referring to Western and Jewish interests http://www.wtop.com/?sid=2090634&nid=105

Newsblog opines: President Obama's final [Rhode Island campaign] stop was a $7,500-a-head fundraiser in the well-appointed home of Arnold "Buff" and Johnnie Chace on the East Side, not far from Brown University.
The president spoke for about 20 minutes, then left before the dinner of locally grown foods by celebrated Rhode Island chefs -- including lobster risotto -- that Mrs. Chace had planned.
Fewer than 50 were in attendance, according to Eric Hyers, campaign manager for Providence Mayor David N. Cicilline, the Democratic candidate for the House seat being vacated by Rep. Patrick J. Kennedy.
Mr. Obama concluded his remarks at about 7:30, saying he couldn't stay for dinner.
"I've got to go home to tuck in the girls and walk the dog and scoop the poop," he said. http://newsblog.projo.com/2010/10/obama-speaks-at-chace-house-sk.html

From the Huffington Post: In an extraordinary move to nip the inflammatory commentary coming from Glenn Beck, the founder and CEO of the Tides Foundation (a frequent Beck target) has written advertisers asking them to remove their sponsorship of the Fox News program or risk having "blood on their hands." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/10/15/tides-foundation-ceo-glenn-beck_n_764470.html
Sourcewatch writes: Founded in 1976, the Tides Foundation has provided more than $300 million in funding for what it calls "positive social change ... We define 'progressive' as creating a positive impact on people's lives in ways that honor and promote human rights, justice, and a healthy, sustainable environment." [In my estimation, encouraging citizens to live from cradle to grave with government's largess is actually a way to prevent their ascendancy in life, and to create forever-Democrat votes.]
Funders of the Tides Foundation have included the Pew Charitable Trusts. Recipients of Tides Foundation grants have included Greenpeace, the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), Environmental Media Services, and the Environmental Working Group, National Public Radio,
The Tides Foundation also sponsors the Tides Center, which provides training and other startup assistance to activist groups.

A Book Review By DICK MORRIS of The New Road to Serfdom: A Letter of Warning to America by Daniel Hannan: From the clutches of European Socialism comes the warning cry of Dan Hannan, a Conservative member of the European Parliament from Britain. Hannan, who achieved celebrity in the United States for his pithy denunciations of statism, celebrates what is magnificent in the American example and warns us against letting it be subsumed by a growing government and Obama-esque socialism.
He underscores how socialism aims not just to change our economy, but to change us. It seeks to make us into a timid, pessimistic, frightened, dependent people only to eager to sign away their ambition and freedom in return for three square meals a day and a roof over our heads. He warns that socialism conditions us to be guilty and to rein in all that makes us, in the words of Abraham Lincoln, "the last best hope of Earth."
Next week, we go to the polls to determine if Hannan's fears are justified.
But Hannan does a lot more. He reminds us how unique America is. He describes how our optimism, hard work, thrift, ambition, flexibility, and adaptability is without parallel in the world. He itemizes our exceptionalism and warns against the leveling impulse of those who, like our President, neither perceive it nor want to preserve it. http://www.blogger.com/post-create.g?blogID=2524324467828580210

A George Soros-funded organization, aided by Texas U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, a Democrat, apparently is trying to chase volunteer observers from precinct polling locations across Harris County, Texas, after the watchers found election judges and clerks allegedly voting for citizens who were undecided.
“Only a week into early voting, volunteer poll-watchers also are being verbally and physically harassed by people loitering at the polls with no intention to vote at the time, including a man identified as a reverend and Houston Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, who was seen inside the polling location electioneering and threatening to turn a poll-watcher’s name to the Department of Justice for voter intimidation,” said a statement from Liberty Institute.
The dispute has its roots in the bitter fight over elections that has developed in 2010, as Democrats both nationally and locally are feeling the sting of abandonment by voters who are enraged by the general takeover of society being pursued by President Obama.
WND reported just days ago when the U.S. Department of Justice confirmed it would investigate Democrat complaints of “intimidation” by “white middle class” poll observers in minority precincts in Harris County. They were accused of “hovering” around voters. http://www.exposeobama.com/2010/10/26/soros-group-launches-attack-on-poll-watchers/?utm_source=Expose+Obama&utm_campaign=a48e9033be-EO_10_26_201010_26_2010&utm_medium=email

NEW YORK , N.Y. - October 25, 2010 - President Obama is spending the next week crisscrossing the country in support of Democratic candidates before this year's midterm elections. While the president may do a great job of energizing the base, he may not be able to convert any Independents who have yet to decide for whom they will vote. Currently, two-thirds of Americans (67%) have a negative opinion of the job President Obama is doing while just over one-third (37%) have a positive opinion. This continues the president's downward trend and he is now at the lowest job approval rating of his presidency.
These are some of the results of The Harris Poll of 3,084 adults surveyed online between October 11 and 18, 2010 by Harris Interactive.
It's perhaps not surprising that nine in ten Republicans (90%) and Conservatives (89%) give the job the president is doing negative ratings. What may be surprising is that one-third of Democrats (34%) and Liberals (33%) also give him negative ratings, as do seven in ten Independents (70%) and six in ten Moderates (60%).

Endowed By Creator Once Again; Supreme Court Justice Being Investigated; Anti-Sharia Law Initiatives; EPA Job Opening, No Experience Required; "Shove It"; NPR; Barack Obama
[Obama has put "endowed by the creator" back into his speeches about the Declaration of Independence, after three times pausing and then omitting the words. Just in time for the election and just in time to get back in the good graces of those who were offended when he took those words out of his speeches......]

A Supreme Court justice is being investigated now by a member of Congress, as reported by the Huffington Post and discussed by the Wall Street Journal.
As per Wikipedia: Citizens United v Federal Election Commission, 130 S.Ct. 876 (2010), was a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court holding that corporate funding of independent political broadcasts in candidate elections cannot be limited under the First Amendment. The 5–4 decision, in favor of Citizens United, resulted from a dispute over whether the non-profit corporation Citizens United could air a film critical of Hillary Clinton, and whether the group could advertise the film in broadcast ads featuring Clinton's image, in apparent violation of the 2002 Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act, commonly known as the McCain–Feingold Act.[2]
Legal scholars think not.
“I think it’s probably an understatement to say it’s extremely unlikely the House of Representatives will do anything about this,” said University of North Carolina law professor Michael J. Gerhardt, to the HuffPo. “[I]n this case, it could just be called a question of judgment. It appears to me that a judge, and in this case, the chief justice of the United States, has the independence to exercise his judgment.”
The Atlantic writes: Will anti-Sharia law initiatives be in future election cycles what anti-gay marriage initiatives were before? That is, a cultural wedge issue the GOP uses to ensure that hard-core conservatives enthusiastically flock to the polls?
If so, then Oklahoma is the proverbial canary in the coal mine for this type of initiative. One of 11 ballot initiatives in the state this November, State Question 755, better known as the "Save Our State" constitutional amendment, would prevent courts from using international or Sharia law. The question made it to the ballot by passing the state Senate 41-2 and the House 82-10. In addition to potentially rallying the conservative base to the polls, the initiative, which bans something that is nearly impossible statutorily, is worth watching because the GOP may employ it in swing states two years down the line. http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2010/10/oklahomas-preemptive-strike-against-sharia-law/65081/

Obama can "take his endorsement and shove it," declared Democrat Frank Caprio, battling Republican-turned-independent Lincoln Chafee in a gubernatorial race rated tight in the polls. Chafee endorsed Obama during the 2008 campaign for the White House. [ He added that now Obama is coming to Rhode Island and treating it as his ATM machine...]
He said Republicans had driven the economy into a ditch and then stood by and criticized while Democrats pulled it out. Now that progress has been made, he said, "we can't have special interests sitting shotgun [Is he talking about his special interests - unions and ACORN?]. We gotta have middle class families up in front. We don't mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back." [Wow! Townhall reveals: Last week, National Public Radio CEO Vivian Schiller took a break from her crusade for a government takeover of the media to swat a fly. With now-former NPR analyst Juan Williams suitably splattered across the evening news after politically incorrect comments he made on Fox News, Schiller can return to her real passion – the creation of a national network to ensure that in the future, you get your news from the government in general and NPR in particular.
Schiller could barely contain her rage at Fox News and at Williams last week, saying he should discuss his fear of boarding a plane with Muslim passengers with “his psychiatrist.” Those who understand what is at stake saw the Williams/Schiller dust up for what it really was – a declaration of war by one of the most powerful women in journalism against for-profit, non-liberal media. If Schiller and her liberal friends have their way, Fox and its viewers will pay the bill for her new government news network.
As Schiller explained in a speech to the NPR board of directors in 2009, it is public radio’s responsibility to fill the gap in journalism left by dying local television stations and newspapers. http://townhall.com/columnists/TaraServatius/2010/10/25/npr_ceo_vivian_schiller_key_architect_of_fcc_govt_takeover_of_the_news/page/full/

Black education levels were catching up fast. The middle-class black community -- though still separate -- was as strong as or stronger than its white counterpart. Out-of-wedlock pregnancies in the black community were just a sliver above the tiny percentages in the white community. Well, it took less than a decade of LBJ's diabolical plan to see all that destroyed, and presto! The devil's party had got the majority of blacks right back on the plantation, held firmly in place there with the invisible shackles of addiction to handouts.

Even worse, its voter drive is being run by Amy Busefink, an ACORN employee under indictment in Nevada for violating election laws. I mean, it says on the Huffington Post, the Supreme Court has done a tremendous disservice to the United States of America. They have done more to undermine our democracy with their Citizens United decision than all of the Republican operatives in the world in this campaign. They’ve opened the floodgates, and personally, I’m investigating articles of impeachment against Justice Roberts for perjuring during his Senate hearings, where he said he wouldn’t be a judicial activist, and he wouldn’t overturn precedents.According to the WSJ: So, is the Chief on the hot seat?

The federal housing ghettos promptly took the place of the old slave quarters, where no white man dared to tread -- not even police officers. The welfare office and the food stamp office became the new slave master's rations queue. ACORN took the place of the overseer. And the most diabolical part of all was that the new system was even better than Jim Crow at producing more numbers of dependent offspring. That's right. The black nuclear family that had thrived under Jim Crow, with just a tiny percentage of illegitimate births, suddenly disintegrated under LBJ's diabolical plot to give more in handouts for the more dependent kids a black (slave) could produce. And voilĂ . The black community now keeps itself voluntarily in slavery with a never-ending explosion of out-of-wedlock births. To top that off, Democrat devils ushered in control of the public schools by teachers' unions. They promptly destroyed public education in America, insuring that the black ghetto (slave quarters) will go on and on and on. http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/10/the_big_blue_d_stands_for_devi.html

[Acting as our healer, our great come-together, post racial President, Barack Obama, the President of all we Americans], in a radio interview that aired on Univision on Monday, sought to assure Hispanics that he would push an immigration overhaul after the midterm elections, despite fierce Republican opposition.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Referring specifically to Republicans such as Senator John McCain, who are stressing border security and supporting strict immigration laws like Arizona’s anti-illegal immigration measure, Mr. Obama said, “Those aren’t the kinds of folks who represent our core American values.” [So now we conservatives are the enemy, for our very own President has declared us so, while we are waging our war against terrorism, calling it just an overseas contingency operation. $200 Billion in Politcal Ads, Joe?; Our Corrupt Justice Department; Our Trip to India; Health Care Law Undercuts Employer Plans; Canada Free Press on Obama; Buying American Indian Votes; and Real Unemployment Figures
The NYT blogs: Conservative groups have not dumped $200 billion in political ads on the heads of Democratic candidates.
It evidently just feels that way to the White House.
In an interview with Al Hunt of Bloomberg News scheduled to air tonight, Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. commented on the need for disclosure when corporate interests contribute to political groups.
“I was amazed at the amount of money, this $200 billion of money that is — where there’s no accountability,” he said. “When I say accountability, we don’t know where it’s coming from. There’s no disclosure, so the folks watching the ad can’t make a judgment based upon motive when you say it’s paid for by so-and-so.”
Mr. Biden clearly meant “million” with an “M,” not “billion” with a “B.”
But his tongue slipped again a moment later. “So it really – I’ve never seen this before, so the only caveat I’d put in terms of the House is how much impact this $200 billion are going to mean.” [Is he purposely lying to scare his democrat base, or does he really not understand the difference between millions and billions? Breitbart writes: Congratulations to the editors at the Washington Post. Seventeen months after the Eric Holder Justice Department dismissed a slam-dunk case against the New Black Panther Party for voter intimidation, the Post gets around to printing a thorough vetting of the dismissal. The story is slated for Saturday’s print edition. While other media like Breitbart/The Bigs, Fox News, the Washington Times, the Weekly Standard, Pittsburgh Tribune Review, Investors Business Daily, Pajamas Media, and Drudge have had dozens of stories on the corrupt New Black Panther dismissal, the Washington Post at last is in the game.
But overall, the story is very bad news for Eric Holder. It debunks many of the myths spun by the administration. Inside DOJ sources describe deep hostility to protecting whites at Justice. DOJ sources say panther prosecutor Christian Adams never allowed his conservative views to influence his work, contradicting administration spin. And perhaps most damning of all to Holder, sources defending the administration defend the idea that whites aren’t protected by the Civil Rights laws. The latter is the blockbuster news in the Post piece.
The Post also shatters the false administration spin that only low level career lawyers had a fight among themselves: “After the Obama administration took over, high-level political appointees relayed their thoughts on the case in a stream of internal e-mails in the days leading to the dismissal.” The administration told Congress and the public a lie for over a year, and now the Washington Post even knows. http://biggovernment.com/abreitbart/2010/10/22/washington-post-blockbuster-confirms-worst-fears-about-holder-justice-dept-race-policies/

The Economic Times of India writes: To ensure fool-proof security, the President’s team has booked the entire the Taj Mahal Hotel, including 570 rooms, all banquets and restaurants. Since his security contingent and staff will comprise a huge number, 125 rooms at Taj President have also been booked, apart from 80 to 90 rooms each in Grand Hyatt and The Oberoi hotels. The NCPA, where the President is expected to meet representatives from the business community, has also been entirely booked.
The officer said, “Obama’s contingent is huge. There are two jumbo jets coming along with Air Force One, which will be flanked by security jets. There will be 30 to 40 secret service agents, who will arrive before him. The President’s convoy has 45 cars, including the Lincoln Continental in which the President travels.”
Since Obama will stay in a hotel that is on sea front, elaborate coastal security arrangements have been made by the US Navy in consonance with the Indian Navy and the Coast Guard. “There will be US naval ships, along with Indian vessels , patrolling the sea till about 330-km from the shore. This is to negate the possibility of a missile being fired from a distance,” the officer said.
The President will be accompanied by his chefs, not because he would not like to savour Indian cuisine, but to ensure his food is not spiked. But last week a leading manufacturer told workers their costs will jump partly because of the law. Also, a Democratic governor laid out a scheme for employers to get out of health care by shifting workers into taxpayer-subsidized insurance markets that open in 2014.
While it's too early to proclaim the demise of job-based coverage, corporate number crunchers are looking at options that could lead to major changes. [You don't say! What was Barack’s biggest mistake? Laying all his chips on the table to bet on Liberalism. He was either too untutored to know socialism always fails; too cagey in craftily sabotaging Capitalism; not mentally fit for the task, or too indifferent to care. Take your pick. Since all of Oabama’s possible strategies would still lead to utter failure, it doesn’t much matter. He’s an anti-Reagan in almost every way possible to imagine.
Barack willed himself onto the shipwreck rocks, perhaps goaded by self-loathing animated by the secret knowledge he lacks any training or inclination for leadership. But wouldn’t any Marxist worth his salt agree Capitalism must be torn down and burnt to cinders before communism can rise on its ash? http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/29134

The Democrats’ midterm strategy is to turn out its base. For Herseth Sandlin, American Indians are the new black. South Dakota’s newspaper The Argus Leader notes: “Strong Native American turnout has been the difference in statewide races in past years, and it could be critical in upcoming races. The emergence of early voting has only intensified efforts to get out the vote in Indian Country.”
Coincidentally, the Obama administration negotiated a $760 million settlement for American Indians who claim they were discriminated against by the USDA, just in time for the election.
Given Obama’s months-long midterm appeal to blacks, Hispanics, feminists, and young voters – and Eric Holder’s use of the Justice Department to steer money to favored Democratic groups – the settlement looks like another corrupt ploy to turn out left-wing voters on election day.
As events on the ground show, bribery seems to be the Democrats’ statewide strategy.

Big Government reports: In a report sure to cause consternation at the White House and in the offices of the Democratic Leadership in Congress, “60 Minutes” provided an in-depth report on the realities of the unemployment situation in America today. (Snip for video) When you take into account the underemployed as well as the unemployed, the national rate hits 17% and California a staggering 22%. To put a face on the realities of the underemployed in America under Obamanomincs, reporter Scott Pelley spoke with a fiber-optics engineering manager who has been looking for work for over a year.
According to the report, 1/3 of the unemployed have been out of work for over a year. This hasn’t happenned since the Great Depression.
Airing one week before the mid-term elections, this report explains better than anything, exactly what is at stake for our country on November 2.

Oh my gosh - he's first in line to be President!]- http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/10/22/200-billion-in-ads-mr-biden-thats-real-money/?ref=politics

The new health care law wasn't supposed to undercut employer plans that have provided most people in the U.S. with coverage for generations.
In my view this Administration knew this to be true and hoped for it all along, simply failed to listen to reason from health care providers, or are stupid enough to think this wouldn't happen.] http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/business/7261682.html

Give Obama a Pat on the Back—of Butter—He’s Toast By Kelly O'Connell
Canada Free Press: Obama has utterly failed. He launched an entire presidency upon a tissue of lies, excuses, ignorance and a prickly cult of self-worship. But this proved so unstable it gave way beneath him mere weeks into his tenure. Now he free-falls into oblivion. Future historians might craft “theories”—obscuring his incompetence, blaming it onto outside forces or resolute foes. But those who witnessed his malfeasance know better.

My Letter To The Editor ....
We’ve witnessed the violent riots in Paris by those who protest raising retirement age from 60 to 62; we’ve heard Germany declare that multiculturalism is a failure; we watch Europe moving away from their socialist agenda because they are bankrupt. And yet our government is hurrying toward a progressive agenda which embraces ever more government spending and interference in our lives.
Tea Party activists are angry but peaceful - not the radical, racist, violent citizens they are made out to be. They decry government care from cradle to grave, embracing the chance to make the American dream come true for themselves. This is a pivotal election, and this energized group wants their government to stop spending, to revere the Constitution, and to stop apologizing for America to governments all around the world. They know capitalism is the greatest creator of wealth the world has ever seen, and they want government to get out of the way of that wealth creation. They ask themselves, “If this administration has done so many things in two years which are directly against the will of the people, just what is it that they WON’T do?”
Barack Obama once said “We are the people we have been waiting for!”, arrogantly adding, “This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal”. Some of us believe it is time to heal from the radical agenda of the last two years. By voting Republican, we can prevent a Cap and Tax bill, ameliorate the Health Care law, keep the Bush tax cuts, and prevent the government take-over of more American institutions. Our grandchildren are counting on us! If we can make our voices heard through our November 2 vote, perhaps we too will be one of America’s “greatest generations.”

After all, what industry wouldn't love a law that forces Americans to buy its product or face fines at the hands of the Internal Revenue Service? Of course, Big Hospitals want new payment systems where all the money to all providers must flow through them. Of course, AARP and big corporations want millions of new unwilling and perhaps unwitting customers as government reduces choices for American families. Unfortunately for them - but fortunately for everyone else - the election results and the next Congress will quite possibly render that mandate a pipe dream.
The Health Care Freedom Act movement is a potent remedy to this condition. Parliament authorities said this will be the first time that such a facility will be arranged in the Central Hall.

All of these countries -- and many more -- are going through painful retrenchments because they spent too much money, made too many promises and expected too little from their own citizens. The era of European austerity is upon us, because the Europeans -- or at least those in charge -- understand the mess they've made of their economies.
In broad terms, all of the policies Obama and the Democrats have pushed are the sorts of policies the British, the French and other Europeans had for years, even decades.
As far as I am aware, no one has asked President Obama a simple question: If your philosophy is so great, how come the countries that have embraced it for generations are so much poorer than us?
Nor have they asked: If guaranteed health care for everyone will make us so much more "competitive," how come we've been doing so much better than our "competitors" who already have socialized medicine, high tax rates and lavish pensions?
Nor has the president been queried about the incongruity of saying his policies have laid a "new foundation" for economic growth and job creation when the countries he's trying to emulate are trying to dismantle the very same foundations in order to survive. http://townhall.com/columnists/JonahGoldberg/2010/10/22/fools_rush_in_where_europe_rushes_out

My Response to Robert Reich
Here is some of what Robert Reich wrote in his Huffington Post column: The Perfect Storm That Threatens American Democracy: (My responses are in blue italics...)
"First, income in America is now more concentrated in fewer hands than it's been in 80 years. Almost a quarter of total income, [actually, 20%] generated in the United States is going to the top 1 percent of Americans. [And 38% of the total taxes paid by Americans is paid by that same 1%. The top 5 percent earned 34.7 percent of the nation's adjusted gross income, but paid approximately 58.7 percent of federal individual income taxes. And the top 50% of wage earners paid a whopping 97.3% of the total taxes paid! It's a funny thing, those statistics.....]
Reich continues, "Which gets us to the second part of the perfect storm. A relatively few Americans are buying our democracy as never before. And they're doing it completely in secret.
"Hundreds of millions of dollars are pouring into advertisements for and against candidates -- without a trace of where the dollars are coming from. They're laundered through a handful of groups. Fred Maleck, whom you may remember as deputy director of Richard Nixon's notorious Committee to Reelect the President (dubbed Creep in the Watergate scandal), is running one of them. Republican operative Karl Rove runs another. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a third."
Earth to Robert - ever hear of George Soros and his myriad of supported progressive groups and their donations, as well as those from foreigners? Consider the following history from Google sites:
Political Campaign Contributions by George Soros (1999 to Present) - $3,480,776 DEMOCRAT: 99.83% REPUBLICAN: 0.17% The following is in the words of newspaper articles:
Their analysis of the 2008 presidential campaign found that University of California employees were Obama's top donor, giving a collective $1.6 million. That system is run by the state of California, and hence is a public employer. No. 2 was Goldman Sachs. Goldman employees gave Obama $994,795.
Has he never heard of Moveon.org? What about Moveon's Michael Moore, who personally funded movies as campaign ads: Capitalism and Sicko, at the same time that the FEC disallowed Citizens United from airing the film Hillary: the Movie on the grounds that it violated existing campaign finance laws by expressly advocating for Clinton’s defeat.
"The Supreme Court's Citizens United vs. the Federal Election Commission made it possible for Republican danger this election cycle, according to Reich.. The Federal Election Commission says only 32 percent of groups paying for election ads are disclosing the names of their donors. By comparison, in the 2006 midterm, 97 percent disclosed; in 2008, almost half disclosed." Oops - it was Obama who would not disclose his donors, and many believe he got lots of foreigner donations....
Consider this from the newspapers at the time:
In 1996, Al “Global Warming Farce” Gore got his fingers caught in the Chinese and Korean fortune cookie jar. As reported in the Washington Post:
“The Federal Election Commission disclosed yesterday it has imposed a record-setting $719,000 in fines against participants in the 1996 Democratic Party fundraising scandals involving contributions from China, Korea and other foreign sources.
“The FEC documents describe Democratic fundraisers who set specific prices for foreign nationals to make illegal campaign contributions in return for meetings with then-President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore. A Democratic finance vice chair, for example, said organizers would have to contribute $100,000 in return for Gore's appearance at a Buddhist temple in Los Angeles.
“Those penalized included the Democratic National Committee, the Clinton-Gore campaign, the Buddhist temple and nearly two dozen people and corporations acting as conduits for illegal contributions.” A favorite ploy for Democrats is to falsely accuse Republicans of doing what THEY are doing or have done.....
"Here's the third part of the perfect storm [says Reich]. Most Americans are in trouble. Their jobs, incomes, savings, and even homes are on the line. They need a government that's working for them, not for the privileged and the powerful." Never mind that it is the policies of this Administration which both caused quite a bit of the problem, and it's this Administration which is spending us into oblivion while failing to inspire businesses to hire.......
"Yet their state and local taxes are rising. And their services are being cut. Teachers and firefighters are being laid off. The roads and bridges they count on are crumbling, pipelines are leaking, schools are dilapidated, and public libraries are being shut." Let's see..... haven't we for decades paid high gasoline taxes, perhaps 44cents per gallon, which, if managed well, were supposed to pay for infrastructure? Aren't our higher and higher school taxes there to pay for upkeep of the schools, teachers, etc.? What mismanagement and social agendas are keeping this from working? Aren't state taxes going to increase because in order to "pay" for Obamacare, more people are to be put on Medicaid, which transfers the onus of payment onto state budgets? Are taxes going up in some states because citizens are moving out and away in order to avoid those states which already overtax?
"It won't limit the tax deductions of the very rich, which include interest payments on multimillion dollar mortgages. (Yet Wall Street refuses to allow homeowners who can't meet mortgage payments to include their primary residence in personal bankruptcy.)" What does Wall Street have to do with what the government decrees in a bankruptcy? This ability of "rich" people to deduct interest on home mortgages is ameliorated by the fact that the higher one's income goes, the more deductions such as this, as well as property taxes, is reduced just because they make so much income. More and more tax payers are getting fewer and fewer deductions against their income. Add that to the tax burden of the rich.
It's yet another way of taxing high earners in a stealth way - such as taxing them for Medicare to the last dollar they earn, while those making less pay up to a certain dollar amount of income. If government had not insisted that mortgage companies and banks give loans to those who could never hope to be able to afford it, sometimes with no down payment, perhaps we would not have had a mortgage crisis and consequent bankruptcies.
"We're losing our democracy to a different system. It's called plutocracy." Well, some call would call what we are moving toward is Socialism........a "fundamentally changed" America, just as Obama pledged.

Obama and AIDS Funding; More Taxes; Boeing Suffering Under Obamacare; A Democrat Who Became a Republican; Disparity in Ownership and Equity
[Have you heard the charge Obama made against Republicans while speaking in October at a rally for Democrat MA Governor Duval Patrick? He said that if Republicans win this election, they will "cut AIDS funding in America - and all across the world." The crowd crazily cheered. WHAT? That is just a lie, and the Bush Administration raised funding for AIDS so much that Africans came to love him for his efforts there. This may be said to show Obama's desperation, but it also shows a character which boldly speaks against the truth.] http://www.streetinsider.com/Press+Releases/Obama+Defends+Anemic+AIDS+Funding,+While+Activists+Demand+More,+Says+AHF/5996140.html

Dennis Prager writes: After I became a Republican in the early 1990s -- in a recent column, I explained how emotionally difficult it is for a Democrat to vote Republican, let alone become one -- I concluded that I had left the dangerous party and joined the stupid party.
Of course, as I often noted on my radio show, I prefer the foolish to the destructive. But, still, being a Republican engendered little pride.
That all changed in the past year. President Obama and his left-wing party have given his country three enormous gifts:
First, they created a level of political/moral clarity that it has not had in this baby boomer's lifetime.
Second, they induced a consequent eruption of conservative activism -- i.e., activism on behalf of limited government -- that may be greater than at any time since the founding of the country.
And third, they are producing a Republican Party that actually stands for something other than being an alternative to the Democratic Party. http://townhall.com/columnists/DennisPrager/2010/10/19/proud_to_be_a_republican/page/full/

Here is Nancy Pelosi's recent declaration, from Gateway Pundit: “We’re talking about addressing the disparity of income where the wealthy people continue to get wealthier and some other people are falling out of the middle class when we want to bring many more people into the middle class. But that disparity is not just about wages alone, that disparity is about ownership and equity. It’s all about fairness in our country,” [Never mind that the rich may be getting richer because they work 16 hour days, risk their monies to start new businesses or to hire more employees - that is still UNFAIR to those who don't or won't work hard, get educated, stop doing drugs long enough to work, or have grown up in a family tradition of living off government's largess while complaining about those who don't. This is another way to state Obama's desire for "income distribution", but now she adds that we all need to own the same value of investments, things, homes, etc. It will never stop while these people remain in office. Go! Vote! And take someone with you who doesn't usually vote if you can! http://gatewaypundit.firstthings.com/2010/10/socialist-pelosi-need-to-address-fairness-of-ownership-and-equity-in-the-us-video/

From Yahoo News comes this: Aerospace giant Boeing is joining the list of companies that say the new health care law could have a potential downside for their workers.
In a letter mailed to employees late last week, the company cited the overhaul as part of the reason it is asking some 90,000 nonunion workers to pay significantly more for their health plan next year. A copy of the letter was obtained Monday by The Associated Press. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101018/ap_on_bi_ge/us_health_costs_boeing

Quotes from Obama Commentary;Obama - Messiah to Con Man; Germany's Ann Merkel Declares Multi-culturalism to Be Failure; Signs Greeting Obama in Chicago
A good comment on my blog which contained some quotes from Barack Obama's books encouraged me to announce that all my quotes from "Dreams of my Father" are about Obama coming to terms with race in America, as perhaps I should have pointed out. The point I was making, however, was that Barack Obama has consistently identified with only his black heritage, not his white. This fact, perhaps, explains at least partially why his Justice Dept. only wishes to prosecute whites who discriminate against blacks, while purposely dropping investigations into black on white crimes - such as the infamous Black Panther case which was recently dropped. This case speaks directly to fair elections, as does the case of two democrat states which have failed to get election ballots to our overseas military in time for their votes to be counted. I believe our President is supposed to defend our Constitution for ALL Americans, not those of his choosing.
My quote on Obama standing with Muslins garnered this comment: "And that one from "Audacity of Hope"? Funny how you cut out everything leading up to it, and twisted it a little, isn't it?" Fair enough - here is the rest.......
They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.
OK. Actually our country fought a bloody war to get rid of slavery, which the Democrats in the South defended. The original reason that our country gave voting rights to those born in our county was not to encourage illegals to sneak in and have babies. It is there to ensure that the children of the recently freed slaves have a full right to American citizenship. As to Muslims in America, I haven't really heard of any groups who are trying to deport all Muslims from America, nor anyone defending putting them in internment camps, have you? He said those words because he seems to believe that a totally racist America (as still preached about by his minister the Reverend Jeremiah Wright) would not defend Muslims. I believe him to be wrong on that supposition. And as non-racist as I am against Muslims - I don't believe there should be a stated directive to NASA to make Muslims feel better about their contributions to world art, science and education. Just saying......
One more point about my news service. Every American is subjected to the slant of the left in mainstream media. In order to get the information which does not promote their left agenda out to Americans, we must either take the time I take to find it, or we must read blogs on the right, for that info is not generally available to those who get their news from ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC - nor from the major newspapers in large democrat cities.

American Thinker writes: The descent of Barack Obama's image from messiah to con man is accelerating, to the point where even the New York Times is onto the game. Peter Baker, whose Sunday Times interview with the president has already made headlines (Golly gee, who knew that there was no such thing as a shovel ready job?) calls out a presidential fabrication:
WASHINGTON - In speech after speech lately, President Obama has vowed to oppose a Republican proposal "to cut education by 20 percent," a reduction that would "eliminate 200,000 children from Head Start programs" and "reduce financial aid for eight million college students." Except that strictly speaking, the Republicans have made no such proposal.... http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2010/10/obama_just_making_it_up.html

This is from an e-mail I received. I'm sure our newspaper editor won't let me report this truth either. Photos taken in Chicago on Thursday on the arrival of President Obama.

The BBC reports: The German Chancellor, Angela Merkel: "lmmigrants should learn to speak German"
Attempts to build a multicultural society in Germany have "utterly failed", Chancellor Angela Merkel says.
She said the so-called "multikulti" concept - where people would "live side-by-side" happily - did not work, and immigrants needed to do more to integrate - including learning German. The comments come amid rising anti-immigration feeling in Germany. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-11559451
