Newt.org reports: [Newt's] 21st Century Contract with America will be much larger than the original, and will consist of four parts.
  1. A set of legislative proposals to shift America back to job creation, prosperity, freedom, and safety.
  2. A “First Day” project of Executive Orders to be signed on inauguration day to immediately transform the way the executive branch works.
  3. A training program for the transition teams and the appointees who will lead the shift back to Constitutional, limited government
  4. A system of citizen involvement to help us sustain grassroots support for change and help implement the change through 2021  [Newt has some exciting ideas for his first days and months in office, if he should win.  I believe him to be one of the most brilliant thinkers in Washington.  He listed some of his agenda in a radio interview.  He was concise, clear, conservative and thought-provoking.  Now - about that ad with Nancy Pelosi (on a park bench) discussing manmade global warming....] http://www.newt.org/21st-century-contract-america

Fox News reports: The Obama administration is escalating its crackdown on tough immigration laws, with lawyers reviewing four new state statutes to determine whether the federal government will take the extraordinary step of challenging the measures in court.

Justice Department lawyers have sued Arizona and Alabama, where a federal judge on Wednesday allowed key parts of that state’s immigration law to take effect but blocked other provisions. Federal lawyers are talking to Utah officials about a third possible lawsuit and are considering legal challenges in Georgia, Indiana and South Carolina, according to court documents and government officials.
The level of federal intervention is highly unusual, legal experts said, especially because civil rights groups already have sued most of those states. Typically, the government files briefs or seeks to intervene in other lawsuits filed against state statutes.

The Ulsterman Report reports: A just published report by the LA Times has revealed a cache of weapons that were part of the deadly Obama administration-sponsored Fast and Furious Gunrunning program has been uncovered in El Paso Texas.  Some 40 high powered AK-47 style guns were involved.  According to the Times report, these weapons had gone missing since 2010. http://theulstermanreport.com/2011/09/29/fast-and-furious-weapons-stash-found-in-el-paso/

Fox News reports: The next three months in Iraq will look like a veritable fire sale, as 45,000 U.S. forces prepare to leave by the Dec. 31 deadline.
Rather than ship home valuable military hardware, incurring excessive shipping costs, the Pentagon is simply going to leave millions of pieces of equipment behind, including everything from vehicles and body armor to trailers and air conditioners.
When all is said and done, Pentagon planners estimate 3.47 million pieces of equipment worth $313 million will be handed over to the Iraqi government, which still has not asked U.S. forces to stay beyond the December deadline.

The Blaze reports: One Iraqi immigrant living in St. Louis, Missouri might have learned the hard way what happens to Muslims who publicly support Israel and the Jewish people, when he allegedly suffered a heinous attack in August — where, in addition to being stabbed and held at gunpoint, assailants carved a Star of David into his back. [I ask - where is the media in covering this attack on a "good" Muslim?  And where is our President, who continually talks about how Americans are attacking Muslims in America, when a Muslim attacks a Muslim who supports Jews?] http://www.theblaze.com/stories/iraqi-poet-in-st-louis-allegedly-has-star-of-david-carved-into-his-back/

Redstate writes: The House Committee on Appropriations issued a press release regarding its Draft Fiscal Year 2012 Labor, Health and Human Services Funding Bill.
Within the text of the release, there are some specific union-payback items that the Committee knows are harmful to the creation of jobs and are, as a result, taking an ax to.
If the appropriations bill is passed, with their oxygen supply cut off, both of the unions’ main weapons in their war on job creators—the Department of Labor and the NLRB—would be significantly curtailed. http://www.redstate.com/laborunionreport/2011/09/29/house-committee-takes-an-axe-to-job-killing-union-measures/

American Thinker opines: The Obama Media reports Van Jones has planned an October revolution calling it an "American Autumn." Comparing his call to arms to the Arab Spring, Jones told Lawrence O'Donnell of MSNBC "hold onto your hats. We're gonna have an October offensive to take back the American Dream and to rescue America's middle class."
Jones and MoveOn.org organized a conference for October 3 - 5 at the Washington Hilton on Connecticut Avenue "to save the American Dream." Headliners on the Awards Gala list Drummond Pike of the Tides Foundation, and Cecile Richards of Planned Parenthood of America.
Beginning last June, Jones started ramping up his latest project aimed against the Tea Party and in true modern "professional revolutionary" fashion he organized from his desktop. .
Back in the 1990's Jones was the leader and founder of the radical communist organization Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM). STORM disbanded in 2003, and by 2007 Jones repackaged himself when he joined the green movement. Looking more respectable, but still Marxist he went on to become Obama's Green Jobs Czar until he resigned because people like Glenn Beck exposed him as a communist.
On STORM's manifesto:
"We agreed with Lenin's analysis of the state and the party," read STORM's manifesto. "And we found inspiration in the revolutionary strategies developed by Third World revolutionaries like Mao Zedong and Amilcar Cabral."  http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2011/10/the_obama_media_helps_launch_van_jones_revolution.html

Expose Obama reports: During the half-year campaign by rebels to drive Muammar Gaddafi from power,U.S. and NATO officials downplayed fears that al Qaeda or other militants would infiltrate anti-Gaddafi forces or take advantage of disorder to establish footholds in Libya.
Since then, however, the assessment of top experts inside the U.S. government has sharpened.
Former CIA asset and Obama adviser Bruce Riedel summarizes,“There is a great deal of concern that the jihadi cadre now are going to be exporting their ideas and weapons toward the east and west.”
This author reported the cause of their alarm a month ago. The National Transitional Council (NTC),the body the United States now exclusively recognizes as the official government of Libya, elected Abdel Hakim Belhaj commander of the Tripoli Military Council in late August. Belhaj is the co-founder of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG),which the State Department designated a foreign terrorist organization in December 2004. The New York Times relates that LIFG members received “combat experience in Iraq or Afghanistan” —fighting the United States. Belhaj, who met Osama bin Laden twice, now commands 8,000 troops,Libya’s largest fighting force. http://www.exposeobama.com/2011/09/30/obamas-analysts-oops-we-put-muslim-radicals-in-charge-of-libya/

ABC News reports: Top executives at Solyndra have refused to tell U.S. officials whether they received executive bonuses after the company began to fail, and they have frustrated bankruptcy proceedings by refusing to answer questions about the solar firm's sudden and dramatic shutdown, according to papers filed by Justice Department lawyers late Friday.

CBS News reports: Late Friday, the White House turned over new documents in the Congressional investigation into the ATF "Fast and Furious" gunwalking scandal. The documents show extensive communications between then-ATF Special Agent in Charge of the Phoenix office Bill Newell - who led Fast and Furious - and then-White House National Security Staffer Kevin O'Reilly. Emails indicate the two also spoke on the phone. Such detailed, direct communications between a local ATF manager in Phoenix and a White House national security staffer has raised interest among Congressional investigators looking into Fast and Furious. Newell has said he and O'Reilly are long time friends. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-31727_162-20114184-10391695.html

Townhall writes: Multiple sources, including sources from ATF, DOJ  and Congressional offices have said there is a white paper circulating within the Department of Justice, outlining the essential elimination of ATF. . Current duties of ATF, including the enforcement of explosives and gun laws, would be transferred to other agencies, possibly the FBI and the DEA.
Sounds great right? Eliminating ATF? But there is more to this story. Remember, low level ATF field agents, like ATF whistleblower John Dodson, were uncomfortable conducting Operation Fast and Furious from the beginning, but were told by high level officials within ATF that if they had a problem with the operation, they could find a job elsewhere.
“Allowing loads of weapons that we knew to be destined for criminals, this was the plan. It was so mandated,” ATF Whistleblower John Dodson said in testimony on Capitol Hill on June 15, 2011.
In fact, not only were the ATF agents forced to carry out the operation, they were told to go against what they had been taught in training.

Weazel Zippers reports: “We believe in a big America, a tolerant America, a just America, an equal America,” Obama told the Human Rights Campaign’s annual dinner in Washington, where he advocated a society where people are respected, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
“We don’t believe in a small America. We don’t believe in the kind of smallness that believes that a stage full of political leaders — one of whom could end up being president of the United States — being silent when an American is booed,” Obama said, referring to the jeers that came from the crowd at Republican presidential debate last month after a gay soldier asked a question from Iraq.
“If you want to be commander-in-chief, you have to start by standing up for the men and women who wear the uniform even when it’s not politically convenient,” Obama said, echoing similar remarks he made earlier this week at a West Coast fundraiser. [Just asking - did anyone hear our divider-in-chief decry death threats and slander toward Tea Party members?] http://weaselzippers.us/2011/10/01/obama-says-gop-candidates-represent-small-america/

Fox News reports: A controversial U.N. proposed treaty aimed at regulating guns worldwide has been shrouded by confusion and misinformation.
Known informally as the 'Small Arms Treaty,' its detractors have charged the proposed agreement with secretly trying to take guns out of the hands of Americans and circumventing the 2nd Amendment.
While that is unlikely, a working draft proposal obtained by FoxNews.com contains language that some gun advocates say could have a real impact on American gun makers.
Last month a U.N. committee met in New York and signed off on several provisions, including the creation of a new U.N. agency to regulate international weapon sales, and require countries that host firearms manufacturers to set up a compensation fund for victims of gun violence worldwide.
[Just  asking - will there be compensation funds for those killed by shovels, or axes, or bare hands, or pushing off buildings, or just any other kind of killing?]

The New York Post writes: Hardly a week passes now without some revelation about the Obama administration’s complicity in what may yet turn out to be one of the worst and most lethal scandals in American history: Operation Fast and Furious.
In a classic Friday document dump -- a sure sign of an administration with something to hide -- the feds released to congressional investigators a month’s worth of e-mail correspondence in the summer of 2010 between Bill Newell, then head ATF agent in Phoenix, and his friend Kevin O’Reilly, a former White House national-security staffer for North American affairs.
What do you know? Among the e-mails was a photograph of a powerful Barrett .50-caliber rifle that had been illegally purchased in Tucson and recovered in Sonora, Mexico, raising the possibility of a second “gunwalking” program, this one called “Wide Receiver.”
Like Fast and Furious, the ATF-supervised scheme that saw thousands of weapons “walk” across the Mexican border for reasons no one in the Justice Department has yet satisfactorily explained, Wide Receiver was apparently a joint operation that also included the Drug Enforcement Administration, the FBI, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the IRS and the US Attorney’s office.
It’s likely there have been others, in such states as Florida and Indiana.
