Truth, Lies and Distortions

Is that Robert Gibbs, the porcupine, lurking in the grass, ready to throw his quills at protesters?

  • Because it is so vital to know the truth, and I am finding that none of my friends where I live seem to have taken an interest in actually finding the truth, I am sharing an email from the Republican National Committee:

  • Rhetoric: President Obama Promises Americans Can Keep Their Current Health Care Coverage. "You know, the interesting thing is we've actually been very clear on what we want. I've said I want to make sure if you have health care you are going to keep it..." (PBS's "The Newshour With Jim Lehrer," 7/20/09)
    • FACT: Analysis Shows Over 88 Million People To Lose Current Insurance Under Government Health Care Takeover. "Under current law, there will be about 158.1 million people who are covered under an employer plan as workers, dependents or early retirees in 2011. If the act were fully implemented in that year, about 88.1 million workers would shift from private employer insurance to the public plan." (John Shelis, Vice President, Lewin Group, "Analysis Of The July 15 Draft Of The American Affordable Health Choices Act Of 2009," 7/17/09)
    • FACT: Mayo Clinic Says Government-Run Health Care Will Force Doctors To Drop Patients. '[L]awmakers are on track to approve across-the-board federal payment reductions of $155 billion over 10 years for hospitals ... Mayo and similar health systems object to the sweeping cuts. 'Across-the-board cuts will be harmful to everyone and we think it is particularly bad to penalize the high-value organizations,' said Jeff Korsmo, executive director of the Mayo Clinic Health Policy Center. 'We will have to violate our values in order to stay in business and reduce our access to government patients.'" (Phil Galewitz, "'Model' Health Systems Press Case For Medicare Fix In Reform," Kaiser Health News, 7/20/09)
    • [I, Karen, will reiterate here that when one loses his job and must get new insurance, he MUST take the government plan once the government plan has begun.]
  • Rhetoric: President Obama Promises No Additional Taxes On Middle Class. "What I've said is, and I have stuck to this point, I don't want to see additional tax burdens on people making $250,000 a year or less." (NBC's "Today Show," 7/21/09)
    • FACT: Democrats' Plan Imposes 2.5% Tax On Uninsured Individuals. "The penalty assessed on people who would be subject to the mandate but did not obtain insurance would equal 2.5 percent of the difference between their adjusted gross income (modified to include tax-exempt interest and certain other sources of income) and the tax filing threshold ..." (Douglas W. Elmendorf, "Preliminary Analysis Of The Insurance Coverage Specifications Provided By The House Tri-Committee Group," Letter To Chairman Rangel, 7/17/09)
    • [Here, I will add that the bill states that the taxes necessary to fund this plan will NOT be called a tax. Huh?]

Fox News contributor Major Garrett, an a Robert Gibbs press conference, asked Gibbs to explain why he is learning that some Americans are getting emails from the White House without EVER having written to the White House. He asked if the White House also seeks other information to identify those to whom they send their emails without ever having received an email from them or visited the web site. Ending the exchange, Gibbs said, "Let me go someplace else that might be constructive."

[Next time, Garrett - don't ask such a difficult question!]

Democrats Questioning Democrat Tactics

Who is that hiding behind the trees? Is it a democrat, hiding from the truth?

From Camille Paglia
, a devout Obama lover: My party was populist, attentive to the needs and wishes of those outside the power structure. And as a product of the 1960s, I thought the Democratic party was passionately committed to freedom of thought and speech. Somehow liberals have drifted into a strange servility toward big government, which they revere as a godlike foster father-mother who can dispense all bounty and magically heal all ills. The ethical collapse of the left was nowhere more evident than in the near total silence of liberal media and Web sites at the Obama administration's outrageous solicitation to private citizens to report unacceptable "casual conversations" to the White House. If Republicans had done this, there would have been an angry explosion by Democrats from coast to coast. I was stunned at the failure of liberals to see the blatant totalitarianism in this incident, which the president should have immediately denounced. His failure to do so implicates him in it."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At a John Dingell meeting a "protester" was walking around carrying a sign with a swastika. How horrifying, said Dingell! It has come to light that the man was given the sign by - now hear this- a Dingell organizer! The man was handing out pro-Obama literature. Does it look like, just maybe, Dingell and his friends are trying to marginalize we good Americans - to allow the media to position us as angry mobs? And why is the media not pointing out the busloads of union members from SEIU, and the ACORN members, etc. who are being bussed in to these meetings?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's a web ad on Craigslist: "You can work for change. Join motivated staff around the country working to make change happen. You can make great friends and money along the way. Earn $400-$600 a week." I assume this means that the 13 million emails Obama sent out to his campaign supporters is not panning out. So now WE THE PEOPLE will actually be paying for Obama's pro-government health care take-over workers, for we taxpayers continue to give many millions of dollars to ACORN and it's over 300 connected organizations, because the government continues to describe them as bi-partisan!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I can tell that even some Democrats are becoming disgusted with their party leaders when a devout Democrat such as Pat Caddell says on Fox News that (in general) his Democrat party used to be for the little guy, but is now calling them names such as un-American, angry mobs and the like. He decried the Democrats who are now ignoring our rights to free speech.

And from Maureen Dowd, , another very liberal columnist: "The postpartisan, postracial, post-Clinton-dysfunction world that Barack Obama was supposed to usher in when he hit town on his white charger, with turtle doves tweeting, has vanished. The young grass-roots army that swept Obama into office has yet to mobilize now that the fight is about something complicated rather than a charismatic hope-monger. No, they can’t? Instead of a multicultural tableau of beaming young idealists on screen, we see ugly scenes of mostly older and white malcontents, disrupting forums where others have come to actually learn something. Instead of hope, we get swastikas, death threats and T-shirts proclaiming “Proud Member of the Mob.” President Obama has proven quicksilver instincts, but not in this case. You would think that a politician schooled in community organizing and the foul balls of a presidential campaign would be ready to squash this kind of nuttiness."

[Can we not see the agenda of the left? It is to paint us as violent, rude, angry, nutty and unworthy. We must make sure our questions are asked, but not in violent ways. And we must not cave in to their desires to shut us up. Our country depends on us and our willingness to stand up and be counted, in spite of the thugs the Democrats are planting among us.]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rasmussen now reports that Obama's approval rating has fallen to 46%. And yet our President continues to say that we should stop talking. I will continue to talk, for instance when he says that the health care reform includes no new taxes. Well, do you understand the reason?! The bill itself states that any taxes collected for this bill are not to be considered to be taxes! How truthful do you think that is?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From DetroitNews.com weblog: Sen. Debbie Stabenow, Energy Leader (National Review, 08.10.09

Michigan just experienced its coldest July on record; global temperatures haven't risen in more than a decade; Great Lakes water levels have resumed their 30-year cyclical rise (contrary to a decade of media scare stories that they were drying up due to global warming), and polls show that climate change doesn't even make a list of Michigan voters' top-ten concerns.

Yet in an interview with the Detroit News Monday, Senator Debbie Stabenow (D., Mich.) - recently appointed to the Senate Energy Committee - made clear that fighting the climate crisis is her top priority.

"Climate change is very real," she confessed as she embraced cap and trade's massive tax increase on Michigan industry - at the same time claiming, against all the evidence, that it would not lead to an increase in manufacturing costs or energy prices. "Global warming creates volatility. I feel it when I'm flying. The storms are more volatile. We are paying the price in more hurricanes and tornadoes."

And there are sea monsters in Lake Michigan. I can feel them when I'm boating -(this said on the blog)

Health Care Reform's Rationing Provisions

Do you know what President Barack Obama said earlier in the speech where he is quoted as saying: "I don't want the folks who created the mess do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don't mind cleaning up after them, but don't do a lot of talking?" He actually said, "We want to make sure that we listen to other people's ideas. We're going to bring labor and business together," he said.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Congressman John Dingell has now said: "Well, the last time I had to confront something like this was when I voted for the civil rights bill and my opponent voted against it. At that time, we had a lot of Ku Klux Klan folks and white supremacists and folks in white sheets and other things running around causing trouble.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mort Zuckerman of MSNBC stated on tv recently: "you start to wonder whether in fact the word socialist is becoming a code word, whether or not socialist is becoming the new N-word for frankly for some angry upset birthers and others."

Cynthia Tucker’s guesstimate that 45-65 percent of town hall protesters are probably racist just shows how out of touch she is with main stream America, for this has not one thing to do with the skin color of anyone. It shows me that she is actually the racist.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

President Obama, without his teleprompter, actually made our case for us during a recent speech on health insurance reform by saying, "I mean, if you think about it, UPS and FedEx are doing just fine, right? No, they are. It's the post office that's always having problems." That comment provoked laughter from the audience. Exactly, Mr. President.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Susan Ferrechio
Chief Congressional Correspondent

Regarding the section of the health care reform bill pertaining to a collection of personal data for the common good, she says: "I have spent 35 years in information technology," one woman in the audience said to Arlen Specter. "I read this bill very closely. You are about to concentrate more information about more Pennsylvanians and Americans in this bill in one place in the computers of Washington that has ever occurred."

Specter elicited laughs and boos when he responded, "With respect to privacy, we'll do everything we can to stop people from breaking into the files." Following the meeting, Specter said Wednesday he thinks people who have been angrily disrupting town hall meetings on overhauling the health care system are "not necessarily representative of America," but should be heard. Yes, Mr. Specter, it IS representative of the majority of us in America - just read the polls......

Diana Furchtgott-Roth, an adjunct fellow at the Manhattan Institute, a conservative think tank, said the provision in the House bill that calls for an ID card actually goes much further and would allow the government access to a patient's bank account, in order to determine ability to pay.

"What I see as being problematic is that the government can get into your bank account and see how much is in there," Furchtgott-Roth said.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From Rich Lowry: Billy Tauzin cut a deal with the White House that is keeping his drug industry trade group PhRMA out of its customary place in the pantheon of Democratic hate groups — for now. Pres. Barack Obama goes out of his way to praise the drug industry. Tauzin has visited the White House half a dozen times and has committed to a $150 million advertising campaign on behalf of Obamacare. He’s become the “good German” of the health-care debate — that is, the good $2 million-a-year drug-industry lobbyist.

Tauzin agreed to pass along [an Obama promised limit of ] $80 billion in savings over ten years. It wasn’t clear what exactly PhRMA had gotten in return until congressional Democrats began to run afoul of the unacknowledged provisions of the deal. It turns out the White House had committed not to
not to do three things: impose more than $80 billion in savings, have the government set prices in the Medicare prescription-drug program, and import cheaper drugs from Canada. In other words, Obama has bought off the drug companies in order to make them tout his reforms. The Chicago Machine has sent a good soldier to the White House.

Kelly Anderson Wright of American Thinker: excerpted
Last year, when Michelle Obama declared, "America is a mean country," I disagreed. As the white mom of multi-racial children, I knew our country had its share of race problems, but I never would have called America "mean."

Apparently, Michelle's "mean America" comment was simply premonitory. Last year, I was a sweet, naïve, middle class, white Italian-American businesswoman and single mother.
And now, as I, my friends, and even my elderly mother speak loudly at town hall meetings to tell our elected representatives we don't want government-run health care, we are being called Nazis, racists, political terrorists, rabid mobsters and angry, right-wing wackos, just because we are exercising our God-given right to freedom of speech.

Michelle, you are right, America is mean. The Obamanation is the meanest America I have ever known.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's quote Dr. Ekzekiel Emanuel, Obama's pick to be health-policy adviser at the Office of Management and Budget and a member of the Federal Council on Comparative Effectiveness Research. Emanuel bluntly admits that the cuts [in health care] will not be pain-free. "Vague promises of savings from cutting waste, enhancing prevention and wellness, installing electronic medical records and improving quality are merely 'lipstick' cost control, more for show and public relations than for true change," he wrote last year (Health Affairs Feb. 27, 2008).

Savings, he writes, will require changing how doctors think about their patients: Doctors take the Hippocratic Oath too seriously, "as an imperative to do everything for the patient regardless of the cost or effects on others" (Journal of the American Medical Association, June 18, 2008). "A young person with a poor prognosis has had few life-years but lacks the potential to live a complete life. Considering prognosis forestalls the concern that disproportionately large amounts of resources will be directed to young people with poor prognosis."

When fully implemented, Dr. Emanuel's system, in his words, "produces a priority curve on which individuals aged between roughly 15 and 40 years get the most substantial chance, whereas the youngest and oldest people get chances that are attenuated."
"Chances that are attenuated" , states Newt Gingrich, is a nice way of saying the young and the old are considered less worthy of health care and, under this system, will get less.
In our country, the road to dehumanizing, bureaucratic health care rationing begins with something called comparative effectiveness research (CER). It sounds completely innocent. In practice, CER means comparing different treatments for diseases to see which works best. And what doctor or patient would object to that, right?

The problem is that, in the context of a government-run health care system, comparative effectiveness research becomes a way to find a cheaper, one-size-fits-all approach to medicine that will limit health care choices for patients.

But don't just take my word for it. Congressional Democrats included $1.1 billion in the Stimulus Bill for CER. Report language explaining the bill noted that the treatments found to be "more expensive" as result of the research "will no longer be prescribed" and that "guidelines" should be developed to manage doctors.

Congressional Democrats also killed several amendments to the current health care bill that would have prevented CER from being used to ration care.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From Mary Laney of the Chicago Daily Observer: England cannot get rid of its public healthcare now because bureaucrats running its public health system are now the third largest block of employees in the world. The protesters [here in America] know this. They also know that the numbers being given on those without insurance are wildly inflated as 40 million. Take out the 10 to 20 million illegal aliens, remove the 8 to 10 million who can afford insurance but choose not to get it, and the number shrinks considerably. It would be cheaper for the government to simply pay to cover those who can’t afford insurance than to spend 17% of the nation’s economy to rip up the best health care system in the world.

Sunset For Seniors

David Keene
The San Francisco Examiner

Americans are finally getting a good look at the man in the White House. They’ve been thrilled by his speeches, love his kids and almost desperately want to believe he is who they voted for. It turns out, however, that he simply can’t tolerate disagreement.

In President Barack Obama’s view, those who disagree with him really ought to just shut up. His critics, after all, are the people responsible for the problems he was elected to solve, dupes and hirelings of those responsible, or dangerous kooks.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thirty-two (32%) of voters nationwide favor a single-payer health care system where the federal government provides coverage for everyone. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 57% are opposed to a single-payer plan. Fifty-two percent (52%) believe such a system would lead to a lower quality of care while 13% believe care would improve. 87 percent of Republicans are opposed, and those not affiliated with either party reject single payer by a decisive 63-22 percent margin.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From Phyllis Schafly: A congressional Town Hall meeting on Aug. 6 reminds us of a memorable political moment when Bill Clinton and his chief aides were in Little Rock celebrating his 1992 election. Heady with victory, Chicago staffer Rahm Emanuel demonstrated how he planned to punish political enemies by plunging his steak knife into the table and screaming, "Dead!" as he named each target. The SEIU goons [at the town hall meeting] were following White House advice: "Don't do a lot of talking," and if they encounter resistance, "punch back twice as hard."

On the other hand, there is evidence that Obama's "punch back" tactics are organized. MoveOn.org sent out a "Dear MoveOn member" email stating: "We've got a plan to fight back against these radical right-wingers. We've hired skilled grass-roots organizers who are working with thousands of local volunteers to show Congress that ordinary Americans continue to support President Obama's agenda for change. And we're building new online tools to track events across the country and make sure MoveOn members turn out at each one."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you been wondering what is upsetting those of us who are questioning our Congressmen
in recent town hall meetings? The following excerpts explain a lot about our fears about
government controlled health care. Once again, extreme, radical thinkers have been appointed
by our President to important positions. Does he not even know any moderates? It must be oh,
so upsetting that the Internet and talk radio is now able to expose what our leaders have said,
are thinking and believing. Once, back in the time of delicious concealment of facts, radical
thinkers were not exposed to the masses.

By BETSY MCCAUGHEY - Deadly Doctors

At least two of President Obama's top health advisers should never be trusted with that power

[to decide medical protocols for Americans]

Start with Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. He has already been appointed to two key positions: health-policy adviser at the Office of Management and Budget and a member of Federal Council on Comparative Effectiveness Research.

Emanuel bluntly admits that the cuts will not be pain-free. "Vague promises of savings from cutting waste, enhancing prevention and wellness, installing electronic medical records and improving quality are merely 'lipstick' cost control, more for show and public relations than for true change," he wrote last year (Health Affairs

Doctors take the Hippocratic Oath too seriously,Feb. 27, 2008).

Emanuel, however, believes that "communitarianism" should guide decisions on who gets care.

He says medical care should be reserved for the non-disabled, not given to those "who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens . . . An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia" (Hastings Center Report, Nov.-Dec. '96).

He explicitly defends discrimination against older patients: "Unlike allocation by sex or race, allocation by age is not invidious discrimination; every person lives through different life stages rather than being a single age. Even if 25-year-olds receive priority over 65-year-olds, everyone who is 65 years now was previously 25 years" (Lancet, Jan. 31).

The bills being rushed through Congress will be paid for largely by a $500 billion-plus cut in Medicare over 10 years. Knowing how unpopular the cuts will be, the president's budget director, Peter Orszag, urged Congress this week to delegate its own authority over Medicare to a new, presidentially-appointed bureaucracy that wouldn't be accountable to the public.

But Emanuel criticizes Americans for being too "enamored with technology" and is determined to reduce access to it.

In the April 9 New England Journal of Medicine, Blumenthal, another of Obama's key appointees, predicted that many doctors would resist "embedded clinical decision support" -- a euphemism for computers telling doctors what to do.

Emanuel explained how business should be done: "Every favor to a constituency should be linked to support for the health-care reform agenda. If the automakers want a bailout, then they and their suppliers have to agree to support and lobby for the administration's health-reform effort."

Do we want a "reform" that empowers people like this to decide for us?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJxmpTMGhU0 For those who have not actually seen it, you should watch this. Perhaps it should be sent to the White House for it's consideration. It is Hillary screaming about our right to debate any administration.

Dreams of Obama......

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

from gormogons.com: Please recall that after Obama's election, but prior to his Inaugural, he first showed us his arrogance by always having on this podium a never before seen logo: Office of the President Elect!

It's All About Me!

Can any of us remember a time when a president of the United States had his own logo? While I only really remember Reagan, Bush Sr., Clinton, Bush Jr. and Obama, I don't recall seeing a logo for any of the presidents before them. If I'm wrong, drop me a note, I'm not above admitting that I didn't know something. However, not only does Obama have his own logo (the portion of the picture at the left with the "O" shape containing the red and white stripes), the administration is busy using taxpayer money to adapt that logo into a logo for the national healthcare program (proposed logo is the one pictured).

What if president Truman had a logo and included it in the logo for the Central Intelligence Agency after he signed the Executive Order in effect creating the organization? What about George W. Bush putting a big, stylized "B" logo in the middle of the Department of Homeland Security and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence? Somehow, I don't think either of those would have gone over well at all.

But in walks Obama and we see cars tatooed with the logo and now it's being used as part of national program. Draw your own conclusions, but I know having a ruler's logo issued as part of national programs isn't in our history but exists in others that aren't too favorable.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's recall what Michelle Obama said while in California during the campaign: "Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zone . . . Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual - uninvolved, uninformed." Do keep these words in mind while reading the following.....

==================================================================

From a USA Today Op Ed by Steny Hoyer and Nancy Pelosi: These disruptions [by "angry, swastika-carrying mobs"] at town hall meetings are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades. Health care is complex. It touches every American life. It drives our economy. People must be allowed to learn the facts.

Well, we have learned the facts by actually reading the bill, which is more than most of you have done, and we don't like what we've learned! By the way - where was your precious right for opposing views to be heard when you closed Republicans out of the process, meeting in private, and denying that the Republicans actually DO have a plan. You just wouldn't listen to their opposing views, would you? We are attempting to teach to you the facts. You in Congress have attempted to drown out our opposing views by barring us from your meetings, by canceling your meetings, by calling us a 'manufactured mob', and by sending your union thugs in to intimidate us. And now you dare to state that when it is YOU who is drowning out OUR opposing views you are not un-American, but we are. At the time, I am sure you agreed with Hillary Clinton when she screamed that "we have a right to disagree with any administration". Now that the shoe is on the other foot, it is suddenly un-American. This statement alone shows all Americans your true character as well as your true agenda. It was your party which not so long ago declared dissent to be the highest form of patriotism....

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last year, "Obama's sexy, he was hot, and everybody wanted a piece of that," said Candice Davies, a speech therapist in Cary who trained canvassers for last year's campaign and is trying to organize support for healthcare legislation. "Now, people are going to have to work for something that is not quite as slick or sexy."

The Los Angeles Times reports that "officials in charge of the network concede that opponents of the healthcare overhaul have been more organized than Democrats had expected.

But they say Organizing for America, which was known as Obama for America during the presidential campaign, is quietly and deliberately building a system of professional field organizers and trained volunteers that has already inspired thousands of community events and reached millions of people."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last week, after being reported in the Los Angeles Times, the White House confirmed it has promised Big Pharma that any healthcare legislation will bar the government from using its huge purchasing power to negotiate lower drug prices. Now we know why the drug firms are not resisting this new plan, for Obama has promised that the "price" they will pay will be limited to an amount stated by Obama. So much for the Congress actually writing the bill, and so much for Obama's promised transparency.

Democracy is Being Sabotaged

"The White House is in bit of a conundrum because of this privacy statute that prohibits the White House from collecting data and storing it on people who disagree with it," Judge Andrew Napolitano, a FOX News analyst, said Friday.

"There's also a statute that requires the White House to retain all communications that it receives. It can't try to rewrite history by pretending it didn't receive anything," he said.

"If the White House deletes anything, it violates one statute. If the White House collects data on the free speech, it violates another statute."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"This move is an attempt to intimidate those who have legitimate concerns about the health care plan," Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice said. "And, worse, it turns the White House into some sort of self-appointed 'speech police.' This new White House reporting program strikes at the heart of the First Amendment and has no place in this important debate about health care."

Even the ACLU said in a statement to FOXNews.com that the White House blog is a "bad idea that could send a troublesome message."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our President, on the other hand, had this to say:

"I need every one of you to knock on doors and make phone calls and get fired up once again so that we can go toward the future confident with Creigh Deeds leading the great commonwealth of Virginia," Obama said. "I don't want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess," he said. " I don't mind cleaning up after them, but don't do a lot of talking." [Mr. President, the everyday Americans who are showing up to voice their concerns are not the ones who over the last 40 years have created "this mess". That would be your government. So maybe it is time for your government to get out of the way and stop trying to clean up your mess. Maybe it is now time to listen to those whom you are trying to intimidate into silence.]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Congressman
Russ Carnahan was holding a meeting in St. Louis, as noted before. Over 1000 Tea Party taxpayers were locked out, while Union thugs showed up and were escorted into the hall thru the door for the handicapped. Those locked out broke out in song: God Bless America. One of the results of having Union thugs there was that a little old man who goes to tea parties and sells flags and buttons was so roughed up that he will be spending two days in the hospital!

Mike Sola of Milan demanded that U.S. Rep. John Dingell explain why Mr. Sola's son Scott, who has cerebral palsy, would not be covered under health insurance reform legislation. They were later escorted out by police.

Harry Reid has accused us of "sabotaging the democrat process" by actually voicing our opinions. Most of us would say that it is HE who is sabotaging the democrat process.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the subject of an International Criminal Court that includes the United States, Secretary Clinton, speaking in Nairobi on Thursday, called it "a great regret" that the U.S. was not a member of the International Criminal Court, a body that adjudicates on genocide, war crimes and "crimes against humanity" (defined as including attacks "on human dignity").

Our newest high court justice in April told the Puerto Rican ACLU that she agrees with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg "that unless American courts are more open to discussing the ideas raised by foreign cases and by international cases that we are going to lose influence in the world."

Doing otherwise is "asking American judges to . . . close their minds," according to Sonia Sotomayor, because "ideas have no boundaries. Ideas are what set our creative juices flowing. They permit us to think."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) — Prosecutors say former Congressman William Jefferson could face more than 20 years in prison for today's conviction on 11 counts, including bribery, racketeering and money laundering. The New Orleans Democrat is accused of accepting more than $400,000 in bribes and seeking millions more in exchange for brokering business deals in Africa. [We can recall, perhaps, this this is the man whose freezer was found to contain over $90,000 in cash.]

Nancy Pelosi and the Swasticas!

Now it has been learned that the ONE person at a town hall meeting whom Nancy Pelosi has stated was "carrying a swastika" was someone with a tshirt that depicted a swastika - WITH A LINE CROSSING IT OUT!!! Therefore, it was a statement that the wearer is AGAINST Nazism - not for it. There are many examples of our government officials lying to us - but this takes the cake, for it is SO easy to find the truth. Nancy Pelosi should be apologizing for her mischaracterization of good American citizens. It is truly beneath the once honorable title of Speaker of the House.
OH MY GOSH! Just think about President Obama's email to 13 million supporters, as well as his administration's request for snitches to email at Flag@whitehouse.gov. Now consider Obama's ACORN (into a mighty oak will grow), and of the AFL-CIO, whose President has vowed to send his minions to combat the message of the "right-wing extremist angry mobs" at town hall meetings. Most importantly, it is time to remember something which Barack Obama, the campaigner for President said, and which the fawning media failed to highlight: "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the "national security" objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded." (emphasis added) "People of all ages, stations, and skills will be asked to serve." Since it is our government, and therefore we the people, who actually fund ACORN and it's over 300 connected organizations, we DO have a well-funded "Civilian Security Force", administered by President Barack Obama! It is indeed time for the Silent Majority to find it's voice....

Angry Mobs Against This Health Care Reform

For those of you who have not seen the newest political ad made by the Democrat National Committee, here are some excerpts:

"The right wing extremist Republican base is back. They lost the election, the Recovery Act, and the Children's Health Care Act. Their goal is [only] to destroy President Obama and to stop the change Americans voted for overwhelmingly. They've called out the "mob". [As I recall, some 50 million Americans did NOT vote for Obama...., and many of those at town hall meetings DID vote for Obama, failing to suspect that he would try to literally "change" America in the way he is attempting]. They are "desperate" people with well-funded allies, an "angry mob". [please prove just ONE organized-by-these-allies' "storming" of a meeting! Would these be sort of like your George Soros mobs, perhaps? - or more like your ACORN mobs that Obama coached to
"get in their faces" during his campaign?). They've lost the confidence of the American people."

They cannot admit that we the people include republicans, conservatives, liberals and libertarians. We are, unlike the ACORN mobs, not gathered up, put in buses, and driven to events. We are there because we are fed up with a government who will not acknowledge that more than 80% of us LIKE our current health insurance, and don't want to chance losing it. And because we are scared of the massive debt President Obama has placed on our children and grand-children.

This is a despicable ad for the DNC to run, and follows right on the heels of Obama's administration setting up their "snitch" email site to track their detractors. It's obvious that one of their beliefs is that Free Speech only applies to those who agree with them. Now we learn that once an email is sent to the White House, it can never be deleted - so they have a permanent record of all who have therein expressed their difference with Obama. So be it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In other examples of conservatives' evil ways:
Interviewer
: Do you think there's legitimate grassroot opposition going on here?

Pelosi: "I think they're Astroturf... [meaning the opposite of grassroots - sent by conservative groups] You be the judge. "They're carrying swastikas [ok - one person had a tshirt with a swastika!] and symbols like that to a town meeting on healthcare."

Barbara Boxer: "people storming the town hall meetings" and "well dressed people out to hurt President Obama" [No - we are out to keep this government takeover from happening].

We have been described as wearing Brooks Brothers suits (such as Obama's Inaugural suit?) , pink and green clothing - clear signs of an orchestrated group of protesters. There's one problem - in all photos of these "unruly mobs" we cannot find people dressed in this way. They all look like average Americans who are angry with the Congress and President..... and they aren't being listened to!

One congressman, who is refusing to hold town hall meetings during his August recess is saying that it is because we protesters are "brown shirt mobs" - comparing us to the Nazis.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dem Rep. Brian Baird of Washington State has canceled in-person town halls, citing the protesters’ use of “Brown Shirt tactics.”

Instead of appearing in person, where “extremists” would have “the chance to shout and make YouTube videos,” Baird said Wednesday, he’s holding what he calls “telephone town halls” instead.

Baird said he’s using the new system because he fears his political opponents may be planning “an ambush” to disrupt his meetings, using methods Baird compared to Nazism.

Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada accused the protesters of trying to "sabotage" the democratic process. The Republican Party says it's not behind the protests, but Reid scoffed at the notion that the protesters reflect grass-roots sentiment. A senior Republican Senate aide shot back: "Harry Reid will be surprised to learn that not only do the people he routinely insults have opinions, they also vote. Right now the 'astroturf' is out-polling Harry Reid 60-40 in Nevada."

“What we’re seeing right now is close to Brown Shirt tactics,” Baird, D-Vancouver, said in a phone interview. “I mean that very seriously.”

I have found the mob leader - and it is President Obama, who is "astroturfing" from the White House, sending an email to his 13 million "brownshirts" whom he amassed via Organizing for America during his campaign, asking his minions to get out on the street to fight back, to flood the town hall meetings, to "get in their faces" again. He has been joined by John Sweeney of the AFL-CIO, who has announced he’ll be sending in union members to the meetings to counter health care’s critics."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The headline reads: Hateful Elderly Rightist Nazi Dittohead GOP Thugs Storm AARP Meeting! [The AARP spokeswoman just unplugs her microphone and leaves, unwilling to entertain questions! The senior citizens calmly took over the meeting, giving those who wished to speak the chance to do so.]

At a town hall meeting near Tampa, Florida liberal organizers were accused of attempting to allow early admission to those who were seen as favorable to health care plans making their way through Congress. Over 1500 citizens showed up, and the anti-health care bill people were on the outside, demanding their right to be inside.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Violence is now part of these town hall meetings (in St. Louis County, for another example), for Obama's counter-rebels are not just talking and asking questions. This is "community organizing" the ACORN/Obama way. He must be so proud. Inciting riots can be oh, so exciting....

From Bart Willruth of American Thinker: Just to verify what I have been writing:
In 1930's Germany, the new socialist government of Adolf Hitler (NAZI National Socialist Workers' Party) began indoctrinating children in the quasi-military organization, the Hitler Youth, to inform on their parents should they overhear discussions subversive to the policies of the Leader. As the noose was tightened, local community organizers were appointed to watch their neighbors and were told to report subversive comments to the bureaucrats above them. Neighbors informed on neighbors, some for reasons of patriotism or loyalty, some from fear. A modern inquisition ensued; a terror to free thought and expression. Increasingly harsh penalties were meted out to those who dared to dissent.

The socialist governments of the Soviet Union, Fascist Italy, N. Korea, Cuba, Yugoslavia, and the People's Republic of China employed the same citizen informer techniques. Citizens of those societies were reduced to either silence or whispered discussion only among those they trusted the most. Of course none of those things would ever occur here in the land of the free. But wait...

Now on the White House website posted by Macon Phillips comes an eerily similar request for citizens to inform on their neighbors.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have finally found a trustworthy columnist who is addressing some of the points in the health care bill. We've all received emails of pages in the document, but I for one have not been able to verify the info. Read the following Mike Adams' column if you wish to learn some facts. He writes for Townhall and is a Criminology Professor at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington.

Dear Barack Obama: I would like for you to take the time to answer these questions for two reasons. First, I’ve spent a lot of time reading the health care bill. Second, and more importantly, the U.S. Congress has not spent much time reading the bill.

On Page 22, I saw some language, which suggested that the bill mandates audits of all employers that choose to self-insure. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 29, I saw what appeared to be an admission that health care will be rationed under this new plan. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 30, I discovered that a government committee will be established to decide what treatments and benefits I get. However, unlike an insurer, I see no evidence that there will be a process to appeal their decisions. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 50, I read some non-discrimination language, which seems to suggest that all non-US citizens, illegal or not, will be provided with free health care services. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 59, I saw some language suggesting that the federal government will have access to all individual bank accounts for health-related electronic funds transfers. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 124, I learned that no private company can sue the government for price-fixing. Furthermore, no "judicial review" is permitted against a complete government monopoly. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 127, I read that the government will now set wages for physicians. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 149, couched in esoteric “contribution” language, it looks like any employer with a payroll of $400,000 or more, who does not offer the public option, pays an 8% tax on payroll as a penalty. This penalty would go a long way towards destroying the private system. It would also seem to violate your campaign promises – specifically those you made during debates I watched. If I read this correctly, it appears you looked me – via the camera – in the eye and lied. So, Barry, can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 203, I read a very strange sentence: "The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as tax imposed by this chapter for purposes of determining the amount of any credit under this chapter." I know this is supposed to be a true/false test but do you think calling a “tax” by some other name means it is no longer a tax? This seems to be a persistent theme in this bill. Please explain. Attach extra sheets of paper if necessary.

Page 272 has some of the most esoteric language of the health care bill. But it looks like the government plans to ration health care for cancer patients. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 280, I read that hospitals will be penalized for what the government deems to be “preventable re-admissions.” Once again, I know this is supposed to be a true/false test but, please, tell me this: How is the government in a better position (than a health care professional) to determine what constitutes a “preventable re-admission?”

Page 317 suggests that doctors will soon be prohibited from owning and investing in health care companies. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

The following page suggests that hospitals can no longer expand without government approval. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 429 things get very disturbing unless, of course, I am reading this wrong. It appears that an advance care planning consultation will be used to dictate treatment as a patient's health deteriorates. This can include an order for end-of-life plans – specifically, an order from the government. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

It really bothers me, Mr. President, that I can learn a lot more about pending legislation from an internet chat room than I can from my elected representatives. It also bothers me that I have to read pending bills because, in all likelihood, my representatives will not. Regardless, I want you to read this email carefully and answer all of my questions.

If you answer “true” – even to a single question - you will have lost any prospect of gaining my support. If you answer “false” to every question we can move on to pages 500 through1018.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In another example of the power of Barack Obama's foreign policy:

Mark Mazzetti and Thom Shanker report that a pair of nuclear-powered Russian attack submarines has been patrolling off the eastern seaboard of the United States in recent days, a rare mission that has raised concerns inside the Pentagon and intelligence agencies about a more assertive stance by the Russian military.

The episode has echoes of the cold war era, when the United States and the Soviet Union regularly parked submarines off each other’s coasts to steal military secrets, track the movements of their underwater fleets — and be poised for war.

My letter to Flag@whitehouse.gov

We are now being called part of a "fringe" group because we are confronting this government's plans for a government take-over of all our health care. We are being told that we are there because of the insurance companies and their organization of us to be at town hall meetings.

Here is my letter to Flag@whitehouse.gov:

I am writing to report an "iffy" description of your health care bill. It is from the White House, and is described as your 5 point plan to remake health care in our country. It is hiding from us the truth. And the very notion that you have made this email site available for citizens to "inform" you of those they think are against you is a shocking example of gestapo tactics - citizens spying on citizens just for you.

For instance, you say we can keep our own insurance plan, that we will not be forced to go on a government plan. That is true - UNTIL WE CHANGE OUR JOB and need to get new insurance, in which case we must go on the government plan.

I suggest you read all 1000+ pages of this bill to see what you are asking over 80% of Americans who have health insurance and like their current plan to forfeit. This is not what we have in mind to fix the system. We want it fixed for those who do not otherwise have insurance. Leave the rest of us alone, and stop claiming that insurance companies are immoral and evil! A federal government which controls our country and many of its companies is what is evil. It is also unconstitutional, as it far exceeds the constitutional mandates for what the federal government is tasked to do for the country.

One last thing: you should treat the good Americans who are finally mad enough to get out of their easy chairs to express themselves with the same dignity and admiration as you treat the ACORN community organizers whom you have trained. We are there not because we have been organized to be there, nor because we are possible terrorists who are part of a "fringe" group, but because we care about the direction in which you are taking our country. As Hillary Clinton famously screamed: "We are Americans, and we have a RIGHT to disagree with ANY administration!!!"

Whitehouse email for Obama's informants to turn us in.....

Perhaps you, like I, wondered why Vice President Biden joined President Obama's "Beer Diplomacy" with Sgt. Crowley and Professor Gates. Here is a possible reason, stated by Dennis Prager: "We were all blindsided by the reason that liberals apparently instinctively understood: to provide racial balance, as it wouldn’t look right if Sgt. Crowley were outnumbered two to one by blacks. In the words of the New York Times coverage of the event: “to add balance to the photo op that the White House presented: two black guys, two white guys, sitting around a table.” How instructive, adds Prager. "The fact that Crowley was outnumbered three to one by liberals meant little or nothing to most Americans on the left, because they deem race far more significant than values. Most conservatives, on the other hand, saw the president, the vice-president, the Harvard professor and the police officer, not two blacks and two whites. Indeed, such a calculation would have struck most conservatives as absurd: Was Sgt. Crowley supposed to think, “Hey, great, another white is at the table; now I feel secure”? "

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the words of Barack Hussein Obama in Dreams of my Father: My stepfather Lolo said, "Men take advantage of weakness in other men. They're just like countries in that way. The strong man takes the weak man's land. He makes the weak man work in his fields. If the weak man's woman is pretty, the strong man will take her. Which would you rather be? Better to be strong. If you can't be strong, be clever and make peace with someone who's strong. But always better to be strong yourself. Always."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress has recently attempted to explain the Obama health care stand on old folks and their health care, saying that Obama, with his mantra for old people to just take a pill and deal with infirmities, will help us younger folks get over our "guilt trap", whereby we do more than we probably should to keep our parents alive, thereby spending way too much money on them. Now - don't we seniors feel so much better?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are some excerpts from a letter from Representative Darrell Issa to Rahm Emanuel:

The Honorable Rahm Emanuel
White House Chief of Staff
The White House
Washington, D.C. 20500
Dear Mr. Emanuel:
As you know, Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ) recently raised questions about the failure
of the stimulus and suggested on a national television show that stimulus money
scheduled to be spent in future years ought to be returned to the American taxpayers.
Following Senator Kyl's remarks, according to Politico, you coordinated an "assault" on
Senator Kyl and other critics of your policies by directing four cabinet secretaries to write
to Jan Brewer, the Governor of Arizona, asking pointedly if, in light of Senator Kyl's
remarks, Governor Brewer wished to forfeit taxpayer money directed to Arizona by the
stimulus. These tactics have been characterized as "a fist to the nose" and a message to
"Back off."While this type of scare tactic may work in Chicago, it will not work to
intimidate me or other Members of the United States Congress. At the risk of adding to the "weeks of frustration" you've reportedly felt in response to criticism of the Administration's ineffective and wasteful policies, please allow me to bring the facts about the stimulus to your attention. In selling the stimulus package, the Administration promised the Congress and the American people that the legislation would create or save 3.5 million jobs and prevent the U.S. unemployment rate from rising above 8%.

I and others have dared to bring these facts to the attention of President Obama,
the Congress and the American people. You've unfortunately reacted by once again
resorting to the playbook of the Chicago political machine. As Politico reports, you
"launched a coordinated effort to jam" Senator Kyl and other Administration critics:

At what point do you believe your practice of Chicago-style politics violates a public official's right to speak out in favor of alternative policies? The American people have a right to know what role you played in developing the threatening letters to Governor Brewer and whether you intend to continue to engage in these tactics in the future.
Well done, Representative Issa!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We The People are finally leaving the comfort of our homes to make our voices heard at town hall meetings and tea parties. The Democrats and President Obama, who just love it when ACORN member get "in the faces" of their opponents, are unhappy with these "mobs", as they call us. They are attempting to make America believe that these are "rented mobs" sent by the "immoral" insurance companies, not wanting to believe that the Silent Majority are finally taking a stand. Let's keep reminding them that we've taken enough and we WON'T let them take from us our free speech! As Hillary Clinton famously screamed: "we have a RIGHT to debate any administration!"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Flag@whitehouse.gov! This is the email site to which the White House has asked it's minions (informants) to send to them any iffy emails they receive regarding opposition to the health care bill. Gosh, I wonder how many of us will now be in Obama's database...... I think I'll write a letter to this email address to express my outrage!

http://www.breitbart.tv/uncovered-video-obama-explains-how-his-health-care-plan-will-eliminate-private-insurance/ If you can spend a few minutes watching this video, you will hear the following quotes by Barack Obama: "We won't be able to limit employer coverage immediately. There will be some transition process. I can envision this 10-15 years out"; and "I happen to be a proponent of a single payer system". You will hear Barney Frank one week ago saying: "I think if we could get a public option - that could lead to a single-payer system. That's the best way to reach single payer". Our government is lying to us when it says this will not take away from us our choices. In fact, this is their incremental move to get us all covered by a government plan - except of course for THEMSELVES!
We should at least expect them to actually read the bill prior to voting on it.. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) previously laughed at the idea of all members of Congress reading the entire health care bill. “I’m laughing because I don’t know how long this bill is going to be, but it’s going to be a very long bill." Several Congressman have put forth a bill mandating the reading of the bill.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

News is being made about Congressmen having to deal with feisty, take-back-my-country constituents (who are increasingly questioning their Congressmen on the issues with which they disagree), and some of them have decided not to hold town hall meetings because they consider their disagreeing constituents to be dangerous, or at least difficult - and who would want to subject themselves to that? When a group of senior citizens went to Diane Feinstein's office, for instance, to discuss their concerns over the proposed health care bill, she made them wait for 6 hours. At that time, she had police lure them outside, after which she had the doors to the building locked. Lloyd Doggett, D, was in Austin to support the opening of a new Visitor Center, when some people began protesting the health care bill. When Arlen Specter and Kathleen Sebelius held a meeting, they were confronted with folks who questioned their stated need for speed, and their stated no need for reading the bill. So - in my view, news is being made about Americans who have reached the end of their patience with a government takeover of our nation. They are showing up, speaking up, and rebelling! Perhaps these, our representatives, hold dear the proclamation by our Homeland Security Chief that Tea Party protesters are possible terrorists. They are cancelling or failing to schedule meetings while in their home states.....

I have personally learned that more than 5000 citizens joined Judge Napolitano of Fox News for a Tea Party Protest at the Capitol building in downtown Columbus, Ohio. We need more of these great turnouts of citizens demanding that their Congressmen pay attention to those whom they represent! Did any of you see this covered in the news? Probably not.

News
is breaking about what happens when a person wants to turn in his "clunker" car, which is to be destroyed within two days, in order to get $4500 from the federal government when he buys a government-approved car. The dealer logs onto Cars.gov. and "submits" his transaction. Here is where it says, ‘Privacy Act & Security Statement'. Most people will agree without actually reading to what they are agreeing. A warning box comes up, and it says, ‘This application provides to the DoT CARS system. When logged on to the CARS system, your computer is considered a federal computer system and it is property of the United States government. Any and all uses of this system and all files on this system may be intercepted, monitored, recorded, copied, audited, inspected, and disclosed to authorized CARS, DoT and law enforcement personnel, as well as authorized officials of other agencies, both domestic and foreign." [ We can thank Glenn Beck for exposing this problem. Can anyone begin to feel an invasion of privacy here?]
Atty. Kimberly Guilfoyle of Fox News Network said that the government can legally use Web software to track your computer any time they want once you've logged into the site. The government, according to her, has malware systems and tracking cookies to tap in any time they want......[ And in the last administration the Democrats thought that tracking the phone calls of suspected terrorists was a bad thing.... Well, this certainly trumps that as an invasion of privacy, doesn't it? We'll keep on this to see if this could possibly be true, but it has been reported by a valid news source. An unintended consequence of this cash for clunkers program is that because the clunkers are all to be destroyed, fewer old and used cars and their parts will be available to those among us who can only afford to buy and drive an old used car. Those people's costs will be going up due to the decreasing number of used cars and parts available.....]

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And in this week's I Kid You Not story, for they actually seem to be facing some detractors:

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Sam Brownback today with Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) introduced the Human-Animal Hybrid Prohibition Act of 2009.

“This legislation works to ensure that our society recognizes the dignity and sacredness of human life,” said Brownback. “Creating human-animal hybrids, which permanently alter the genetic makeup of an organism, will challenge the very definition of what it means to be human and is a violation of human dignity and a grave injustice.”

In a move sure to upset all insurance companies and their employees, Nancy Pelosi has stated: "It's almost immoral what they are doing," referring to insurance companies. "Of course they've been immoral all along in how they have treated the people that they insure," she said, adding, "They are the villains. They have been part of the problem in a major way. They are doing everything in their power to stop a public option from happening.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The CBO put in writing the obvious: In its second decade, Obamacare significantly bends the curve [of expenses] upward -- increasing deficits even more than in the first decade.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Obama recently entertained 4 large company CEOs for lunch in the White House. Unbelievable but true: White House staffers actually took the credit card numbers from those CEOs so they could charge them for their meals! Well, at least Obama has finally found a way to save some money instead of spending money. Oh - of course, he spends our money on HIMSELF - he charges for OTHER people's meals.....
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh My Gosh!!!!! With lightening speed, our House of Representatives has decided that the only sector of our economy which merits MORE bailout money is THEIR (OK - our) automobile industry. SO - several hours after learning that their first one billion dollars are gone, they have already approved $2BILLION dollars more for the "Cash for Clunkers" program. Are they afraid that this is the only way they can get us to buy those small cars we really don't want? I want a new computer to replace my 7 year old one, and I'm OLD, so aren't I deserving? OOPS! I almost forgot! If I'm OLD I probably don't need a new computer, cause I may not be here in another 7 years.... Or how about spending $3B to reduce everyone's mortgage loan balances - or maybe cutting $3B from our tax withholding - or allowing homes to be sold without having to pay capital gains taxes? Say! Wouldn't it be fun to be able to get some new clothes, so that retailers can make some money? Or how about a cash for workout facility dues, for that would make us all more healthy. Wouldn't that be more "fair", redistributing our taxpayer money to all of us who actually pay taxes, instead of only to those who want a new car, whether they need one or not? The Senate is still considering......

Ashley Herzog suggests that you need to read an article in the latest issue of Time magazine, titled “Summer School: What? No More Vacations?” If Obama’s Education Secretary Arne Duncan has his way, your kids will be in government schools eight hours a day, twelve months a year.

She writes: Liberals will no doubt portray this as another altruistic “Save the Children” plan, as well as a taxpayer-funded babysitting service for low-income women and moms who have better things to do than raise their own kids. (“Mom isn't waiting at home at 2:30 with a peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwich. That just doesn't happen in many American families anymore,” Duncan says in the article.) They’ll recite the pointless factoid that summer vacations are an outdated product of America’s farming culture. Its proponents were also clear about their larger goal. “Day care is a powerful institution,” Democrats Walter Mondale and John Brademas wrote to constituents in 1970. “A day care program that ministers to a child from six months to six years of age has over 8,000 hours to teach him values, fears, beliefs, and behaviors.” [Is it any wonder that in California, making home schooling illegal was attempted? In public school is where the indoctrination of our children begins: indoctrination into alternative life styles, wealth redistribution, anti-America sentiment, idolization of socialism, rewriting of our country's history, man-made global warming and others.]

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

More on the Healthcare bill:

"The most ominous of all are pages 424- 430 entitled "Advance Care Planning Consultations", which mandate periodic meetings for seniors with a government bureaucrat to determine how best to prepare for death. Page 429 allows the patient to list their preferences, but page 430 permits the state to "limit some or all" of the patient's requests. And it's all so cleverly packaged and sold by our charismatic president as a "caring, compassionate" approach to our health care problems.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our government's Cash For Clunkers program seems not to have been well thought out.
Imagine that! After just one week, the one billion dollars set aside for the program has been
used up & the program will probably be cancelled.... Am I the only one who recognizes this
program as a second bailout of the auto companies, for it inspires people to buy the cars with the
further aid of the government? Thus we have yet another example of
unintended consequences".
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I write today to encourage you to join hundreds of Townhall participants across the country
who are attending Townhall meetings to express their disagreement with the [mostly]
Democrat Congressmen who are attempting to take our excellent health care insurance away
from us! Yes WE can! Call and write and make your voices heard.
