Taxing the middle class; More go on disability than got jobs; DNC Chair pretty happy with jobs numbers; Another reason to vote Republican; Supreme Court on union dues; Obama outsources stimulus funds; FL lifeguard offered his job back; The naked contempt of Obama; Horrifying MI testing scores; MI limits government takeover of more land; Russian bombers in our airspace once again; Republican governors have lower unemployment; Public school workers doubled while students increased 8.5%; The farm bill is food stamps

The president announced today that he favors a one-year extension of the Bush tax cuts for families making less than $250,000 a year — and a tax hike for millions of others. Considering the persistently bad employment, manufacturing, and growth numbers, maybe the president should take a trip down memory lane to 2009, when he said “you don’t raise taxes in a recession.” [This falls into the category of knowing that whenever you see his lips moving, he is lying. Some Democrats want the line in the sand to be $1million.]  http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/305019/you-dont-raise-taxes-recession-kristen-elia

Did you know that in the month of June MORE AMERICAN PEOPLE WENT ON DISABILITY THAN FOUND JOBS?    Do you realize that our "poor" citizens mostly have cell phones, cars, tv, air-conditioning, free food, etc.?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
However, Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) was far more optimistic, saying she was “pretty happy” about the latest jobs numbers.
The president hailed the June jobs data as “a step in the right direction.” Republicans slammed Obama’s choice of words, saying it recalled his recent assertion that “the private sector is doing fine,” despite myriad indications to the contrary.
The president told supporters in Pittsburgh that under his leadership, “we’ve started to see manufacturing come back to our shores.”
However, just last week, the Institute for Supply Management’s reported that U.S. manufacturing activity contracted for the first time in three years. http://freebeacon.com/the-fail-bus/

Many conservatives are angry with Chief Justice John Roberts, whose decisive vote in late June not only sustained a disastrous health-care law. It also interpreted the Constitution to permit Congress to penalize behavior through its taxing power that it cannot control through its power to regulate commerce.
All of this underscores that in terms of lasting importance, the power to control Supreme Court nominations is the grand prize in the coming presidential election. Long after Barack Obama and Mitt Romney fade in our memories, the Supreme Court justices one of them appoints will still be rendering the rulings that determine the future course of our nation. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304141204577509250108648814.html?mod=WSJ_Opinion_LEADTop

The U.S. Supreme Court, in a hat tip to common sense, decided yesterday that nonunion members can opt out of union fees that are targeted towards political purposes.
“Labor unions must give nonmember workers ‘fresh notice’ of unplanned increases in fees or assessments -- money that might be used for political purposes -- the Supreme Court ruled Thursday,” according to CNN.
For labor unions around the country, it serves as a painful reminder that when they decided to go all-in for Obama in 2008, they alienated the rest of us non-government, non-union members- the 99 Percent- who have to go out and earn our keep every day. And that alienation is being felt in political defeats by unions around the country.   http://finance.townhall.com/columnists/johnransom/2012/07/10/hey_unions_welcome_to_politics_watch_that_bloody_nose/page/full/

Republicans are looking to flip the script on President Obama's frequent charges that Mitt Romney supported the outsourcing of American jobs with a new push Tuesday to highlight instances that stimulus dollars helped companies create jobs overseas.

At an event in Iowa on Tuesday, RNC chairman Reince Priebus will debut a new website — ObamanomicsOutsourced.com — that features companies that received stimulus dollars and opened factories in foreign countries. Among the examples: a solar panel factory in Mexico, windmills in Denmark, and a battery manufacturer in South Korea.

HALLANDALE BEACH (CBSMiami) – Lifeguard Tomas Lopez’s journey this week has been all over the map. He went from being hailed for helping save a life, to being fired for leaving his beach, to being offered his job back.
But Monday, Lopez will once again be hailed, this time by Hallandale Beach. Mayor Joy Cooper told CBS4’s Carey Codd Friday that Lopez will receive a key to the city in a Monday morning news conference.  http://miami.cbslocal.com/2012/07/06/fired-lifeguard-to-receive-key-to-city-in-hallandale-beach/

"That's it," I thought: contempt.  Never have we seen a president so full of naked contempt for any person or idea or policy that does not accord with his own vision, plans, and beliefs.  Obama doesn't just disagree with others; he holds them in contempt.
Obama has shown contempt for American friends and allies.  He insulted the Czechs and Poles when he unilaterally and without warning repudiated our missile defense agreements with them.  His contemptuous snubs and denigrations of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu are notorious.  He recently showed contempt for the British by refusing to say he would recognize Britain's claim to sovereignty over the Falkland Islands, even if the Falklands' residents voted for British sovereignty in a plebiscite.  And just as Jimmy Carter ensured the shah's departure by rejecting him, so Obama paved the way for the Muslim Brotherhood's rise to power in Egypt by snubbing, ignoring, and abandoning a flawed ally rather than work with him to encourage reforms.
The president has shown his contempt for American voters in various ways, from whispering to Russian leader Medvedev that he will be able to concede more to Putin after he wins re-election to having the Justice Department fight state voter ID laws to decreeing that illegal immigrants be given work permits that will lead to driver's licenses that will lead to illegals being registered to vote under various "motor voter" statutes. [The latest school exam results for Michigan are devastating!    Those passing various subjects are as follows, according to the Petoskey News Review:
Science   26%
Social Studies 41%
Writing 49%
Reading 56%
Math 29%
This leaves, according to the paper few high school juniors who are "college ready"
Average ACT scores, out of a possible 36 are:
Boyne City: 20.10
Charlevoix: 20.1
East Jordan: 18.8
Petoskey: 21.2
State Average: 19.6
At nearly 80 Michigan schools, NONE of the students were considered to be college ready.  How does that reflect on our Department of Education, Teachers and their unions, and parents of the students?
I also wish to ask members of public unions what they think about THEIR  union dues going for the purchase of fancy resorts which are used for junkets for the union leaders?  Do they get to go to "their" resorts?

From the Petoskey News Review comes word that Governor Snyder signed into law a limit on Michigan's ability to acquire even more land, making Agenda 21 detractors happy and environmentalists mad.

Two Russian strategic nuclear bombers entered the U.S. air defense zone near the Pacific coast on Wednesday [July 4] and were met by U.S. interceptor jets, defense officials told the Free Beacon.
It was the second time Moscow dispatched nuclear-capable bombers into the 200-mile zone surrounding U.S. territory in the past two weeks.
An earlier intrusion by two Tu-95 Bear H bombers took place near Alaska as part of arctic war games that a Russian military spokesman said included simulated attacks on “enemy” air defenses and strategic facilities.
A defense official said the Pacific coast intrusion came close to the U.S. coast but did not enter the 12-mile area that the U.S. military considers sovereign airspace. http://freebeacon.com/putins-

In 2010, influenced by the Tea Party and its focus on fiscal issues, 17 states elected Republican governors. And, according to an Examiner.com analysis, every one of those states saw a drop in their unemployment rates since January of 2011. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/07/07/Unemployment-Rate-Dropped-In-Every-State-That-Elected-A-Republican-Gov-In-2010

President Obama said last month that America can educate its way to prosperity if Congress sends money to states to prevent public school layoffs and "rehire even more teachers."Since 1970, the public school workforce has roughly doubled—to 6.4 million from 3.3 million—and two-thirds of those new hires are teachers or teachers' aides. Over the same period, enrollment rose by a tepid 8.5%. Employment has thus grown 11 times faster than enrollment. If we returned to the student-to-staff ratio of 1970, American taxpayers would save about $210 billion annually in personnel costs. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303734204577465413553320588.html?mod=googlenews_wsj

A full 78% of the soon-to-be-voted-upon Farm Bill simply pays for FOOD STAMPS!  and nutrition programs.  Are you happy about that?

  1. Our society is in a rapid decline, given those school scores, and all the problems of drugs and violence in urban settings across the Country. No effective leadership from politicians--in fact with Obama he is fueling the burning rage and racial discord, class warfare and class envy that will fully destroy America.
