Circumcision criminalized; First mixed-race president; Crusaders in warmner climes; Pentagon rescinds recent edict; Withhold all aid to Egypt?; Opposition notebooks found online; CNN hammers Obama's hypocrisy on transparency; EPA roadless rule hampers Forest Service, causes bigger fires; Obama won't apologize for lying about Mitt; Unmanned underwater craft to Persian Gulf; EBT cards used for tatoos, manicures, etc.

Calling it the "worst attack on Jewish life since the Holocaust," the Conference of European Rabbis on Thursday strongly condemned a recent German court decision that criminalizes the circumcision of boys.

"A ban on circumcision poses an existential question for the Jewish community in Germany," the president of the organization, Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, said on Thursday. "If the ruling is allowed to stand, then I don't see a future for Jews in Germany." http://www.spiegel.de/international/germany/european-jewish-leaders-lambast-german-circumcision-ruling-a-844128.html

Last Friday, while on Michel Martin's NPR show, "Tell Me More," Hollywood titan Morgan Freeman informed his host that, contrary to the prevailing wisdom, Barack Hussein Obama is not America's first black president.
He is the country's "first mixed-race president."  The first black president, Freeman continued, has not as yet "arisen."
So, one wonders, whence stems the popular misconception that Obama is black?  Freeman has an answer ready at hand: the president's opponents.
Obama's rivals want to fuel the flames of racial bigotry by emphasizing his African ancestry while ignoring his white background.  Yet they conveniently "forget that Barack had a mama" who "was white, very white American, Kansas, middle of America."
[The truth here, if Morgan would only wake up, is that it is Obama himself who describes himself as black, seeking black friends, failing to mention his whiteness in any way.]

While CBS touts a "groundbreaking" government report linking extreme weather and climate change, German researchers find 2,000 years of cooling and warmer temps in medieval times and the Roman era.
This summer's heat wave has given the global warmongers new hope in conning the hot and the restless into believing the whole thing is due to that SUV parked in your driveway and that coal-fired plant down the street.
Not so fast, say German researchers who documented a two millennia cooling trend. Both the Roman legions and Crusaders marched in warmer climes. http://news.investors.com/article/618004/201207121907/climate-warmer-in-roman-medieval-times.htm

The chairman of the House Armed Services Committee on Thursday threatened to hold up Pentagon funding for military activities until the department reverses a policy of requiring sharply reduced reports to Congress. The Pentagon announced it is scrapping the policy a short time later.
“We have rescinded the guidance,” said Pentagon spokesman George Little.
The policy, which mandated all reports to Congress be around 10 pages in length, was put in place last year by the office of the undersecretary of defense for policy, Little said. He noted that Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, a former House member, is committed to being responsive to Congress. http://freebeacon.com/mckeon-1-pentagon-0/

It could be one of the biggest political intelligence coups of the 2012 battle to control Congress. Media Trackers, a conservative investigative watchdog group, discovered nearly three-dozen Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee opposition research notebooks – extensive secretive manuals outlining anything that could be used against a political opponent. Several news outlets have reported that some of the files have been quietly published on the DCCC’s website to facilitate their use by independent expenditure groups. On Thursday, however, Media Trackers published a dozen opposition research books that Democrats have so far managed to keep secret.
Although the sudden availability of the files may trump any timetable Democrats may have put together for distributing the information, their value to Republicans depends largely on the individual campaign’s own strategic response. The information – if damaging in anyway – could be pre-empted or attacks based on the material could be headed off at a time when they are not quite so damaging as the final weeks of a campaign. As is often the case, the general dynamics of a race will impact the value of the early release almost as much as the substance of the intelligence itself.
The full list of still-secret opposition books discovered and released by Media Trackers is as follows: http://www.redstate.com/briansikma/2012/07/12/compromised-intel-secret-democratic-political-research-files-for-twelve-2012-match-ups-found-via-google/

Environmental regulations restricting the construction of forest access roads have limited the ability of the Forest Service to clear combustible brush and trees, adding dangerous fuel to the wildfires that have ravaged Colorado this summer. The so-called “roadless rule,” which was first implemented in 2001 by President Clinton shortly before he left office, restricts and in many cases prohibits local and federal officials from building and maintaining roads that allow firefighters to clear out growth that could instantly become tinder for a new fire.
The Roadless Area Conservation Rule, regularly referred to as the 2001 roadless rule, was adopted in January of 2001 and classified 31 percent of national forest lands in Colorado as Inventoried Roadless Areas (IRA’s). Four of the national forests that fell under the IRA classification did so based on inventories from 1979, four more were classified as IRA’s based on inventories from 1996, 1997, 1998, and 2002. [I've also read that while we are decrying 8 million acres being on fire this year, 38 million acres was typical in the past.] http://www.redstate.com/aarongardner/2012/07/11/clinton-era-environmental-rules-increased-wildfire-risks-in-colorado/

The Navy is rushing dozens of unmanned underwater craft to the Persian Gulf to help detect and destroy mines in a major military buildup aimed at preventing Iran from closing the strategic Strait of Hormuz in the event of a crisis, U.S. officials said.

"When I think about what we've done well and what we haven't done well," the president said, "the mistake of my first term - couple of years - was thinking that this job was just about getting the policy right. And that's important. But the nature of this office is also to tell a story to the American people that gives them a sense of unity and purpose and optimism, especially during tough times." http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/obama-my-biggest-mistake-was-not-telling-story_648482.html
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Is the debate on illegal immigration finally turning serious? Mitt Romney's campaign has laid out an immigration strategy that ends rewards for lawbreaking, stops political pandering and makes rule of law matter again.
'Gov. Romney believes that young illegal immigrants brought here as children should have the chance to become permanent residents if they serve honorably in the U.S. military," a Romney spokeswoman told CNS News this week. "And illegal immigrants should be able to register and get in line with other applicants."
In a nutshell, that two-track option for illegals takes the various thinly disguised amnesty proposals that reward and encourage more illegal immigration, such as the Dream Act, off the table as the only option. http://news.investors.com/article/618006/201207121907/instead-of-rewarding-illegals-romney-slows-the-flow.htm

After his speech to the NAACP national convention Wednesday, Romney said he connected with black leaders in private and was assured that the loud and sustained booing he got for promising to repeal the health care reform law didn’t represent the feelings of all African American voters, even if they can’t say so in public.  [Media, of course, focused solely on the booing Mitt received from the NCAA.  They completely hid from us the fact that Mitt got a standing ovation from the audience when he finished his speech.  Also hidden from us was the fact the VP Joe Biden spoke to an almost empty room.  And let's not forget Nancy Pelosi's wonderful comment that Mitt tried to get booed so that he would curry favor with southern racists.  It's a wonderful life when you get to make up your own stories.] http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/07/mitt-romney-i-have-secret-black-supporters-video.php

Organized labor has a new request for lawmakers throughout the country: Sign labor’s “Second Bill of Rights” or suffer consequences at the polls in November.
The “bill” — a list of rights and priorities labor is promoting and pushing to be featured at the Democratic and Republican national conventions — takes aim at everything from low wages and uncertain retirement benefits to subpar education and new voting-rights laws. It’s labor’s latest attempt in its promise to hold lawmakers, particularly Democrats, accountable for not backing or promoting certain initiatives. Included on the list of rights labor says Americans deserve: the right to gainful employment and “a living wage”, the right to full participation in the electoral process, the right to collective bargaining and the rights to quality education and secure healthy futures.
“This is our way of asking those in leadership positions: Are you with us?,” AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka said at a press conference in Washington Thursday to discuss plans for the initiative. “If you don’t sign on you obviously don’t support one or more of these” things, he said. The consequences will be felt “at the polls,” Mr. Trumka added.
That threat didn’t seem to be aimed at President Barack Obama http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2012/07/12/labor-wants-candidates-to-sign-second-bill-of-rights/?mod=WSJBlog&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+wsj%2Fwashwire%2Ffeed+%28WSJ.com%3A+Washington+Wire%29

President Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released an official policy directive undermining the welfare reform law of 1996. The new policy guts the federal work requirements that have been the foundation of that law — one of the most successful domestic policy reforms in the 20th century.
Obama’s new welfare decree guts sound anti-poverty policy. The administration tramples on the actual legislation passed by Congress and seeks to impose its own policy choices — a pattern that has become all too common in this administration.

The Obama administration is in federal court this week challenging Texas’ new law requiring voters to show photo identification at the polls.Attorney General Eric Holder told the NAACP yesterday that such laws are like the poll taxes of old intended to keep blacks from voting.  But most voters don’t see it that way.
In fact, Rasmussen Reports polling finds that only 21% of Likely U.S. Voters nationwide think it’s discriminatory to require all voters to prove their identity before being allowed to vote.  Seventy-three percent (73%) disagree and say such a requirement does not discriminate against some voters. That’s consistent with past polling on the topic. http://www.libertynews.com/2012/07/12/poll-73-favor-voter-id-laws/

GM’s sales figures for last month were the best since 2008 , up 16% for the month of June. YIPPEE! Well, wait just a minute. It seems that those rosey sales figures are due primarily to a 79% increase in fleet sales to the U.S.government in June. That’s right. Our tax dollars are being used to pump up GM’s sales figures ahead of next month’s quarterly report so that Dear Leader can point to Government Motors as a huge success.  One of GM’s past tricks to help fudge earnings numbers has been to stuff truck inventory channels. Old habits die hard at GM. According to a Bloomberg report, “GM said inventory of its full-size pickups, which will be refreshed next year, climbed to 238,194 at the end of June, a 135 days supply, up from 116 days at the end of May.” 135 days supply is huge, the accepted norm is a 60 day supply. The trick here is that GM records revenue when vehicles go into dealership inventories, not when actually sold to consumers. http://www.theblogmocracy.com/2012/07/07/gm-fleet-sales-to-the-government-up-79-in-june/

"When a president doesn’t tell the truth," the voiceover in the ad says. "How can we trust him to lead?"
"The Obama outsourcing attacks: ‘misleading, unfair and untrue,'" the voiceover continues. "There was ‘no evidence’ that Mitt Romney shipped jobs overseas."
Then, the ad refers to what it considers unfair attacks on Democrat Hillary Clinton during the 2008 campaign. "Candidate Obama lied about Hillary Clinton," the voiceover states, before cutting to a clip of Clinton saying, "So shame on you, Barack Obama."
The ad concludes: "But America expects more from a president. Obama’s dishonest campaign: Another reason America has lost confidence in Barack Obama."

Disappointingly, last time the issue [the Bush tax cuts] was brought before the Congress, it was estimated to add just $85 billion per year in tax revenue--enough to run the federal government for a mere eight days.
And shamefully for Obama, even though this measure was expectedly defeated in the Republican-dominated House--it could not pass in the Democrat-led Senate either, which he neglected to mention, before blaming this stalemate squarely on ... "the other party."
The real problem for Barack Obama is that his lack of any knowledge about capitalism, which is showing in his continuing to promote this totally "class warfare" oriented bill, and he knows that his growing political impotence cannot even overcome the push-back amongst his own party. http://www.examiner.com/article/new-poll-majority-of-likely-voters-believe-obama-is-destroying-usa

About a dozen militants arrived in an armored four-wheel drive truck, armed with pickaxes and hoes. They fired in the air to intimidate people and started smashing the tombs, said Ibrahim Cisse, who witnessed the scene.
The new destruction comes after attacks last week on other historic and religious landmarks in Timbuktu that UNESCO called "wanton destruction".

The Obama administration is moving to shut down nine Border Patrol stations across four states, triggering a backlash from local law enforcement, members of Congress and Border Patrol agents themselves.
Critics of the move warn the closures will undercut efforts to intercept drug and human traffickers in well-traveled corridors north of the U.S.-Mexico border. Though the affected stations are scattered throughout northern and central Texas, and three other states, the coverage areas still see plenty of illegal immigrant activity -- one soon-to-be-shuttered station in Amarillo, Texas, is right in the middle of the I-40 corridor; another in Riverside, Calif., is outside Los Angeles.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection says it's closing the stations in order to reassign agents to high-priority areas closer to the border.

Republicans, eager to put Senate Democrats on record on taxes, tried to force a vote Wednesday on President Obama's proposal to extend middle-class tax cuts but raise taxes for the rich, but Majority Leader Harry Reid objected, essentially sidelining the president's plan.
Sen. Mitch McConnell, Republicans' leader, tried to set up competing votes — one on the GOP's plan to extend all the tax cuts for one year, and another on Mr. Obama's proposal to extend them only for households making $250,000 or less.

Former President George W. Bush has kept a relatively low profile in the United States since leaving office.  But in Africa this week he is publicly promoting his institute's initiative to prevent and treat cervical cancer. While Bush is following a familiar post-presidential path in supporting humanitarian causes, he would prefer to focus on quiet service, to lead through example and hard work.
He worked alongside other volunteers in Kabwe - Zambia's second-largest city - to renovate a health clinic which specializes in the early detection and treatment of cervical cancer.

The Senate Appropriations Committee has created a $20 million fund for Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to invest in biotech startups, shifting money to a program that some say resembles the Department of Energy’s controversial loan guarantees.
The Strategic Investor initiative allocates $20 million to “allow the Federal Government to partner with small biotechnology companies in order to foster and accelerate the generation of novel medical countermeasures and technologies,” according to the Senate Appropriations Committee.
“That money is coming at the direct expense of funding that would directly fund anti-terrorism preparedness measures,” said a source familiar with the biotech industry. http://freebeacon.com/a-solyndra-for-sebelius/

Elections are about numbers, and right now the president's are bad. To understand why, consider 2008 as a reference point. That year, Barack Obama received 69,456,897 votes to John McCain's 59,934,814.
But a big chunk of President Obama's 9.5 million-vote advantage is probably gone. Let's break this down. According to exit polls, 44.8 million Republicans showed up to vote in 2004 while only 41.4 million did in 2008. Almost all those 3.4 million Republicans who stayed home have been energized by Mr. Obama's agenda and are now eager to vote against him. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303343404577518990180932640.html?mod=WSJ_Opinion_LEADTop

Wealthy Americans earn about 50 percent of all income but pay nearly 70 percent of the federal tax burden, according to the latest analysis Tuesday by the Congressional Budget Office — though the agency said the very richest have seen their share of taxes fall the past few years.
CBO looked at 2007 through 2009 — the latest years data are available, but enough to include the early effects of the last recession — and found the bottom 20 percent of American earners paid just three-tenths of a percent of the total federal tax burden, while the richest 20 percent paid 67.9 percent of taxes.
The top 1 percent, whom President Obama has made a target during the presidential campaign, earned 13.4 percent of all pre-tax income but paid 22.3 percent of taxes in 2009, CBO said. When tax burden is figured in, the top 1 percent took in only 11.5 percent of income. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/jul/10/cbo-rich-pay-outsized-share-taxes/

Today many of the pilots at Holloman never get off the ground. The base has been converted into the U.S. Air Force’s primary training center for drone operators, where pilots spend their days in sand-colored trailers near a runway from which their planes take off without them. Inside each trailer, a pilot flies his plane from a padded chair, using a joystick and throttle, as his partner, the “sensor operator,” focuses on the grainy images moving across a video screen, directing missiles to their targets with a laser.
Holloman sits on almost 60,000 acres of desert badlands, near jagged hills that are frosted with snow for several months of the year — a perfect training ground for pilots who will fly Predators and Reapers over the similarly hostile terrain of Afghanistan. When I visited the base earlier this year with a small group of reporters, we were taken into a command post where a large flat-screen television was broadcasting a video feed from a drone flying overhead. It took a few seconds to figure out exactly what we were looking at. A white S.U.V. traveling along a highway adjacent to the base came into the cross hairs in the center of the screen and was tracked as it headed south along the desert road. When the S.U.V. drove out of the picture, the drone began following another car.
“Wait, you guys practice tracking enemies by using civilian cars?” a reporter asked. One Air Force officer responded that this was only a training mission, and then the group was quickly hustled out of the room. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/08/magazine/the-drone-zone.html?_r=2&pagewanted=all

The Utah Garden Challenge is a voluntary contest to register 10,000 gardens. The data mining project has a broad interest in any “resource” who is growing food:
Whether you grow a tomato in a pot, a row in a community garden, have backyard gardens, a CSA or working fruit and vegetable farm, we want to hear from you because you are an important resource as a food producer.
While the contest paints a proud face on independent food production, it is important to remember that registering with the government sets up a system to track, tax, permit or confiscate the registered item. Gun ownership is a good example of this scheme.
According to a pop-up window on the official website, participants’ gardens will be registered with the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS):

Another lie from the Obama administration has been exposed,” said Charles Benninghoff,Publisher of American Patriot. “Based on the evidence that was provided to us,we now know that many American workers are already being impacted negatively by Obamacare.”
Among the evidence that American Patriot has published, the source’s employer asked for an exemption from Obamacare until 2013 in order to avoid providing $1.25 million in coverage for every worker. Once the exemption was granted, the employee benefits were reduced to just 10 percent of what was originally provided.
“Our source and other Americans with health problems now have to make a painful choice,” said Benninghoff. “They can either find their own coverage, which will be even more expensive,or go on the government-run Obamacare scheme. Most Americans don’t want to opt for a government program, but they’re being forced into it – which was the plan of the Obama administration all along.” http://www.exposeobama.com/2012/07/10/whistleblower-tells-american-patriot-that-obamacare-destroys-health-coverage/

It was nearly midnight when Stern and Hess, a film-industry prop master, headed home last July from Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night’s Swing. As they waited for the train, a musician started playing steel drums on the nearly empty platform and Stern and Hess began to feel the beat.
“We were doing the Charleston,” Stern said. That’s when two police officers approached and pulled a “Footloose.”
“They said, ‘What are you doing?’ and we said, ‘We’re dancing,’ ” she recalled. “And they said, ‘You can’t do that on the platform.’ ”
The cops asked for ID, but when Stern could only produce a credit card, the officers ordered the couple to go with them — even though the credit card had the dentist’s picture and signature.
When the couple tried to film the order, Stern says the officers called for backup.
“That’s when eight ninja cops came from out of nowhere,” she said.  Her boyfriend was allegedly tackled to the floor, and then both were handcuffed.
The initial charge was reportedly disorderly conduct for “impeding the flow of traffic,” but Stern argued that “there were like, three people [on the platform].”

An interview with George Obama, who lives in a hut in Kenya "like something out of 'Slumdog Millionaire'" is featured in the upcoming movie "2016: Obama's America."

Barack Obama’s half-brother, George Obama, is about to make his film debut, and in a feature-length documentary that is critical of the president, no less.

Taxing the middle class; More go on disability than got jobs; DNC Chair pretty happy with jobs numbers; Another reason to vote Republican; Supreme Court on union dues; Obama outsources stimulus funds; FL lifeguard offered his job back; The naked contempt of Obama; Horrifying MI testing scores; MI limits government takeover of more land; Russian bombers in our airspace once again; Republican governors have lower unemployment; Public school workers doubled while students increased 8.5%; The farm bill is food stamps

The president announced today that he favors a one-year extension of the Bush tax cuts for families making less than $250,000 a year — and a tax hike for millions of others. Considering the persistently bad employment, manufacturing, and growth numbers, maybe the president should take a trip down memory lane to 2009, when he said “you don’t raise taxes in a recession.” [This falls into the category of knowing that whenever you see his lips moving, he is lying. Did you know that in the month of June MORE AMERICAN PEOPLE WENT ON DISABILITY THAN FOUND JOBS?    Do you realize that our "poor" citizens mostly have cell phones, cars, tv, air-conditioning, free food, etc.?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
However, Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) was far more optimistic, saying she was “pretty happy” about the latest jobs numbers.
The president hailed the June jobs data as “a step in the right direction.” Republicans slammed Obama’s choice of words, saying it recalled his recent assertion that “the private sector is doing fine,” despite myriad indications to the contrary.
The president told supporters in Pittsburgh that under his leadership, “we’ve started to see manufacturing come back to our shores.”
However, just last week, the Institute for Supply Management’s reported that U.S. manufacturing activity contracted for the first time in three years. http://freebeacon.com/the-fail-bus/

Many conservatives are angry with Chief Justice John Roberts, whose decisive vote in late June not only sustained a disastrous health-care law. It also interpreted the Constitution to permit Congress to penalize behavior through its taxing power that it cannot control through its power to regulate commerce.
All of this underscores that in terms of lasting importance, the power to control Supreme Court nominations is the grand prize in the coming presidential election. Long after Barack Obama and Mitt Romney fade in our memories, the Supreme Court justices one of them appoints will still be rendering the rulings that determine the future course of our nation. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304141204577509250108648814.html?mod=WSJ_Opinion_LEADTop

The U.S. Supreme Court, in a hat tip to common sense, decided yesterday that nonunion members can opt out of union fees that are targeted towards political purposes.
“Labor unions must give nonmember workers ‘fresh notice’ of unplanned increases in fees or assessments -- money that might be used for political purposes -- the Supreme Court ruled Thursday,” according to CNN.
For labor unions around the country, it serves as a painful reminder that when they decided to go all-in for Obama in 2008, they alienated the rest of us non-government, non-union members- the 99 Percent- who have to go out and earn our keep every day. And that alienation is being felt in political defeats by unions around the country.   http://finance.townhall.com/columnists/johnransom/2012/07/10/hey_unions_welcome_to_politics_watch_that_bloody_nose/page/full/

Republicans are looking to flip the script on President Obama's frequent charges that Mitt Romney supported the outsourcing of American jobs with a new push Tuesday to highlight instances that stimulus dollars helped companies create jobs overseas.

At an event in Iowa on Tuesday, RNC chairman Reince Priebus will debut a new website — ObamanomicsOutsourced.com — that features companies that received stimulus dollars and opened factories in foreign countries. Among the examples: a solar panel factory in Mexico, windmills in Denmark, and a battery manufacturer in South Korea.

HALLANDALE BEACH (CBSMiami) – Lifeguard Tomas Lopez’s journey this week has been all over the map. He went from being hailed for helping save a life, to being fired for leaving his beach, to being offered his job back.

"That's it," I thought: contempt.  Never have we seen a president so full of naked contempt for any person or idea or policy that does not accord with his own vision, plans, and beliefs.  Obama doesn't just disagree with others; he holds them in contempt.
Obama has shown contempt for American friends and allies.  He insulted the Czechs and Poles when he unilaterally and without warning repudiated our missile defense agreements with them.  His contemptuous snubs and denigrations of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu are notorious.  He recently showed contempt for the British by refusing to say he would recognize Britain's claim to sovereignty over the Falkland Islands, even if the Falklands' residents voted for British sovereignty in a plebiscite.  And just as Jimmy Carter ensured the shah's departure by rejecting him, so Obama paved the way for the Muslim Brotherhood's rise to power in Egypt by snubbing, ignoring, and abandoning a flawed ally rather than work with him to encourage reforms.
The president has shown his contempt for American voters in various ways, from whispering to Russian leader Medvedev that he will be able to concede more to Putin after he wins re-election to having the Justice Department fight state voter ID laws to decreeing that illegal immigrants be given work permits that will lead to driver's licenses that will lead to illegals being registered to vote under various "motor voter" statutes. [The latest school exam results for Michigan are devastating!    Those passing various subjects are as follows, according to the Petoskey News Review:
Science   26%
Social Studies 41%
Writing 49%
Reading 56%
Math 29%
This leaves, according to the paper few high school juniors who are "college ready"
Average ACT scores, out of a possible 36 are:
Boyne City: 20.10
Charlevoix: 20.1
East Jordan: 18.8
Petoskey: 21.2
State Average: 19.6
At nearly 80 Michigan schools, NONE of the students were considered to be college ready.  How does that reflect on our Department of Education, Teachers and their unions, and parents of the students?
I also wish to ask members of public unions what they think about THEIR  union dues going for the purchase of fancy resorts which are used for junkets for the union leaders?  Do they get to go to "their" resorts?

Two Russian strategic nuclear bombers entered the U.S. air defense zone near the Pacific coast on Wednesday [July 4] and were met by U.S. interceptor jets, defense officials told the Free Beacon.
It was the second time Moscow dispatched nuclear-capable bombers into the 200-mile zone surrounding U.S. territory in the past two weeks.
An earlier intrusion by two Tu-95 Bear H bombers took place near Alaska as part of arctic war games that a Russian military spokesman said included simulated attacks on “enemy” air defenses and strategic facilities.
A defense official said the Pacific coast intrusion came close to the U.S. coast but did not enter the 12-mile area that the U.S. military considers sovereign airspace. http://freebeacon.com/putins-

President Obama said last month that America can educate its way to prosperity if Congress sends money to states to prevent public school layoffs and "rehire even more teachers."Since 1970, the public school workforce has roughly doubled—to 6.4 million from 3.3 million—and two-thirds of those new hires are teachers or teachers' aides. Over the same period, enrollment rose by a tepid 8.5%. Employment has thus grown 11 times faster than enrollment. If we returned to the student-to-staff ratio of 1970, American taxpayers would save about $210 billion annually in personnel costs. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303734204577465413553320588.html?mod=googlenews_wsj

  • A Circuit Court has decided that Florida election law applies to everyone but Barack Hussein Obama. In response to a suit brought by Florida resident and Democrat Party member Michael Voeltz challenging Obama’s eligibility to the Florida ballot, Circuit Court Judge Terry Lewis ruled that Florida election law “…is not applicable to the nomination of a candidate for Office of President of the United States.”  This means that the Florida Statute which says, “the… nomination of any person to office…may be contested in the circuit court…by any elector or any taxpayer…” is null and void when it comes to Mr. Obama’s nomination to the presidency.
“If the plaintiff was challenging the candidate’s eligibility for any other office, his analysis would be correct and [the law] would apply,” said Lewis of Voeltz’s suit. However, according to the Judge, “…Political parties determine their [presidential] nominee at a national convention pursuant to rules that the parties draft and approve…”  In short, Mr. Voeltz’s contest of Barack Obama’s eligibility will NEVER be permitted in a Florida court; for voters do not nominate the president, political parties do in balloon filled convention halls! With this ruling, Lewis has spared Barack Obama the necessity of having to prove his eligibility for office as no Florida voter will have the right to question it, the language of the state’s election law notwithstanding! http://www.westernjournalism.com/outrageous-judge-decides-law-doesnt-apply-to-obama/

Now that conservatives and libertarians are beginning to recover from the injuries they sustained by banging their heads against walls, desks, and other hard objects on June 28, perhaps it's a good time to introduce a ray of hope that might have seemed absurdly Pollyannaish during the dark hours immediately following the Supreme Court's surreal Obamacare ruling. Although the voters can put an end to the madness on November 6, the states don't need to wait until Election Day to take aim at a point of vulnerability that remains in place despite the Court's latest caprice. They can refuse to implement the law's insurance exchanges.
Well, as the Cato Institute's Michael Cannon succinctly puts it, "Without these bureaucracies, Obamacare cannot work." And, oddly enough, the law doesn't actually require states to set up these "marketplaces." Moreover, there is no rational incentive for them to do so. If a state sets up an exchange, it then must pay for it, which won't be cheap. Cannon writes, "States that opt to create an exchange can expect to pay anywhere from $10 million to $100 million per year to run it." This is a burden that the states, most of which are already in deep financial trouble, are not likely to embrace with enthusiasm.  [To read of the seven states which have refused to set up insurance exchanges, read here:]  http://spectator.org/archives/2012/07/09/the-states-can-still-kill-obam

Despite claiming Obamacare was “not a tax,” Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that the Internal Revenue Service would be the “easiest enforcer” of penalties against those who refuse to comply with the new health care law.
“The way we usually think of taxation, Wolf, is that taxation as the IRS administers is collected on broad swaths and large categories of individuals,” Wasserman Schultz said. “This is a penalty that will be assessed on the tax return if you choose to roll the dice and make us all pay for your being irresponsible and increase all of our health care costs.”
“We’re not going to tolerate that any more in America. You have to be responsible and you have to pay a penalty if you choose not to be,” she added.
However, that could only mark the beginning of a massive expansion of the IRS as a result of Obamacare. Back in 2010 it was reported that as many as 16,500 extra armed IRS agents were being hired to harass Americans into complying with the new mandates.
Congressman Ron Paul responded by asking why so many armed agents were required to enforce a law that the Obama administration has promoted as beneficial to the American people.
“16,500 armed bureaucrats coming to make this program work – if it was a good program and everybody liked it, you wouldn’t need 16,500 thugs coming with their guns and putting you in jail if you didn’t follow all the rules,” said Paul.

Voters could get the right to overrule federal laws and mandates under the terms of an initiative filed late Thursday. The Arizona Constitution already says the federal Constitution "is the supreme law of the land." This measure, if approved in November, it would add language saying that federal document may not be violated by any government -- including the federal government.
More to the point, it would allow Arizonans "to reject any federal action that they determine violates the United States Constitution."
That could occur through a vote of the state House and Senate with consent of the governor.
But that also could occur through a popular vote on a ballot measure, effectively allowing voters to decide which federal laws they feel infringe on Arizona's rights as a sovereign state.
