While taking calls from left wing bloggers, President Obama was asked if it is true that Section 102 of the House HealthCare
Bill would outlaw private insurance. He asked if people will be able to keep their insurance. Obama replied: “You know, I have to say that I am not familiar with the provision you are talking about.” [But still he asks us to put aside our concerns and just get this bill passed...]

Page 425 is where the Congress would make it mandatory that every five years people in Medicare have a required "counseling session", where they will be able to tell seniors how to end their life sooner." Well, that is, except for the old people in Congress or working for the government, for they get to keep their private insurance.....

The proposal specifically calls for the consultation to recommend "palliative care and hospice" for seniors in their mandatory counseling sessions. Palliative care and hospice generally focus only on pain relief until death.

The measure requires "an explanation by the practitioner of the continuum of end-of-life services and supports available, including palliative care and hospice, and benefits for such services and supports that are available under this title." The use of "helpful" documents such as advance directives and a health care proxy would be explained.

In an article in the Wall Street Journal it is noted that Obama's Congressional Budget Office Director Peter Orszag sent a letter to Capitol Hill which asks for the creation of yet another new agency, this one with the power to cut spending and implement changes in Medicare.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When House Republicans recently wrote a constituency letter which states that ‘House Democrats unveiled a government-run health care plan,’”, the Franking Commission , which determines which letters can be sent to constituents on the tax payer dime, ordained that ‘You cannot use that language. You must use, ‘The House majority unveiled a public option health care plan,’or ‘just last week the House majority unveiled a health care plan which I believe will cost taxpayers…’” This surely seems to me to be a free speech issue, which used to be guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States. It leaves one to wonder what restraints are being put on supposed misstatements by the Democrats in their constituent letters. My guess is -none- as it should be.... Republicans will be forced to use the Democrats’ version of language describing their attempted government takeover of healthcare on their official communications with their constituents or they will have to pay for the postage personally.

Excerpted from Matt Barber of Townhall: The president has more "czars" running around than Mother Russia. It's mondo bizarro. Kind of fitting, though; must be a communist thing. Obama has chosen Harvard professor John Holdren as "science czar" providing the latest example of just how bad America really muffed it last November. It could give us a sneak-peak into the not-so-distant future should this Obamacare-health-scare become reality.

In the name of population control, Holdren has advocated both forced abortion and compulsory sterilization through government-administered tainting of the water supply. In a book he co-authored, entitled "Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment," Holdren calls for a "Planetary Regime" to enforce mandatory abortions and limit the use of natural resources.

He writes: "There exists ample authority under which population growth could be regulated. It has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society." [To which I add that this will become one of Obama's "Major Crisis Moments"]

Holdren further suggests that since "[a]dding a sterilant to drinking water or staple foods is a suggestion that seems to horrify people more than most proposals for involuntary fertility control," such an approach would have to "meet some rather stiff requirements; … be uniformly effective; … free of dangerous or unpleasant side effects;" and pass both PETA and AARP muster by having "no effect on members of the opposite sex, children, old people, pets, or livestock."

Czar Holdren further postulates that "a comprehensive Planetary Regime could control the development, administration, conservation, and distribution of all natural resources, renewable or nonrenewable. The Planetary Regime might be given responsibility for determining the optimum population for the world and for each region and for arbitrating various countries' shares within their regional limits."

[I know, I know - some will say that this man wrote this book in the 70's and that just because he was so intent on the ideas that he wrote a book chronicling it does not mean that this is how he will ACT during his Czarship. Right..... of course not. Well, only if he feels he can get away with it! It is yet another example of the sorts of people whom Obama chooses to lead our country, this time via a Czar with no Congressional oversite - RADICAL people with RADICAL, hate-America ideas...] I must read 1984

As President Barack Obama's health-care push enters a critical phase, senior Democrats in Congress are scrambling to keep their own party members on board. Democrats are considering scaling back proposed taxes on the rich, reconsidering taxing employer health benefits, and possibly trimming the total cost of the package to make subsidies for the uninsured less generous than advocates have sought.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From Fox News: A key House committee on Tuesday indefinitely postponed voting on health care reform legislation, after Democratic leaders were unable to line up enough votes from moderate members of their own party. The House Energy and Commerce Committee canceled the session as it faced serious concerns about the legislation from fiscally conservative Blue Dog Democrats, who hold a large number of seats on the panel.

Why is that man that sits illegally in the Oval Office spending OUR tax dollars to give 12 million (at least) illegal aliens free health insurance? Who does he really think he is; the health fairy? Who told him he could spend all these taxpayers’ dollars on people who broke the law to sneak into this country instead of waiting their turn like the good people of Europe and other countries who wait their turn on our standard immigration lists

From Joseph Curl of the Washington Times:

President Obama on Monday extended by six months a task force charged with determining how terrorism suspects should be interrogated, held in custody or handed over to other countries, putting in jeopardy his promise to close the military detention facility at the U.S. Naval Base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, by January.

The move came on the same day the president pushed back the release of a congressionally mandated report on the nation's economic conditions, and the White House began to extend a self-imposed deadline for overhauling the nation's health care system.

Pushing back the deadline on how to handle 229 Gitmo detainees, among them five suspects in the Sept. 11 attacks, including accused mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, illustrates just how complicated it is to solve the campaign issue that Mr. Obama this month called "one of the biggest challenges of my administration." [Perhaps our President has once again shown his "empty suit" status as well as his pandering to his left-wing fanatics by suggesting a closing of Gitmo in the first place. It is a good sign that he is capable of learning the hard, cold facts of war.]

From Reuters: North Korea, bristling at being described by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as behaving like an unruly child, responded in kind Thursday, calling her vulgar and less then clever.

Clinton is in Thailand for a major regional security meeting where she is urging governments to keep pressing North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons program and enforce sanctions against the reclusive state.

"She has made a spate of vulgar remarks unbecoming for her position everywhere she went since she was sworn in," North Korea's KCNA news agency quoted a foreign ministry spokesman as saying.

It said her comments earlier in the week that North Korean behavior such as a recent spate of missile launches was like an unruly child demanding attention "suggests she is by no means intelligent."

From Congress Daily: Senator Grassley said he spoke with a Democratic House member last week who shared Obama's bleak reaction during a private meeting to reports that some factions of House Democrats were lining up to stall or even take down the [healthcare] overhaul unless leaders made major changes.

"Let's just lay everything on the table," Grassley said. "A Democrat congressman last week told me after a conversation with the president that the president had trouble in the House of Representatives, and it wasn't going to pass if there weren't some changes made ... and the president says, 'You're going to destroy my presidency.' "

The White House did not respond to requests for comment.

In the realm of too outrageous to even believe, except it's true: The Hill reports: The chairman of the Senate Democratic Policy Committee quashed an effort by the Treasury Department to hire a cartoonist. Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.) contacted the Treasury Department to complain after Matt Drudge’s website linked to a want ad for contractors with the “ability to create cartoons on the spot about [Bureau of the Public Debt] jobs.”
And while we are talking about ourtageous statements, here's another good one!
Vice President Joe Biden (CNSNews.com) – Vice President Joe Biden told people attending an AARP town hall meeting that unless the Democrat-supported health care plan becomes law the nation will go bankrupt and that the only way to avoid that fate is for the government to spend more money.

“And folks look, AARP knows and the people with me here today know, the president knows, and I know, that the status quo is simply not acceptable,” Biden said at the event on Thursday in Alexandria, Va. “It’s totally unacceptable. And it’s completely unsustainable. Even if we wanted to keep it the way we have it now. It can’t do it financially.”

“We’re going to go bankrupt as a nation,” Biden said.

“Now, people when I say that look at me and say, ‘What are you talking about, Joe? You’re telling me we have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt?’” Biden said. “The answer is yes, that's what I’m telling you.” [To which I say that it's almost unbelievable that the same government whose President is suggesting that if one is OLD, one must just deal with it so as not to overburden the system with demands for care can with a straight face promote their elderly-unfriendly agenda to the elderly themselves!]

FRom It Takes Work To Feel This Good Blog:
The {healthcare} bill also provides for the creation of a new federal bureaucracy called the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology. This agency will monitor your medical treatments to ensure that your physician is only providing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The underlying intent is to cut health care costs by “guiding” your doctor’s decisions around treatment.

According to Tom Daschle, reform of the health care system will “not be pain free”. He alludes to the fact that senior citizens should accept the onset of age related conditions instead of seeking treatment for them. Currently, Medicare pays for treatment deemed effective and safe. The stimulus bill provision will change that and implement a cost-effectiveness factor into the treatment options to be offered. In other words, Medicare will no longer cover many of the treatments currently being prescribed to our parents and grandparents. And who determines these cost-effectiveness standards? Another new federal agency called the Federal Council.

From Frugal Cafe Blog Zone: The Bureau of Public Debt, part of the US Treasury Department, decided to hire its own CARTOONIST to create amusing cartoons to “lighten up” work place meetings and make Americans forget that they are losing their jobs, losing their homes, facing skyrocketing taxes and rising Federal debt, paying for a non-stimulus package that has been wasted and given to political cronies, and can barely put food on the table. [ This is a perfect illustration of the fact that empty suits fill many jobs in our government!]

Not in my words, but important to know: Protesters gathered outside a Chicago area hotel Sunday as an Islamic extremist group reportedly linked to Al Qaeda held its first official conference on U.S. soil in an attempt to step up Western recruitment efforts.

Members of Hizb ut-Tahrir — a global Sunni network with reported ties to confessed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Al Qaeda in Iraq's onetime leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi — met Sunday inside a Hilton hotel to host a conference, "The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of Islam."

Hizb ut-Tahrir insists that it does not engage in terrorism, and it is not recognized by the State Department as a known terror group.

But some terrorism experts say it may be even more dangerous than many groups that are on the terror list.

"Hizb ut-Tahrir is one of the oldest, largest indoctrinating organizations for the ideology known as jihadism," Walid Phares, director of the Future of Terrorism Project at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told FOXNews.com.

Phares said that Hizb ut-Tahrir, rather than training members to carry out terrorist acts like Al Qaeda, focuses instead on indoctrinating youths between ages of 9 and 18 to absorb the ideology that calls for the formation of an empire — or "khilafah" — that will rule according to Islamic law and condones any means to achieve it, including militant jihad. Hizb ut-Tahrir often says that it's indoctrination "prepares the infantry that groups like Al Qaeda take into battle.
