*The federal government has closed a criminal probe into Arizona
lawman Joe Arpaio, who styles himself as "America's toughest sheriff,"
and no charges will be filed, the U.S. Attorney's Office said on
Friday.
The Maricopa County sheriff and his deputies have been under investigation by the U.S. Justice Department since 2008.
Last December, the department said he and his office violated U.S.
civil rights laws by engaging in racial profiling of Latinos and making
unlawful arrests in their bid to crack down on illegal immigrants.
[So how many taxpayer dollars were spent in this politically motivated investigation?]
Arpaio is also known for outfitting county jail inmates in pink
underwear, claiming the pink shorts are less likely to be smuggled out
of jail and sold on the black market, and for housing inmates in a
Tent City jail in Phoenix, even when Sonoran Desert summer temperatures
soar to 115 degrees.

President Barack Obama was a pioneering contributor to the national
subprime real estate bubble, and roughly half of the 186
African-American clients in his landmark 1995 mortgage discrimination
lawsuit against Citibank have since gone bankrupt or received
foreclosure notices.
As few as 19 of those 186 clients still own homes with clean credit
ratings, following a decade in which Obama and other progressives pushed
banks to provide mortgages to poor African Americans.
The startling failure rate among Obama’s private sector clients was discovered during The Daily Caller’s review of
previously unpublished court information from the lawsuit that a young Obama helmed as the lead plaintiff’s attorney.

Nikki Haley, Governor of S. Carolina said at the RNC: And, sadly, the hardest part of my job continues to be this federal government, this administration, this president.
As
I said, my parents loved that when they came to America, if you worked
hard, the only things that could stop you were the limits you placed on
yourself. Unfortunately, these past few years, you can work hard, try to
be as successful as possible, follow the rules, and President Barack
Obama will do everything he can to stand in your way.
South
Carolina recently passed one of the most innovative illegal immigration
laws in the country. What did this president - who has failed to secure
our borders and address this issue in any meaningful way - do? He sued
us.
If this President refuses to secure our borders, refuses to
protect our citizens from the dangers of illegal immigration, then
states have an obligation to take it on ourselves.
We said in South Carolina that if you have to show a picture ID to buy
Sudafed and you have to show a picture ID to set foot on an airplane,
then you should have to show a picture ID to protect one of the most
valuable, most central, most sacred rights we are blessed with in
America - the right to vote.
And what did President Obama and his National Labor Relations Board do?
They sued this iconic American company [Boeing]. It was shameful. And not worthy
of the promise of America.
And what happened? President Obama stopped us. https://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#inbox/1397020d13d3622b

Some of you may know, the last time I [former campaign director to Obama, the black Artur Davis] spoke at a convention, it turned out I was in the wrong
We have a country to turn around. This week you will nominate the most experienced executive
to seek the presidency in 60 years in Mitt Romney.
He has no illusions about what makes America great, and he doesn't confuse the presidency with
celebrity, or loftiness with leadership.
Now, America is a land of second chances, and I gather you have room for the estimated 6
million of us who know we got it wrong in 2008 and who want to fix it.
Maybe we should have known that night in Denver that things that begin with plywood Greek
columns and artificial smoke typically don't end well. http://campaigntrailreport.com/2012/08/28/rep-artur-davis-gop-convention-speech-video

That’s weird?
Back on Monday the Obama Campaign listed an “Islamic Jumah at the DNC” as an “
official function” at the DNC convention in Charlotte next week.
But now
it’s gone.
Gerard Direct has more on the disappearing Jumah:
Earlier this week, we posted an article about the DNC
sponsoring, as an “official event” JUMAH at the DNC (watch the
promotional video here).
Florida Family Association sent out an email alert on August 29, 2012 which reported the following two sub headlines:
“DNC approves Jumah for 20,000 Muslims.” “RNC adopts anti-Sharia plank at convention.”

A federal court on Thursday blocked a controversial new voter ID law
in Texas, ruling that
the state failed to show that the law would not
harm the voting rights of minorities.
The three-judge panel in
the historic case said that evidence also showed that costs of obtaining
a voter ID would fall most heavily on poor African Americans and
Hispanics in Texas.
Evidence submitted by Texas to prove that its
law did not discriminate was “unpersuasive, invalid, or both,” wrote
David. S. Tatel, a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District
of Columbia, in the panel’s 56-page opinion.
The ruling will
likely have political implications in the coming elections. Republicans
and Democrats have been arguing over whether increasingly tough voter ID
laws discriminate against African Americans and Hispanics.
Texas Attorney General Gregg Abbott said that the state will appeal
Thursday’s ruling to the Supreme Court, which is the next stop in a
voting rights case.
[So we have a federal court who believes as Harry
Reid does, that one must prove a negative. Welcome to Obama's
America. There is no attempt to help them get registered nor to help
pay for it, just to be sure that ANYONE can vote.] https://apps.facebook.com/wpsocialreader/me/channels/read/content/vG5Np?utm_source=redirect&utm_medium=headline&utm_campaign=gen_redirect&denyRedirect=http%3A%2F%2Fwpsocialreader.washingtonpost.com%2Ffbwapolabs%2Fme%2Fredirect%2Fwww.washingtonpost.com%2Fworld%2Fnational-security%2Ftexas-voter-id-law-struck-down%2F2012%2F08%2F30%2F4a07e270-f2ad-11e1-adc6-87dfa8eff430_story.html%3Fsocialreader_check%3D0%26denied%3D1

Dems Giving Away Tickets to Obama's Speech
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The great Thomas Sowell: After reading Barack Obama's book "Dreams from My Father," it became
painfully clear that he has not been searching for the truth, because he
assumed from an early age that he had already found the truth — and now
it was just a question of filling in the details and deciding how to
change things.
Obama did not simply happen to encounter a lot of people on the far-left fringe during his life.
As he spells out in his book, he actively sought out such people.
There is no hint of the slightest curiosity on his part about other
visions of the world that might be weighed against the vision he had
seized upon.
His statement in "Dreams from My Father" about how white men went to
Africa to "drag away the conquered in chains" betrays his ignorance of
African history.
During the era of the Atlantic slave trade, most of Africa was ruled by Africans, who sold some of their slaves to white men.
But there was
also no reason for him to be shooting off his mouth without knowing what
he was talking about.

President Barack Obama was greeted with fleeting applause and
extended periods of silence as he offered profuse praise to soldiers and
their families during an Aug. 31 speech in Fort Bliss, Texas.
His praise for the soldiers — and for his own national-security
policies — won cheers from only a small proportion of the soldiers and
families in the cavernous aircraft-hanger.
The audience remains quiet even when the commander-in-chief thanked
the soldiers’ families, and cited the 198 deaths of their comrades in
Iraq and Afghanistan.
The audience’s reaction was so flat that the president tried twice to elicit a reaction from the crowd.
“Hey, I hear you,” he said amid silence.
The selected soldiers who were arrayed behind the president sat quietly throughout the speech.
CNN and MSNBC ended their coverage of the speech before it was half-over.
The silence deepened when the president lauded his strategy of
withdrawal from the war. “Make no mistake, ending the wars responsibly
makes us safer and our military even stronger, and ending these wars is
letting us do something else; restoring American leadership,” he said
amid complete silence.
When he said demobilized soldiers would find jobs because “all of you have the skills America needs,” he got little reaction.

Just hours after a producer for deranged MSNBC host Chris Matthews was accused of
physically assaulting Republicans
outside the party’s national convention last night, Matthews himself
has admitted to verbally confronting several GOP delegates at a
restaurant in Tampa, Florida calling them a “douchebag convention.”
According to The Hill newspaper, the perpetually angry liberal
television host confronted the delegates early Friday morning following
taunting questions they asked about whether he felt “thrilled” following
GOP nominee Mitt Romney’s acceptance speech.

The
Tampa Bay Times reported that protesters who made it to Tampa were just as surprised as anyone else that their turnout was so anemic
But by Wednesday, after several days of marches — permitted
and unpermitted — police had arrested exactly three people. The largest
demonstration drew 500 protesters at most — far fewer than the 10,000
some had predicted would swarm the city.
"Where are all the protesters? Where are our supporters?" wrote ResistRNC.org on its website Wednesday.

Did you know that the Harvard Law Review produced a pamphlet including a bio of Barack Obama - born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii? Even snopes says it is true, but that the man who wrote it make a "mistake" which no one ever corrected... Right. See for yourself.

In the US, journalists are sacrificing editorial independence in
exchange for access to top politicians. The practice has a long history
in Germany, where interviews often must be authorized before
publication.
Quotes gleaned from administration officials by a reporter are not just
reviewed by the publication's editor, they are often sent to the very
same officials for approval - and even redaction - before going to
print. Notice the origin of this article: Germany's Deutsche Welle.

The Navy SEALs who killed Osama bin Laden on May 2, 2011, learned from
ABC News that they had “gazelle legs, no waist, and a huge upper body
configuration,” not to mention calloused hands and gigantic egos. They
learned from other American news sources that they had taken part in a
45-minute firefight and that an armed bin Laden, once cornered, had
tried to defend himself in his final moments, staring straight at the
fighters who would shoot him. Their raid was being turned into a bad
action movie.
These distortions seemed funny at first.
The worst it has to say about President Obama is that none of the
fighters who caught bin Laden wanted to help re-elect him, and that he
never followed through on a promise to invite them to the White House
for a beer. Read the rest of this book review at

[If you want to smile, go to this website which promotes our new national holiday - empty chair day, which replaces Labor Day since there are no jobs. Americans are long on humor, and these are good.] One comment: From Allen in Lexington, KY, who writes, “Prof Jacobson, what better way
to hold Labor Day, for the 23 million unemployed under Obama. …thank
you Mr. Eastwood, it took a day or two for most to understand, but your
demonstration will be remembered for years!”
