It boils down to this: If the court sides with the president and upholds Obamacare, then more than 200 years of “We the People” ends. A new era opens in which, increasingly, we mere people must do as we’re told, or pay whatever penalty The Government will extract from us. That starts with forcing Catholic institutions to provide employees with health insurance that covers, for free, contraception, sterilization and abortion against the religion’s core moral beliefs.
The government “of the people, by the people, for the people” that Abe Lincoln admired, will be turned upside down, and eventually we’ll have The Government that will “shove the people, bite the people and force the people” to do whatever The Government wants.
Tomorrow, as the Supreme Court ponders Obamacare, the Obama Administration reportedly has arranged for demonstrations that, according to The Wall Street Journal, include a “‘prayerful witness’ encircling the Supreme Court.” It didn’t say whether the prayers would be led by Obama’s old friend, the Rev. Jeremiah “God Damn America” Wright.
By what stretch of the imagination does the Executive Branch of our government rightfully surround the co-equal Judicial Branch’s headquarters with a partisan crowd sent to pressure the Judicial Branch to do the will of the Executive?

Monday: Anti Injunction Act (AIA): Very technical arguments expected on a key question that could punt this whole issue down the road 3-4 years. At issue is a federal law (the AIA) that says that courts can’t consider a challenge to a tax until that tax is actually assessed.
If the Supreme Court rules that the AIA applies to the health care law then no challenge to the individual mandate can be heard until after 2014, when it goes into effect, unless Congress acts. One appeals court in Richmond dismissed a challenge to the mandate based on the AIA, and one very conservative judge on the DC Court of Appeals came to the same conclusion in a dissenting opinion. Neither the challengers nor the government believe the AIA should apply, so the court hired a lawyer to argue a position that neither of the other parties would argue - that the challenge to the individual mandate is premature and can only be brought once it goes into effect in 2014.

Redstate notices differences: Early March in Kansas City Missouri, a 13 year old White boy was chased to his doorstep by two Black boys, who doused him with gasoline and lit him on fire, while yelling, “This is what you deserve, White boy.”
Unlike the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin situation, this attempted immolation of a 13 year old boy was CLEARLY motivated by racism on the part of the criminals.
Yet, this horrific story disappears down the memory-hole as soon as the media can dispense with it. The race-baiters have nothing to say about the racism involved. Jackson, Sharpton, Farrakhan, and Obama have nothing to say. No teachable moments here, apparently.

American Thinker opines: As a mother, my capacity for empathy does not stop at only those who physically resemble my children. Sadly, the president, who touts empathy as one of the most important qualifications for a Supreme Court justice, signals that his capacity for empathy does not extend to all American citizens, but is focused on those of African-American descent or Muslim heritage.
While there were all sorts of indications that Obama was entering office with personal biases, the first hint that these would play a role in his decisions as POTUS was when his Justice Department dropped the charges against the New Black Panthers charged with voter intimidation for swinging billy clubs at voting sites in 2008.

Fox News reports: The United States has paid $50,000 in compensation for each Afghan killed in the shooting spree attributed to a U.S. soldier in southern Afghanistan, an Afghan official and a community elder said Sunday.
The families of the dead received the money Saturday at the governor's office, said Kandahar provincial council member Agha Lalai. Each wounded person received $11,000, Lalai said. Community elder Jan Agha confirmed the same figures.
They were told that the money came from U.S. President Barack Obama, Lalai said. [This is not surprising during the its-all-about-me Presidency.]
