The Pharoh-like Visit to India

The UK Daily Mail opines: President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle arrived in India's commercial hub of Mumbai on Saturday, days after voters punished his Democrats in mid-term elections.
Probably not since the days of the Pharaohs or the more ludicrous Roman Emperors has a head of state travelled in such pomp and expensive grandeur as the President of the United States of America.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Hindustan Times opines: Indian politicians are known for making impromptu long speeches and perhaps that is why some parliament officials, who did not wish to be named, sounded rather surprised with the idea of a teleprompter for Obama.
"We thought Obama is a trained orator and skilled in the art of mass address with his continuous eye contact," an official, who did not wish to be identified because of security restrictions, said.
Obama is known to captivate audiences with his one-liners that sound like extempore and his deep gaze. But few in India know that the US president always carries the teleprompter with him wherever he speaks. http://www.hindustantimes.com/Obama-to-use-teleprompter-for-Hindi-speech/H1-Article1-622605.aspx

The Hindu writes: U.S. President Barack Obama on Sunday regretted that the “great religion” of Islam has been distorted by a few extremists to justify violence towards innocent people and called for isolating these elements.
Mr. Obama also said that people will have to fundamentally reject the notion that violence is the way to mediate differences among them.
“I think all of us have to fundamentally reject the notion that violence is the way to mediate our differences,” he added.
The US president expressed these views when a Muslim student A. Ansari lobbed a question asking for his views on ‘jihad” during his interaction with students of St Xavier’s college here.
“I think all of us recognise that this great religion (Islam) in the hands of a few extremists has been distorted to justify violence towards innocent people that is never justified,” he said. http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/article872701.ece

Daily New and Analysis of India writes: New Delhi: If wishes were horses, US President Barack Obama would like to take home some of the stately equines at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. (Snip) During his chit-chat with the President, the visiting dignitary praised the PBGs and said in a lighter vein that he wants to take home some camels and horses to the US, enough to bring smiles to the hosts, officials accompanying the VVIPs said. Obama, the sixth US President to visit India, could not let his eyes off the grandeur of Rashtrapati Bhavan and the ceremonial reception presented by the mounted cavalry. http://www.dnaindia.com/india/report_obama-wishes-to-take-some-indian-horses-and-camels-back-home_1463777
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
State visits by premiers are a reasonable barometer to gauge the goodwill and intensity of engagement between nations. Plotted on a graph, the Indo-US relationship, with the six presidential visits (including Obama’s next month), would look a bit like the run-rate ‘worm’ chart of a side batting in a one-day cricket match. A sedate yet solid start, followed by long periods of painfully slow scoring during the cold war, and some power-hitting in the slog overs.

In the five decades since independence, up until 2000, US presidents came to India only thrice. In just one decade since, there have been as many, signifying the growing strategic importance of the relationship.

No matter how good the backroom diplomacy is, it’s the chemistry between the two chief executives at the summit that makes or breaks deals. This was evident in the manner in which George Bush and Manmohan Singh inked the landmark civilian nuclear deal in 2006. While Bush was the first US President who well and truly de-hyphenated the country’s relationship with India and Pakistan, and is credited with changing the dynamics of Indo-US engagement, the expectations from Obama’s visit are coated with cautious optimism.

More than a year into office, Obama has sent mixed signals to India. His statements against outsourcing to destinations like India have unnerved the industry and his perceived kid-glove handling of Pakistan grates the strategic and diplomatic community.

But if the first-ever visit of a US President to India, that of Dwight D Eisenhower in 1959, was any indication, it was a start as good as any. Eisenhower spent almost a week in India, and from all accounts, his popularity was immense. “The visit was a huge success,” recalls K Natwar Singh, the former external affairs minister who has also been a high-ranking diplomat. “Unlike these days, there was no security. He travelled in an open car in Delhi, and there seemed to be a million people wherever he went. Most importantly, Nehru and Eisenhower got on very well.”

Eisenhower, a war hero, was hailed in India as the ‘Prince of Peace’. Wherever he went, Eisenhower was genuinely effusive in his praise and admiration for India. http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/politics/nation/US-presidential-visits-From-J-Bombs-To-N-Bombs/articleshow/6825815.cms

While lesser mortals – the Pope, Queen Elizabeth and so on – are usually happy to let their hosts handle most of the security and transport arrangements when they venture beyond their home shores, the United States creates a mini-America on the move to ensure that nothing is left to chance.

And more: To the amazement of the Indians accompanying the U.S. agents, it was apparently decided to erect a bomb-proof over-ground tunnel, which will be installed by U.S. military engineers in just an hour.
The kilometre-long tunnel will measure 12ft by 12ft and will have air-conditioning, close-circuit television cameras, and will be heavily guarded at every point.
It's being built so it is large enough for Mr Obama's cavalcade to pass through and will be manned at its entry and exit points.
The White House will be hoping to secure more than $10 billion in new business for American firms in what is the biggest trade mission in US history.
Mr Obama is bringing 250 U.S. executives including GE chief Jeffrey Immelt and Honeywell's David Cote, which the U.S. India Business Council says is the largest such delegation to ever accompany a president on a foreign visit.
The presidents of six universities, including Georgetown and Duke, are also set to come.
Last fiscal year, India's $11 billion worth of investments in the U.S. matched U.S. investments in India for the first time ever, according to the U.S. India Business Council.

Obama - Don't Shred Documents; No Sharia Law For Oklahoma; AARP Priorities; Saudi Prince On Moving NYC Mosque to a Better Location; American for Prosperity; Unions Hold 99ers Meeting; $8 Billion Lost in Iraq;

The Hill opines: Republicans are likely to urge the Obama administration not to shred documents as they transition to the House majority.

Before the election, GOP officials on Capitol Hill privately discussed the issue but refrained from publicly tackling it, not wanting to assume what would happen on Election Day.

Now that Republicans will control the House, the shredding matter will move front and center.

No one is accusing the Obama administration of destroying documents, but Republicans are expected to try to ensure that all records — on a range of issues — are kept intact.

Darrell West, a political scientist and director of governance studies at the Brookings Institution, said Republicans likely will formally ask the administration not to shred or delete any relevant documents that could be requested in a congressional probe.

“That’ll happen right away, because they want to make sure that the documentary record is preserved so that they have something to investigate,” said West.

Armed with the House majority, Republicans next year will enjoy subpoena power.  http://thehill.com/homenews/house/127457-gop-likely-to-urge-obama-officials-not-to-shred-documents
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From NewsOK:  Oklahoma voters have approved a measure that would forbid judges from considering international law or Islamic law when deciding cases.
Republican Rex Duncan, the sponsor of the measure, called it a "pre-emptive strike" designed to close the door on activist judges "legislating from the bench or using international law or Sharia law."
Members of the Muslim community called the question an attack on Islam and some of them said they are prepared to file a lawsuit challenging the measure.

Have you been wondering why the AARP is supporting Obamacare?  Consider this:  Obamacare will force 14 million people into regular Medicare (my Medicare Plus Blue was just eliminated, as one example).  That will move many seniors to use AARP's Medigap Insurance for coverage.  Always follow the money....

Yahoo reports from DUBAI, United Arab Emirates:  A Saudi prince who has aided the imam spearheading a proposed Islamic center near New York's ground zero says it would be better to shift to another site not associated with the Sept. 11 attacks. In an interview with the Dubai-based Arabian Business magazine, Prince Alwaleed bin Talal says moving the planned mosque and other facilities would respect the memory of the 2001 attacks and allow American Muslims to choose a better location. It is reportedly the prince's first public comments on the dispute. Want to know the most effective way to stop President Obama’s policies?  Just ask him.
President Obama has said over 18 times, that your grassroots efforts with Americans for Prosperity, are the most effective way to stop his big government agenda.
President Obama said:  "That's the biggest problem that we have all across the country right now.  We've got great candidates who are taking their case directly to the American people, but they are being drowned out by groups like Americans for Prosperity."

World Net Daily writes: The U.S. Department of Defense got more than $9 billion from the sale of Iraqi oil and other revenue streams to be used for reconstruction inside the war-damaged nation and spent it but now cannot document where $8.7 billion of those funds went, according to an inspector general's report published online.
The military's response in the report noted that the records probably exist, it's just that they're probably archived, and it might take a long time to track them down. http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=220189

The UK Telegraph wrote: US midterm elections: Barack Obama's world turned upside down as Democrats face electoral disaster

By abandoning his own rhetoric of bipartisanship, President Obama divided America and set the course for a heavy Democratic defeat in Tuesday's midterm elections, argues Toby Harnden.

The irony of Obama being the blue-state president is acute. Back in 2004, the then state senator shot to international attention by mocking the pundits who "like to slice and dice our country into red states and blue States".
He declared: "There's not a liberal America and a conservative America. There's the United States of America. There's not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America. There's the United States of America."
Central to Obama's appeal in 2008 was his pledge to change Washington and to reach across the political aisle to work with Republicans in a new era of bipartisanship and co-operation. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/8098632/US-midterm-elections-Barack-Obamas-world-turned-upside-down-as-Democrats-face-electoral-disaster.html

I checked this email out on Snopes, which says this did happen in 2009: The State of Sonora is angry at the influx of Mexicans into Mexico. Nine state legislators from the Mexican State of Sonora traveled to Tucson to complain about Arizona 'S new employer crackdown on illegals from Mexico. It seems that many Mexican illegals are returning to their hometowns and the officials in the Sonora state government are ticked off.

A delegation of nine state legislators from Sonora was in Tucson to state that Arizona's new Employer Sanctions Law will have a devastating effect on the Mexican state.  At a news conference, the legislators said that Sonora, - Arizona's southern neighbor - made up of mostly small towns - cannot handle the demand for housing, jobs and schools that it will face as Mexican workers return to their hometowns from the USA without jobs or money.

The Fed Printing of 600 Billion Dollars;Kasich and Ohio's High-speed Passenger Rail Project; Obamacare Repeal Votes; Disavow Clinton Impeachment During Lame Duck Session?

Yahoo News reports: Policymakers from the world's new economic powerhouses in Latin America and Asia pledged on Thursday to come up with fresh measures to curb capital inflows after the U.S. Federal Reserve said it would print billions of dollars to rescue its economy.
Emerging economies expressed displeasure at the Fed's move, making any substantive deal on global imbalances and currencies at next week's Group of 20 meeting in Seoul even less likely.
"As long as the world exercises no restraint in issuing global currencies such as the dollar -- and this is not easy -- then the occurrence of another crisis is inevitable, as quite a few wise Westerners lament," Xia Bin, an advisor to China's central bank wrote in a newspaper managed by the bank.
South Korea's Ministry of Finance and Strategy said it had sent "a message to the markets" on Thursday and would "aggressively" consider controls on capital flows, while Brazil's Foreign Trade Secretary said the Fed's move could cause "retaliatory measures." http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20101104/bs_nm/us_usa_fed_reaction
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bloomberg writes: Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke may have to renew his battle to preserve the central bank’s independence after Republican victories in yesterday’s congressional elections.
With Republicans reclaiming a majority in the House of Representatives and eroding Democrats’ hold on the Senate, Tea Party candidates who campaigned in part against the Fed get an opportunity to call Bernanke to task for taking part in the unpopular financial rescues that helped propel them to office.
“There’s certainly going to be more hearings and more pressure,” said Mark Calabria, a former Republican Senate Banking Committee aide who is now director of financial- regulation studies at the Cato Institute, a policy research group in Washington that favors free markets. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-11-03/bernanke-faces-more-congressional-scrutiny-after-republican-election-gains.html
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From the Wall Street Journal: Republicans Scott Walker of Wisconsin and John Kasich of Ohio, who won their races for governor Tuesday, both have sharply criticized the high-speed passenger-rail projects championed by President Barack Obama. Their victories cast doubt on high-profile projects in their states that were awarded hundreds of billions of dollars in federal stimulus funds.
In Ohio, Mr. Kasich has said the proposed $450 million train connecting Ohio's three major cities—Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati—would cost too much and run too slowly to be more convenient than driving or flying.
Wisconsin's Mr. Walker made opposing the train, which he deemed too expensive, a major part of his campaign. He has said he would like Congress to allow him to use the $810 million allocated to Wisconsin for a high-speed line between Madison and Milwaukee to repair the state's roads and bridges instead. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703509004575592950988005216.html?mod=WSJ_WSJ_US_News_5

Fox News reports: The Senate's Republican leader says congressional lawmakers can and should vote to repeal President Barack Obama's health care law, repeatedly if necessary. If Obama should veto laws repealing the health care overhaul, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says, the House should cancel funding for its programs. As for the Senate, he says that senators should vote against what he calls the law's "most egregious provisions." http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/11/04/senate-gop-leader-takes-aim-health-law/
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Hill reveals: On the day after Republicans reclaimed control of Congress, a Democratic lawmaker said he will introduce a measure that would "disavow" the impeachment of former President Clinton.
Rep. Chaka Fattah (Pa.) said that the resolution is necessary so that Democrats and Republicans can work together in a bipartisan fashion.
"As we enter a period in which bipartisanship will be a major priority for the Congress, it is vital that we disavow the most highly partisan example of the politics of personal destruction in the recent history of this House," Fattah said in a statement.
Fattah said he is introducing the resolution on Nov. 15, the first day of the lame-duck session, noting that Clinton's impeachment took place during the December 1998 lame-duck session.
Republicans have already said they do not plan to impeach President Obama when they take power next year. http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/127537-dem-wants-house-to-disavow-clinton-impeachment

President Obama's trip to India will cost the U.S. $200m-a-day, it was reported today.
The visit - part of a 10-trip to Asia - will take place amid unprecedented levels of security in the city of Mumbai, where terrorists killed at least 173 people two years ago.
Extreme measures to ensure the safety of President Obama will include the complete booking of the 570-room Taj Mahal Hotel for his security entourage.

Nov 29, 2007 ... #2 posted by flickersticks , November 29, 2007 10:30 AM ... This needless duplication of security effort costs money, after all -- Republicans need to learn that money ... So a three day international trip is $3M give or take a few million. .... I saw his motorcade go by (in the US) a few years ago. ...  [I am posting this comparison because I was asked to put Obama's India trip into perspective.  This is really the only thing I could come up with on Google, and I invite my readers to add more perspective to Obama's trip, as well as Michelle's trip to Spain.  I can see that in 2007 the amount of 1 million per day was considered to be outrageous. I think the request to compare is a fair and valid request.... so do help me out here if you can.]

ELECTION DAY!

Above is Dr. Dan Benishek, at the Take Back America Rally in Petoskey, Michigan.

Following are my endorsements for the elections of the following candidates:
Dan Benishek, for the US House of Representatives
Greg MacMaster, for the State Representative.
Howard Walker for the State Senate.
Rick Snyder for Michigan Governor/Brian Calley for Lieutenant Governor
Ruth Johnson for Secretary of State (George Soros has used his money to target her and other Republican candidates in important states, so that Democrats will be the ones in charge to count votes in close state elections.  As Stalin once said, it is not the voters who matter, but the ones who count the vote.)
Bill Schuette for Attorney General
Mary Beth Kelly for Supreme Court
Bob Young for Supreme Court

Go forth and make your vote count!  Be sure to be part of history!

Be sure when you vote to turn the election ballot over in order to vote for other candidates and for or against several initiatives.  You will choose whether or not you want to go to the expense of holding a state Constitutional Convention, and whether you wish for convicted felons to be able to run for public office (no, I'm not kidding!)

Need another reason to vote?  How about this from the LA Times?

If the GOP wins control of the House next week, senior congressional Republicans plan to launch a blistering attack on the Obama administration's environmental policies, as well as on scientists who link air pollution to climate change.

The GOP's fire will be concentrated especially on the administration's efforts to use the Environmental Protection Agency's authority over air pollution to tighten emissions controls on coal, oil and other carbon fuels that scientists say contribute to global warming.

The attack, according to senior Republicans, will seek to portray the EPA as abusing its authority and damaging the economy with needless government regulations.
In addition, GOP leaders say, they will focus on what they see as distortions of scientific evidence regarding climate change and on Obama administration efforts to achieve by executive rule-making what it failed to win from Congress.  Also, Obama could use his veto power.

But the GOP's plans for wide-ranging and sustained investigations by congressional committees could put the EPA and administration environmental policymakers on the defensive and create political pressures that could cause Obama to pull back on environmental issues as the 2012 presidential election draws closer. http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-epa-battle-ahead-20101030,0,6040861.story

Breitbart reports that: the United States will come under the spotlight at the UN's top human rights assembly's for the first time over the coming week along with other countries that face scrutiny by the Human Rights Council.
Some 300 US civil liberties and community groups in the US Human Rights Network on Monday called on the Obama administration to bring "substandard human rights practices" in the United States into line with international standards.
The United States only agreed to join the Council in May 2009, after the Bush administration had shunned the body which replaced its similar though discredited predecessor, the UN human rights commission, in 2006.

The Network produced a 400-page report criticising "glaring inadequacies in the United States human rights record," including the "discriminatory impact" of foreclosures, "widespread" racial profiling and "draconian" immigration policies.
[And here we thought that things such as government beheading, killings, imprisonment, intentional starvation, stoneings to death, no freedom of speech and the like were what constitutes human rights violations]
"Advocates across America have not only documented substandard human rights practices which have persisted in the US for years, but also those that reflect the precipitous erosion of human rights protections in the US since 9/11," said Sarah Paoletti of the Network.
The United States has also faced widespread criticism by UN rights monitors in recent years over its handling of terror suspects and suspected torture, while concern over the conduct of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan has been revived in recent months with "Wikileak" reports on leaked confidential documents.  http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=CNG.3fda6adee976b3a33a4faade5f6c18cd.fb1&show_article=1

This Was Obama's Moment - Now It Is Ours!

From Obama's convention speech (my rebuttals in parenthesis): "America, this is our moment. This is our time. Our time to turn the page on the policies of the past. Our time to bring new energy and new ideas to the challenges we face. Our time to offer a new direction for the country we love.  [What a bunch of unspecific platitudes from a man whose wife said during the Presidential campaign that this was the FIRST time she was ever proud of her country!  I think she needs to study some American history - don't you?]
The journey will be difficult. The road will be long. I face this challenge with profound humility, and knowledge of my own limitations [a promise he couldn't keep because he believes himself to be more brilliant than anyone else]. But I also face it with limitless faith in the capacity of the American people. Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it, and believe in it, [I believe he is speaking here about his Progressive agenda] then I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick [has he forgotten the assistance provided by Medicare, Medicaid, AIDS funding for those without insurance, State Children's Health Insurance Program, the NIH, free clinics and the generosity of those who donate to hospitals for the care of the uninsured - and the fact that emergency rooms are not allowed, by law, to turn anyone away?  I would say we "began to provide care decades ago] and good jobs to the jobless [by this, I imagine he meant giving government jobs and union jobs, not promotion of jobs in the private sector, for if the government takes over an industry it can then claim to have provided those jobs, as any good Socialist would do]; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow [and he thinks he is humble?] and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on earth [we always have been the shining city on the hill]. This was the moment—this was the time—when we came together to remake this great nation [notice he didn't say to improve this great nation, but to actually remake it, to (as he said) "fundamentally transform it"]so that it may always reflect our very best selves and our highest ideals. Thank you, God bless you, and may God bless the United States of America". [How do YOU think the Hope and Change mantra has worked out for America?  His change, in my view, is that our country's President now spends his time in office dividing our citizens into groups of good and evil, picking winners and losers, denigrating those who provide jobs and opportunity as the bad guys, declaring that those who disagree with him are his "enemies", and actually declaring that democrats must "punish" these enemies!]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------  I implore you to vote!  It is now our moment, and it may very well be our last good chance to demand that our government work for us, the citizens, instead of we citizens working for our government (perhaps in their desired Civilian National Security Force, "just as
powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded as our military".  It is also the Progressives' best chance, after many decades of work, to wrest from the hands of conservatives the tenets of our Constitution, the principals upon which our Founding Fathers created our Republic.  Progressives have been at work in our school systems for decades, little by little teaching our children that America is no better than any other country (as Obama actually said), that we are in fact fatally flawed, and that we need to get out of the way and let the enlightened Left lead us.  They believe that more government interference in our lives is always good.  I agree with President Gerald Ford, who said, "A government big enough to give you everything you need is big enough to take from you everything you have."  We must keep in mind this election day that, as Edmund Burke said in the 1700's, "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."  If this Administration has done so many things in two years which are directly against the will of the people, just what is it they WON'T do?

Make sure you are part of this possible sea change to the liberal, progressive take-over of America's government, directed by President Obama.  Don't be left out! Overcome all difficulties, get out of your chairs, get in line at the polls, take someone with you when you go to vote, and be proud to be able to say, if we get out the vote and win, "I took part in the election of 2010 - I did my civic duty and it was a privilege."  Look your grandchildren in the eye and tell them that you did everything YOU could do to prevent the greatest country the world has ever known from changing beyond recognition. This is all about getting out the vote - not sitting at home talking about how unhappy you are with our government.  If you don't think particular Republican candidates are quite perfect, it doesn't matter.  Look at the alternative, hold your nose, and vote for the Republican!  Third party candidates are not the answer, as they always help Democrats win. It also ensures that the winner does not have anywhere near a majority of people who actually wanted him in office. Whoever is more energized, more determined to vote, will win this day.  If we don't win this election, we may never have another chance to prevent further progressive laws from being enacted.   This is why Progressives are in a state of panic - their great hopes, the culmination of decades of community organizing to "fundamentally transform" America on Tuesday, are in jeopardy.

Perhaps when history books are written, it will be said that the conservatives, the Tea Party voters, the "take back America" folks, the Tax and Spend Must End patriots, and the newly energized small government voters were the "Second Greatest Generation".

A Short List Of News Two Days Prior to the Election!

Fox News reports: The Justice Department is sending a small pack of election observers to Arizona as Hispanic groups sound the alarm over an anti-illegal immigration group's mass e-mail seeking to recruit Election Day volunteers to help block illegal immigrants from voting.
Hispanic voting rights groups say the e-mail is just an attempt to intimidate minority voters. [What?  If they are voting legally there will be no problem.  This IS the law in America!] But election fraud monitors say that there are hundreds of examples of duplicate registrations, wrong information and past unregistered voters getting ballots.
Voter fraud allegations have emerged just days before the midterm in many crucial battleground states across the country, including Nevada, Pennsylvania and Florida.
The Justice Department [whom we have learned to distrust] announced Friday it would deploy more than 400 federal observers to 30 jurisdictions in 18 states ahead of Tuesday's election. But Arizona officials say the department had already committed to sending observers to their state. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/10/29/justice-dept-send-election-observers-arizona-group-seeks-crack-illegal-voters/

NPR and Newsweek really respects us, according to Newsbusters: NPR's Nina Totenberg said Friday that she's very afraid of the upcoming elections.  Newsweek's Evan Thomas, her co-panelist on "Inside Washington," said historians might look upon November 2, 2010 "as kind of a joke...obviously the political system’s a mess"
"There is sort of a circus aspect to it that people, it’s become comic and a kind of a dark way."
Isn't it amazing how these same people that were thrilled by the idea of America electing as president a junior senator from Illinois with little qualifications for the most important office in the land are now scared to death about who may be going to Congress next January?  [I do like Michele Bachman's idea to spend some time in Congress giving lessons on the Constitution, more for the Democrats than for new Republican Congressmen, however.]
Oozes with hypocrisy, doesn't it?

New York Magazine actually ran this without correcting the President's diatribe (well, they did say "somewhat dubiously):  According to President Obama, some pesky "young people" protesting for more global AIDS funding have been showing up "at every rally" and interrupting him. Today, in Connecticut to discuss the economy, Obama addressed these crazy young people, and ended up addressing AIDS funding in the process. The president put his planned remarks on hold and said:
"Excuse me, excuse me, excuse me, young people? Let me just say this: You've been appearing at every rally we've been doing, and we're funding global AIDS, and the other side is not. So I don't know why you think this is a useful strategy to take. I think it would make a lot more sense for you guys to go to the folks who aren't interested in funding global AIDS, and go to that rally. We're trying to figure out how to finance the things that you want financed. You guys have made your point. Let's go."  http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2010/10/obama_republicans_arent_fundin.html
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our Liar In Chief told a whopper this time.  Now read this, from the Bush Administration era......
For the fifth consecutive year since the Republican takeover of Congress, the House advanced a spending measure which would increase funding for AIDS treatment and services millions of dollars above the budget request of President Clinton.

The House Appropriations Labor/HHS Subcommittee set an increase of $107 million for the Ryan White CARE Act in Fiscal Year 2000 (7.6%), with a crucial increase in the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), a state-administered program which funds direct access to life-saving and life-extending AIDS drug treatments for patients who are uninsured or underinsured and do not qualify for Medicaid. [Wait a minute!  But I thought, according to Obama's campaign speeches, that HE will BEGIN to care for the sick in America, at last...]
"The Republican Congress has acted wisely and prudently, and has preserved health care priorities for people with HIV/AIDS amidst budget conflicts," said James Driscoll, Log Cabin national AIDS policy advisor. "In addition, Congress put in a 9% increase for AIDS research programs at the National Institutes of Health, while President Clinton only requested a 2% increase. This shows Chairman Porter's far-sighted leadership in crafting a sound federal AIDS strategy.  [As you can tell, even the policy advisor for AIDS knows that the Bush Administration was good to them.  Where is the media, and why aren't they pointing this out to be a lie??  It is time to start looking for an honorable President who does not lie with vigor to Americans.  I have had enough of him and Democrats, haven't you?]

John Kerry Denigrates Voters; Obama's Civilian National Security Force; Obama's Visit to India; France Not Backing Down

By Glen Johnson
AP Political Writer BOSTON—Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry unleashed a broadside Thursday against Republican "obstructionism," saying the GOP and its talk-show allies have created a "period of know-nothingism" in the country.A testy U.S. Sen. John F. Kerry yesterday blamed clueless voters with short attention spans for the uphill battle beleaguered Democrats are facing against Republicans across the nation.
With his party braced for defeats in the midterm elections, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee told the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce that a Republican machine -- fueled by talk show hosts such as Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck -- has undermined progress and misled the public into believing Democrats created the country's current economic problems.
Kerry singled out attacks on an energy deal he was negotiating with Republicans, which fell apart amid criticism of an emissions-trading program. Some 20 Senate candidates are now opposing the proposed deal in their campaigns.
"It's absurd. We've lost our minds," said a clearly exasperated Kerry. "We're in a period of know-nothingism in the country, where truth and science and facts don't weigh in. It's all short-order, lowest common denominator, cheap-seat politics."
The Massachusetts Republican Party accused Kerry of displaying "astonishing arrogance by shifting blame for the failed policies jammed down our throats by his party." http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2010/10/28/kerry_says_democrats_have_been_fixing_gop_problems/

“We have an electorate that doesn’t always pay that much attention to what’s going on so people are influenced by a simple slogan rather than the facts or the truth or what’s happening,” Kerry told reporters after touring the Boston Medical Center yesterday.  [My, oh my!  Would he be referring to the slogans "Yes We Can!", "Hope and Change", "Change You Can Believe In" or something about a "Fundamental Transformation" of America?  I couldn't have said it better myself - concerning the Democrat voters who get all their news from Comedy Central and from the prolific speech maker President Obama.]

World Net Daily opines: When Barack Obama was campaigning for president in 2008, he visited Colorado Springs and WND broke the the story that he wanted a “Civilian National Security Force” as big and as well-funded as the $650 billion-plus U.S. military. Now Charlie Rangel is proposing that he have it.
Rangel, facing ethics charges in Congress, has proposed the Universal National Service Act that would require “all persons” from ages 18-42 “to perform national service, either as a member of the uniformed services or in civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security.”
"It is the obligation of every citizen of the United States, and every other person residing in the United States, who is between the ages 18 and 42 to perform a period of national service as prescribed in this title," it specifies.
It would require that the president provide "for the induction" of people to the service corps.
"Except as otherwise provided in this section, the period of national service performed by a person under this title shall be two years," Rangel wrote.
The exceptions provide that the term of service may be extended if the "member" needs to "compensate for any time lost to training for any cause" or "for the purpose of furnishing hospitalization, medical, or surgical care for injury or illness incurred in the line of duty."
It gives the president the far-reaching authority to "prescribe such regulations as are necessary to carry out this title," including what types of "civilian service" are required, "standards of satisfactory performance," "penalties for failure" and "such other matters as the president determines necessary to carry out this title."
He said the discussion in Rangel's office is that those in the civilian corps would work in "education, health care, they could work in our ports, various aspects of security."
He also said the idea has been a long-term goal for Rangel.

Expose this guy!  This is an email I recently received....
Peter Lewis is one of the largest benefactors of the left in America (provided $15 million to the ACLU) and is chairman of Progressive Auto Insurance.
This is regarding Progressive Auto Insurance.  They’re the ones with the clever television ads featuring the perky brunette actress all dressed in white. What you might not know is that the chairman of Progressive is Peter Lewis, one of the largest benefactors of the left in America .  He’s your typical rich spoiled kid who took over the company from his father and apparently feels “guilty” for his success and now dedicates himself to making it impossible for anyone else to become wealthy.

Between 2001 and 2003, Lewis funneled $15 million to the
ACLU, the group most responsible for destroying what’s left of America ’s Judeo-Christian heritage

Lewis also gave $12.5 million to MoveOn.org and American Coming Together, two key components of the socialist left. The former group is perhaps the main group used by the Obama forces to organize their activists; the latter group is a 527 political action group that essentially served as a front for the SEIU union thugs who ran ACORN. His funding for these groups was conditional on matching contributions from George Soros, the international socialist who finances much of the Obama political network.

[Are you wondering how the media in India are viewing the impending visit by our President?   Following is an article from India concerning that visit]: Obama meets PM. Sarkozy meets PM. Medvedev meets PM. Wen meets PM. (Snip) Here comes Barack Obama, in effect to enlarge his realm. He brings with him 1,600 staff. His people will take over the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai, and the Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi. The Maurya’s “Grand Presidential Floor”, where Obama will pitch his camp, according to the glossy PR brochure “instills awe and imparts a sense of divine kingship”. What is all this but a 2010 version of the Mughal emperor’s travelling tent city? Moral of the story: from imperial summitry, expect only modest progress. The Grand Presidential Floor has its own security control room, food testing lab, round-the-clock room service... and so on. That food testing lab reminds me of the book I just read  - The Poisoner - a position which every Catholic Bishop required, so that his food would be tested so that he would not  be poisoned.  Also, his "poisoner" could get rid of his enemies.] http://www.business-standard.com/india/news/imperial-summitry/413138/

An Open Letter to Rush Limbaugh From A Hillary Democrat

From HillBuzz (as in Hillary) comes this article of note in this election cycle.  Now be sure to go out and vote! Encourage others to do so as well.

When Obama and the DNC attacked Hillary and her supporters, they permanently alienated tens of millions of us from the party. I know for a fact I am not the only guy with a picture like this on his wall who is working every day to bring down the Obama White House and Democrat Party. Not for Hillary, though I love the woman, but for America...because I love this country even more.
Dear Rush,
It’s my great hope that some of your listeners find a way to get this letter to you,
I don’t think even you understand just how much damage Obama has done to the Democrat Party — to the point where formerly lifelong Democrats like myself, and everyone here at HillBuzz.org, are actively working to expose the party and literally burn it to the ground for the good of the country.
None of this is being reported in the media, but a Civil War in the Democrat ranks has been raging since May 31st, 2008…a date every Hillary Clinton supporter knows well, because that was the date of the Democrat Rules & Bylaws Committee Meeting where Howard Dean (then-DNC Chair), Donna Brazile, and scores of other Kool-Aid slurping Obama flunkies took off their masks and revealed the full extent of the Leftist coup that had taken over the party.  This was the day when the DNC took delegates Hillary Clinton won in Michigan away from her and handed them to Obama (despite the fact he wasn’t even on the primary ballot in that state, because he removed his name when his campaign realized he’d come in third in that race).
This was the determining factor in millions of us leaving the Democrat Party for good.
You seem to know most of all this, so I’ll end the history lesson by noting the people alienated by the Democrat Party during the primaries in 2008 — where it was clear the party and the media colluded at great lengths to push Obama while hammering Hillary Clinton into the ground — never came back to the Democrat Party.
I didn’t leave the Democrat Party, the Democrat Party left me.
After it beat me to a pulp, called me a racist, berated and insulted me, and used Alinsky Rules to hit me with everything it had.  Not just me, but all Hillary supporters.
This is the part I don’t think you understand because I don’t know if you and your listeners paid much attention to what the Obama campaign and DNC did to malign and assault Hillary Clinton’s supporters during the 2008 campaign.  None of this has been forgotten by any of us.
If you have not seen it already, Rush, you need to watch Gigi Gaston’s documentary “We Will Not Be Silenced 2008″.  I’m featured in a segment on the voter fraud that was committed in the Iowa Caucus back in January of 2008.  While I was always aware Democrats use unions and other means to cheat in elections, I never knew the Democrat Party was capable of the large-scale, aggressive, unapologetic fraud it committed on Obama’s behalf all through 2008.  In Iowa, I watched Obama’s ACORN and SEIU goons push and shove old people, bully them, and intimidate them when they wanted to vote for Hillary Clinton.  I saw scores of Illinois license plates fill the parking lots outside caucus locations, with Chicagoland Obama supporters illegally entering the Caucus sites to vote for Obama and game Iowa for him.  Having planned ahead, Obama supporters actually RAN those caucus sites, and held the doors open for all these fraudulent voters to walk right in, without being asked for IDs, where they then took control of the caucuses and bullied the Iowa residents into supporting Obama — lest they be called RAAACISTS! out in the open in front of their friends and neighbors in those open-air caucuses.
It’s going to be years, if ever, before the lamestream media ever catches up to any of this, and realizes that a large swath of people who used to be Democrat loyalists are now doing everything they can to destroy the party.  Some of them are out and open, like me and my friends here at HillBuzz, but many are doing their part quietly.  They just stop writing checks.  Or maybe now they write checks to Democrat opponents.  They might continue to attend events and fundraisers, but now they call up Republican sites and give them all the dirt on what they heard in those meetings.  The Democrat Party alienated so many people who are now working to bring it down that I could go on for pages and pages more on this topic.
It’s very Sidney Bristow, Rush.  And if you watched that show Alias, you’d know she not only won in the end, but looked damn good kicking ass while doing it.
THAT, El Rushbo, is what your “Hillary babes” are up to.
Here in Boystown, and in every town, because the Civil War Howard Dean, Donna Brazile, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Obama started on May 31st, 2008 is raging without end until the Democrat Party is no more.
Tell your listeners to count on that.  http://hillbuzz.org/2010/10/27/an-open-letter-to-rush-limbaugh-and-his-listeners/

Voter Problems and Fraud

Some voters in Boulder City complained on Monday that their ballot had been cast before they went to the polls, raising questions about Clark County's electronic voting machines.
Voter Joyce Ferrara said when they went to vote for Republican Sharron Angle, her Democratic opponent, Sen. Harry Reid's name was already checked.Ferrara said she wasn't alone in her voting experience. She said her husband and several others voting at the same time all had the same thing happen."Something's not right," Ferrara said. "One person that's a fluke. Two, that's strange. But several within a five minute period of time -- that's wrong."Clark County Registrar of Voters Larry Lomax said there is no voter fraud, although the issues do come up because the touch-screens are sensitive. For that reason, a person may not want to have their fingers linger too long on the screen after they make a selection at any time."Especially in a community with elderly citizens (they have) difficulty in (casting their) ballot," Lomax said. "Team leaders said there were complaints (and the) race filled in." http://www.fox5vegas.com/news/25511115/detail.html

The Nevada News Bureau writes:  Secretary of State Ross Miller said today there have been no complaints filed with his office about suspicious voter activity despite email rumors and media accounts that at least some electronic voting machines are pre-programmed to support U.S. Senate candidate Harry Reid, D-NV.
Miller, holding the first of two media briefings on the allegations, urged anyone seeing a violation of election or voting law to file a formal complaint with his office so it can be investigated.
“I know that tensions are running high this election and that emotions are running very strong, but I want to set the record straight,” he said. “This is the entire reason that we have formed the Election Integrity Task Force in 2008. I’m not going to stand for any fraud or intimidation at the polling place, but nor will I stand idly by and listen to rumors and innuendos undermine the integrity of our electoral process.”  http://www.nevadanewsbureau.com/2010/10/27/nevada-secretary-of-state-says-no-evidence-of-vote-fraud/

Newbernsj writes: A Craven County voter says he had a near miss at the polls on Thursday when an electronic voting machine completed his straight-party ticket for the opposite of what he intended.
Sam Laughinghouse of New Bern said he pushed the button to vote Republican in all races, but the voting machine screen displayed a ballot with all Democrats checked. He cleared the screen and tried again with the same result, he said. Then he asked for and received help from election staff.
“They pushed it twice and the same thing happened,” Laughinghouse said. “That was four times in a row. The fifth time they pushed it and the Republicans came up and I voted  http://www.newbernsj.com/articles/machine-91656-screen-voter.html

From ABC News: This year marks the first Illinois election that any registered voter can cast their ballot by mail, no excuses necessary. WFTV reports: Daytona Beach City Commissioner Derrick Henry and his campaign manager, Genesis Robinson, were arrested Wednesday, charged with committing absentee ballot fraud during Henry’s 2010 re-election campaign, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said.  The arrest of Henry and Robinson comes a little more than two months after Volusia County Supervisor of Elections Ann McFall requested an investigation into irregularities in absentee ballot requests coming into her office. McFall brought her concerns to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office in August, prompting the Sheriff’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office to immediately launch a joint investigation that ultimately led to the filing of a dozen felony charges against Henry and Robinson.
"Derrick do you intend to step down from city council?" WFTV reporter Jason Allen asked Henry as he was being arrested."Do you intend to stop asking questions when you're told to?" Henry replied.
The investigation revealed that Henry and Robinson devised a strategy to boost Henry’s re-election bid by obtaining absentee ballots for numerous people, most of whom never requested the ballots. By law, residents are only allowed to request absentee ballots for themselves, immediate family members or for someone for whom they’re acting as legal guardian. http://www.wftv.com/news/25536806/detail.html

Fox News Illinois reports: Illinois may not be finished investigating those late military ballots.
Members of the House Elections Committee say they're considering formal hearings into how and why 36 counties missed the deadline to send ballots to deployed servicemen and other overseas voters.

State Rep. Dan Brady, R-Bloomington, said there is clearly something wrong when one-third of local election offices miss a federal deadline to ensure soldiers and sailors have their votes counted.  http://www.foxillinois.com/news/illinois/Lawmakers-May-Probe-Late-Military-Ballots-105831858.html
