Benishek visits Charlevoix; Form letter condolences from President; US top earners pay more than any other industrialized nation; Obamacare layoffs are in process; Westgate Resorts sends letter to employees; Steve Wynn discusses Barack Obama; White House admits bold lies; Jay Carney halts press briefings after Libya debacle; Al Qaeda NOT dead, Mr. President; African-American against Barack Obama; Obama words on health insurance mandate; Muslim jihadists among us

Congressman Dr. Dan Benishek visited Charlevoix yesterday, joining supporters at the Weathervane for lunch.
Congressman Benishek's Communications Director is Raffi Williams, son of Fox News' Juan Williams.  Juan is right to be very proud of him.  We all enjoyed meeting him.

A man who lost a son to the war in Afghanistan is disappointed in the condolence letter he received from President Barack Obama.
Tom Logan, a Willis resident, calls the note late, impersonal, disrespectful and essentially a form letter.
"It opened up a wound in our heart you can't fix. You can't send another letter. You can't make it right," Logan said.

Local 2 Investigates examined two other letters sent by Obama to families of soldiers killed in action. The one-page typed condolence letters were identical other than names, ranks and service branches.
Young examined the letter written to Tom Logan, which arrived by UPS truck four months after his son's death.  Young said that it appears Obama's predecessor, George W. Bush, wrote more personal, individualized, sometimes hand-written notes to the families of soldiers. http://www.click2houston.com/news/Father-of-fallen-Marine-upset-by-president-s-letter/-/1735978/16904582/-/q7u9agz/-/index.html

David Siegel, the founder and CEO of real estate company Westgate Resorts on Monday threatened to fire some employees if Barack Obama is reelected and carries out his plan to raise taxes on the so-called rich.  [ The letter is worth reading.  As in a popular joke, I wonder if he has already cruised the parking lot to find the OBAMA/Biden bumper stickers].

On the Tuesday broadcast of the nightly Nevada political program "Ralston Reports," Steve Wynn, CEO of Wynn Resorts sat down with host Jon Ralston to discuss the presidential election.

Wynn, an outspoken critic of President Obama, didn't hold back in his latest criticism of the incumbent president seeking a second term.

"I'll be damned if I want to have him lecture me about small business and jobs. I'm a job creator. Guys like me are job creators and we don't like having a bulls-eye painted on our back," Wynn said about Obama to Ralston. An excerpt of the interview is below.
WYNN: I've created about 250,000 direct and indirect jobs according to the state of Nevada's measurement. If the number is 250,000, that's exactly 250,000 more than this president, who I'll be damned if I want to have him lecture me about small business and jobs. I'm a job creator. Guys like me are job creators and we don't like having a bulls-eye painted on our back.

The president is trying to put himself between me and my employees. By class warfare, by deprecating and calling a group that makes money 'billionaires and millionaires who don't pay their share.' I gave 120% of my salary and bonus away last year to charities, as I do most years. I can't stand the idea of being demagogued, that is put down by a president who has never created any jobs and who doesn't even understand how the economy works. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2012/10/09/steve_wynn_on_obama_ill_be_damned_if_ill_have_him_lecture_me.html

*White House Comes Clean: No Protest Outside Libya Consulate

In other words, absolutely everything we were told by our government -- by President Obama, Secretary of State Clinton, Ambassador Susan Rice. White House Spokesman Jay Carney, and any number of staffers and surrogates -- was 100% false.
There were no protests, no benign crowds exploited by local militias, and nothing had anything to do with a video. Our Ambassador, another diplomat, and two Navy SEALs  were murdered in a brutally efficient and coordinated terrorist attack.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
According to the White House website, there’s been no full-fledged “face the nation”-style televised press briefing in more than two weeks.  Bummer, if so, because I’d sure like to hear more about this
Less than two months before the fatal attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, the State Department concluded that the risk of violence to diplomats and other Americans in Libya was high and that the weak U.S.-backed government in Tripoli could do little about it.
“The risk of U.S. Mission personnel, private U.S. citizens and businesspersons encountering an isolating event as a result of militia or political violence is HIGH,” a State Department security assessment from July 22 concludes.
The department approved a 30 percent “danger pay” bonus for Americans working in Libya during the summer, according to documents released by Congress on Tuesday.
The department’s former top security officer told the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform that he had recommended keeping U.S. military and additional State Department security forces on hand through October, documents released by the committee show.
“The [Libyan government] was overwhelmed and could not guarantee our protection,” former regional security officer Eric A. Nordstrom wrote Oct. 1. http://hotair.com/archives/2012/10/09/hey-how-come-jay-carneys-not-holding-televised-press-briefings-anymore/

Bin Laden is Dead, Al Qaeda is Alive

Far from ‘decimated,’ terrorist group gathers strength.
President Barack Obama’s campaign continues to claim that it has “decimated” al Qaeda, the world’s most notorious terror group, despite increasing evidence the group is expanding and despite an al Qaeda attack that left four Americans, including an ambassador, dead.
On Monday, team Obama hailed what they claim is the president’s successful eradication of al Qaeda.
“Obama’s national security record—ending the Iraq war, decimating al Qaeda, restoring our standing abroad,” stated a message sent from the Obama campaign’s official Twitter account.
[It is my contention that the very fact that an American President with a totally Muslim name who uses as his campaign point of pride that GM is alive and Osama Bin Laden is dead is reason enough for Muslims to think of him as the worst of infidels.]  http://freebeacon.com/bin-laden-is-dead-al-qaeda-is-alive/

Unhappy with President Barack  Obama‘s support of same-sex marriage, a group of African-American faith  leaders have announced a campaign aimed at stripping 25 percent of the black  vote that went to in 2008 (95 percent).
The newly formed nonprofit group, God Said, will begin targeting voters in  Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Florida with television and radio  advertising, as well as a grassroots campaign to encourage people to consider  the gospel when they enter the voting booth.

Obama to DeGeneres on Why He Opposed Individual Mandate: Forcing Uninsured to Buy Insurance Is Like Forcing Homeless to Buy Homes http://cnsnews.com/news/article/obama-degeneres-why-he-opposed-individual-mandate-forcing-uninsured-buy-insurance

WASHINGTON – A radical jihadist group responsible for nearly 50 attacks on American soil is operating 35 terrorist training camps across the nation, but the U.S. government refuses to include the organization on the State Department’s list of foreign terrorists.

Jamaat ul-Fuqra, known in the U.S. as “Muslims of America,” has purchased or leased hundreds of acres of property – from New York to California – in which the leader, Sheikh Mubarak Gilani, boasts of conducting “the most advanced training courses in Islamic military warfare.”

In a recruitment video captured from Gilani’s “Soldiers of Allah,” he states in English: “We are fighting to destroy the enemy. We are dealing with evil at its roots and its roots are America.”

Though Gilani and his organization is suspected of committing assassinations and firebombings inside the U.S., and is also suspected of the beheading murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, the terrorist camps spread through the country continue to expand in numbers and population.
