Corps of Engineers under fire in Missouri; Obama's executive order on rural communities; Al Gore advocates active population control; Muslim and Hispanic demographics in America;

The Souix City Journal writes: "The Corps of Engineers has completely and totally let us down," Gary Grittner, a Fort Pierre resident, said. "We, the people of Fort Pierre and Pierre, are paying the price for incompetence on the part of the Corps of Engineers."
Severe flooding on the upper Missouri may be a rare event, but harsh criticism of the corps isn't. For decades, stakeholders up and down the river have waged a fierce struggle over how the corps has managed water releases from the great Missouri River reservoirs -- struggles triggered equally by periods of low water as this year's high water. http://siouxcityjournal.com/news/state-and-regional/iowa/article_d93dfa66-9bb9-11e0-a292-001cc4c03286.html

Patriot Action Network reports: On June 9, 2011, President Obama signed his 86th Executive Order, and almost nobody noticed.
Created by executive order this month, the new council will help low-income residents in rural communities access public funds for “economic growth” and will “promote innovation” and improve access to health care and education. Section 1. Policy. Sixteen percent of the American population lives in rural counties. Strong, sustainable rural communities are essential to winning the future and ensuring American competitiveness in the years ahead. These communities supply our food, fiber, and energy, safeguard our natural resources, and are essential in the development of science and innovation. Though rural communities face numerous challenges, they also present enormous economic potential. The Federal Government has an important role to play in order to expand access to the capital necessary for economic growth, promote innovation, improve access to health care and education, and expand outdoor recreational activities on public lands.  Warning bells should have been sounding all across rural America when the phrase “sustainable rural communities” came up. As we know from researching the UN plan for Sustainable Development known as Agenda 21, these are code words for the true fundamental transformation America. http://www.patriotactionnetwork.com/forum/topic/show?id=2600775%3ATopic%3A4374398&xgs=1&xg_source=msg_share_topic

Judicial Watch opines: [The Rural Council will also focus on job creation in those areas, bringing access to credit, creating “digital and physical networks,” expanding “ecosystem markets” and developing “renewable energy projects.” The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will provide the taxpayer money and administrative support for the new committee.
Obama’s Agriculture Secretary, Tom Vilsack, will chair the rural council and the heads of all major federal agencies will serve as members and key advisors. Among them are the secretaries of the Treasury, Defense, Commerce, Labor, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, Education and Energy. Attorney General Eric Holder will also serve on the new panel.  http://www.judicialwatch.org/blog/2011/jun/obama-creates-white-house-rural-council

Daily Caller reports: In an appearance Monday in New York City, former Vice President Al Gore, prominently known for his climate change activism, took on the subject of population size and the role of society in controlling it to reduce pollution.
He offered some ideas about what might be done for females in the name of stabilizing population growth. (h/t Chris Horner via wattsupwiththat.com)
“One of the things we could do about it is to change the technologies, to put out less of this pollution, to stabilize the population, and one of the principle ways of doing that is to empower and educate girls and women,” Gore said. “You have to have ubiquitous availability of fertility management so women can choose how many children have, the spacing of the children.
“You have to lift child survival rates so that parents feel comfortable having small families and most important — you have to educate girls and empower women,”  (I would like to assume that he is talking about women in third world countries, but I wouldn't count on it.
1) Americans are at this time producing only enough children to replace themselves, and I can't think of one person who had more children than they wanted because they knew several of them would die due to our low survival rate
2) The truth of it is that whites in our country, and all over the world, will continue to lower their population growth, while Hispanics, Afro-American, and Muslims will continue to produce far more than enough children simply to replace themselves.
3)  We have been shocked thru the years by China's one child policy, which leads to abortions of many female fetuses, leading to a decided lack of women who can bear children.
4) These solutions to global warming will create a world where the white man will become the minority even more quickly than is now happening.  Is this Algore's unstated goal?  What could he be thinking.  We should be so grateful that many recounts show that he lost the election to George W. Bush, liberal lies about it aside.  Gore is the gift that keeps on giving.)

Washington Post adds: The world's Muslim population will grow at double the rate of non-Muslims over the next 20 years, according to a broad new demographic analysis that is likely to spark controversy in Europe and the United States.
If current trends continue, the study found, the number of Muslims in the United States will more than double, from 2.6 million in 2010 to 6.2 million in 2030. The percentage of native-born Muslims in the U.S. is projected to rise from 35 percent today to 45 percent in 2030. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/01/27/AR2011012700012.html

USA Today writes: The U.S. population will soar to 438 million by 2050 and the Hispanic population will triple, according to projections released Monday by the Pew Research Center.Even if immigration is limited, Hispanics' share of the population will increase because they have higher birth rates than the overall population.
•Nearly one in five Americans will have been born outside the USA vs. one in eight in 2005. Sometime between 2020 and 2025, the percentage of foreign-born will surpass the historic peak reached a century ago during the last big immigration wave. New immigrants and their children and grandchildren born in the USA will account for 82% of the population increase from 2005 to 2050.
•Whites who are not Hispanic, now two-thirds of the population, will become a minority when their share drops to 47%. They made up 85% of the population in 1960.
•Hispanics, already the largest minority group, will more than double their share of the population to 29%.
•Blacks will remain 13% of the population. Asians will go to 9% from 5%. http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2008-02-11-population-study_N.htm

AP News writes: For the first time, minorities make up a majority of babies in the U.S., part of a sweeping race change and growing age divide between mostly white, older Americans and predominantly minority youths that could reshape government policies.
Preliminary census estimates also show the share of African-American households headed by women - made up of mostly single mothers - now exceeds African-American households with married couples, a sign of declining U.S. marriages overall but also continuing challenges for black youths without involved fathers.  http://apnews.myway.com/article/20110623/D9O1HG5G0.html

Expose Obama writes about another issue which will affect our demographics: In a first for any administration, President Obama has implemented a new system to spare a myriad of illegal immigrants from removal by authorizing—and encouraging—low-level field officers to block deportations by using an outrageously broad list of exemptions.
The unprecedented program will allow droves of undocumented immigrants to remain in the U.S. by drastically expanding factors that can be considered to exercise “prosecutorial discretion.” That’s when agencies get to decide to what degree they enforce certain laws against particular individuals.
Beginning this week, federal immigration officers, attorneys and other officials can cancel the removal of an illegal immigrant that is breast feeding or pregnant, has pursued an education in the U.S., has a relative in the military, has ties and contributions to the community or a U.S.-born child (anchor baby), to name a few. A “person’s length of presence in the U.S.” will also strengthen their case to stay. http://www.exposeobama.com/2011/06/21/more-stealth-amnesty-obama-to-suspend-countless-deportations/?utm_source=Expose+Obama&utm_campaign=5251c4dad5-EO_06_22_2011_16_22_2011&utm_medium=email

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can't pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies."  - Senator Barack Obama, March 16, 2006*

HOw can Obama get away with altering how the field officers deal with illegal immigration suspects, by ordering them to use "broad and complex" exemptions to let the bad guys skate ?!!
