The Thomas More Law Center announced today that it is representing U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Dooley, a 1994 Graduate of the U. S. Military Academy at West Point.  In April 2012, LTC Dooley, a highly decorated combat veteran, was publically condemned by General Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and relieved of his teaching assignment because of the negative way Islam was portrayed in an elective course entitled, Perspectives on Islam and Islamic Radicalism. 
The actions against LTC Dooley, an instructor involved with this elective, follow a letter to the Department of Defense dated October 19, 2011 and signed by 57 Muslim organizations, demanding that all training materials that they judge to be offensive to Islam be “purged” and instructors “are effectively disciplined.”

Malik Zulu Shabazz, national chairman of the New Black Panther Party, stated today in a radio interview that his controversial group may deploy at voting booths in the November presidential elections, claiming such a move is needed to ensure there is no “intimidation against our people.”

A leaked training manual used in the State and Local Anti-Terrorism Training (SLATT) program for law enforcement and funded by the Department of Justice lists political bumper stickers expressing opposition to the United Nations and support for the bill of rights as indications of terrorist activity.
Slides for the presentation depict the kind of behavior that law enforcement officials should be wary of in spotting potential terrorists during highway patrols.
One of the slides – entitled “Fourth Amendment Issues” – notes that “a suspicious map located on the passenger seat” could warrant further investigation as a potential indicator of terrorism.
Another slide entitled “General Right Wing Extremist” – depicts suspicious bumper stickers that should warrant further investigation by cops conducting traffic stops.

A group of House Republican chairmen wrote Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Attorney General Eric Holder today to protest any deal that might free the “blind sheikh” Omar Abdel-Rahman to Egypt for humanitarian and health reasons.
The lawmakers called recent reports that the inspiration behind the 1993 World Trade Center bombing could be released in a goodwill gesture to Cairo. Virginia Senate candidate Tim Kaine, a Democrat, said that he's open to having a "minimum tax level for everyone":
"I would be open to a proposal to have some minimum tax level for everyone," said Kaine today at a Senate debate between himself and his opponent, Republican George Allen.
Interestingly, as the Washington Free Beacon notes, just yesterday Kaine released an ad that suggested he's to the right of President Obama on the issue of taxes. 
Kaine says in ad, “President Obama wants the Bush tax cuts to expire for people earning over $250,000; George Allen wants to make all the tax cuts permanent. There’s a middle ground. The Obama administration’s mugging of the First Amendment continues apace.
The State Department was all over the airwaves in Pakistan yesterday, spending tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars pleading with Muslims not to blame the US government — that is, Barack Obama — for that anti-Islam video.
The 30-second spots feature the president citing America’s long tradition of religious tolerance.
They might also have included Obama talking about this nation’s equally long and cherished tradition of free speech.
But they don’t.
Indeed, they might even have pointed out that Americans enjoy a right to speak their minds — whenever they choose, whatever their opinions — and that most Pakistanis don’t.

A conservative blogger who once headed a campaign against an Islamic center near the Sept. 11 terror attack site won a court order to post the ad in 10 subway stations on Monday. It reads, "In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad."
