Polling on Obama; Troop Out - Contractors In; Juan Doesn't Get It; Foreign Relations with North Korea; Paycheck Fairness Act; JournoList; Freedom of Worship....; and Elena Kagen

Democrats will be gulping this morning at the Quinnipiac Poll's latest results. For the first time in the survey's history, Americans believe by a 48% to 40% margin that President Obama doesn't deserve re-election. Almost as stinging, a plurality believe the country would have been better off if John McCain had beaten Mr. Obama in 2008. [Congress received just an 11% approval rating!]       http://online.wsj.com/article  /SB10001424052748704684604575381191790284742.html?mod=WSJ_Opinion_LEFTTopOpinion

Can diplomats field their own army? The State Department is laying plans to do precisely that in Iraq, in an unprecedented experiment that U.S. officials and some nervous lawmakers say could be risky. In little more than a year, State Department contractors in Iraq could be driving armored vehicles, flying aircraft, operating surveillance systems, even retrieving casualties if there are violent incidents and disposing of unexploded ordnance. Under the terms of a 2008 status of forces agreement, all U.S. troops must be out of Iraq by the end of 2011.
Iraq remains a battle zone, and the American diplomats and other civilian government employees will need security. The U.S. military will be gone. Iraq's army and police, despite billions of dollars and years of American training, aren't yet capable of doing the job.
The State Department, better known for negotiating treaties and delivering diplomatic notes, will have to fend for itself in what remains an active danger zone.
[What a weasel way to be able to say our military is out, when we pay others to do the work of our military.]

The Washington Post reports: A House ethics subcommittee announced Thursday that it found that Rep. Charles B. Rangel violated congressional ethics rules and that it will prepare for a trial, probably beginning in September. The panel is expected to make the details of his alleged violations public next Thursday.
Rangel (D-N.Y.) has been under the House ethics committee's microscope since early 2008 after it was reported that he may have used his House position to benefit his financial interests. Two of the most serious inquiries have focused on Rangel's failure to declare $239,000 to $831,000 in assets on his disclosure forms, and on his effort to raise money for a private center named after him at City College of New York using his congressional letterhead. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/07/22/AR2010072204704_pf.html

Juan Williams writes: Who is making this stuff up? How is it possible that the first black president of the United States, under pressure for alleged reverse discrimination against whites at the Justice Department, fires a black Agriculture Department official for telling a story of racial redemption? How is it possible that such a bright man as the president repeatedly reacts without the facts when it comes to a topic so explosive as race? Last summer he spoke out on a racial controversy without the facts and buried himself in political quicksand that ended with a staged “beer summit.” [Juan - this is what an empty suit looks like, even though it may be attractive enough to gain some attention.  The man is smart, perhaps, but uninformed, totally unprepared, and has an agenda.  I will add that this Sherrod woman probably has other remarks, including "get him one of his own kind", which are racist.  How can she possibly work for the government in this capacity?  I know - because Obama has filled his appointments with radicals who think like him.]     http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2010/07/21/juan-williams-shirley-sherrod-obama-president-naacp-agriculture-glenn-beck/

From Yahoo News: The spokesman for the North Korean delegation to the talks, Ri Tong Il, repeated Pyongyang's denial of responsibility for the March sinking of the ship that killed 46 South Korean sailors and said the upcoming military drills were a violation of its sovereignty that harkened back to the days of 19th-century "gunboat diplomacy."
The exercises will be "another expression of hostile policy against" North Korea. "There will be physical response against the threat imposed by the United States militarily," Ri told reporters in Hanoi.  [This must be another example of how our relations with foreign countries has improve under Obama?]
Clinton responded by saying the U.S. is willing to meet and negotiate with the North, but that this type of threat only heightens tensions. She added that progress in the short term seems unlikely, given the circumstances.
"It is distressing when North Korea continues its threats and causes so much anxiety among its neighbors and the larger region," she told reporters. "But we will demonstrate once again with our military exercises ... that the United States stands in firm support of the defense of South Korea and we will continue to do so."http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100723/ap_on_re_as/as_asean

Cnsnews reports: The Obama administration is backing legislation that includes regulations requiring U.S. businesses to provide to the government data about employee pay as it relates to the sex, race and national origin of employees.

In an orchestrated effort that included a statement by President Barack Obama and an event at the White House featuring Vice President Joe Biden, Attorney General Eric Holder and Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, the president and his cabinet endorsed the Paycheck Fairness Act. http://cnsnews.com/news/article/69746

The Washington Post writes: Conceding that they can't find enough votes for the legislation, Senate Democrats on Thursday abandoned efforts to put together a comprehensive energy bill that would seek to curb greenhouse gas emissions, delivering a potentially fatal blow to a proposal the party has long touted and President Obama campaigned on.
Instead, Democrats will push for a more limited measure that would seek to increase liability costs that oil companies would pay following spills such as the one in the Gulf of Mexico. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/07/22/AR2010072203614.html?hpid=topnews

National Review writes: The JournoList has started to leak like an over-ripe diaper.Just in case you’ve been living in a cave, or if you only get your news from MSNBC, here’s the story. A young blogger, Ezra Klein, formerly of the avowedly left-wing American Prospect and now with the avowedly mainstream Washington Post, founded the e-mail listserv JournoList for like-minded liberals to hash out and develop ideas. Some 400 people joined the by-invitation-only group. Most, it seems, were in the media, but many hailed from academia, think tanks, and the world of forthright liberal activism generally.
In 2008, participants shared talking points about how to shape coverage to help Obama. They tried to paint any negative coverage of Obama’s racist and hateful pastor, Jeremiah Wright, as out of bounds. Journalists at such “objective” news organizations as Newsweek, Bloomberg, Time, and The Economist joined conversations with open partisans about the best way to criticize Sarah Palin.  http://article.nationalreview.com/438552/an-open-conspiracy-to-slant-the-news/jonah-goldberg

Big Journalism opines: One of the nastiest episodes in American journalism occurred in the immediate aftermath of John McCain’s selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate during the 2008 election. It was a potential game-changer and, for a moment, it rocked the leftist media back on its heels. Who can ever forget Andrea Mitchell’s gaping-fish-out-of-water reaction to Palin’s electrifying acceptance speech? For one brief, horrible moment, the Marxist Media saw its dream of a People’s Republic dying, shot through the heart by the moose-hunting mom from Nowhere, Alaska. http://bigjournalism.com/fross/2010/07/22/journolist-a-disgrace-to-american-journalism/

Fox News: The change in language was barely noticeable to the average citizen but political observers are raising red flags at the use of a new term "freedom of worship" by President Obama and Secretary Clinton as a replacement for the term freedom of religion. This shift happened between the President's speech in Cairo where he showcased America's freedom of religion and his appearance in November at a memorial for the victims of Fort Hood, where he specifically used the term "freedom of worship." From that point on, it has become the term of choice for the president and Clinton.
Everyone knows that religious Jews keep kosher, religious Quakers don't go to war, and religious Muslim women wear headscarves-yet "freedom of worship" would protect none of these acts of faith."
In the administration's defense, Carl Esbeck, professor of law at the University of Missouri, is quoted by Christianity Today as saying, "The softened message is probably meant for the Muslim world, said. Obama, seeking to repair relations fractured by 9/11, is telling Islamic countries that America is not interfering with their internal matters."
Let's be clear, however; language matters when it comes to defining freedoms and limits. A shift from freedom of religion to freedom of worship moves the dialog from the world stage into the physical confines of a church, temple, synagogue or mosque. Such limitations can unleash an unbridled initiative that we have only experienced in a mild way through actions determined to removal of roadside crosses, wearing of religious T-shirts and pro-life pins as well as any initiatives of evangelization. It also could exclude our right to raise our children in our faith, the right to religious education, literature or media, the right to raise funds or organize charitable activities and the right to express religious beliefs in the normal discourse of life. [Elections do have consequences...]

Perspectives Of A Russian Immigrant: Elena Kagan And 'The Urge To Alter'

By SVETLANA KUNIN
I am not in any entitlement program, and I'd gladly challenge Mr. Bai's understanding of a high-tech economy, immigration and free trade. I worked for 26 years as a software developer in America, a civil engineer in Russia, and am an immigrant myself.
I am quite sensitive to racial issues — I know from personal experience how a centralized state manipulates ethnic tensions and divides citizens in order to distract them from its own gross incompetence, while it swallows people's liberty

[In discussing Elena Kagen, she writes]: Studying history at Princeton and referring to "socialism's greatness," she was somehow oblivious to the suffering millions of her contemporaries endured around the world throughout the 20th century.
[Quoting Kagen] "The desire to conserve has overwhelmed the urge to alter," she wrote. "Such a state of affairs cries out for explanation. Why, in a society by no means perfect, has a radical party never attained the status of a major political force? Why, in particular, did the socialist movement never become an alternative to the nation's established parties?"  [This woman will likely be our next Supreme Court Justice.....]

Revisiting My Pre-election Letter to the Editor - Refused by Local Paper

Prior to the last election, I tried for
4 weeks to have this letter run in our
local paper. At the time, the paper
refused to run this because, according to
the Editor: "most of the facts that you
claim have been repeatedly shown as
inaccurate, or grossly misstate
associations and positions." Really?
Let's revisit them. Ten Reasons I
Will Not Vote for Barack Obama

1)From years of mentoring by his “friend
Frank" (Marshall Davis), a member of
the Communist Party of the USA - thru
friendships and associations with Chicago
felon Tony Rezko, unrepentant Weather
Underground terrorist William Ayers, the group ACORN (for whom he was a lawyer and
trainer; to whom his campaign has donated $800,000; and being the group who has
been found to be registering thousands of fraudulent voters); and his 20 year
membership in Reverend Wright's Black Liberation Theology Church, he doesn't have
the judgement to NOT associate with radicals. With whom will he likely fill his
cabinet? [My three part series in my blog answers this one, in October 2009. This
letter should have said that Barack IS a radical with a radical agenda for
America.]
 2) He advocates income redistribution as Marxist Saul Alinsky prescribes “from
those according to their ability, to those according to their need”.  This - even
though the bottom 40% of Americans pay NO taxes, and the upper 5%, on whom he plans
to increase taxes, already pay 60% of all taxes.  It is these very people who buy
products, spend money and employ the rest of us.  He wants to do this even knowing
that it will cause less money to go to the government, in the interest of
“fairness”.  Taxes will be increased by another 10% on those who sell a home or
stocks, as well as on those of us who have earned interest and dividends.  Taxes
would be increased by 6.2% for those families earning over $102,000 because he
plans to no longer cap Social Security taxes.  When he raises taxes on corporations
jobs will be shipped overseas where the taxes are much lower. [This was prior to
Joe the Plumber, as well as the appointment, unconfirmed by Congress, of "rationing
King", our new man in charge of Medicare and Medicare.]
3) While excoriating greedy CEOs, lobbyists and Republicans over the current
financial meltdown, his associates Franklin Raines and Jim Johnson bilked Fannie
Mae of over $130 million as the company was going broke. In the last 3 years alone
this lobbyist-hating would-be President took the second largest amount of PAC funds
($130,000)from Fannie Mae, a total which is 49 times the amount that McCain was
given over his lifetime. [During his administration, Obama has kept his hands off
of government oversight or regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and has
positioned the gov't to take over failing financial institutions.]
 4) Americans give billions to poverty-plagued nations.  Barack plans to force us
to give another .7% of our Gross Domestic Product to the graft-ridden UN as part of
his Global Poverty Act. [His goal actually is to redistribute the hard won wealth
of Americans to the poor of the world; to give Amnesty (with critical voting
rights) to millions of illegals; and to collapse our Capitalism system.]
 5) He favors meeting with  evil enemy leaders without preconditions.  He has
negotiated with Iraq, in violation of our Constitution, asking them to not
allow US soldiers to be sent home until after he is elected, so that he can get
the credit. [He now literally bows to our enemies and insults our allies. We have
learned that he hates Britain most likely because they imprisoned and daily
tortured his Kenyan grandfather.]
 6) He would guarantee our loss in Iraq by telling enemies exactly when our troops
will leave, regardless of conditions on the ground.  Al Qaeda will wait til we
leave, take over the county, execute those Iraqis who fought for freedom, and
exclaim victory over a weak USA. [I was wrong here, as it is in Afghanistan where
he is following this plan, putting in place as the Commander there a man he was
willing to trash as the Commander in Iraq.]
 7) He has accused our troops of  “air-raiding villages and killing civilians” in
Afghanistan, fueling the world’s hatred and giving talking points to our enemies.
[He called our corpsmen - corpse-men. Now, during his Administration, we have
soldiers who must not shoot until shot upon and must never shoot is one civilian is
in the area, a rule which the enemy enjoys using to their own benefit. More and
more of our soldiers are being killed, but the media no longer berates the man in
office.]
 8) Any criticism of Barack Obama has been and will continue to be falsely decried
as racism, for he will not admit that it is his radical agenda which is in
question.[This is shockingly true - in spades, no pun intended. I was right on
the money on this one! Some in the Justice Department have been told they may not
prosecute any black man or woman, for that would be racist! Race relation in
America have been set back decades]
 9) Terrorist William Ayers placed Obama as Chairman of his Annenberg Challenge.
Barack directed $50M to a project to specifically "radicalize" Chicago's public
school education agenda. [He has demonstrated via his appointment to "safe school
czar, in particular, his radical agenda for children, including having been ok with
a male teacher's affair with a boy student, as well as distributing, at a seminar
for middle and upper grade school children, pamphlets on the art of "fisting" (ask
a young person what this means). It is so sad that I have to be so graphic in order
to wake up those in self-imposed slumber.]
 10) He claims to want to reduce money in politics - yet his campaign has raised
over $220M, some of it illegal, for use against McCain who, along with Obama,
pledged to use only public funds in his campaign.
And this is a Post-Racial Candidate?  Please.....I pray we are not this easily
duped.  Our country is at stake.
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well - we WERE easily duped, partly because the Mainstream Media was complicit in
not asking tough questions and not questioning Barack's background, [as well as the
fact that it is easy to be complacent and not bother to vote, or to hate Bush so
much that all possible reason flew out the window for those who didn't want to see
the truth.] Charlie Rose and Tom Brokaw, just days prior to the election, had the
gall to say, "You know, we really don't know anything about this man...." [Wasn't
that their job?] Those who refused to heed what we did know have had some time to
understand what a radical man can quickly do to his country, haven't they?
In witnessing the ways in which Barack Obama seems to forget that he is half
white, as well as the dropping of charges against the Black Panthers who
openly intimidated voters in Philadelphia, I recall Obama's discussion of Malcolm X
during one of his speeches. He said that he recalled that Malcolm X wished "that
the white blood that ran thru him, there-by an act of violence, might somehow be
expunged. The other race, he said, would always remain just that: menacing, alien
and apart. I knew that for Malcolm X that wish would never be incidental. I knew
as well that traveling down the road to self-respect, my own white blood would
never recede into mere abstraction."

What have we voters done to ourselves by voting for a man who reveres Malcolm X
and surrounds himself with only the most radical people? Isn't it time to change
direction? Feel free to email this one, and all others, to the world!

Intelligence Funding; TARP Audit; Gov't Racism Against Whites; Push for Energy Bill; Felons For Al Franken Coming to Michigan

Fox News reports: The Obama administration is bracing for the first in a series of Washington Post articles said to focus in unprecedented detail on the government's spending on intelligence contractors. The intelligence community is warning that the article could blow the cover of contract companies doing top-secret work for the government. At the same time, a senior administration official acknowledged that the kind of wasteful spending expected to be spotlighted in the series is "troubling" and something the administration is trying to address. [A Washington Post article reports that Some 854,000 people - or nearly 1 1/2 times the number of people who live in Washington - have top-secret security clearance.  http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/07/18/administration-braces-series-intelligence-contracting-waste/

[An audit of TARP funding reveals the following, from the New York Times:]  President Obama’s auto task force pressed General Motors and Chrysler to close scores of dealerships without adequately considering the jobs that would be lost or having a firm idea of the cost savings that would be achieved, an audit of the process has concluded.  [Can people finally begin to understand what the term "empty suit" means?]  http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/19/business/19autos.html?_r=2&hp

Two weeks ago, the White House informed the state of Oklahoma that it could expect no federal aid to help deal with the damage caused by recent flooding. There was no explanation, no expression of sympathy, no offer of alternatives.
Consider these actions. If anyone during the 2008 had implied, or even speculated, that Obama was capable of anything of the sort, he'd have been dismissed as a demagogue, a hater, even a lunatic. But today, after his abandonment of the state of Tennessee (also wracked by flooding), his betrayal of the Georgians, his pulling the rug out from under the Poles and Czechs, his dragging and cold response to the Gulf blowout, his insults to the UK, the GOP, the Supreme Court, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Dalai Lama, it scarcely raises a shrug. That's Obama. That's how he acts -- with arrogance, superciliousness, and indifference. We can search the entire roster of American presidents, and we will not find a match. This is not the behavior of an elected chief executive; it's the conduct of a divine right monarch, and a pretty inadequate one as well.

Conduct of this sort inevitably produces a reaction -- contempt from equals, and hatred from victims. Obama has created a lot of victims in eighteen months of power, and that reaction has been growing. http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/07/president_haters.html

Andrew Brietbart of Big Government: released a video of Shirley Sherrod, the USDA Georgia director of Rural Development, speaking at the NAACP Freedom Fund dinner in Georgia.
In her meandering speech to what appears to be an all-black audience, this federally appointed executive bureaucrat lays out in stark detail, that her federal duties are managed through the prism of race and class distinctions.
[...]Sherrod describes how she racially discriminates against a white farmer. She describes how she is torn over how much she will choose to help him. And, she admits that she doesn’t do everything she can for him, because he is white. Eventually, her basic humanity informs that this white man is poor and needs help. But she decides that he should get help from “one of his own kind”. She refers him to a white lawyer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Due to the NEW media (that is Fox, ect, and we the people), the truth got out and here is the upshot, from Fox News : The Agriculture Department announced Monday, shortly after FoxNews.com published its initial report on the video, that Sherrod had resigned.
"There is zero tolerance for discrimination at USDA, and I strongly condemn any act of discrimination against any person," Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said in a written statement. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/07/19/clip-shows-usda-official-admitting-withheld-help-white-farmer/

[Next up, before Democrats go home to "meet" their constituency, and more importantly, before they lose their seats in the November elections, comes news that an Energy bill is to be pushed thru the House.] The Hill reports: time is of the essence, as Reid has pledged to begin the energy debate the week of July 26. That would give Democrats two weeks to pass energy reform and confirm Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan by the August recess, scheduled to begin Aug. 6.

The recess is scheduled to last five weeks, giving lawmakers facing tough reelections — including Reid — plenty of time to campaign. The House is scheduled to begin its recess on July 30.

Reid has warned that he may cut a week off the Senate recess if the legislative pace slows.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Google reports:  Earlier this week, Fox News reported that convicted felons voting illegally may have swung the pivotal 2008 Minnesota Senate race in favor of Al Franken.  It appears Democratic Secretary of State Mark Ritchie did little to combat this fraudulent activity.
Mr. Ritchie took office in 2006 thanks in part to the significant financial backing of The Secretary of State Project, a liberal advocacy group funded largely by billionaire George Soros.  Mr. Soros' aim is to capture Secretary of State seats in swing states, establishing an electoral advantage for future elections.  Unfortunately, his plan worked to perfection in Minnesota, as Mr. Ritchie helped deliver the Democrat's 60th vote in the U.S. Senate.

Now, Mr. Soros has turned his attention to Michigan.  His group has made electing Michigan Democrat Jocelyn Benson one of its top priorities. https://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#inbox/129eadfe45129020

What is Fascism; Peggy Noonan Dislikes Obama's Youth; and Is it A Demand or Is It a Tax?

AIP News writes: Fascism is really no more than a system where government, through agreements with the private sector, controls virtually all property and income indirectly.
Prosperity and economic growth become the domain of government.  The philosophical aim is to eliminate recessions by eliminating robust growth -- the underlying philosophy being that if there is no boom, there will be no bust.  This system usually appeals to populations coming out of severe economic depressions and upheaval, as in pre-Nazi Germany during the period of the 1930s.

The problem with the system is obvious:  property-owning democracy must take a back seat to the interests of the state.  And, by blurring the distinction between the private sector and the public sector, individual liberty can often be conditioned on complicity with state aims, as manifested in the private sector sphere.  Why else would German companies like Degesch be willing to supply the infamous Zyclon-B for use in the extermination of their fellow men if not conditioned upon the continued viability of the company and all employees concerned?  Money talks, and when the state controls the powers of production directly or indirectly, it controls the livelihood of millions.  Human beings are capable of such immense evil in exchange for clothing and a full pantry.
Fascism is, however, correctly associated with tyranny since nations that employ the tenets of fascism almost always transition from a republican or parliamentary form of government to some sort of personality cult usually centered on an economic "savior."
President Obama has done just this.
Shortly after he claimed the right to fire the head of a private company, Obama realized he could claim the power to set wages in companies receiving bailout funds.  When these actions were successful, Obama realized he could then claim the power to set wages all across the economy, even venturing as far as attempting government mandates for company perks like private jets or club memberships.

Similarly, when it was clear Congress would not object to Obama claiming the power to declare martial law, in direct violation of historic statute, Obama then contended that, in the event Congress would not cooperate, he would merely rule by decree.  This give-and-take approach has been wildly successful as a means of overcoming major constitutional obstacles to acquisitions of power.

All of Obama's actions have highly fascist overtones.  The fusion of government and the private sector can be observed most clearly in the recent Chicago-style shakedown of BP, wherein Obama forced a private sector company to set up a $20 billion slush fund to be controlled by his team of czars, criminally exceeding his constitutional authority.  Only days after it was clear that this action would not be met with legal challenge, Obama succeeded in passing a financial overhaul bill granting him the authority to seize healthy firms if he deemed them to be at risk, outside of normal bankruptcy procedures which exist expressly for that purpose.  http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/07/american_jeopardy_what_is_fasc.html    [Scared yet?]
[This column reminds me that Obama's mantra is that, in his words, "recognizing that my fate remain tied up with their fates, that my individual salvation is not going to come about without a "collective salvation" for the country.   Unfortunately, I think that recognition requires that we make sacrifices and this country has not always been willing to make the sacrifices that are necessary to bring about a new day and a new age."  [In other words, he and his government must take wealth away from people in order to save people.  Words do mean something, as he says.  Billions of dollars of our money have for decades paid for those who have children in order to get more government hand-outs, for instance.  We are a generous nation, with our taxes and our donations.  It hasn't changed the outlook for those who will not use the free education they are given, who would rather have the government take care of them than go out and make a living, etc. The media were too enamored to inform the masses of what this man was saying and what his words would actually mean to our lives.  In this case "forewarned is forearmed" was overridden by "we want change and hope - and we don't care what kind."  Now we must have change - of an adult, America-loving
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Peggy Noonan [finally]writes:  All right, you know what I think people miss when they look at Washington and our political leadership? They miss old and august. They miss wise and weathered. They miss the presence of bruised and battered veterans of life who've absorbed its facts and lived to tell the tale.
This is a nation—a world—badly in need of adult supervision
Youth is supposed to bring vigor and vision. In general, however, I think we find in our modern political figures that what it really brings is need—for greatness, to be transformative, to leave a legacy. Such clamorous needs! How very boring they are, how puny and small, but how huge in their consequences.
What Mr. Obama needed the past 18 months was a wise man—more on that later—to offer counsel and perspective, a guy who just by walking into the room brings historical context.
Boring: that looks so good right now. Old, that looks so fresh, so new.
[I don't hate to say it - I told you so!  Where was this columnist when this view might have prevented an election of an empty suit to the White House?  She was singing the praises of this exciting man, at least after the election, that's where.  She lost her conservative mantle while worshiping at the feet of a man the media did not vet.]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The New York Times reports:  WASHINGTON — When Congress required most Americans to obtain health insurance or pay a penalty, Democrats denied that they were creating a new tax. But in court, the Obama administration and its allies now defend the requirement as an exercise of the government’s “power to lay and collect taxes.”
And that power, they say, is even more sweeping than the federal power to regulate interstate commerce.[What a shock!]

Another Presidential Cheap Shot;

Hoekstra: Hey That Was A Cheap Shot
U.S. Rep. Pete HOEKSTRA (R-Holland) today said a call out in Holland by President Barack OBAMA was, well, unpresidential.

The congressman reports that the President during his remarks said "some made the political calculation that it's better to obstruct than to lend a hand . . . Now that doesn't stop them from being at ribbon cuttings -- but that's OK."

Hoekstra said he' spent his career fighting against "wasteful federal spending" and against government picking winners and losers.

"I voted against the Democrat's $862 billion stimulus legislation because I knew it was not the right solution to put our economy back on track," Hoekstra said. "But today, as the U.S. Representative for the Second Congressional District of Michigan, I welcomed President Obama to West Michigan. Unfortunately, in my home district, the president did not reciprocate that respect and instead chose to take a cheap political shot."  {Obama said something about those who voted against Stimulus funding and then show up at ribbon cuttings - as usual, in a snarky - I'm so cool - demeanor.  The comedian-in-chief once again...] http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2010/07/obama-criticizes-hoekstra-on-c.html

According to the Washington Post: An al-Qaeda magazine aims to recruit Americans to launch attacks in the United States with such articles as "make a bomb in the kitchen of your mom," a senior U.S. lawmaker said Monday.
The first issue of Inspire was posted online late Sunday by al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. The English-language publication includes an article by Anwar al-Awlaki, a radical U.S.-born Muslim cleric based in Yemen who is wanted by U.S. authorities. Awlaki writes:

The Wall Street Journal writes:  Just a few months ago, amid populist anger at the Fed for failing to prevent the financial crisis of 2008 and bailing out Wall Street, Congress was talking of stripping the central bank of its supervisory oversight of banks or forcing it to submit to congressional audit of its interest-rate decisions.
Instead, the new law gives the Fed more power and a better tool box to help prevent financial crises. It will become the primary regulator for large, complex financial firms of all kinds, such as American International Group, the insurer which built a massive derivatives portfolio that regulators didn't see until it was too late.
In the end, the Fed's emergency lending during the 2008 crisis will face a one-time audit to be published by Dec. 2010 and it will be required—with a two-year lag—to reveal which banks borrow from its discount window. With lobbying from several presidents of the 12 regional Federal Reserve Banks, the Fed also fought off proposals to remove it from supervision of the large number of smaller banks.
"Basically, they ended up winning almost on everything that counts," says Laurence Meyer, a former Fed board governor now with economic consulting firm Macroeconomic Advisers LLC.

From ExposeObamanow: The last time the president held a press conference to talk about the Gulf Coast oil spill it was all about BP. . .they did this, and they did that. And he was making it clear THEY WOULD PAY. There was no sense of WE.. we were not going to assist them in shutting off the flow. WE were not going to bring in the skimmers. WE were not going to clean the beaches.

Today’s press conference was very different. WE closed the spill. WE succeeded. WE did this and WE did that. Today was all about Obama’s victory. Only at the end, when he said; And BP is going to have to pay not only for the clean up, but to reimburse the people and businesses for their losses, that BP was mentioned.

To this president…. all problems belong to someone else … and all successes are a result of his action. [He once again proves that he in no way is a leader.]

"Directly supporting efforts to register ‘yes’ voters and ‘get out the yes vote’ means the U.S. government is running a political campaign in Kenya. U.S. taxpayer funds should not be used to support one side or the other," he added.

Aim Organization reports: On “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” Vice President Joseph Biden called the exchange [giving up 10 Russian spies and getting only 4 back from Russia] a “good deal” and said that he would have preferred keeping the good-looking Russian woman spy and giving Rush Limbaugh to the Kremlin. [Aren't we so lucky to have a President and Vice President who are both so entertaining, so outspoken against good American citizens, and so smug?]
Writing on the website of World Affairs, Vladimir Kara-Murza says that Yelena Bonner, the widow of academician Andrei Sakharov and a prominent advocate of human rights in Russia, “called the swap a missed opportunity and denounced the Obama administration not only for agreeing to an unequal exchange (ten for four) but, more importantly, for not requesting the freeing of more political prisoners, of whom there are scores in today’s Russia.”
The hastily-arranged “spy swap” ended any chance of finding out in detail in a public forum what kind of information the Russian intelligence service had been collecting and who in the U.S. Government had possibly been recruited or used as assets and contacts.
The book, Comrade J, identifies Strobe Talbott, a former high-ranking Clinton State Department official  and the current president of the Brookings Institution, a major liberal think tank, as having been a trusted contact of the Russian intelligence service. Talbott has denied serving as a Russian agent, but when he was up for his State Department job in the Clinton Administration, he admitted a relationship with Soviet “journalist” and KGB agent Victor Louis.
Holder had no real answer to CBS “Face the Nation” host Bob Schieffer’s question of why, after spending so many years following these agents, they were not prosecuted. Holder could only claim that the 10 were somehow not as valuable as the four we got. In terms of math alone, it just doesn’t add up.
Documents in the case, as we have reported, demonstrate that the Russian agents were seeking information about the proposed arms treaty with Russia and other nuclear weapons information. That treaty, the New START, has now been signed and submitted to the Senate for ratification. It is being criticized by conservatives for giving Russia a strategic and tactical advantage in nuclear weapons.
One document says four Obama Administration officials were specifically targeted in the intelligence-gathering effort. But their names were omitted from the Justice Department documents about the case. If they actively conspired with the Russians, shouldn’t they be identified and arrested and prosecuted?
However, there is another possible reason for the quick release of the Russian agents. It is that powerful U.S. business interests told the Obama Administration that an unfolding spy scandal—and a public court case—could damage their business dealings with the Russian government. http://www.aim.org/aim-column/the-russian-agents-obama-and-the-cover-up/

Taken collectively, the regulatory activity now underway is so overwhelming and beyond anything we have ever seen, that we risk moving this country away from a government of the people to a government of regulators,” Donahue said.
But the move to deny Jarrett a speaking spot at their event pulled back the curtain on the relationship between the Chamber, which has traditionally been one of Washington’s most powerful interest groups, and the Obama White House, which has made a point of trying to weaken the Chamber.

From OneNewShow comes this:  Now comes word that $160 million in federal money will be used in Pennsylvania to finance a "high-risk insurance pool" plan that includes abortion -- and those funds reportedly are available immediately. Diane Gramley of the American Family Association of Pennsylvania says she saw the writing on the wall when the order was signed.  While Pennsylvania is the first state to be notified of such funding, Gramley says plans in other states will also cover abortions with taxpayer money used to finance them -- unless they have opted out. "The way it's written, it will cover all abortions except sex selection," she explains. "So if you want to abort your baby because it's a boy and you wanted a girl, it would not help subsidize those abortions." An Amazing Speech -And A Fun Sam I Am

American Suicide

We know Dick Lamm as the former Governor of Colorado. In that context
his thoughts are particularly poignant. Last week there was an
immigration overpopulation conference in Washington , DC , filled to
capacity by many of America 's finest minds and leaders. A brilliant
college professor by the name of Victor Hansen Davis talked about his
latest book, 'Mexifornia,' explaining how immigration - both legal and
illegal was destroying the entire state of California . He said it would
march across the country until it destroyed all vestiges of The American
Dream.

Moments later, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm stood up and
gave a stunning speech on how to destroy America

The audience sat spellbound as he described eight methods for the
destruction of the United States . He said, 'If you believe that
America is too smug, too self-satisfied, too rich, then let's destroy
America . It is not that hard to do. No nation in history has survived
the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all great
civilizations rise and fall and that 'An autopsy of history would show
that all great nations commit suicide.''

'Here is how they do it,' Lamm said:

'First, to destroy America , turn America into a bilingual or multi-lingual and bicultural country...
History shows that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of two or more
competing languages and cultures. It is a blessing for an individual to be bilingual; however, it is a curse for a society to be bilingual. The historical scholar, Seymour Lipset, put it this way: 'The histories of bilingual and bicultural societies that do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension, and tragedy.' Canada , Belgium , Malaysia , and Lebanon all face crises of national existence in which minorities press for autonomy , if not independence. Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. Nigeria suppressed an ethnic rebellion. France faces difficulties with Basques, Bretons, Corsicans and Muslims.'

Lamm went on:

'Second, to destroy America , invent 'multiculturalism' and encourage immigrants to maintain their culture. Make it an article of belief that all cultures are equal; that there are no cultural differences. Make it an article of faith that the Black and Hispanic dropout rates are due
solely to prejudice and discrimination by the majority. Every other explanation is out of bounds.

'Third, we could make the United States an 'Hispanic Quebec ' without much effort. The key is to celebrate diversity rather than unity.
As Benjamin Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly recently: 'The apparent success of our own multi-ethnic and multicultural experiment might have been achieved not by tolerance but by hegemony. Without the dominance that once dictated ethnocentricy and what it meant to be an American, we are left with only tolerance and pluralism to hold us together.' Lamm said, 'I would encourage all immigrants to keep their own language and culture. I would replace the melting pot metaphor with the salad bowl metaphor. It is important to ensure that we have various cultural
subgroups living in America enforcing their differences rather than as Americans, emphasizing their similarities.'

'Fourth, I would make our fastest growing demographic group the least educated. I would add a second underclass, unassimilated, undereducated, and antagonistic to our population.
I would have this second underclass have a 50% dropout rate from high school.'

'My fifth point for destroying America would be to get big foundations and business to give these efforts lots of money. I would invest in ethnic identity, and I would establish the cult of 'Victimology.'
I would get all minorities to think that their lack of success was the fault of the majority. I would start a grievance industry blaming all minority failure on the majority.'

'My sixth plan for America 's downfall would include dual citizenship, and promote divided loyalties. I would celebrate diversity over unity.
I would stress differences rather than similarities. Diverse people worldwide are mostly engaged in hating each other - that is, when they are not killing each other. A diverse, peaceful, or stable society is against most historical precept. People undervalue the unity it takes to keep a nation together. Look at the ancient Greeks. The Greeks believed that they belonged to the same race; they possessed a common language and literature; and they worshipped the same gods. All Greece took part in the Olympic games.. A common enemy, Persia , threatened their liberty.
Yet all these bonds were not strong enough to overcome two factors: local patriotism and geographical conditions that nurtured political divisions. Greece fell. 'E. Pluribus Unum' -- From many, one. In that historical reality, if we put the emphasis on the 'pluribus' instead of
the 'Unum,' we will 'Balkanize' America as surely as Kosovo.'

'Next to last, I would place all subjects off limits. Make it taboo to talk about anything against the cult of 'diversity.'
I would find a word similar to 'heretic' in the 16th century - that stopped discussion and paralyzed thinking. Words like 'racist' or 'xenophobe' halt discussion and debate. Having made America a bilingual/bicultural country, having established multi-cultum, having the large foundations fund the doctrine of 'Victimology,' I would next make it impossible to enforce our immigration laws. I would develop a mantra: That because immigration has been good for America , it must always be good. I would make every individual immigrant symmetric and ignore the cumulative impact of millions of them.'

In the last minute of his speech, Governor Lamm wiped his brow. Profound silence followed. Finally he said, 'Lastly, I would censor Victor Hanson Davis 's book 'Mexifornia.' His book is dangerous. It exposes the plan to destroy America .. If you feel America deserves to be destroyed, don't read that book.'

There was no applause. A chilling fear quietly rose like an ominous cloud above every attendee at the conference. Every American in that room knew that everything Lamm enumerated was proceeding methodically, quietly, darkly, yet pervasively across the United States today.
Discussion is being suppressed. Over 100 languages are ripping the foundation of our educational system and national cohesiveness. Even barbaric cultures that practice female genital mutilation are growing as we celebrate 'diversity.' American jobs are vanishing into the Third World as corporations create a Third World in America Take note of California and other states. Todate, ten million illegal aliens and growing fast. It is reminiscent of George Orwell's book '1984.' In that story, three slogans are engraved in the Ministry of Truth building:
'War is peace,' 'Freedom is slavery,' and 'Ignorance is strength.'

Governor Lamm walked back to his seat. It dawned on everyone at the  conference that our nation and the future of this great democracy is deeply in trouble and worsening fast. If we don't get this immigration monster stopped within three years, it will rage like a California
wildfire and destroy everything in its path, especially The American Dream.

Kenya Abortions; Our Radical Justice Department;

The Washington Times reports: J. Christian Adams, until recently a career attorney in the Voting Section of the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, testified under oath on July 6 about an increasingly radical Justice Department before the U.S. Civil Rights Commission.
According to Mr. Adams, Deputy Assistant Attorney General Julie Fernandes last November instructed prosecutors on the "motor voter" law that governs voter registration. Regarding that statute's Section 8 - which requires that local officials purge their rolls of relocated, ineligible and dead voters - Mr. Adams recalls hearing Ms. Fernandes, an Obama political appointee, say: "We have no interest in enforcing this provision of the law. It has nothing to do with increasing turnout, and we are just not going to do it." Such lawlessness, of course, invites ACORN-style vote fraud.  http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/jul/8/team-obama-turns-blind-eye-to-voter-intimidation/print/

It is here that you will find the video of:
A Mexican-born candidate for U.S. Senate said he is considering a lawsuit against the Missouri secretary of state for discrimination because her office forced him to produce a birth certificate but "didn’t make Obama show proof of citizenship" to appear on the ballot.
Hector Maldonado, 38, a self-described "Lincolnian Republican conservative," is seeking the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in Missouri. He was born one of 10 children in Durango, Mexico.Maldonado explains why he thinks his rights were violated when the secretary of state’s office asked for proof of U.S. citizenship when he filed to run for the Senate.
Maldonado, a U.S. Army combat veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, explains on his website that he became a U.S. citizen in 1995. But he said Secretary of State Robin Carnahan sent him a letter in May asking him to produce documentation.
"It said, ‘Hey, you have to prove you’re a citizen.’ I ignored it," he said. "You know, Obama ignored it, so I figured I could get away with it, too."
