[I hope you like the fact that this Administration has spend $20 million dollars on signs touting that Obama's Stimulus plan is paying for various project. It's just more of our money, but makes Obama look so good, doesn't it?] This is from ABC http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/signs-stimulus/story?id=11163180

The Daily Caller writes: The U.S. Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday rejected a request from top White House adviser Valerie Jarrett to speak at a jobs summit hosted by the business group, the latest escalation in an ongoing war between the two camps.
Taken collectively, the regulatory activity now underway is so overwhelming and beyond anything we have ever seen, that we risk moving this country away from a government of the people to a government of regulators,” Donahue said.
But the move to deny Jarrett a speaking spot at their event pulled back the curtain on the relationship between the Chamber, which has traditionally been one of Washington’s most powerful interest groups, and the Obama White House, which has made a point of trying to weaken the Chamber.

From Investors Business Daily: Hysteria: A federal report indicates that the runaway Toyota problem was mainly driver error, not a manufacturing or design issue. So when do the official government and media apologies begin? [Considering the fact that many American car companies also have large recalls, but the mighty Washington regime does nothing to condemn them, some might wonder it Obama's interference in this (again, before the facts were known) might just have been his way to put a foreing competitor out of business.] http://www.investors.com/NewsAndAnalysis/Article/540388/201007141854/Sudden-Exaggeration.aspx

Washington Times reports: A week after suing Arizona and arguing that the state's immigration law creates a patchwork of rules, the Obama administration said it will not go after so-called sanctuary cities that refuse to cooperate with the federal government on immigration enforcement, on the grounds that they are not as bad as a state that "actively interferes. [So, it's okay NOT to follow US law, but it creates a lawsuit for those who DO follow the US laws. That's about right - for this regime called Barack Obama's presidency.]

Politico reports: Senate Republicans are demanding to hear from Don Berwick, the physician President Barack Obama recess-appointed last week to run the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Republicans on the Finance Committee, which has jurisdiction over the post, say that not holding a hearing with Berwick would “result in circumventing the open public review that should take place for a nomination of such importance” and “casts a shadow over his legitimacy and authority to serve as administrator during a critical time for CMS.” They argue in a letter to Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0710/39759.html
As the Washington Examiner writes, concerning a column by Daniel Henniger: Presidents can appoint but the House has no obligation whatsoever to fund positions held by individuals whose views are clearly noxious to the maintenance of the constitutional morality that insures republican stability. You cannot persuade an opponent who has nuked you once from doing it again and again without responding with such force that the costs he must bear are unacceptable to him.

The left, according to the Washington Examiner, "continues to try to renovate Van Jones' reputation. Jones, the former green jobs czar who disappeared from the White House in a late-night resignation after it was revealed he had signed a 9/11 Truther petition, is one of the headliners at the Hamptons Institute gathering of lefties this weekend."

CNS news follows this: A proposed sex education program that teaches fifth-graders the different ways people have intercourse and first-graders about gay love has infuriated parents and forced the school board to take a closer look at the issue. Helena school trustees were swamped Tuesday night at a hearing that left many of the hundreds of parents in attendance standing outside a packed board room. They urged the school board in this city nestled in the Rocky Mountains to take the sex education program back to the drawing board. http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/69468 [The school is now reconsidering its position.]

From OneNewShow comes this: Now comes word that $160 million in federal money will be used in Pennsylvania to finance a "high-risk insurance pool" plan that includes abortion -- and those funds reportedly are available immediately. Diane Gramley of the American Family Association of Pennsylvania says she saw the writing on the wall when the order was signed. While Pennsylvania is the first state to be notified of such funding, Gramley says plans in other states will also cover abortions with taxpayer money used to finance them -- unless they have opted out. "The way it's written, it will cover all abortions except sex selection," she explains. "So if you want to abort your baby because it's a boy and you wanted a girl, it would not help subsidize those abortions." But anything else can be covered, she adds. http://www.onenewsnow.com/Politics/Default.aspx?id=1088892

American Spectator writes this: What's black and white and "red" all over? The Department of Justice's newly designed website. Gone are the standard red, white, and blue motifs, replaced by an all-black backdrop. And prominently placed on virtually every page of the site is a quote credited to a man who facilitated a greater role for socialists and communists at the U.N., and the global "workers rights movement." http://spectator.org/archives/2010/07/16/with-liberty-and-global-justic [Everywhere we look, Obama's anti-America agenda shows its ugly head. Sometimes subtle, but inching away from our ideals just the same.]

Good letter to the editor; however, it would not fully print out on my screen...something about the format prevented it from showing the complete sentence on the right margins...
