Picking on one Supreme Court Justice; Obama's Marijuana; Al Sharpton a suspected money launderer; Suing Georgeton U for inviting Kathleen Sebelius; Highway robbery in Tennessee; Newport Beach charging Obama with a bill for security; Obama's lies about being tightfisted; Kansas blocks Islamic law; U.S. vets for Romney; Free plastic surgery for teachers in Buffalo; Islam Rising; Obama might lose Texas primary

Dedicated leftist Senator Patrick Leahy directed a 2000 word dissertation at the Court from the Senate floor, selecting as his principle target Chief Justice John Roberts.  He ridiculed conservative justices for their tough questioning of principle ObamaCare advocate Solicitor General Donald Verilli during oral arguments, stating “their action will not help restore American’s confidence in the Court to fairly apply the law.”And he alternately praised and threatened the Chief Justice, literally claiming that if Roberts joined other conservatives in a 5-4 decision against ObamaCare it would “…undoubtedly further erode the reputation and legitimacy of the Supreme Court.” http://www.exposeobama.com/2012/05/25/dem-senator-threatens-supreme-court/

Barry was quite the accomplished marijuana enthusiast back in high school and college. Excerpts from David Maraniss' Barack Obama: The Story dealing with the elaborate drug culture surrounding the president when he attended Punahou School in Honolulu and Occidental College in Los Angeles. He inhaled. A lot. Along with TA, Barry popularized the concept of "roof hits": when they were chooming in the car all the windows had to be rolled up so no smoke blew out and went to waste; when the pot was gone, they tilted their heads back and sucked in the last bit of smoke from the ceiling. [This puts into context his quote in his book about being in a drug and alcohol induced haze for the last two years of high school.  No wonder he had to make a "composite" Obama, declaring himself to have been born in Kenya in order to qualify as a foreign minority student with less than acceptable grades to get into Harvard.]  http://www.buzzfeed.com/gavon/a-users-guide-to-smoking-pot-with-barack-obama

So now Montana’s environmental movement are circling the wagons (or perhaps they are eco-friendly Toyota Priuses) and trying to put a stop to a plan that could result in as many as 60 coal trains a day heading from Montana’s coal fields to proposed export terminals in Oregon and Washington.
You see, there is one country that still believes in development, that still believes in growth, that still believes in economic prosperity for its people — and that country is China. Yep, the People’s Republic of China, but curiously the communists in China are more friendly to capitalist development than the good folks in MIssoula, Montana.
But the folks in Missoula are really just pawns in a worldwide enterprise to shut down coal and other natural resource development. In the case of coal, the excuse is “climate change” — that catch-all bogeyman that anti-capitalists have found useful to trick people into opposing development of all kinds.
The Obama administration has been targeting coal-fired plants with environmental regulations that are strangling the life out of the industry. Prices for electricity back East are skyrocketing as a result, but wait a minute — isn’t that what candidate Obama promised to do?http://www.dailyinterlake.com/opinion/columns/frank/article_18ccf7b4-a748-11e1-a3d1-0019bb2963f4.html

The 7th annual International Climate Change Conference ended on Wednesday with growing signs that skeptics are making steady progress in their efforts to turn back the tide of the alarmists.
The EPA's war on coal will result in the closure of 319 coal-fueled generating units totaling 42,895 megawatts, about 13 percent of the nation's coal fleet, according to the Sierra Club. This will result in consumers being hit with a 10-15% increase in their electric bills by 2015. That's an extra $150-$330 per year. The author of best-selling novel “The Exorcist” says he plans to sue alma mater Georgetown University in a Vatican court after the Catholic school invited Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to speak on campus.
The author, William Peter Blatty, says the Jesuit-founded university in Washington has for the past two decades invited speakers who support abortion rights and has refused to comply with orders by the late Pope John Paul II for church-affiliated colleges and universities.
The “last straw” was the university allowing students to invite Sebelius to speak May 18, considering she was instrumental in helping President Obama draft health care reform that includes a mandate for some religious institutions to offer insurance to cover employees’ birth-control costs

It appears that anyone visiting Tennessee this summer should leave their cash at home. A New Jersey man has encountered an outrageous policy among police in that state to seize large amounts of cash from out-of-state visitors without any probable cause of a crime. The practice brings a new meaning to “highway robbery.”
A professional insurance adjuster, George Reby, was traveling through the state from New Jersey when he was stopped and asked by Officer Larry Bates if he had large amounts of cash. He said that he did — $22,000. The officer demanded the money and said that he was confiscating the money on suspicion of drug activity. That is it. The mere fact that he was carrying a large amount of cash was enough under this policy to seize the money. The police know that many out-of-state travelers never come back for the cash and they are then allowed to keep the money for their own uses at the department. http://jonathanturley.org/2012/05/24/highway-robbery-tennessee-police-are-seizing-cash-from-out-of-state-visitors-in-policy-called-policing-for-profit/

The overwhelmingly Republican, exceedingly wealthy Southern California beach town of Newport Beach has slapped the Obama campaign with the bill for its February fundraising visit to the Corona del Mar neighborhood. The affluent community's City Manager Dave Kiff is behind the unprecedented billing, arguing that since the visit was campaign-related, not official presidential business, the Obama campaign should pay for the increased security, as would any private event. The bill's due date of June 9 is fast approaching, but there has been as yet no response from the Obama campaign offices in Chicago.  http://now.msn.com/money/0527-newport-beach-bills-Obama.aspx-

WASHINGTON -- The White House is aggressively pushing the idea that, contrary to widespread belief, President Barack Obama is tightfisted with taxpayer dollars. To back it up, the administration cites a media report that claims federal spending is rising at the slowest pace since the Eisenhower years.
"Federal spending since I took office has risen at the slowest pace of any president in almost 60 years," Obama said at a campaign rally Thursday in Des Moines, Iowa.
The problem with that rosy claim is that the Wall Street bailout is part of the calculation. The bailout ballooned the 2009 budget just before Obama took office, making Obama's 2010 results look smaller in comparison. And as almost $150 billion of the bailout was paid back during Obama's watch, the analysis counted them as government spending cuts.
It also assumes Obama had less of a role setting the budget for 2009 than he really did. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/26/obama-spending-claim_n_1547737.html?ref=email_share

Teachers in Buffalo are getting plastic surgery on the tax payer’s buck, it has been revealed.
Tummy tucks, liposuction and Botox are all part of the controversial one of a kind health plan.
The teachers themselves claim to be the lowest paid in the state, and say that they deserve ‘a little something extra’, describing the procedures as ‘a perk’.
But it is a perk that comes with a price tag.
Last year Buffalo schools paid $5.9 million for its teachers to have plastic surgery. In 2010 the figure was up at $9 million.
With an average salary of $52,000 a year for the city’s teachers, an extra 100 educators could be employed for that cost, theatlantic.com reported.
60 teachers spent $30,000 each on procedures in 2011, an investigation by the school board revealed, and because the schools are self-insured, tax payers foot the bill.

Islam Rising: The Never Ending Jihad Against Christianity
By Jim Murk|
21st Century Press, 2006,

Dr. Jim Murk opens Islam Rising with the proposal that when history looks back on the turn of the 21st Century, three phenomena will stand out: the rapid world-wide expansion of grassroots Christianity, the resurrection of the nation of Israel, and the surging rise of militant Islam.

The author draws disturbing parallels between Nazism, Communism and Islamic fundamentalism, pointing out that the three have used the same techniques – mass killing or murder of millions of inconvenient and innocent persons, hatred as a part of their philosophy, manipulative propaganda and totalitarian systems to impose their will on others.
He contrasts Islam and Christianity by pointing out that Christianity desires to win others by persuasion, while Islam envisions a military type takeover of all the nations of the world.
Murk has extensive credentials, holding master’s degrees in cultural anthropology and theology. He also earned a Ph.D. degree and developed a course called “The Islamic Culture Sphere” for Wheaton College.
His insights are provocative and sobering. http://www.afajournal.org/2007/march/0307_book%20reviews.asp

Don't look now, but President Obama could actually lose his party's nomination contest in this week's Democratic primary contest in Texas.  Probably not to any one of the three candidates opposing him, but he could still get less than 50% of the Democrat votes in the Texas Democratic primary.  That would be pretty embarrassing.  Almost a "no confidence" vote among Democrats.
