Stay Out of Three Southern Arizona Counties; Gulf Clean-up; and Health Care Law's Consequences

Our federal government is now telling American citizens to stay out of three southern Arizona counties. It is too dangerous because of armed smugglers from Mexico.
Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu: "Quite frankly I’m telling you as a sheriff that we don’t control that part of the county. My county is larger than the state of Connecticut and we need support from the federal government. It’s their job to secure the border and they haven’t done it. In fact President Obama suspended the construction of the fence".
FOX News reporter: Would you like to see some of the president’s outrage about the oil spill and some of the butt-kicking that he’s talked about doing applied there on the border as well?
Sheriff Paul Babeu: "Even with that, you say one thing and then you’re out at a fundraiser in California and you don’t go to the funeral of the people who died in the explosion. You know its one thing to say something slick on television in a ten second soundbite but we need action. And, it’s shameful that we as the most powerful nation on earth can win wars and liberate countries throughout history yet we can’t even secure our own border".  [This is NORTH of Tucson!-this is totally outrageous, dangerous, and unprecedented!]

When asked what President Obama needs to do to prove to Americans that his administration is on top of the Gulf cleanup, Ed Schultz pressed that the President needs to call the shots and go "dictator" in his dealings with BP.   "When does the President become a dictator on this?" Schultz asked in an outburst. "When does the President start really calling the shots and saying 'This is the number. This is what you're going to pay. We're not going to let you off the hook.'?"  [Progressives eventually do show what they really are all about.  It is not the job of our President to dictate terms, however much we might like the outcome.  He really should have no power to tell a foreign or domestic company what they MUST do!  He is once again usurping the power of Congress.  This is not yet the country of dictators!]

Karl Rove:  Which brings us to President Obama's many claims about his health-care reform. Take his oft-expressed statement that if you like the coverage you have, you can keep it. That sounds good—but perverse incentives in his new law will cause most Americans to lose their existing insurance.
This was brought home to me when I asked the CEO of a major restaurant chain about health reform's effect on his company, which now spends $25 million a year on employee health insurance. That will jump to at least $90 million a year once the new law is phased in. It will be cheaper, he told me, for the company to dump its coverage and pay a fine—$2,000 for each full-time worker—and make sure that no part-time employee accidentally worked 31 hours and thereby incurred the fine.
It's also dawning on employees that they will lose their coverage. Some will blame management; many more will blame those who wrote this terrible legislation.
Employees who lose coverage get to select a policy from a government-sponsored insurance marketplace called the "exchange." This will be subsidized by taxpayers. Depending on his income, a worker will have to pay between 8% and 9.8% of the cost.
The proposed rules could cause as many as half of all workers to lose their existing coverage.  Health plans would no longer be grandfathered if a business changes insurance companies (a common practice when employers shop for lower prices), raises deductibles more than 5%, drops any existing benefits, or evem increases co-pays by as little as $5.  [This is a big "We told you so!"]

CBS)  On Sept. 10, 2001, [one day prior to 9/11]  Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld declared war. Not on foreign terrorists, "the adversary's closer to home. It's the Pentagon bureaucracy," he said.

He said money wasted by the military poses a serious threat. "In fact, it could be said it's a matter of life and death," he said.

Rumsfeld promised change but the next day – Sept. 11-- the world changed and in the rush to fund the war on terrorism, the war on waste seems to have been forgotten.
[And now Obama has selected an appointee of our government to control the funds from BP]

  1. I think it is beyond acceptable that we cannot use our own country but must "yield" some of it to ILLEGALS !!! What in the world is America coming to under the "leadership" of this guy ?! He is way far, far incompetent and more calculating in his desire to wreck everything we have stood for...Hope and Change is now happening all right--and it is very bad, very bad.
