Notable Quotes from Obama and his Inaugural

President Obama surprised the press corps with a visit Thursday night, and once again displayed how he will act when not using a speech, as well as displaying once again his "open" administration style. He will deflect any tough questions when he doesn't want or isn't prepared to answer, and is trying to teach the press about the inappropriateness of tough questions.
He was asked how he could reconcile a strict ban on lobbyists in his administration with a Deputy Defense Secretary nominee who lobbied for Raytheon. President Obama simply smiled and said: "Ahh, see," he said, "I came down here to visit. See this is what happens. I can't end up visiting with you guys and shaking hands if I'm going to get grilled every time I come down here."

Rev. Joseph Lowery, in his race-baiting, bigoted "Benediction" at President Obama's Inaugural asked God to:

... help us work for that day when black will not be asked to give back, when brown can stick around, when yellow will be mellow, when the red man can get ahead, man, and when white will embrace what is right."

Since the President smiled and nodded, I guess with this "historic" President in office, blacks will not be asked to give back (think of the proposed tax rebate for those who don't even pay taxes). This is Obama's idea of "remaking America". And if this Inaugural isn't proof that whites may have already embraced what in black minds is right - what is the Reverend expecting? In his benediction, the Reverend purposely denigrated the Asians and the Caucasians of America and told illegals that they should be allowed to break our laws and stay in America, attaining citizenship before those who are trying to do so in a legal way. What does this choice of benediction and benediction-giver say about the judgment of Barack Obama, and his "hope" of putting aside childish things...... " Words - just words - don't tell me words don't matter!", as Obama said during his campaign.

  1. I felt a mixture of emotions from hearing the Rev. comment. I couldn't believe he said that. I was angry, disappointed and sad...sad that he could be so ignorant. Embrace what is right??? How can a comment like that be right!!
