While taking calls from left wing bloggers, President Obama was asked if it is true that Section 102 of the House HealthCare
Bill would outlaw private insurance. He asked if people will be able to keep their insurance. Obama replied: “You know, I have to say that I am not familiar with the provision you are talking about.” [But still he asks us to put aside our concerns and just get this bill passed...]

Page 425 is where the Congress would make it mandatory that every five years people in Medicare have a required "counseling session", where they will be able to tell seniors how to end their life sooner." Well, that is, except for the old people in Congress or working for the government, for they get to keep their private insurance.....

The proposal specifically calls for the consultation to recommend "palliative care and hospice" for seniors in their mandatory counseling sessions. Palliative care and hospice generally focus only on pain relief until death.

The measure requires "an explanation by the practitioner of the continuum of end-of-life services and supports available, including palliative care and hospice, and benefits for such services and supports that are available under this title." The use of "helpful" documents such as advance directives and a health care proxy would be explained.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In an article in the Wall Street Journal it is noted that Obama's Congressional Budget Office Director Peter Orszag sent a letter to Capitol Hill which asks for the creation of yet another new agency, this one with the power to cut spending and implement changes in Medicare.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When House Republicans recently wrote a constituency letter which states that ‘House Democrats unveiled a government-run health care plan,’”, the Franking Commission , which determines which letters can be sent to constituents on the tax payer dime, ordained that ‘You cannot use that language. You must use, ‘The House majority unveiled a public option health care plan,’or ‘just last week the House majority unveiled a health care plan which I believe will cost taxpayers…’” This surely seems to me to be a free speech issue, which used to be guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States. It leaves one to wonder what restraints are being put on supposed misstatements by the Democrats in their constituent letters. My guess is -none- as it should be.... Republicans will be forced to use the Democrats’ version of language describing their attempted government takeover of healthcare on their official communications with their constituents or they will have to pay for the postage personally.

Excerpted from Matt Barber of Townhall: The president has more "czars" running around than Mother Russia. It's mondo bizarro. Kind of fitting, though; must be a communist thing. Obama has chosen Harvard professor John Holdren as "science czar" providing the latest example of just how bad America really muffed it last November. It could give us a sneak-peak into the not-so-distant future should this Obamacare-health-scare become reality.

In the name of population control, Holdren has advocated both forced abortion and compulsory sterilization through government-administered tainting of the water supply. In a book he co-authored, entitled "Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment," Holdren calls for a "Planetary Regime" to enforce mandatory abortions and limit the use of natural resources.

He writes: "There exists ample authority under which population growth could be regulated. It has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society." [To which I add that this will become one of Obama's "Major Crisis Moments"]

Holdren further suggests that since "[a]dding a sterilant to drinking water or staple foods is a suggestion that seems to horrify people more than most proposals for involuntary fertility control," such an approach would have to "meet some rather stiff requirements; … be uniformly effective; … free of dangerous or unpleasant side effects;" and pass both PETA and AARP muster by having "no effect on members of the opposite sex, children, old people, pets, or livestock."

Czar Holdren further postulates that "a comprehensive Planetary Regime could control the development, administration, conservation, and distribution of all natural resources, renewable or nonrenewable. The Planetary Regime might be given responsibility for determining the optimum population for the world and for each region and for arbitrating various countries' shares within their regional limits."

[I know, I know - some will say that this man wrote this book in the 70's and that just because he was so intent on the ideas that he wrote a book chronicling it does not mean that this is how he will ACT during his Czarship. Right..... of course not. Well, only if he feels he can get away with it! It is yet another example of the sorts of people whom Obama chooses to lead our country, this time via a Czar with no Congressional oversite - RADICAL people with RADICAL, hate-America ideas...] I must read 1984

As President Barack Obama's health-care push enters a critical phase, senior Democrats in Congress are scrambling to keep their own party members on board. Democrats are considering scaling back proposed taxes on the rich, reconsidering taxing employer health benefits, and possibly trimming the total cost of the package to make subsidies for the uninsured less generous than advocates have sought.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From Fox News: A key House committee on Tuesday indefinitely postponed voting on health care reform legislation, after Democratic leaders were unable to line up enough votes from moderate members of their own party. The House Energy and Commerce Committee canceled the session as it faced serious concerns about the legislation from fiscally conservative Blue Dog Democrats, who hold a large number of seats on the panel.

Why is that man that sits illegally in the Oval Office spending OUR tax dollars to give 12 million (at least) illegal aliens free health insurance? Who does he really think he is; the health fairy? Who told him he could spend all these taxpayers’ dollars on people who broke the law to sneak into this country instead of waiting their turn like the good people of Europe and other countries who wait their turn on our standard immigration lists

From Joseph Curl of the Washington Times:

President Obama on Monday extended by six months a task force charged with determining how terrorism suspects should be interrogated, held in custody or handed over to other countries, putting in jeopardy his promise to close the military detention facility at the U.S. Naval Base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, by January.

The move came on the same day the president pushed back the release of a congressionally mandated report on the nation's economic conditions, and the White House began to extend a self-imposed deadline for overhauling the nation's health care system.

Pushing back the deadline on how to handle 229 Gitmo detainees, among them five suspects in the Sept. 11 attacks, including accused mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, illustrates just how complicated it is to solve the campaign issue that Mr. Obama this month called "one of the biggest challenges of my administration." [Perhaps our President has once again shown his "empty suit" status as well as his pandering to his left-wing fanatics by suggesting a closing of Gitmo in the first place. It is a good sign that he is capable of learning the hard, cold facts of war.]

From Reuters: North Korea, bristling at being described by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as behaving like an unruly child, responded in kind Thursday, calling her vulgar and less then clever.

Clinton is in Thailand for a major regional security meeting where she is urging governments to keep pressing North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons program and enforce sanctions against the reclusive state.

"She has made a spate of vulgar remarks unbecoming for her position everywhere she went since she was sworn in," North Korea's KCNA news agency quoted a foreign ministry spokesman as saying.

It said her comments earlier in the week that North Korean behavior such as a recent spate of missile launches was like an unruly child demanding attention "suggests she is by no means intelligent."

From Congress Daily: Senator Grassley said he spoke with a Democratic House member last week who shared Obama's bleak reaction during a private meeting to reports that some factions of House Democrats were lining up to stall or even take down the [healthcare] overhaul unless leaders made major changes.

"Let's just lay everything on the table," Grassley said. "A Democrat congressman last week told me after a conversation with the president that the president had trouble in the House of Representatives, and it wasn't going to pass if there weren't some changes made ... and the president says, 'You're going to destroy my presidency.' "

The White House did not respond to requests for comment.

In the realm of too outrageous to even believe, except it's true: The Hill reports: The chairman of the Senate Democratic Policy Committee quashed an effort by the Treasury Department to hire a cartoonist. Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.) contacted the Treasury Department to complain after Matt Drudge’s website linked to a want ad for contractors with the “ability to create cartoons on the spot about [Bureau of the Public Debt] jobs.”
And while we are talking about ourtageous statements, here's another good one!
Vice President Joe Biden (CNSNews.com) – Vice President Joe Biden told people attending an AARP town hall meeting that unless the Democrat-supported health care plan becomes law the nation will go bankrupt and that the only way to avoid that fate is for the government to spend more money.

“And folks look, AARP knows and the people with me here today know, the president knows, and I know, that the status quo is simply not acceptable,” Biden said at the event on Thursday in Alexandria, Va. “It’s totally unacceptable. And it’s completely unsustainable. Even if we wanted to keep it the way we have it now. It can’t do it financially.”

“We’re going to go bankrupt as a nation,” Biden said.

“Now, people when I say that look at me and say, ‘What are you talking about, Joe? You’re telling me we have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt?’” Biden said. “The answer is yes, that's what I’m telling you.” [To which I say that it's almost unbelievable that the same government whose President is suggesting that if one is OLD, one must just deal with it so as not to overburden the system with demands for care can with a straight face promote their elderly-unfriendly agenda to the elderly themselves!]

FRom It Takes Work To Feel This Good Blog:
The {healthcare} bill also provides for the creation of a new federal bureaucracy called the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology. This agency will monitor your medical treatments to ensure that your physician is only providing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The underlying intent is to cut health care costs by “guiding” your doctor’s decisions around treatment.

According to Tom Daschle, reform of the health care system will “not be pain free”. He alludes to the fact that senior citizens should accept the onset of age related conditions instead of seeking treatment for them. Currently, Medicare pays for treatment deemed effective and safe. The stimulus bill provision will change that and implement a cost-effectiveness factor into the treatment options to be offered. In other words, Medicare will no longer cover many of the treatments currently being prescribed to our parents and grandparents. And who determines these cost-effectiveness standards? Another new federal agency called the Federal Council.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From Frugal Cafe Blog Zone: The Bureau of Public Debt, part of the US Treasury Department, decided to hire its own CARTOONIST to create amusing cartoons to “lighten up” work place meetings and make Americans forget that they are losing their jobs, losing their homes, facing skyrocketing taxes and rising Federal debt, paying for a non-stimulus package that has been wasted and given to political cronies, and can barely put food on the table. [ This is a perfect illustration of the fact that empty suits fill many jobs in our government!]

Not in my words, but important to know: Protesters gathered outside a Chicago area hotel Sunday as an Islamic extremist group reportedly linked to Al Qaeda held its first official conference on U.S. soil in an attempt to step up Western recruitment efforts.

Members of Hizb ut-Tahrir — a global Sunni network with reported ties to confessed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Al Qaeda in Iraq's onetime leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi — met Sunday inside a Hilton hotel to host a conference, "The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of Islam."

Hizb ut-Tahrir insists that it does not engage in terrorism, and it is not recognized by the State Department as a known terror group.

But some terrorism experts say it may be even more dangerous than many groups that are on the terror list.

"Hizb ut-Tahrir is one of the oldest, largest indoctrinating organizations for the ideology known as jihadism," Walid Phares, director of the Future of Terrorism Project at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told FOXNews.com.

Phares said that Hizb ut-Tahrir, rather than training members to carry out terrorist acts like Al Qaeda, focuses instead on indoctrinating youths between ages of 9 and 18 to absorb the ideology that calls for the formation of an empire — or "khilafah" — that will rule according to Islamic law and condones any means to achieve it, including militant jihad. Hizb ut-Tahrir often says that it's indoctrination "prepares the infantry that groups like Al Qaeda take into battle.

If you cannot read the sign under ST. TERESA HOSPITAL, in Nairobi, Kenya, it says "and Funeral Home". How convenient! Perhaps, if Tom Daschle and Barack Obama have their way in limiting care to "old" people, that will be a convenient arrangement here in the United States.....

On October 16, 1960 Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev spoke before the United Nations, proclaiming, prior to his return to the Soviet Union, that "the US would be defeated without a shot being fired". He stated that we would be taken over from within our own government. The radical left in America HAS infiltrated our schools, from elementary thru college, all the while inculcating our children with their hate America agenda. They have taught our children that Socialism is good, that the rich are demonic people who haven't really worked hard to achieve and must therefore share their wealth with those who won't work hard. Though Socialism has failed everywhere it has been tried, the number of people in America who think it is a good idea is soon going to be the majority - unless we the people can begin to stand up, shout out, and produce the kind of CHANGE we now need.

Sixty nine million people voted for America to be a communist nation in the 2008 election.

The American people voted for 'Change' and 'Hope' without demanding to have the change described to them. Let us not forget that Obama did not say he would like to continue the greatness of America. Rather, he claimed that he would CHANGE America, and that is just what he meant.

For those of you who want to know how our President's sweet talk to those nice Russians is going for us all, you need to watch the video below. For those who cannot access it, it shows Obama with his Russian hosts going thru a reception line. Obama five times extends his hand to shake hands. At each effort, the Russian reaches behind Obama to clasp the hand of the Russian man behind him. Isn't it so surprising that our media have failed to show this episode so that we can better understand who the Russians really are? I'm shocked... It was an affront to a President of the United States and her citizens, and it speaks volumns about the amount of cooperation we can expect from them........ Russian friends, indeed.

BRAVO, PRESIDENT OBAMA!

From Sheryl Gaye Stolberg of the NYT: President Obama delivered a fiery sermon to black America on Thursday night, warning black parents that they must accept their own responsibilities by “putting away the Xbox and putting our kids to bed at a reasonable hour,” and telling black children that growing up poor is no reason to get bad grades. “No one has written your destiny for you,” he said, directing his remarks to “all the other Barack Obamas out there” who might one day grow up to be president. “Your destiny is in your hands, and don’t you forget that. That’s what we have to teach all of our children! No excuses! No excuses!”

Mr. Obama spoke for 45 minutes to an audience of several thousand people, most of them black, , clad in tuxedos and ball gowns, who had gathered in a ballroom of the Hilton New York to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

[This is the message many have been longing for, for minority students to apply themselves and to gain the good education which has been available to them, if only achieving a good education were the priority of their parents and themselves. This will prepare them to be successful in life..... Everyone would welcome that!]

Hot off the Investors' Business Daily editorial:

When we first saw the paragraph Tuesday, just after the 1,018-page document was released, we thought we surely must be misreading it. So we sought help from the House Ways and Means Committee.

It turns out we were right: The provision would indeed outlaw individual private coverage. Under the Orwellian header of "Protecting The Choice To Keep Current Coverage," the "Limitation On New Enrollment" section of the bill clearly states:

"Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day" of the year the legislation becomes law.

So we can all keep our coverage, just as promised — with, of course, exceptions: Those who currently have private individual coverage won't be able to change it. Nor will those who leave a company to work for themselves be free to buy individual plans from private carriers.

From John Commins, for HealthLeaders Media, July 13, 2009

The infection control partnership between Johns Hopkins University and the Michigan Health & Hospital Association is getting praise from federal officials, who are calling the program a "success story" and a national model for healthcare reform.

The Michigan Keystone ICU Project has reduced healthcare-associated infections in Michigan, saving more than 1,500 lives and $200 million in 18 months. HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius says Michigan Keystone ICU Project will serve as the first in a series of periodic "success story" reports that federal officials will issue to identify healthcare reform models from across the nation that are worth emulating.

[Now THIS is what our government should be doing about health care in America - highlighting, encouraging and congratulating PRIVATE sector solutions! The less the GOVERNMENT actually DOES, the better! As I touted on my sign for the Tea Party in my area: "Monstrous government takeover is not good for America!"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Excerpts of article by Philip Klein of the American Spectator:

Even as California struggles with a catastrophic fiscal crisis and other states scramble to avoid the same fate, Democrats in Washington are proposing health care measures that would add hundreds of billions of dollars of spending to state budgets via an expansion of Medicaid. The program, which covers about 40 million people now, would gain 15 million to 20 million new beneficiaries if Democrats get their way.

The Congressional Budget Office pegged the cost of such an expansion at $500 billion over 10 years, but the total cost is likely higher because the estimate only counts the projected burden on the federal government. Under the current arrangement, Washington picks up about 57 percent of the cost of Medicaid and states pay for 43 percent. While the latest draft of the bill by the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee has the federal government subsidizing the Medicaid expansion for the first five years, after that, the burden will gradually shift back to the states.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BOSTON — A hospital that serves thousands of indigent Massachusetts residents sued the state on Wednesday, charging that its costly universal health care law is forcing the hospital to cover too much of the expense of caring for the poor.

The hospital, Boston Medical Center, faces a $38 million deficit for the fiscal year ending in September, its first loss in five years. The suit says the hospital will lose more than $100 million next year because the state has lowered Medicaid reimbursement rates and stopped paying Boston Medical “reasonable costs” for treating other poor patients. The suit comes as Congress looks to Massachusetts as a potential model for overhauling the nation’s health care system. Even before the suit, the state’s fiscal crisis had cast doubts on the law’s sustainability.

To help close a growing deficit, the Democratic-controlled Legislature eliminated coverage for some 30,000 legal immigrants in the new state budget. Gov. Deval Patrick, a Democrat, is seeking to restore about half of the $130 million cut, but lawmakers have expressed reluctance, saying that doing so would require cuts to other important programs. “The magnitude of the loss here can’t be solved on the program-cutting or expense-cutting side,” Mr. Traylor said. Professor Parmet said the hospital’s dissatisfaction with the new law should be a warning to Congress that “insurance alone doesn’t solve the problems” of the health care system. In fact, she said, it might exacerbate the financial problems of safety-net hospitals in the short term.

Are you beginning to believe Nancy Pelosi when she condemns the CIA for lying to her about their activities? Guy Bensun's Media Blog of National Review Online points out: 1. Democrats are "furious" that the Bush administration didn't tell them about a never-instituted CIA plan to eliminate top terrorists, and want to use the CIA director's formal cancelation of the program last week as an opportunity to back up the speaker's reckless and slanderous claim that the CIA lies "all the time." 2. But the "secret" program in question was described by The Paper of Record (The New York Times) seven years ago, and contemporary reports on the matter include quotes from intelligence sources who say that Congress had "long been briefed" on the original presidential finding that spurred the abandoned CIA strategy. The full story can be found at http://media.nationalreview.com/post/?q=MGY3ZTUzODRiYWIyNDQ2Zjk3NjE2Nzg0NDQ3MTNmOTM=

In addition to that, former CIA director Michael Hayden told AP that he knows congressional leaders were briefed on the top-secret activities because he did the briefings himself, once every three months.

Just a reminder of one of the provisions in the current Cap and Trade bill: it will mandate new energy efficient windows, appliances and doors prior to selling our homes or borrowing against it's equity. And folks like those who confront and intimidate Americans while working for Acorn (well they HAVE changed their name, all the easier to deceive us) may be the ones who will be entering our homes to evaluate our compliance. That won't cost much, will it? And this wouldn't have anything to do with Obama's promise that his tax increases will only affect the top 5% of Americans, right?

A U.S. Army Reserve major from Florida scheduled to report for deployment to Afghanistan within days has had his military orders revoked after arguing he should not be required to serve under a president who has not proven his eligibility for office.

It is high time, I guess, for Obama to prove that he is an American citizen, a simple enough thing to do. A judge has recently said that he WILL hear the lawsuit to determine if Barack Obama actually IS an American citizen if and when the legal paperwork is rewritten... Obama can do this in various ways: he can provide his college transcripts, which have been reported to prove that his scholarship was based the the fact that he was a foreign student; he can show us his Visa for the times long ago that he traveled the world, so that we can see his country of citizenship; he can refute his aunt and other relatives from Kenya who maintain that he was born there and then flown to Hawaii; he can show us his ORIGINAL birth certificate; or he can explain why he has paid nearly one million dollars to his attorneys to prevent any of this information from being documented. This ruling by the military just might open that door.... I am, however, waiting for the other shoe to drop from Obama's military.

And ending on a high note:

U.S. Rep. Mike Ross, D-Ark., a leader of fiscally conservative Blue-Dog House Democrats, said Wednesday that the House plan to overhaul the U.S. health-care system is losing support and will be stuck in committee without changes.

"Last time I checked, it takes seven Democrats to stop a bill in the Energy and Commerce Committee", one of the three committees considering the bill, Ross said following a House vote. "We had seven against it last Friday; we have 10 today."

WASHINGTON — Supporters of Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor are quietly targeting the Connecticut firefighter who's at the center of Sotomayor's most controversial ruling. On the eve of Sotomayor's Senate confirmation hearing, her advocates have been urging journalists to scrutinize what one called the "troubled and litigious work history" of firefighter Frank Ricci. This is opposition research: a constant shadow on Capitol Hill. [Will this kind of action ever be a thing of the past for Democrats?]

Reply 1 - Posted by: Jombie, 7/11/2009 4:49:59 AM (No. 5677812)

Following the previous posting of information concerning the fire fighter, Jombie rightly posted: The personal history of the plaintiff in this case is absolutely irrelevant to the propriety of Sotomayor's decision. Her backers cannot win on the relevant aspects of her behavior, so now they have to attack the victim. [And he is so right!]

Al Gore has touted the Cap and Trade climate bill, claiming it “will dramatically increase the prospects for success” in combating what he sees as the “crisis” of man-made global warming

“But it is the awareness itself that will drive the change and one of the ways it will drive the change is through global governance and global agreements!"
Meanwhile, his global warming has now become climate change, in order to have power over us no matter what the weather does. And hasn't climate ALWAYS been changing? New
Zealand has recorded the coldest May on record, while Massachusetts talks about it's "year without a summer". Global warming, indeed. THIS is why we need global governance on global warming solutions???

And HERE is what our liberal brain-washing of school children and adults alike can produce: Prince Charles has declared that "Capitalism and consumerism have brought the world to the brink of economic and environmental collapse". He added, in a speech to industrialists and environmentalists at St James's Palace, that he had calculated that we have just 96 months left to save the world. Oh, please, that's been said and tried before, both for warming and cooling of our planet.....as well as for the death of our oceans.

From Molly Hooper of The Hill: Eric Holder let stand one of the four original charges [against the Black Panthers for voter intimidation] though. The leader of the black nationalist group’s Philadelphia chapter, Minister King Samir Shabazz, is charged with brandishing a “deadly weapon,” a nightstick, outside of the polls.

As a result, he was punished with not being able to brandish a weapon within 100 ft. of a polling station in Philadelphia until after the 2012 elections. [Does this mean that it will be ok for the Black Panthers to intimidate us after that date? Is this a joke?] “The American people need to know that the Justice Department takes seriously cases of voter intimidation, regardless of the political party of the defendants,” Smith said. Shabazz and Jackson were captured on widely circulated video of the incident standing 10-15 feet from the polling station. The two men are seen standing shoulder to shoulder, dressed in black military-style uniforms, black berets and combat boots; Shabazz tapped and pointed the nightstick in his hands at individuals. According to an affidavit filed by veteran voting rights activist Bartle Bull, who monitored elections in Mississippi at the height of the civil rights movement, the New Black Panther¹s directed racist comments towards white poll workers such as “you are about to be ruled by the black man, cracker.” [Though this charge has been labeled "bull" by Rep. Brady of PA, it should make us wonder how he could have been at all polling places at all moments to be able to claim it as bull.]

From the San Francisco Examiner: Muscle for Money includes multiple techniques for creating highly aggressive, organized efforts both to pressure businesses and officials to support the activists’ agenda or to discredit and intimidate opponents of their agenda, according to present and former ACORN members. Service Employees International Union has funded Muscle for Money activities in the past and continues to finance corporate shakedown efforts across the country as part of this program. SEIU locals 100 and 880 have been identified as allied organizations on ACORN’s web site. That information has since been removed from the ACORN web site, but U.S. Department of Labor LM-2 financial disclosure forms show over $600,000 in transactions between these same locals and ACORN operations in recent years.

Yet the Department of Justice's decision to forfeit its voter-intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party and three individual defendants drew a 6-0 vote with one abstention by the commission. What unified the commission was outrage at the Justice Department for letting the Black Panthers off the hook."

The bottom line, as our President is pledging to dismantle our good ICBMs while Russia eliminates their rusted and perhaps unusable ones, is that it is Russia which is now in the lead in ICBM development, not America. From Gerald Warner of the U.K. Telegraph, who is willing to tell it like it is: "For America voluntarily to reduce its nuclear superiority is madness. Bien-pensant talk of a nuclear-free world displays total stupidity in a global situation where nuclear weaponry is proliferating, not receding. There is even a nuclear bomb in Pakistan, which is teetering on the brink of failed statehood at the hands of Islamist insurgents. Is this a time for America to disarm, to “sell the store” as one trenchant right-wing commentator has already described Obama’s posturing in Moscow?

For Obama, success is not the delivery of watertight nuclear security for America; it is a feel-good news conference and photo opportunity that will create huge approval ratings on liberal campuses where the delusions of 1968 and the anti-Vietnam war movement still linger on in these isolated Jurassic Parks.

Billionair
e T. Boone Pickens, according to the AP, is planning to cash in on the wind energy boom by building the world's largest wind farm in West Texas. The oil tycoon wants to install large wind turbines in parts of four Panhandle counties in a project that would produce up to 4,000 megawatts of electricity.

Oops! That was June of 2007. This month of July 2009, things have changed. Pickens is trying to find buyers for the 687 windmills which he has already purchased for over 2 billion dollars. According to Sabastian Blanco, Pickens' told NPR that people still want renewables and that the wind farm will someday come to fruition. Until then, though, he's still touting natural gas as a replacement for oil and said he would find places to install the 667 wind turbines that he had already ordered for the farm. [He is blaming the inability to get financing as well as the COST of actually getting the energy produced to the people who need it. Now who would have thought THAT would be a problem?]

L'AQUILA, Italy (Reuters) – Russian President Dmitry Medvedev warned the United States Friday that if it did not reach agreement with Russia on plans for missile defense systems, Moscow would deploy rockets in an enclave near Poland.

In sharp contrast to his positive words during President Barack Obama's visit to Moscow earlier this week when the two reached broad agreement on nuclear arms cuts, Medvedev used a news conference at the G8 summit to return to Russia's earlier tough rhetoric on arms control. Referring to an order he gave earlier this year to prepare deployment of short-range Russian missiles in the western enclave of Kaliningrad to answer to any U.S. deployment of a missile shield in central Europe, Medvedev said: "If we don't manage to agree on the issues, you know the consequences. What I said during my state of the nation address has not been revoked." Medvedev also appeared to change his tone on the missile defense shield itself. During Obama's visit he told the U.S. leader, using markedly softer language than normal, that "no one is saying that missile defense is harmful in itself or that it poses a threat to someone." But at the Group of Eight rich nations summit in Italy on Friday, Medvedev returned to a traditional posture on the system, describing it as "harmful" and "threatening to Russia."

Headline: [but not to be found in major newspapers....]

ACORN Rent-A-Mob Thugs to Harass Lenders in 14 Cities Tuesday

ACORN, which played a starring role in creating the subprime mortgage crisis, plans to add insult to injury by harassing lenders across the nation with protests tomorrow in an effort to coerce them into supporting President Obama's Making Home Affordable foreclosure-avoidance program.

Austin King, director of ACORN Financial Justice, sent out a press release today advising of the demonstrations that are planned as part of its "Homewrecker 4" campaign. The four financial companies targeted are Goldman Sachs, HomEq Servicing, American Home Mortgage, and OneWest. Read the whole document here.

ACORN plans to hit Dallas, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, St. Louis, New York City, Wilmington (Del.), Columbus (Ohio), Houston, Little Rock, Boston, Los Angeles.

How does it make you feel knowing that WE are paying these community organizers who were taught by our current President, to do these deeds?

From Britain's The Telegraph: "Over the coming days a curiously revealing event will be taking place in Copenhagen. Top of the agenda at a meeting of the Polar Bear Specialist Group (set up under the International Union for the Conservation of Nature/Species Survival Commission) will be the need to produce a suitably scary report on how polar bears are being threatened with extinction by man-made global warming. Dr. Taylor, one of the world's most respected expert on polar bears has been banned from attending a "Global Warming" conference because: his view that global warming is not manmade is UNHELPFUL... Dr. Taylor would like to show his evidence that in spite of any un-manmade global warming, the number of polar bears is higher now than it was 50 years ago..... Oh, that's right! Now the global warming crowd has been renamed the global climate change crowd, and they are now saying the the INCREASE in polar bears is due to the warming of the earth, when once they said the warming was causing the demise of the polar bear. Can we keep all of this straight?

And from Arizona:– Arizona is in the process of criminalizing the presence of illegal immigrants through an expanded trespassing law. Their Senate passed the bill, which must now pass the House and be signed by the governor.

I think it's time for a review of what candidate Barack Obama said about his "Cap and Trade" bill. He said, “Under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket . . . because I’m capping greenhouse gases, coal power plants, natural gas, you name it . . . Whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money, and they will pass that [cost] on to consumers.’’ Obama also suggested that his energy policy would [happily] ruin the coal industry, for “if somebody wants to build a coal-fired plant, they can - it’s just that it will bankrupt them, because they are going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.’’ Better turn you thermostats WAY down!

From Mike Allen of The Washington Post: For $25,000 to $250,000, The Washington Post has offered lobbyists and association executives off-the-record, nonconfrontational access to "those powerful few": Obama administration officials, members of Congress, and — at first — even the paper’s own reporters and editors. "Underwriting Opportunity: An evening with the right people can alter the debate," says the one-page flier. "Underwrite and participate in this intimate and exclusive Washington Post Salon, an off-the-record dinner and discussion at the home of CEO and Publisher Katharine Weymouth. ... Bring your organization’s CEO or executive director literally to the table. Interact with key Obama administration and congressional leaders." So much for a free press..... Guess one needs to PAY the paper to get some influence. Since this news hit the air, the paper has issued an apology for it's [discovered] and misguided intentions.

BREAKING NEWS: the judgement of Judge Sonia Sotomayor regarding the white firefighters in NY has been overturned by the Supreme Court. Count this as only the latest of her decisions which has been proven to be invalid. And President Obama is trying to put her on the Supreme Court - for life....

IS THERE TO BE NO END TO FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S INSERTION INTO OUR LIVES? JUST HOW MANY "ADVISERS" AND "CZARS" WILL BE PAID BY WE THE PEOPLE BEFORE THIS PRESIDENT IS DONE? Vice President Biden announced recently that Lynn Rosenthal will be the White House adviser on Violence Against Women, a new position created to work with the president and vice president on domestic violence and sexual assault issues. We can all support the notion that these issues should be addressed, but enough with the intrusion of the Feds!

There was once said in this world a phrase attributed to Benjamin Disraeli and popularised in the United States by Mark Twain: ...that there are "lies, damn lies, and statistics". This notion is bourne out by the methods which liberal pollsters use to get their statistics, and this has been true for a long time. Let's say, which is true, that in the last election the popular vote tally was 53 percent for Obama and 46 percent for McCain - a 7 point difference. Now let's assume that we wish to have an outcome which greatly favors our liberal side. I've got an idea! Let's just poll 52% liberals and 28% conservatives- nearly two to one! That's the ticket! Apparently The New York Times skewed their polling by offering the questions to mostly Obama voters. Is it shocking, then, that their poll shows that the majority supports higher taxes for federal health care? The NYT is calling this a scientific poll. I'm not buying it, are you?

HOUSE PASSES 'GLOBAL WARMING' LEGISLATION... 'BILL OF THE CENTURY' VOTED ON UNREAD... ENOUGH SAID.... Well, almost. Part of this bill which has come to light includes the mandate that when any of us who wish to sell our home, we would first have to pass a government inspection which demands that we have energy efficient windows, appliances and the like! From Daquella Manera of Fight for Forefathers comes these excerpts: "This bill funds and allows government hired personnel (youth brigades who are recruited from low income areas) to enter your house in the name of home inspections. These regulations go from the amount of carcinogens in your building materials to the wiring. You will be given a notice on what needs to be replaced with a time limit of repair. Yes this is, as bad as it sounds] my fellow freedom fighters! The goal of this legislation is not to help save the planet, it is designed to achieve complete control over people’s lives under the disguise of a fictitious “carbon foot print” by taxing them in every aspect of their lives. Alex Jones stated, “This is a world dictatorship, paying your taxes to the robber barren banker class, directly to them." No chance for the Iron Fist of a Tyrant government - right? And now news comes of a 98 page document from the EPA which was concealed from America. It began: “We have become increasingly concerned that EPA and many other agencies and countries have paid too little attention to the science of global warming. EPA and others have tended to accept the findings reached by outside groups…as being correct without a careful and critical examination of their conclusions and documentation.” It was stated that this document does not further their agenda, and that the document was to be withheld from publication. And yet today, Henry Waxman is still spouting that the science is uncontested and that the Republicans are standing in the way of the bill being passed in the Senate. Call your Senators!!

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed Saturday to make the U.S. and it's President's regret its criticism of Iran's postelection crackdown and said the "mask has been removed" from the Obama administration's efforts to improve relations. "You should know that if you continue, the response of the Iranian nation will be strong," Ahmadinejad said. "The response of the Iranian nation will be crushing. The response will cause remorse." How's that friendship thing working, Obama?

Headline: White House Is Drafting Executive Order to Allow
Indefinite Detention of Terror Suspects.
Wait a minute! Isn't this what Obama blasted Bush for doing, and the Supreme Court disallowed? This must really irritate his cronies on the left.....
