Obamacare and Obama's Government Shutdown

[I shall start this day with a question: At any time that a government shuts down due to Congressional disputes, would not the logical reaction be finding the things that are the LEAST painful, and cut those?  What other President, through the  18 other government shutdowns, went this route of punishing the people for the arguments in Congress?  What President before has ever been so obviously vindictive and dis respectful of "the folks" as Obama likes to call us?  I await word of another President's behavior matching this one's.  Won't this be noticed even by the Obama sycophants?]

[We all knew this was coming.  So then why should we worry over those furloughed workers more than the inconvenienced citizens of America, or the children with cancer, as Harry Reid asked?  I think I want a government furlough, don't you?] Over the weekend, the House held a vote and agreed—without a single exception—that when this government shutdown is all over, all these "non-essential" government bureaucrats who have been loafing around at home all this time will all be given back pay for work they did not perform.

The question is will you agree to ObamaCare, just as in Berlin the question was whether you would get a Soviet ration card, fill your wallet with Ostmarks and submit to a Soviet takeover. The Communists assumed that cutting off food would force the residents of Berlin to use Soviet ration cards and currency.

They were wrong.

The residents were able to see that short term food from the USSR would mean decades of little food under Communist rule. Similarly any temporary benefits from ObamaCare will mean national shortages of health care in the future.

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Wednesday criticized the first week of ObamaCare as a system that threatens to fine people for failing to buy health insurance on websites that don't work.



“How can we tax people for not buying a product from a website that doesn't work?” he asked on the House floor. [This is the kind of stuff that makes me crazy.  Actually, Mr. Boehner, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, she who has the ultimate power to enact regulations as she alone sees fit, with no Congressional oversight, said on TV that if someone wants a one year reprieve from the Obamacare mandate such as has been given to big business, all they have to do is not sign up.  They they would simply pay the FINE instead.  First of all, business does not pay a fine.  Second of all, in order for this to be deemed Constitutional by the Supreme Court the "fine" was rewritten to be a "tax".  Our MS. Sebelius seems not to understand her own law and the way in which it was passed, as she sees it as a fine for bad behavior, not going along with Obama's plan. The Obama administration insisted Tuesday it had no choice but to withhold death benefits to relatives of 1st Lt. Jennifer Moreno, a 25-year-old soldier born and raised in San Diego, and four other soldiers killed since the partial government shutdown began Oct. 1.

OUTRAGE: Allegedly Closed National Park Service Sends Agents to Remove Water Spigots

The latest malicious act against the American public comes via the National Park Service. We now learn the NPS is actually sending federal agents out on trails and into parks to physically remove water spigots.

It what looks like a spiteful move, the NPS even removed handles from water spigots along the Chesapeake and Ohio canal where bikers and joggers exercise as well as along the Great Allegheny Passage, just to ensure people don’t get any water from them.

Nearly two dozen people have been issued citations for entering Grand Canyon National Park after a partial government shutdown forced its closure.

Grand Canyon Chief Ranger Bill Wright says some people have been caught at the South Rim, on trails, attempting rim-to-rim hikes or trying to sneak in through dirt roads.

The Million Vet March on the Memorials will be held Sunday, Oct. 13, at 9 a.m. Eastern at the World War II memorial on the National Mall, the location where rangers under orders from the White House tried, unsuccessfully, to prevent vets from visiting in recent days.

Many people signing up for health care in Florida through the Affordable Care Act have been shocked when they have to give proof of their credit score before they finish the process.

Anne Packham, one of many people licensed by the state to help people navigate the government's website, said on Tuesday that the credit check occurs so providers can make an educated decision about who to insure.

"If someone is defaulting on all of their bills they may not want to have them as part of their health plan," said Packham, the lead Navigator in Florida.

Millions Of Workers May Choose To Go Part-Time Once Obamacare Kicks In

the ACA will enable part-timers to have access to medical benefits that rival those of full-timers, giving them greater freedom to choose part-time work.

The perk that is usually offered only to full-time employees — affordable health care — will now be offered to part-time employees. As a result, millions of workers who are working full-time may choose to work part-time instead, University of Chicago economics professor Casey Mulligan said in a recent paper published with the  National Bureau of Economic Research.
