[We
all knew this was coming. So then why should we worry over those
furloughed workers more than the inconvenienced citizens of America, or
the children with cancer, as Harry Reid asked? I think I want a
government furlough, don't you?] Over the weekend, the House held a vote and agreed—without a single
exception—that when this government shutdown is all over, all these
"non-essential" government bureaucrats who have been loafing around at
home all this time will all be given back pay for work they did not
perform.
So instead of getting a little taste of the furloughs, layoffs, and
firings private American workers have been suffering for years in this
nasty economy, these federal bureaucrats would be granted extended paid
vacations. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/10/09/the-nuclear-option-non-essential
The question is will you agree to ObamaCare,
just as in Berlin the
question was whether you would get a Soviet ration card, fill your
wallet with Ostmarks and submit to a Soviet takeover. The Communists
assumed that cutting off food would force the residents of Berlin to use
Soviet ration cards and currency.
They were wrong.
The residents were able to see that short term food from the USSR
would mean decades of little food under Communist rule. Similarly any
temporary benefits from ObamaCare will mean national shortages of health
care in the future.
The National Park Service’s abusive antics, which include kicking
senior citizens out of their cabins and detaining others at a hotel
under armed guard, are about power. http://frontpagemag.com/2013/dgreenfield/the-obama-blockade/----------------------

President Obama Heads into Midterms at Lowest Approval Rating of Presidency :

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) on
Wednesday criticized the first week
of ObamaCare as a system that threatens to fine people for failing to
buy health insurance on websites that don't work.
“How can we tax people for not buying a product from a website that doesn't work?” he asked on the House floor. [This
is the kind of stuff that makes me crazy. Actually, Mr. Boehner, the
Secretary of Health and Human Services, she who has the ultimate power
to enact regulations as she alone sees fit, with no Congressional
oversight, said on TV that if someone wants a one year reprieve from the
Obamacare mandate such as has been given to big business, all they have
to do is not sign up. They they would simply pay the FINE instead.
First of all, business does not pay a fine. Second of all, in order for
this to be deemed Constitutional by the Supreme Court the "fine" was
rewritten to be a "tax". Our MS. Sebelius seems not to understand her
own law and the way in which it was passed, as she sees it as a fine for
bad behavior, not going along
with Obama's
plan. Well, that's about right.
Why can't our supposed LEADER point this out?] Read more: http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/house/327489-boehner-obamacare-threatens-fines-but-fails-to-deliver-care#ixzz2hFpGJMI1

Speaking
this afternoon to the White House press corps, Obama went off script to
scorn House Republicans negotiating to end the shutdown. Obama compared
Republicans to negligent home borrowers, saying of people who don’t pay
their home mortgages, “they’re just deadbeats.” Read more at NetRightDaily.com: http://netrightdaily.com/2013/10/obama-lashes-deadbeats/#ixzz2hEP8nLmV----------------------
Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives, John Boehner,
epitomized what has been wrong with the Republicans for decades when he
emerged from a White House meeting last Wednesday, went over to the
assembled microphones, briefly expressed his disgust with the Democrats'
intransigence and walked on away.
We are in the midst of a national crisis, immediately affecting
millions of Americans and potentially affecting the kind of country this
will become if ObamaCare goes into effect — and yet, with multiple
television network cameras focused on Speaker Boehner as he emerged from
the White House, he couldn't be bothered to prepare a statement that
would help clarify a confused situation, full of fallacies and lies. http://www.creators.com/conservative/thomas-sowell/inarticulate-republicans.html

This week Senate Majority leader Harry Reid defended his refusal to negotiate with Republicans over Obamacare and the debt in these words: “We are here to support the federal government. That’s our job.” End quote. Forget about representing the people whom our Founders made sovereign. Forget what America is about. http://frontpagemag.com/2013/david-horowitz/the-threat-we-face-2/

“I can assure you it’s not posturing. It’s not a political play or anything like that,” Rep. Phil Gingrey, R-Ga., told CQ Roll Call on Tuesday.
The Obama administration insisted Tuesday it had no choice but to withhold death benefits to relatives of 1st Lt. Jennifer Moreno, a 25-year-old soldier born and raised in San Diego, and four other soldiers killed since the partial government shutdown began Oct. 1.

“I can assure you it’s not posturing. It’s not a political play or anything like that,” Rep. Phil Gingrey, R-Ga., told CQ Roll Call on Tuesday.
Gingrey said Republicans were “absolutely” prepared to lose the House
to extract concessions on the CR and the debt limit, and he said the
White House is “missing the determination of the Republican Party.”
“I mean, they seem to think that we will miss this opportunity for a
‘Braveheart’ moment to do the right thing for the American people and
that we’ll back down for fear of losing the House and not gaining
control of the Senate,” Gingrey said.
President Barack Obama held a news conference Tuesday during which he
reiterated his position that Democrats would not negotiate with
Republicans “for the mere act of reopening the government or paying our
bills.” http://blogs.rollcall.com/218/republicans-obama-debt-default/

This
is ridiculous and perverse. In denying death benefits to the relatives of
fallen U.S. soldiers, however, the Obama administration has broken new
ground in its budget theater. This decision is accurately described as
depraved. http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2013/oct/09/denial-of-death-benefits-shame-on-president-obama/

OUTRAGE: Allegedly Closed National Park Service Sends Agents to Remove Water Spigots
The
latest malicious act against the American public comes via the National
Park Service. We now learn the NPS is actually sending federal agents
out on trails and into parks to physically remove water spigots.
Nearly two dozen people have been issued citations for entering Grand Canyon National Park after a partial government shutdown forced its closure.
-------------------------------It what looks like a spiteful move, the NPS even removed handles from water spigots along the Chesapeake and Ohio canal where bikers and joggers exercise as well as along the Great Allegheny Passage, just to ensure people don’t get any water from them.Instead of saving money, the NPS is expending additional resources to go out of its way to close such locations and to make people miserable. - See more at: http://www.libertynews.com/2013/10/outrage-allegedly-closed-national-park-service-sends-agents-to-remove-water-spigots/#sthash.wDZoOvJB.dpuf
Nearly two dozen people have been issued citations for entering Grand Canyon National Park after a partial government shutdown forced its closure.
Grand Canyon Chief Ranger Bill Wright says some people have been caught at the South Rim, on trails, attempting rim-to-rim hikes or trying to sneak in through dirt roads.
All of the citations will be handled by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Wright says each of the 21 citations issued as of Monday has a mandatory
order to appear in federal court. http://lasvegas.cbslocal.com/2013/10/08/grand-canyon-cites-people-for-entering-closed-park/

It was announced today that an annual sandcastle contest on San Francisco’s Ocean Beach has been cancelled out of sheer malice
by the Obama administration, despite the fact that the beach on which
it is held — part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area — normally
has no lifeguards, no rangers, is permanently open to the public, and
requires no funds for day-to-day operations: http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2013/10/09/sandcastles-verboten-obama-boots-kids-sandcastle-contest-off-beach/

The Million Vet March on the Memorials
will be held Sunday, Oct. 13, at 9 a.m. Eastern at the World War II
memorial on the National Mall, the location where rangers under orders
from the White House tried, unsuccessfully, to prevent vets from
visiting in recent days.
The announcement said the group Special Operations Speaks is
organizing the rally because the Obama administration “is using the
government shutdown as an excuse to keep our veterans from acknowledging
the debt owed to them and their predecessors.” Read more at http://www.wnd.com/2013/10/super-rally-against-president-in-works/#B0bvrCwjhmByGbha.99

Many people signing up for health care in Florida through the Affordable Care Act have been shocked
when they have to give proof of their credit score before they finish the process.
Anne Packham,
one of many people licensed by the state to help people navigate the
government's website, said on Tuesday that the credit check occurs so
providers can make an educated decision about who to insure.
"If
someone is defaulting on all of their bills they may not want to have
them as part of their health plan," said Packham, the lead Navigator in
Florida.
Participants with low credit scores could end up paying
higher premiums, according to Packham, who said that ultimately the
insurance company makes the call. http://www.redflagnews.com/headlines/credit-scores-impacting-obamacare-insurance-plans

Millions Of Workers May
Choose To Go Part-Time Once Obamacare Kicks In
the ACA will enable part-timers to have access to medical benefits
that rival those of full-timers, giving them greater freedom to choose
part-time work.
The perk that is usually offered only to full-time employees —
affordable health care — will now be offered to part-time employees. As a
result, millions of workers who are working full-time may choose to
work part-time instead, University of Chicago economics professor Casey
Mulligan said in a recent paper published with the National Bureau of
Economic Research.
Workers who choose to reduce their own hours may end up faring
better financially by paying lower premiums offered to part-time
rs through government exchanges ra ther than working a few more hours
and purchasing health care through an employer, s aid Mulligan. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/millions-workers-may-choose-part-131500251.html
[This long article is well worth the read, as it discusses the Threat We Face as Progressives in our government - Obama, Valerie Jarrett, David Axelrod, and Huma Abadein - have connections to Communists and are intent on bringing down our government. There are four defining features of the left, which distinguish it as a movement of individuals who approach politics quite differently from pragmatically-minded conservatives. The first of these features is their alienation from country: The answer to all these questions is that Obama doesn’t identify with our country. He sees himself as a “citizen of the world,” and a redresser of grievances for the suffering he imagines America has inflicted on our adversaries, including Hitlerite Iran.
To sum this up: Progressives see themselves as an army of the saints, and their opponents as the party of Satan; and that will justify almost anything you can get away with. http://frontpagemag.com/2013/david-horowitz/the-threat-we-face-2/
