Obama's First 100 Days

Though I don't know who is the author of this political cartoon, it does a good job of summing up this administration's agenda.

Picture the following words over a picture of President Obama: So we'll put money in the economy by taking money out of the economy then putting it back in the economy and taxing it as it passes through. Yeah, that ought to work.

BREAKING NEWS: On a 51-45 vote, the Senate, with the votes of 15 Democrats, just defeated the proposed bill that would have allowed bankruptcy judges to rewrite mortgage contracts to reduce the amount people owe on their mortgages.
Led by Arizona's Jon Kyl and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, President Obama's high priority bill became his first legislative defeat. By relieving troubled homeowners today, banks would have been forced to charge higher rates on the next generation of mortgagees. Speaking for millions of renters and nondelinquent borrowers, Mr. McConnell said that the vote "ensures that homeowners who pay their bills and follow the rules won't see an interest-rate hike at the whim of a bankruptcy judge". Nor, I add, will the binding contracts we sign be allowed to be altered at the command of the government.

ABC ran a report showing the names and faces of two present CIA contractors who may have had a role in the waterboarding of KSM and Abu Zubaydah. This puts them at extreme risk from our enemies, and is against the law. When it isn't a Republican who can be falsely accused as in the Valerie Plame case, I doubt that any recriminations will be coming.

Barack Obama, while celebrating his first 100 days as our "hero", said "those of you who are watching certain news channels on which I'm not very popular, and you see folks waving tea bags around, let me just remind them that I am happy to have a serious conversation about how we are going to cut our health care costs down over the long term, how we are going to stabilize Social Security.” I guess he doesn't know that Fox News Network has more viewers than all the other cable channels put together, and that Fox only began to cover the tea parties after we the people began to organize them. By the way, the Petoskey, Michigan tea party will be held today at 6:00 pm, and Joe The Plumber will be in attendance. Our President denigrated those citizens who attend tea parties and totally misrepresented their focus: his and Congress's dismantling of capitalism, their extreme spending and debt production, and their disrespect for the very Constitution which they have pledged to uphold. While willing to discuss with us the various ways in which we can save money on health care (just as Castro and Chavez promised to listen to anything and everything Americans wish to discuss, but to change nothing), he is not willing to do anything except listen. This is demonstrated by his Congress which is about to pass a simple majority as the voting method to give to us national healthcare, without debate. He must have forgotten that when questioned on his agenda, he told a Republican Senator, "I won". And I would remind our President that though he won, there were nearly 60 million Americans who did NOT vote for him, and he is the President of us all. His speech demonstrates what he truly thinks of those of us who might question his wisdom. He said, "opposing our approach on every front is probably not a good political strategy." And I thought that is why our Constitution provides for at least TWO political parties! He and his party certainly exercised their rights to oppose the President's agenda during the last administration.

Marxists
believe in the following: "from each according to their ability, to each according to their needs". Is this not reminiscent of Obama's response to Joe the Plumber? As a reminder, he said to Joe: "It's not that I want to punish your success, I want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance for success, too." Obama then explained his trickle-up theory of economics. "My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody. I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody." Marxists believe that goods should be produced for usefulnesss and not for profitability. Wow! That sounds so much like a recent Obama quote about how we Americans need to stop working because of the importance of the money it provides and more for the goodness it can provide to others. No, Mr. President, some of us work very hard to provide for ourselves and our families. American conservatives then become the world's largest donators to charities world-wide. Statistics show, however, that liberals tend to donate almost nothing to charities, for they want to use OUR money to do that.

On another subject, some of the arguments against the Obama administration's release of classified documents regarding "enhanced interrogation", as well as plans to prosecute those who approved the aforementioned techniques (which would include a large number of Congressmen) have been voiced by his own CIA director Leon Panetta and four previous CIA directors. Declassifying the memos will make it more difficult for the CIA to defend the nation. It communicated to our enemies the limits of our techniques, enabling them to practice their resistance (just as our SEAL members all do as part of their training). It is believed that it will discourage intelligence professionals from offering their frank opinions in sensitive counterterrorist cases for fear that they will be prosecuted by a future administration. That will make it ever more difficult to recruit good people to our government whose job it is to protect our country.

"The quote of the day from GM, on their new Obama contract : "The U.S. Treasury will be able to elect all of our directors and to control the vote on substantially all matters brought for a stockholder vote." The government who couldn't even successfully run it's own cafeteria knows SO much about running ANY business, don't you know! The government is also refusing to accept repayment of loans it made to various banks -- for it wishes not to lose control over those banks.

"That is the true genius of America , a faith in the simple dreams of its people, the insistence on small miracles. That we can say what we think, write what we think, without hearing a sudden knock on the door." That is a direct Obama quote. I have not yet heard a knock on my door, but I and all conservatives have been targeted for surveillance, as we might become terrorists, according to our government. Why has our President not condemned this National Security edict as he refuted the naming of veterans as possible terrorists?

New Latin America Leaders Not Leftist??

To the Petoskey News Review:
Your Editor Kendall Stanley asked for opinions on which columnist he should choose for dismissal. I am writing to offer my opinion regarding Georgie Anne Geyer, as I find it almost laughable that he considers her to be a moderate. In her last article for instance, she describes new leaders in Latin America as "not leftist in traditional Marxist terms, but rather broadly and emotionally leftish, essentially nonideological". I can only assume that since the very definition of Marxism is from each according to his ability, to each according to his need, Geyer recognizes that they do not fulfill that definition due to their “nonideological” total authoritarianism, the jailing of their political critics, the running of their countries with an iron fist, and their disrespect of basic human rights. Our US State Department has declared there are “numerous rights violations under Chavez”, that he represses opposition to his administration. "I sting those who rattle me," Chavez has said in one weekly TV address, "so don't mess with me, Condoleezza!" The recent warning given by our own Department of Homeland
Security's leader Janet Napolitano, by the way, makes me understand that now in the United States political critics of our government are being isolated and threatened by being named as possible terrorists which all local police departments have been warned to watch. Do we not recall Hillary Clinton’s screech, “I'm sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and disagree with this administration, somehow you're not patriotic. We need to stand up and say we're Americans, and we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration". I guess we conservatives are not being called unpatriotic, just ripe for being terrorists. Does that make you feel better?
Ideology by definition is supposed to mean "the body of ideas reflecting the social needs and aspirations of an individual group, class or culture." I guess Latin leaders ARE non-ideologues, as they don't CARE about the needs and aspirations of anyone but themselves. Take Chavez, for instance. I do not find Chavez to be "mystical", nor Messiah-like, as Geyer does. His getting chummy attention, with not a condition required, from what used to be the greatest power on Earth is definitely not helpful to America. Chavez has recently suggested that Venezuela and Iran must build a New World Order, along with a new bank which shall replace the IMF and World Bank. How do you think Obama's new “good neighbor policy” is working so far?
While admitting that Cuba is impoverished, she does not connect the dots to the agenda and policies of Castro in making it so. If Castro is such an "historic inspiration" to Geyer, perhaps she should note that even though Raul Castro said last week that he was open to talk about "everything, everything with the Americans", he also has no intention of changing a thing. Nor does she mention that the health care of those in Cuba is rationed by Castro's government, just as it will have to be in the USA if we indeed institute government paid health care and health insurance, as was admitted by none other than Tom Daschle, President Obama’s first, but flawed by being a tax cheat, choice to be head of this effort.. President Obama's "Good Neighbor Policy" includes new $200 million in loans to Cuba. These come rife with the probabilities of the loan money never reaching those who actually are impoverished, which is often the case with American money sent abroad. Geyer admits that "these leaders actually accomplish little palpable for their people", which she says is not the point! What, pray tell, should the point be, then?
Ms. Geyer saw in Chavez a "Messianic Glow". I assume Geyer must also see in our new President a “Messianic Glow”, for he has already declared that he and his followers are “the change we have been waiting for”, predicting that “this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal." In my view, President Ronald Reagan is our “historic inspiration”. Ms. Geyer is no moderate, but she does continue to give me plenty of material for presenting a conservative’s viewpoint.

Global Warming InThe News

  • I know this is not fun reading, but it is SO important to our future!

  • The 2nd annual “International Conference on Climate Change” was recently held in New York, bringing together hundreds of climate skeptics from around the world. European Union President Vaclav Klaus is quoted as saying that the climate debate is not just about temperature.
"Environmentalists want to change us and our behavior” because “their mission is control.” [This is change you shouldn't have to believe in..., I say. I've always wanted Al Gore to explain what it was that caused the last global warming, or Ice Age, for that matter. But Gore refuses to actually have a scientific debate...] And today Al Gore has said in Congress that Cap and Trade, and the Waxman Bill currently being discussed, is the most important bill ever presented to Congress, likening it to the Marshall Plan and to the fight for Civil Rights! Well, it WILL make Al Gore and his cap and trade company much more rich.... Every American family will pay this tax in the form of higher gasoline, heating, and electric bills. MIT has recently stated that the price tag WILL be $4000 per household per year.
Recently the EPA has been given broad powers to prevent Global Warming, whether it can be proved to be manmade or reversible or not. It wants to tax greenhouse gases - from livestock and cars..... and that would be without any new laws being passed by our Congress.. They are also proposing to tax our use of energy used to heat and cool our homes. In their best case scenario they wish for a power "smart grid" that allows the government to dial down our thermostats!

Included in the current Waxman bill are provisions that will allow anyone who feels they are being adversely affected by anyone else's pollution including the government's, (making them a "victim"), the right to SUE that entity; the liberal National Academies of Science will unilaterally make recommendations to the gov't.; the gov't must seek the opinion of liberal environmental groups when creating or revising their regulations; our government will institute yet another gov't program, this time to train the work force to do the work of curing our planet of Global Warming - thru college grants.

  • AND THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS STORY includes items such as these:

  • A glitch in satellite sensors caused scientists to underestimate the extent of Arctic sea ice by 500,000 square kilometers (193,000 square miles), a California- size area, the U.S. National Snow and Ice Data Center said.

More than 650 prominent international scientists now oppose the findings of the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC)., which are the basis of the Waxman proposal. The 52 authors of the IPCC report who are climate scientists are out-numbered 12-to-1 by their scientific critics. The UN’s Intergovermental Panel on Climate Change claims to be the world’s “most authoritative body” on the subject. However, only “something on the order of 20%” of the panel’s scientists “have some dealing with climate,” admits a senior member. Even the IPCC chairman is an economist, not a scientist.

It has been shown that the West Antarctic ice sheet has collapsed and regrown at least 60 times in the past few million years. David Harwood, a palaeoecologist at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a founding member of the Andrill project says, "We can see the sea level come and go and we can see the ice sheets advance and retreat." Harwood, Fielding and 50 other scientists have detailed their findings from this critical period in a paper in Nature last month (vol 458, p 322). "The cores show at least 60 cycles of glacial collapse, retreat, and re-advance during the last 14 million years. To see the physical evidence for what we had suspected from other information was pretty exciting."

As we go back into history, into past millennia, we can see that our atmosphere has in fact had much more CO2 - up to 6,000 parts per million, compared to the 380 parts per million that we have now - and it has responded and it has settled. Earth didn't destroy itself.

Watts has found that temperature data from nearly 70 percent of the weather stations is of questionable accuracy because the stations do not adhere to the USHCN's own quality-control guidelines. Some are placed on airport runways and beside exhaust vents on buildings, for instance! Data from last September was repeated for October, skewing the readings to be much warmer than they were. In fact, our planet has been cooling over the last 10 years, forcing the Global Warming crowd to now warn us of "climate change" instead.

And a few items regarding our banning of DDT and our use of ethanol:
From Amy Herzog of Townhall.com: Thanks to Westerners’ fear of all things inorganic—and Rachel Carson’s scare-mongering book “Silent Spring”—one million inhabitants of third-world countries die of malaria every year. Although studies show that DDT has no harmful effects on humans, environmentalists have pressured Western governments to ban imports from countries that use the chemical for disease control. Under threat of trade sanctions from the West, African nations have been forced to use less effective and more expensive methods to fight the malaria epidemic, such as mosquito-repellent bed nets—even though many Africans don’t own beds.

Last spring, several Third World nations erupted in riots because the people didn’t have enough to eat—the cost of food staples had soared over 80 percent in three years. Among the chief causes? The West’s decision to divert food resources toward the development of Earth-friendly “biofuels.” “When millions of people are going hungry, it's a crime against humanity that food should be diverted to biofuels,” Palaniappan Chidambaram, India's finance minister, said during the food riots.

EMERGENCY! CONSERVATIVES ARE NOW POSSIBLE TERRORISTS!

Department of Homeland Security released a controversial 10-page report warning against "right-wing extremism," despite a disclaimer: "The DHS/Office of Intelligence and Analysis has no specific information that domestic right-wing terrorists are currently planning acts of violence, but right-wing extremists may be gaining new recruits by playing on their fears about several emerging issues". And from Guy Benson of Townhall.com: Although the details vary, the overarching message is consistent. To conservatives: Be quiet. Your political speech is irresponsible and might conceivably encourage violence. To other Americans: Be afraid of these borderline-insane people. Their ranting radio hosts and wild-eyed tea party/hate fests (“not really family viewing” according to one CNN correspondent) are frightening and creepy. Welcome back, fear. Hope, we hardly knew ye. [Where were our government warnings about community organizers and their "in your faces" tactics, for instance - or warnings about possible ill-effects from listening to a Black Liberation Theology minister for 20 years? ]

And I say that while refusing to refer to Muslims who kill infidels terrorists, Janet Napolitano DOES warn all police departments to be on the look-out for good American citizens who disagree with Barack Obama and this Congress as potential terrorists! As Hillary Clinton, our Secretary of State, once famously shrieked: "I'm sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and disagree with this administration, somehow you're not patriotic. We need to stand up and say we're Americans, and we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration". To my knowledge she was never declared by the Bush Administration to be an extremist and possible terrorist for speaking up against her government's policies.....

For further elucidation, read the following paragraph, and realize that if you are reading this, your government has labeled you a possible terrorist!

"Right-wing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration." Right-wing extremist chatter on the Internet continues to focus on the economy, the perceived loss of U.S. jobs in the manufacturing and construction sectors, and home foreclosures," the assessment warns. When asked, DHS spokeswoman Sara Kuban could not name who was responsible for this "extremist chatter".

Obama, speaking after Ortega and Fernandez, said the U.S. is seeking a new beginning in its relationship with Cuba and wants an “equal partnership” with other countries in the Americas. Regional leaders “cannot let ourselves be prisoners of past disagreements,” Obama said. “You can’t blame the U.S. for every problem in this hemisphere,” Obama said. “I am very grateful that President Ortega didn’t blame me for things that happened when I was three months old.

This begs this question for Obama, and do notice he didn't say America, as everything is only about "the One": If you think it wouldn't have been right for YOU to be blamed for things that happened even in the 1980's, does this mean you will STOP blaming Americans for what happened here regarding slavery?? The 13th Amendment, passed in 1865, freed all slaves. WE don't wish to be blamed for "things that happened when" we were 150 years away from even being born.

Barack Obama has recently named 18 administration Czars. Carl Browner is the energy czar and Gil Kerlikowske is the drug czar, for instance. Even Senator Robert Byrd believes that these czar appointments are a slick way for Obama to govern without needing to work with Congress, for czars do not even have to go thru Senate confirmation hearings. This seems to be anti-Constitutional, as powers were granted to only Congress by that Constitution to make laws. Former Rep. Ernest Istook said he doesn't like the term czar either because it's too Russian.

Inexcusable Lapse:By INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY -

War On Terror: Imagine a president of the United States, within his first hundred days, revealing secrets that help terrorists kill. The secret memos on enhanced interrogation, now made public, do exactly that.

Houston Chronicle, by Jennifer A. Dlouhy:
WASHINGTON — The Environmental Protection Agency’s declaration Friday that greenhouse gases
endanger the public paves the way for new federal regulation
of cars, power plants and factories that spew pollutants blamed
for climate change. [This will happen without Obama's promise
to "restore science to it's rightful place", for there will be no
debate on the statistics and facts concerning the ability of man
to reverse what the planet and it's sun is doing once again.
Worse than that, major expenditures will be put in place
without any law bein
g passed by Congress!]

From The People's Cube: "My administration is the only thing between you and the pitchforks," Barack Obama told the CEOs of the world's most powerful financial institutions on March 27, when they cited competition for talent in an international market as justification for paying higher salaries to their employees. To get the full flavor of the president's implication we must remember that in Obama's code language, the word "pitchforks" means "a vigorous campaign of threats and intimidation perpetrated by Obama-sponsored ACORN and union activists in conjunction with theatrical outrage from government officials, amplified by the complicit media, and coordinated from one political center, which has now moved to the White House.

Here is their description of Progressives and their agenda:

The purpose of our Progressive movement is to instill enormous guilt among wealth creators, causing them to give their money to us voluntarily. Think of guilt as secondary taxation. While the government extracts the first round of money by taxing a limited number of activities by wealth creators (with the help of a mind-numbing tax code), the imposition of guilt allows us to extract the remaining money in virtually unlimited amounts by associating guilt with the broadest range of activities - from what you eat to how big your toilet tank is. Most of you are guilty merely for breathing air, and the number of victims suffering from your noxious CO2 exhaust is unlimited - from the whole planet Earth to endangered microscopic communities of bacteria that thrive collectively on dead bodies and whose existence you are jeopardizing by selfishly staying alive.

UK paper headline, the Telegraph, on Obama's snub of Normandy: Barack Obama rejects Normandy trip to avoid offending Germany

An American official familiar with the negotiations said that President Obama never had any intention of making the stop over. "It wasn't going to happen. We went through the motions to placate President Sarkozy but giving special treatment to France was not on our agenda. During this trip, we wanted to maintain a balance between the British, [the] German[s], and France."

[Our President, on this tour of foreign nations, found time to visit Turkey, bow down in subservience to the Saudi King, announce that America, but not himself, is arrogant, announce that America is not a Christian country, said we must deeply respect Muslims who have done so much to shape our country, and in general apologized for America to everyone he met. But - he he didn't want to "offend" Germany by honoring America's part in freeing Europe from Hitler - so, he deeply offends our military, their families, and America.]

From Gerald Warner of the UK Telegraph: President Barack Obama has recently completed the most successful foreign policy tour since Napoleon's retreat from Moscow. You name it, he blew it. What was his big deal economic programme that he was determined to drive through the G20 summit? Another massive stimulus package, globally funded and co-ordinated. Did he achieve it? Not so as you'd notice.

Barack Obama in Prague

Then came the dramatic bit, the authentic West Wing script, with the President wakened in the middle of the night in Prague to be told that Kim Jong-il had just launched a Taepodong-2 missile. America had Aegis destroyers tracking the missile and could have shot it down. But Uncle Sam had a sterner reprisal in store for l'il ole Kim (as Dame Edna might call him): a multi-megaton strike of Obama hot air.

"Rules must be binding," declared Obama, referring to the fact that Kim had just breached UN Resolutions 1695 and 1718. "Violations must be punished." (Sounds ominous.) "Words must mean something." (Why, Barack? They never did before, for you - as a cursory glance at your many speeches will show.)

President Pantywaist is hopping mad and he has a strategy to cut Kim down to size: he is going to slice $1.4bn off America's missile defence programme, presumably on the calculation that Kim would feel it unsporting to hit a sitting duck, so that will spoil his fun.

Watch out, France and Co, there is a new surrender monkey on the block and, over the next four years, he will spectacularly sell out the interests of the West with every kind of liberal-delusionist initiative on nuclear disarmament and sitting down to negotiate with any power freak who wants to buy time to get a good ICBM fix on San Francisco, or wherever. If you thought the world was a tad unsafe with Dubya around, just wait until President Pantywaist gets into his stride.

Obama and Mob Rule
by Floyd and Mary Beth Brown

Barack Obama is ignoring the words of the Democratic Party's founder, Thomas Jefferson, who warned, "A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine."

Obama didn't recently come to his desire to redistribute income. In an interview given to Chicago Public Radio in 2001, then-State Sen. Obama said "The Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth and sort of more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society. To that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn't that radical. It didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution, at least as it's been interpreted, and the Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties."

“Any fourth grade history student knows socialism has failed in every country, at every time in history,” said Putin of Russia. “President Obama and his fellow Democrats are either idiots or deliberately trying to destroy their own economy.”

Rep. Pam Richardson of Framingham wants the Massachusetts Democratic Party to advocate voting rights for illegal aliens.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The sky is still dark when David Waun begins to barbeque 400 lbs. of meat. "I just didn't want to drive around any more with a bumper sticker that says 'We support the troops' without actually doing something," Waun said. He barbeques with some regularity for National Guard members....

"A repairman was willing to patch a leaky roof for a deployed soldier's wife, and a woman who volunteered to care for dogs and cats while Guard members spent weekends at drill training. A generous accountant even offered to prepare taxes for hundreds of harried service member. So many people think that what they have to offer is not what we need," said Michele Gire, a mother of three Marines who spearheaded the town hall effort. "And they're so wrong. There's so much they can do."

"A lot of these organizations want to help," Wayt said. "They just don't know the pathway to do it."

Barack the Pied Piper

IN HONOR OF TAX DAY TEA PARTIES NATIONWIDE: [this came to me via email. If anyone knows the author, please let me know......
The Pied Piper and a New Acronym

There was a Pied Piper who said “We live in the greatest country in the
world. Help me change it!” *And the people said, “Change is good!”

Then he said, “We are going to tax the rich fat-cats,”…… *And the people
said “Sock it to them!”

“and redistribute their wealth.” *And the people said, “Show me the money!”
And then he said, “Redistribution of wealth is good for everybody” *And
Joe the plumber said, are you kidding me?” And Joe’s personal records were
hacked and publicized. *And one lone reporter asked, “Isn’t that Marxist
policy?” And she was banished from the kingdom! Then someone asked,
“With no foreign relations experience, how will you deal with radical
terrorists?”

And the Pied Piper said, “Simple. I’ll sit down and talk with them and show
them how nice we really are and they’ll forget that they ever wanted to kill
us all!”
Then the Pied Piper said, “I’ll give 95% of you lower taxes.” *And one,
lone voice said, “But 40% of us don’t pay ANY taxes.”

So the Pied Piper said, “Then I’ll give you some of the taxes the fat-cats
pay!” *And the people said, “Show me the money!”

Then the Pied Piper said, “I’ll tax your Capital Gains when you sell your
homes!” *And the people yawned and the slumping housing market collapsed.

And he said, “I’ll mandate employer- funded health care for EVERY worker and
raise the minimum wage.” *And the people said, “Gim’me some of that!”

Then he said, “I’ll penalize employers who ship jobs overseas.” *And the
people said, “Where’s my rebate check?”

Then the Pied Piper actually said, “I’ll bankrupt the coal industry and
electricity rates will skyrocket!” *And the people said, “Coal is dirty,
coal is evil, no more coal! But we don’t care for that part about higher
electric rates.”

So the Pied Piper said, “Not to worry. If your rebate isn’t enough to cover
your expenses, we’ll bail you out. Just sign up with ACORN and your troubles
are over!” Then he said, “Illegal immigrants feel scorned and slighted. Let’s
grant them amnesty, Social Security, free education, free lunches, free
medical care, bi-lingual signs and guaranteed housing.”

*And the people said, “Ole`! Bravo!” And they made him King!

And so it came to pass that employers, facing spiraling costs and
ever-higher taxes, raised their prices and laid off workers. Others simply
gave up and went out of business and the economy slowed even further. Then
the Pied Piper said, “I am the Messiah and I’m here to save you! We’ll just
print more money so everyone will have enough!” But our foreign trading
partners said, “Wait a minute. Your dollar isn’t worth what it was. You’ll
have to pay more.”

*And the people said, “Wait a minute. That’s not fair!”

And the world said, “Neither are these other, idiotic programs you’ve
embraced. You’ve become a Socialist state and a second-rate power. Now you’ll
play by our rules!”

*And the people said, “What have we done?”

But it was too late.

Barack Obama and the World

Quote of the week:Judith Klinghofer of Rutgers University states: [Barack Obama], the son of an anthropologist, developed a lot of “tricks,” as he put it, training himself to be a close observer of human nature, figuring out what others needed so he could get where he wanted to go.

He was able to banish any fear in older white folk that he was an angry young black man — with smiles, courtesy and, as he wrote in his memoir, “no sudden moves.” A passage from Barack Obama's first autobiography to remember when Obama is speaking, [almost always with a teleprompter, I add]: On p. 94-95 he describes an effective tactic to deal with White people:
"It was usually an effective tactic, another one of those tricks I had learned: People were satisfied so long as you were courteous and smiled and made no sudden moves. They were more than satisfied; they were relieved - such a pleasant surprise to find a well-mannered young black man who didn't seem angry all the time."
AS OBAMA HAS STATED, WORDS MATTER.>>>>>>
We must heed his words.

OBAMA'S PLACE IN THE WORLD:
"As long as the threat from Iran persists, we will go forward with a
missile defense system that is cost-effective and proven," President
Obama told a crowd of about 20,000 gathered in Prague.
Following
that waffle, Russian leader Medvedev refers to Barack Obama as his
"new comrade." Isn't that just great?

Just as President Obama was pledging to create a nuclear
free world, North Korea, in direct conflict with it's UN
Resolution, launched another long-range missile, one with
the capability of reaching America. Message received?

We will convey,” said Barack Obama to the Turkish
Parliament Monday, “our deep appreciation for the Islamic
faith, which has done so much over the centuries to shape
the world — including in my own country.” What?? Is he
talking about his own country of Kenya which has family
ties to our new President - or of the new direction the
United States was forced to take following the radical Islam/
Muslim-connected assaults of 9/11? What could he be
referencing, since Muslims were NOT part of the shaping
of our county during any of it's long history?

For the first time in American's history, a President has

prostrated himself before a foreign potentate, Saudi King

Abdullah, at the Group of 20 summit in London last week.

This action is expected only from the subjects of the King.

Mr. Obama later said in Strasbourg, France, "We have to

change our behavior in showing the Muslim world greater

respect." He often says that we are not at war with Islam,

as if President Bush said we were. President Bush has

always maintained that we are at war with RADICAL

Islam. Since actions as well as words "mean something",

as Obama likes to say, we can only wonder what the rest

of the world thinks about the bowing down of America

to a Muslim.

And here in America, Congressman John Conyers,
head of the Judiciary Committee, is calling for a full
House investigation of corrupt ACORN's role in the
presidential election and beyond. Kudo's to John
Conyers!

HEALTH CARE REFORM
BARACK Obama promised during his
campaign that
his health care reforms would allow
Americans to keep their current insurance coverage
if they so desired.
He must have "forgotten" that his
plan will take away from 10 million seniors their
Medicare Advantage (MA) plans - 60% of whom
have incomes of only $10,000 to $30,000.
MA plans
emphasize the free market and patient choice at lower
cost, and threaten Democrats' plans for a government-
run health care system.
In addition to this, an
independent health research group, The Lewin
Group, concluded that President Obama's public
health insurance plan is likely to put private
insurers out of business. Also, President Obama
wants to digitalize and collect all patient health
care data, initially because such data could assist
in assessing best practices. Ah, all the easier for his
government to ration our health care according to
it's priorities! I believe this is exactly his preferred
outcome.

Obama's latest ideas.....

On President Obama's expectation of a friendly relationship with our enemies: Taliban insurgents reject a U.S. offer of "honorable reconciliation," a top spokesman said on Wednesday, calling it a "lunatic idea" and saying the only way to end the war was to withdraw foreign troops.

The agenda President Obama chose by his initial pick of Tom Daschle in charge of National Healthcare: "Daschle says health-care reform “will not be pain free.” "Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them."

ANOTHER DANGEROUS OBAMA PICK: Cliff Kincaid now posits that Harold Koh, OBama's pick for State Department Legal Adviser, believes in a world government financed by global taxes — a view he imbibed from his acknowledged mentor, Louis B. Sohn, a professor of law at Harvard. Sohn was not only a chief author of the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) but also proposed transforming the United Nations into a world government in his book, World Peace Through World Law: Sohn said that he wanted this world government to maintain hundreds of thousands of troops, military bases, and be armed with nuclear weapons. The purpose, he said, would be to disarm “each and every nation and to deter or suppress any attempted international violence.” This “world authority” would also require a “United Nations Revenue System,” drawing taxes from “each nation” of the world, he said.
WHERE IS AMERICA'S DANIEL HANNAN?
Daniel Hannan, speaking to Prime Minister Gordon Brown:
"Prime Minister, you cannot carry on forever squeezing the productive bit of the economy in order to fund an unprecedented engorgement of the unproductive bit. You cannot spend your way out of recession or borrow your way out of debt. And when you repeat, in that wooden and perfunctory way, that our situation is better than others, that we're 'well-placed to weather the storm,' I have to tell you (that) you sound like a Brezhnev-era apparatchik giving the party line. You know and we know -- and you know that we know -- that it's nonsense!"

AMERICA'S OUTRAGE SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN HEARD:
President Barack Obama's Democratic allies in Congress are taking only baby steps with his budget, putting off crucial decisions on his ambitious plans to expand health care, curb global warming and raise taxes on the wealthy. " Andrew Taylor, who has covered Congress for 20 yrs. reporting." We can only hope. Our nationwide Tea Parties will provide good incentive to slow this spending down.

U.S. GOVERNMENT TO RUN PUBLIC COMPANIES?
"There's no question we need more performance-based pay decisions, but the government deciding and judging the performance of employees in private companies, the secretary of the Treasury deciding whether an employee is performing? I think not," said Representative Spencer Bachus, an Alabama Republican. "The answer is not a dramatic expansion of government control."

IS CONGRESS HEARING AMERICA REGARDING CAP AND TRADE PROPOSALS?
A bipartisan group of Senate Democrats and Republicans added an amendment to the pending budget resolution. The amendment will deny carbon-emissions-tax supporters the use of the fast-track budget RECONCILIATION rule whereby debate is limited, and a simple majority passes the law instead of the filibuster-proof super majority of 60.

Gv't to seize retirement accts?

PAY FOR PERFORMANCE ACT: This would impose government controls on the salaries of ALL workers, not just the executives, of all companies that have received bailout money from the government. It would give Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who has never worked in the business world, extraordinary power to determine the pay of thousands of employees of American companies. Barney Frank has stated that he would like for this salary cap to be controlled by government for ALL American companies... I say it would be good if we citizens, for whom our Congressmen work, could tie Congress's salaries to its performance ..... There is now mounting evidence that the brakes are being applied on this proposal. As Representative Spencer Bachus of Alabama noted, "There's no question we need more performance-based pay decisions, but the government deciding and judging the performance of employees in private companies, the secretary of the Treasury deciding whether an employee is performing? I think not. The answer is not a dramatic expansion of government control." Do keep calling your Congressmen!

Democrats in Congress have been conducting hearings on proposals to confiscate private retirement accounts and turn them into government-controlled accounts managed by the Social Security Administration.

Using an Executive Order, President Obama has quietly signed a pro union executive order , comanding the use of union labor for federal construction projects. It is a move to reward his campaign backers, and undermines Obama's promise to change Washington. Republican National Committee's President, Michael Steele says, "It is nothing less than a payoff to the unions who supported his campaign with both money and troops".

During a House Judiciary committee hearing, it was revealed by an ACORN whistleblower, Anita Moncrief, that the NYT withheld evidence that Barack Obama was interacting with voter-fraud tainted ACORN, his previous employer, during his campaign. They did not run the story because "it was a game changer" [for the election]. U.S. Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wisc. said the interactions between the Obama campaign and ACORN possibly violate federal election law.
Ms. Moncrief said that the campaign had asked her and her boss to “reach out to the maxed-out donors and solicit donations from them for Get Out the Vote efforts to be run by ACORN.”

The dollar tumbled following naive Timothy Geithner's response to China's call for a new global currency [away from the dollar]. Geithner actually said he was "quite open" to their suggestion! Following great dismay from Americans, he quickly learned that it was an inappropriate response and took back his words. He's still learning on the job.....

Quote of the day: My stepfather Lolo said, "Men take advantage of weakness in other men. They're just like countries in that way. The strong man takes the weak man's land. He makes the weak man work in his fields. If the weak man's woman is pretty, the strong man will take her. Which would you rather be? Better to be strong. If you can't be strong, be clever and make peace with someone who's strong. But always better to be strong yourself. Always."

Comments From Foreign Leaders About Our Country

NYT columnist Tom Friedman says this: I ran into an Indian businessman friend last week and he said something to me that really struck a chord: “This is the first time I’ve ever visited the United States when I feel like you’re acting like an immature democracy.”

Vladimir Putin (!!) just advised us not to take the Marxist road to ruin, like Russia did.

"I hope we don't regret our trust in the United States," Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said at the Brussels Forum conference to an audience of senior world politicians and experts. He was talking about Obama waffling about the missile shield the US promised to install in Eastern Europe, to defend against Iranian, and if necessary against Russian missiles. The Poles have a history of being betrayed by the West in World War

And the current President of the European Union, Czech Prime Minister Mirek Toplanek, declared that our current Budget proposal's plan to spend our way out of recession is "a way to hell", "will undermine the stability of the global financial market."

A SHOCKING NEWS FLASH!

The House has already passed their "Give" Act, and the Senate is considering it.

To learn more about it's contents, go to: http://michellemalkin.com/2009/03/25/to-give-and-to-serve-the-6-billion-national-service-boondoggle/

Following are remarks by several sources, who see it as the first step in Obama's plan for a Civilian National Security Force, as well as Hillary Clinton's Public Service Academy, with tuition paid for by our government for people to "learn" how to work for the government [promised by her during her Presidential Campaign]. The fact that it will cost us over six billion dollars thru 2014 should be enough to stop it's passage. Why Orrin Hatch does not see the possible future uses of this mandate escapes me.

From Melanie Phillips of the UK Spectator:

There was also his deeply troubling suggestion during his [Obama's] presidential campaign – which received virtually no attention – of creating a civilian national security force that would be as powerful, strong and well-funded as the half-trillion dollar Army, Marines, Navy and Air Force, although he subsequently refused to elaborate upon this distinctly chilling suggestion (and indeed, according to this report these remarks actually vanished from the published transcript of Obama’s speech). By the way, I add, Obama is CUTTING funding for our true military in this budget!

A few days ago, however, the House of Representatives passed the Orwellian-sounding ‘Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act’ which provides for the introduction of mandatory national service (unspecified) for all young people.

As Rick Moran noted on American Thinker:

The bill fulfills an Obama campaign promise to create a ‘civilian national security force.’ This legislation will not mandate or force our young people into national service - not yet anyway. But there is little doubt that we are being set up for just such an eventuality. ... Clearly, the goal of this program is to involve every single young person in America in a mandatory service program. The ‘Commission’ is a smokescreen. Of course they are going to recommend that there be mandatory service and they will lay out procedures on how to do it.

And WorldNetDaily reported:

The legislation also refers to ‘uniforms’ that would be worn by the ‘volunteers’ and the ‘need’ for a ‘public service academy, a 4-year institution’ to ‘focus on training’ future ‘public sector leaders. This, by the way, was suggested by Hillary Clinton during her campaign for the Presidency. The training, apparently, would occur at ‘campuses.’... The new bill specifically references the possibilities ‘if all individuals in the United States were expected to perform national service or were required to perform a certain amount of national service.’ Such new requirements perhaps, the legislation notes, ‘would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.’ HR1388

And now just look at what some of the Organising for America cadres were saying on the streets of Birmingham, Alabama:

‘We're looking for supporters,’ said DeHaven of Hoover, one of the event's organizers. ‘We're not looking for a fight. That will come later, when we have an army.’

Two months in – and it’s all there, folks, for those with eyes to see.

And from the San Francisco Examiner Editorial:

To begin with, the legislation [just passed by our House of Representatives] threatens the voluntary nature of Americorps by calling for consideration of “a workable, fair and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people.” It anticipates the possibility of requiring “all individuals in the United States” to perform such service, including elementary school students.

The bill also summons up unsettling memories of World War II-era paramilitary groups by saying the new program should “combine the best practices of civilian service with the best aspects of military service,” while establishing “campuses” that serve as “operational headquarters,” complete with “superintendents” and “uniforms” for all participants. It allows for the elimination of all age restrictions in order to involve Americans at all stages of life. And, it calls for the creation of “a permanent cadre” in a “National Community Civilian Corps.”

But that’s not all. The bill also calls for “youth engagement zones” in which “service learning” is “a mandatory part of the curriculum in all of the secondary schools served by the local educational agency.”

This updated form of voluntary community service is also to be “integrated into the science, technology, engineering and mathematics curricula” at all levels of schooling. Sounds like a government curriculum for government-approved “service learning,” which is nothing less than indoctrination.

The Top 11 Democrat and Obama Proposals Which I Hope Will Fail

Remembering that President Obama announced that "only government can fix this mess", as well as remembering that Rahm Emanuel states that we must "Never let a serious crisis go to waste", I offer the following list.

1) A bevy of new taxes, as part of Obama's desire to "redistribute income", including the following and more: a) taxation of retirement accounts; b) taxation of health care benefits; c) taxing our use of natural resources (heat and air-conditioning); d) extra taxation on homes larger than 2400 sq. ft.; e) tax on miles driven; f) ending the cap on which we pay Social Security Tax, now at $102,500; g) raising capital gains tax rates; h) imputed income on home value tax (find the difference between the amount you pay for your mortgage, subtract that from the price you could get if you were to rent your home out, and be taxed on the difference - just in case you've been "lucky" enough to pay off your mortgage); i) eliminating the deductions for charitable giving and mortgage interest for high income earners; and j) punishing married couples for not being single (high tax on singles begins at $200,000; for marrieds at $250,000).
2) The Energy plan, with it's Cap and Trade proposals which will raise the cost of energy for everyone, sending even more of our money overseas and negating Obama's tax reduction for 95% of Americans. All of this would occur despite only a tiny change in our temperatures, by the way. This is being planned even though there is some good evidence that the global warming [which ended about 10 yrs. ago] is probably NOT man-made. Perhaps this is why there have been both Ice Ages and Global Warming thruout the millennium on Planet Earth.
3) The Universal [Socialistic] Health Care Plan, which in Tom Daschle's opinion must ration health care, especially for Seniors, and send doctors who provide private care to prison. THE USE OF A TACTIC CALLED RECONCILIATION TO SNEAK THE ENERGY AND HEALTH CARE BILLS INTO THE BUDGET NOW BEING PROPOSED is being discussed, and it would permit their additions with only a majority, not the veto-proof majority of 60 currently in place.
4) Card Check, whereby Union bosses could browbeat employees and then take their votes in person, not by a private ballot as we have when we vote for our President.
5) The Fairness Doctrine, the unfair proposal to squash conservative talk radio - because it is very effective in giving us the news the media deign not to provide, and because the liberal shows always fail to gain an audience.
6) Government mandated Community Service - along with huge government spending to support it
7) Going along with the America-hating UN by: joining the International Criminal Court (bypassing our American courts); agreeing to the Law of the Sea Treaty (whereby the UN TELLS us what we can do with our own seabed); formation of a World Government under the New World Order; having U.S. soldiers under the command of the UN; and participating in the Global Poverty Act, whereby another .7% of our Gross Domestic Product will be given to the UN for use world-wide, in spite of the fact that our country is the most charitable in the history of the world.
8) Our House of Representative's newly passed law to tax the AIG bonuses at 90%, even after THEY were the ones who passed the law allowing the bonuses. This is anti-Constitutional, if it's Bill of Attainder means anything at all [our government cannot pick out a small group to punish more than they already punish all Americans]. It fits right in to their agenda of Class Warfare and is endangering those executives and fomenting the hatred of Capitalism. It has been noted that it was ACORN, Obama's former "employer" who organized the recent bus tours of the "greedy" executives' homes. This is the same ACORN which is slated to receive millions of dollars of the Stimulus Package.
9) Obama's plan for Income Redistribution, whereby those who work the hardest, educate themselves, take the risks, employ others, and act with responsibility will be giving ever more of their money to those who don't take advantage of their free education or work 40-80 hrs. per week to get ahead. In it's effort to do this, Barney Frank is now calling for LIMITING ANYONE'S INCOME to $500,000!
10) Closing Gitmo, prosecuting terrorists in our courts of law, and setting these prisoners free into our American communities. We no longer have terrorists in the government's vernacular, by the way. Nor do we use the term Enemy Combatants; they are "detainees". Obama has caved in to the International Court's reasons for keeping these people at Gitmo til he closes it.
11) The recent proposal to give to tax-cheat Timothy Geithner the SOLE authority to SIEZE any company in the US which is deemed by him to be in trouble and too big to fail - even if it is NOT taking government money!
AND TWO PROPOSALS WHICH WE HAVE DEFEATED:
1)Though our President thought it was a good idea, our Veterans will NOT be forced to pay for their own private health insurance!
2) It seems that Obama's plan to give to Rahm Emanuel the oversight of our Census has been quelled. It will remain the duty of the Commerce Dept.

"When good people relinquish the power of the free market, the power that rests in the hands of the individual, and look to a charismatic figure for help, disaster is right around the corner. It is nothing new that is happening in the world today, my friends. It is the same thing that has been happening since the dawn of time; it takes a crisis to enthrone a monster and I fear that something wicked this way comes." This was written by J.C. Smith of American Thinker, and I wish they were my words. Do you see this current administration as attempting, and often succeeding, in turning Americans against Capitalism and "greedy" executives? Could this all be a part of its' Big Government agenda? They are deflecting focus from the Congress's blame in all this, from forcing banks to make loans to those who couldn't pay for them, to preventing poorly run companies from going into bankruptcy. Worst of all, they are keeping our focus off the fact that Congress once again passed a bill without even reading what was in it! We should be far angrier at Congress than we are at Corporations.

Because of public exposure and the great outcry concerning his hypocrisy, Senator Christopher Dodd has not only admitted that is was HIS addition to the Stimulus Bill which allowed the payment of bonuses to AIG executives (though he is saying the President MADE him do it), he has declared that he will be returning the parts of his over $130,000 presidential campaign donations from AIG executives which in his eyes are "tainted", whatever that means....

Our President has decided that his great plan to make our heroic military vets pay for their own PRIVATE health insurance was not so great after all. Again, our great hue and cry has exposed his agenda as well as his incompetence at his job.

Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, and third in line to be President of the United States, recently said, while addressing illegal aliens in California, and while condemning raids by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents,
said, "You are special people. You're here on a Saturday night to take responsibility for our country's future. That makes you very, very patriotic." What? Does that make those who believe in following the laws that CONGRESS has passed are un-patriotic??

http://www.gratefulamericancoin.org/ On this site, you can purchase some beautiful coins for $6-7 each to hand to military personnel you may see in the airports or around town. It beautifully expresses gratitude for their service. All proceeds benefit the Special Operations Warrior Foundation or VetDogs. If you don't do this, consider buying their coffee or a meal, or at least approaching them to thank them for their service and to shake their hands. I guarantee you will be surprised and pleased by their responses! And you will feel better about yourselves.

Christopher Dodd has put on the table the taxation of the Retention Bonuses paid to AIG - at a rate of 90%! But he realizes that would be taxing ourselves, so he'll have to rethink it. He is also angry that some of the funds have been sent to prop up foreign banks, but they probably only honor the insurance policies which they wrote. Chuck Schumer wrote a letter to the gov't appointed CEO of AIG that his bonus-receiving employees will either voluntarily return their bonuses or "we plan to virtually tax all of it" - perhaps at 91-100%. What they are NOT telling you is that although they are all feigning outrage and shock, they KNEW this was part of the bailout package they signed into law - or they should have known! It was Dodd's own exemption, placed into the law, that contracts already entered into must be honored. Dodd, by the way, took around $130,000 in donations to his Presidential campaign from AIG, and is also a Senator who received special treatment for his mortgage loan from Countrywide. These bonuses may be the only way that AIG can keep competent executives on board to help turn the company around. And contrary to some in Congress like Barney Frank who want to LIMIT executive pay in ANY American company to $500,000, I don't think limiting capitalism is the answer. Again I would ask if this will pertain as well to movie stars and athletes..... The current Clinton era rules limiting income in various ways led to the practice of paying executives with bonuses and stock options instead of higher income... If our government can break the contracts in order to get these bonus monies back - not one contract in America is safe. Ask yourself whose contract will be next. As to all of this, Obama said yesterday that all Americans ask "is that everyone, from Main Street to Wall Street to Washington, play by the same rules. That is an ethic that we have to demand." Doesn't that make you laugh? He excepts his own appointees, as we know. Perhaps he should just require fair discussion and actual reading of all bills prior to bills being passed into law.

Next, Obama will not take off the table the possibility of having the health care of our Veterans be paid for by their PRIVATE insurance. The Law of Unintended Consequences would forecast the following: employers not hiring vets at the same rate as before, fewer people entering the military, private insurance companies greatly increasing their premiums because they are having to cover severely wounded vets who were promised care thru the Veterans Administration, and even more people put on the roles of the uninsured and unemployed. Oh - maybe THIS is the ultimate goal - having more people begging for Universal Health Insurance!

As if this is not enough, this Congress is contemplating the taxation of American workers' health insurance benefits which are given to them by their employers!

From Glenn Beck: " Barack Obama's climate czar (who is a socialist) blurted out in an interview that she wanted to eventually have a system that can 'hold back' power to certain houses at certain times of the day. The government deciding who gets heat or AC on extreme temperature days - yeah, that sounds like it will end well." I assume that Obama will be allowed to keep the Whitehouse at his favored 78-80 degrees - because he came from Hawaii....and he's not bound by his own treat-everyone-the-same rules.

Cook County, Illinois (Chicago) residents will soon have to provide thumbprints in order to sell a home! How can they get away with that??!! Keep an eye out in your own states for more takeovers of our rights - and report it by commenting on my blog!

Last: Congress is entertaining the use of a procedure called "reconciliation" to put the energy bill and the healthcare bill into the budget without having to entertain debate with those pesky conservatives, and with only a simple majority of votes (not the supermajority) - with no filibuster allowed!
