| This was the day I and my daughter spent 9 hours on Capital Hill to speak with Democrat Congressmen about the Affordable Health Act which was to be voted on later that week. Not ONE Congressman would speak to ANY visitor in spite of knowing that we were coming. My own Congressman Bart Stupak ran out the side door when I said that I was one of his constituents. He was the last one to vote YES, because Obama promised him that the Act would not provide abortions. How did that work out? |

A new poll shows Mitt Romney flipping a 5-point deficit in Colorado
before the first presidential debate, which was held on Wednesday in
Denver, to a 3.5-point advantage later in the week — another signal that
Mr. Romney's comparatively strong debate performance has started to
translate into rising poll numbers for the Republican.

The New York Times reports that the
Obama administration has abandoned its limited goal of a negotiated
settlement with the Taliban, leaving the Afghans to do it in the years
after we leave. Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi rebuffed President
Obama's call for free speech in the aftermath of the Arab Spring,
calling in his United Nations speech for repression of any speech that
offends Islam.
President Obama intervened militarily in
Libya after his then-defense secretary, Bob Gates, said America had no
national security stake in that nation. The result, in the words of
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, is that "[n]ow with a larger safe
haven and increased freedom to maneuver, terrorists are seeking to

From the Tampa Tribune: Kudos to the Spanish-language television news network Univision for
their incredible investigative report on Fast and Furious. Much of what
they revealed has been asserted by one of our own congressional
committees and after an internal inspector general's report, it leaves
little doubt as to the complicity of this administration in the
slaughter of hundreds of Mexicans.
Where is the American media
that have failed in their responsibility to be the watch dog of
irresponsible and illegal government activities? They are missing in
action and thereby have failed in their responsibility not only to the
people of America but also to the Republic that entrusted them with
watching over it.

There will be lots more to write on this topic, but here's
a snippet at this link: After Congress passed the RESTORE Act
to direct any monies from a federal lawsuit against BP (related to
the oil rig blowout) to the affected Gulf States according to a
formula set in the act, the Obama administration, as is its wont,
is trying to make an end run against a law the president himself
signed, by reaching a legal settlement with BP that directs the
money elsewhere so the feds have control of it.
This is an outrage. My own local congressman, Jo Bonner of
Mobile, AL, who is a bulldog when riled up in a righteous cause, is
leading an effort to stop the administration's lawless money grab.

On Thursday, AARP issued this
statement: "AARP has never consented to the use of its name by
any candidate or political campaign. AARP is a nonpartisan
organization and we do not endorse political candidates nor
coordinate with any candidate or political party." The hypocrisy of
this statement is breathtaking. AARP actively supported Obama and
congressional Democrats on Obamacare knowing full well that it
would cut Medicare Advantage (MA), an enormously popular program
among seniors, by $200 billion. This obvious betrayal of its
members was driven by the knowledge that these MA cuts would force
millions of seniors back to traditional Medicare and create a
captive market for AARP's "Medigap" policies.
AARP derives only about 20% its annual
revenue from membership dues. Meanwhile, the organization earns
more than $1 billion per year by endorsing various products,
including "Medigap" insurance policies that pay medical charges not

Obama’s crooked campaign cash-o-matic machine revisited

In advance of the new Obama donor scandal story that many conservatives have been
buzzing about and which is purportedly
set to hit the pages of
Newsweek/Daily Beast
tomorrow morning, I’m reprinting a selection of my previous blog posts
over the last four years that exposed various aspects of the Obama
crooked campaign cash-o-matic machine.
But there’s nothing routine about the
nearly $3 million Obama has spent on legal expenses
[in 2008] to address federal campaign finance irregularities and inquiries. Roll
Call reports that Obama’s campaign legal fees have exceeded all other
House and presidential campaign committees, including members of
Congress under ethics investigations.Among the Obama 2008 campaign committee’s shadiest transactions that have gone unpunished:

Foreign funny money. Federal election law bans
foreign nationals from contributing to American candidates. But during
2008, the Obama campaign was forced to
return an illegal foreign donation worth $31,100 made by
two brothers in the Gaza Strip,
and even mainstream news outlets reported that candidate Obama’s
money-handlers had routinely failed to verify citizenship by checking
donors’ passports. As the Associated Press reported at the time: “One
donor, Tom Sanderson of Canada, made clear his $500 contribution came
from a foreign source. He included a note that said,
‘I am not an American citizen!’ Obama’s campaign took the money anyway…”
Another illegal foreign donor, Australian Richard Watters, contributed $1,000, “
entering a fake U.S. passport number
— a random jumble of numbers and letters” onto the Obama donation
website. “He said he also checked a box stating that he was an American
living overseas, ‘because I could see it wasn’t going anywhere if I
didn’t do that.’”

Mitt Romney
on Monday will accuse the Obama administration of fundamentally
misunderstanding the threat of radical Islam, using a major
foreign-policy speech at the Virginia Military Institute to say
President Obama is rejecting six decades of bipartisan consensus by not
flexing more U.S. muscle on the world stage.
